nefertitiram:I understand the feeling, but you know life goes on. Thank God for life! |
RoyalMail:You are free bro! |
I remembered that Sunday very well. We were staying at Onigbongbo, Maryland, ikeja then. A terrible Sunday i can't forget in a hurry. We stayed on the 1st floor of a three storey building and very close to the cantonment-our street was actually sharing fence with the ikeja cantonment. When the 1st explosion started, everyone ran outside the house to the balcony to observe what was happening, some were initially saying it was a petrol tanker that exploded. We could see thick black smoke rising from the far end and immediately with a loud deafening explosion, everywhere became dark, and the whole building started shaking. In the panic and confusion, we all ran in different directions, i ran to the backyard staircase hoping to jump but was not possible because at that instant, everywhere was darkened, with serious shakings-like an earthquake attack- i had to run back to the front corridor and managed to jump the flight of steps. In the confusion, my mum jumped from the 1st storey and was dangling, holding the railings of the balcony, her legs swigging free ready to take a free fall of about 16 meters down. While hanging there, she was shouting for help but no body wanted to give any form of assistance because they were all running for their lives. on jumping through the flight of stairs down to the ground floor, i saw my mum dangling from the railings on the last floor (topmost floor), almost falling, I screamed and shouted, pleading with the running crowd to please assist me in rescuing my mum. I then ran back to the first floor, with two other men, one to the first floor with me and the other to the next floor. We took hold of her slipping hands while the other man held her legs to gradually lower her to the second floor. it was a terrible day, our ceiling fan blades received the shock of the explosion and were bent outwards, louvers went breaking, falling out of windows, people running out of their homes. A particular man was actually taking his bath when the next explosion happened, with soap leather all over his body and head covered in soap, the man joined the mammoth crowd running towards the Onigbongbo Bus stop. We ran from Maryland through Mende, through a swampy area, God saved us too, cos we almost drowned if not for a military man that helped us climb on a rickety bridge floating over the swamp. Just as people ran into the Oke Afa swamp thinking it was land, many ran into this swamp too, but God had mercy on us (myself and my mum), we would have drowned too. On the other side of the almost dilapidated wooden bridge, we continued our "Isreali" journey, running without shoes to Alapere where my mum's Aunt stays. Even @ Alapere, people were still running, but we couldn't anymore cos we had no strength left in us after the whole experience. I can't recount everything here, it was too much to see, but thank God for saving us. For everyone whose lives were lost, I say may they rest in peace. January 27th, 2002, a day I will never forget. Peace!!!!!! |
ancientbanana:I just had to comment on this, you gavw me a good laugh @ draw a chicken on paper.Kikikikkikiki, couldn't stop laughing. Thanks for the humour...... |
This is sad! Guys, this 'get rich or die trying' syndrome is getting a lot of our promising and potential great men killed on a daily basis. A lot of mind re-engineering needs to be done to aviod this loop, else we will continue losing great Nigerians to the 'claws' of drug trafficking by death. God help this generation!!! |
euchaaria:I feel your pains sis and also saw the thread you created about job interview. Well, things like that happen and you shouldn't just be discouraged. Keep on pressing and be persistence. So many people will tell you the same story of job. I have my fair share of experience in it too. Lost my job last year and had to stay without a job for almost a year without one, but eventually my persistence paid off after attending countless interviews and test, i eventually secured a nice one early this year. So many Nairalanders with such stories as yours, be persistent, follow Debbi here on Nairaland and other good hearted fellows who post real jobs and the light will shine on you. God will pick our calls before this month ends! Can i hear a loud Amen!!!!! Peace!!! |
Rapmoney:Guy, u just gave me a hard hard laugh nw. Being laughing ever since i read this comment of yours such that my colleagues in the office were almost confused. Thanks for making laugh this hard today. I had to reread it over again. Lols |
Rapmoney:This guy wan use laugh kill me, being laughing very hard in d office so tey my colleagues dey look say wetin dey do me. Thanks for making me hard this afternoon!! |
Some of the things written up there are true to some extent. I know this because I am VIRGO. I Rep 28th of August. Cheers!!! |
It's a pity things like this keep happening in Nigeria! Well, I will 'congratulate' the suspect because his own is officially done for. He would remember next time that impersonation and rape are not things you toy with. People should be careful these days because cases of abduction and rape are on the increase, God will continue to see us through in Jesus name, Amen!! |
