Come on Sharrap there. In the U.K. it matters ZERO if you are housed or fed by your employer. You MUST be paid for your labour. That is the law. The minimum wage is around 6 pounds an hour. A full day of work is around 50 pounds pay. And no, you can get a small room for around 60 pounds a week inclusive of gas, water, and electric bills.

Though I don't support the maltreatment of workers, but the househelp shouldn't act like an ingrate. There's always 2 sides to a story and her complaint leaves so much unanswered. Is it possible that 20 pounds is all she's being paid? Really? By those who took her abroad in the first place?

It takes a lot to take someone abroad and give the person a better life, she should appreciate that. It's not like she had it better in Nigeria, so why should she bite the fingers feeding her over minor dispute.

The hardworking couple went through the stress of bringing her from Nigeria to the UK to help them babysit and keep the home, if she has issues, she should have found a way to table her complaints in a sensible way.

Most of these so-called househelps end up becoming arrogant and disloyal when they start having "london friends".

Yes they can write WAEC in Hausa. Matter of fact, they lecture them in Hausa and note that Hausa isn't a local language. It's spoken in some other western countries and WAEC is a West African exam.

Even when you think you've heard enough some will still be coming with so mumu thinking, my guy, I thought in a school for good three years, currently on the job with a bank, my brother, I will advise,you continue with your teaching job, save your prestige, energy and emotion. Expecially with your current qualification, the banking sector may not be the best place for you to be, unless you want to end up with regreat, frustration, anger etc. This is my advice to you, thought it may not be easy, now that you have a job, try to save little cash, and start something. With my current knowledge i have got to know that you dont need 500k, 300k or N1m to start a business, I am currently running a parole buzz that i started with little or no start up capital I work only on saturdays, delivers on sundays and i make within 5k -8k, mind you, I do this just on Saturdays and still go for my Monday - friday 6am to 7am (work) with pains. So reason well.