This is very pathetic!!!! It's only in Nigeria the law of 'what goes up must come down' does not apply. We are all hoping and praying for a better tomorrow, yet things keep going south. I can't seem to understand how we can save this nation from these economic woes, mind you, I am a very optimisitic person and wish above all things that it may be well with Nigerians so we all can prosper. All i have been seeng and reading online of late are all negative stories, please how did we get here, how did we get it wrong, what are not doing right, can we continue like this and expect things to turn out differently ? These are all questions i keep asking myself, and can't seem to get any answer.Well, all i know and want is: We need a solution!!!!!!!! |

debbie:I choose to call you OluwaDebbie today cos God has used you and still using you as a vessel of blessings to others. I choose to celebrate with you today as another year is added to your age. Happy birthday to you, i wish you all the best things of life and may your aspiration and dreams come to manifestation in Jesus name, Amen! Enjoy your day!!!!!! |
This is very pathetic and saddening . Why would a lady kill herself just because she had challenges with her academics. I guess she hasn't seen people pass through difficulty in life, pass out of school, served and eventually didn't get a job, would such people kill theirself. All I would say is God have mercy on her. RIP to her! |
debbie:@Debbie, God bless you real good. Can't thank you enough for the job you are doing here, you are sowing seeds of greatness and favour for yourself and generation. I have been applying to the different jobs you post from time to time once it fits my specification. I applied to 3 different positions over the weeks, of the numerous jobs you posted, telecoms positions to be precise and i was called for interview and test for one, was interviewed on phone for another and the third one also called for interview, which was in stages. I thank God that I became successful in this third one and I have gotten the job This job is coming 10 months after I lost my job in one of the top 3 telecoms operator in the country last year, but I never gave up hope even after attending several interviews and sometimes test, I kept on moving until i got my desired result. God bless Nairaland, God bless Debbie and everyone doing a great job here. Please don't give up untill you lay your hands on that job you desire Shalom!! |
Does it makes the angle with the vertical or horizontal axis? That would help carry out d calculation |
Well, another way to take garri if you can't avoid drinking it is to microwave it for about 5 mins. I think this will also do justice to any parasite in it. Thank me later. #MyOpinionThough# |
debbie:Debbi, I would commend you, it's a great job you have been doing here. Though words may not be able to fully express our appreciation for your efforts and time, we say God bless you beyond your dreams. Just keep doing what you are doing because as you bless lives, heavens will continue smiling on you and open doors for you where you least expected Thank You |
Well, it's a nice innovation but very inefficient. As an Engineer, I would tell you, the longer the length, the lower the voltage across the terminals of the USB port. This is because the resistance has increased greatly by the increase in length, hence reducing the charging current of the usb cord due to attenuation of the signal (current) and will take longer time for the phone to charge up when compared to charging it at a shorter length. The only way to compensate for this and make it charge faster is if at some length along the cable, the current is amplified (Gain increased) because it had already attenuated as a result of distance. N.B: Remember that the current here is in the Miliampere range (mA). I don't really see the practical use of this in real life except improved upon. #My2Cent |
Congratulations Ma,more testimonies to come in Jesus name. I tap into the grace too, Amen! |
Please I need a guide on CCTV installations and troubleshooting. Would be glad to get it at walexy_09@yahoo.co.uk THANKS |
Victosin09:Hello Victosin09, got your pm. I am really very happy for you. This is just the begining of wonderful testimonies and more to come before the year ends. Congrats once more sis. Still waiting for more testimonies to roll in before the end of the year. IT IS NOT OVER UNTIL IT IS OVER! Have faith and you will testify! |
Why for goodness sake has Jonathan and his goons decided to put Nigerians in untold hardship? Is it a crime to have been installed as a president of the country. Can someone please just tell me, how are we going to survive this as a country, I almost wept on reading this, coupled with the various atrocities being revealed lately. These people have finished this country going by the billions of $$$ being carted away and misappropriated during their regime It is only God that would save us because i don't know if Nigerians can stomach further revelations of 'impish' and callous misdoings of the past administration of the Jonathan govt. But thank God men are not God, else GEJ would have sold this country completely back into the stone age and obscured darkness that Nigeria may never recover from. Well, karma is watching and planning on paying each and everyone back in their own coins and note. I rest my case..........Sighs |
Those guys at jobsindubai are not too serious. They are majorly after your money, after which they will promise you job placement in Dubai. They will keep calling you to pay the particular membership fees and once you do, you are left just applying for jobs after jobs that may never surface into real interviews I know this because I am a member of the said site, joined them June this year and having paid the said fees, no employer has made a contact with me till now, talkless of getting a phone interview. All they keep telling me is to continue applying for jobs and i am darn tired of that, what I need is result Though they are probably real but I am yet to see that 'realness'. If you have spare cash to let go, you can give them a trial cos everything in life is about taking risk. This is just my opinion and observation about them, thanks |
I am using this medium to testify and claim my job this week. I lost my job some months back having worked as a telecom Engineer( Bss Field Tx Engineer) with some of the major telecom Operators in the country, with 3 years experience I declare my testimony by faith this week and I receive my offer letters of employment by faith this week in Jesus name, Amen! Amen Please Join me if you have this faith and believe it will work for you too |
The joy of eating this yam ehhh, seriously. The yam was even prepared the same night and pounded yam with nice egusi soup with chicken was prepared. I was just happy eating the pounded yam because the yam emanated from the backyard of the house. Even the chicken that was used for the egusi soup was from the small poultry he has. And in addition to the yam plantation, he planted plantains, bananas, 2 coconut trees already yielding big and delicious coconuts and lots of different varieties of vegetables. Seriously, I just told him, "Dad, this is awesome". You wouldn't believe how the neighbours reacted on sighting the yams alone, they were just longerthroating for the yams. Lol I am also thinking of doing something similar ; cos it seems it is the right thing and funful thing to do, eating the things you planted yourself, please let's all embrace Agriculture no matter how small. E se, thank you! |
My Popman happens to have considered Agriculture as an hobby, though he works with one of these new generation banks. He plants several things at his backyard, ranging from Yam, Corn, vegetables etc He showed me some of the things he planted when I came home today. I was really surprised seeing the yam he harvested from only one ridge (which yorubas call Ebe), and this really shows that if everyone could just get involved in Agriculture, things would be much easier. See the harvested yams below

I happen to stumble on the bitgold site, just like the bitcoin site where you invest your money in gold per gram and you watch it grow. The naira equivalence of your gold is displayed in Naira which you can claim as you reach 1gram of gold. You get the value in Naira. A new feature was just added, which is the bitgold prepaid card, which is just like the payoneer card where your gold value is deposited and you can useit anywhere in the world where master card ATMs are accepted. Though I have been on the platform since August this year, I wasn't too serious with it untill lately. To register, please follow my link and register through me, this way you are credited with some gold and I am also credited and it grows from there, you can also invest some money depending on you BitGold.com/r/jIM2wX You can copy the link to your browser and use it for registration Thanks |
This is getting out of hand, and I don't know if this is only happening in my area or everyone else is experiencing it too. Just this morning, I was called that the PHCH brought their bill and left it at the gate, on checking it, the accumulated bill for this month reads approximately 10,000 Naira. This is an Area in Ikorodu, Odongunyan to be precise and it's becoming a norm for this PHCN officials or whatever title they go by and it is really becoming worrisome. Their estimated monthly tariffs can't be justified for any reason because I don't believe a 3 Bedroom apartment should be getting such outrageous amount of money incurred on electricity consumption. Please Fashola, now that you are there, something urgently needs to be done to save us from this annoying bills. Are you experiencing such ridiculous monthly utility bills, please let's speak out against this trend from these power companies before something else happens. Cc Lalasticala |
Bros, that's a Racoon you have there. Typically, they have a black stripe like mark across the face and rings like marks along the length of the tail. P.S: If you have ever seen the cartoon pacahonthas back in the days, the animal that belongs to that indian girl is a Racoon and you have just seen this cool animal. Anyways, any animal in Nigeria is termed 'Bush meat' ![]() |
This pictures denotes a state of great need vis-a-vis a state of complete freedom. But because the present need to overcome cold ( a result of unclothedness), he took d sticks that make up d stairs of d ladder and use it to make fire to resist d cold. This is just a short term effect and once d fire goes out, he would return to his state of need (cold). He exchanged freedom for warmth, though through ignorance, if he had endured the struggle of climbing coupled with the cold from the height and just managed to escape to d other side, he would have been a free man. He instead did otherwise to satisfy his present pressing need This is just my take on d pics |

Na just say we too dey label cats as winch for Naija!
