Politics / Re: Tinubu Hails Tunji-Ojo Reforms As Interior Minister by walexy1(m): 8:02pm On Feb 28
I can boldly say the minister is working. We had to renew our passports which had exipred; myself, my wife and kid.

We have been hearing various saddening news of passports renewal delays and I was very skeptical.

I did the registration for the 3 of us and went to the Nigerian High Commission in London. We did the capture and you wouldn't believe it, we received our passports the third day without paying any body.

We went on a Tuesday and on Thursday mornin, I heard somebody pressed on the bell and when I went to get the door, it was some guy from a courier company. He handed the passports to me. I couldn't keep quiet, I was just smiling and calling everyone that cared to listen to me.

He's working!!

Na this kind weather I dey like I swear. Where you have to wear multiple layers of clothes. No the one hear in Nigeria. Heat go dey flog you even when you naked finish heat go still dey flog you.

I used to think of same before.

In Nottingham where I am presently at, though the temperature is now manageable at 6 degrees Celsius. But compared to some 2 or 3 weeks back, we were hitting -5 degrees and it wasn't funny at all. Even the heater couldn't handle the cold and we had to put on layers and layers on winter jacket and sweat shirts at once. So I cam only imagine what Canada looks like. My wife's Aunt in British Colombia in Canada called the other day and they were at -34 degrees. I felt really scared!!!! Cold is different from extreme .
Forum Games / Re: Can You Provide The Correct Answer To This Puzzle? Photo by walexy1(m): 10:39am On Dec 10, 2022
Correct answer is 10.

Step 1: The first 3 wine bottles equates to 3 unit per bottle....equ (1)

Step 2: The second line has a wine bottle and a green bottle, from equ..(1), a wine bottle is 3, this means 8 - 3 equal 5. This means the green wine bottle is 5 unit.

Step3: from step 1, we know a wine bottle is 3 unit, hence it means the 2 glass bottles will be (7 - 3) / 2 each equals 2 unit each for a filled glass and a half glass is 1 unit.

Step4: 1 wine bottle + 2 half-filled glass cups x 1 green bottle: in operations, multiplication comes before addition:
Hence 2 half-filled glass cups × 1 green bottle = (1+1) + 5 = 7

Lastly, 1 wine bottle + 7 gives 3 +7 = 10

Final answer is 10
Foreign Affairs / Re: London’s River Thames Shrinks As Extreme Heat, Looming Drought Dry Up Source by walexy1(m): 8:45pm On Aug 05, 2022
Well, it was expected because the heat in July was terrible.

I saw many people walking on the streets wearing nothing but a short wondering about while the ladies wear very light tops, almost waking naked. It wasn't funny at all. I recored temperature of 40 degree Celsius. Even in the house, our windows and doors were constantly opened, wearing only shorts and sweating like a Christmas goat!

It was even more terrible because only a few people have air-conditioners installed in their residences, na heater full everywhere. I pray that kind of temperature don't occur again. I was feeling so sorry for my Son, had to constantly cool him down with cold water.

So, I am not surprised River Thames is receding and drying up due to the heat. The news says more heat is on the way now. I tire ooo.

LofiLogic:

Everybody don dey learn dis dart ooh

Dart as a statically typed language is simple and similar to kotlin, and swift. If you have been writing vanilla Javascript before or any other programming language, it will be very easy to pick up. Plus you use it with Flutter. Flutter is a framework used for designing beautiful UI as everything is a widget. You use Dart as the programming language here.

I started with vanilla Javascript back then, I moved into Angular 2, then to ionic. Actually developed some apps with this. I finally decided to settle with Dart as I love the language with its features. I have done large projects using pure flutter with Dart to design multiple platform applications. You can check it out here on
https://mimacon-web.netlify.app/

I also wrote a game with it, using Flame framework. Though this is still under development. Check it here at http://invaders-game.netlify.app/

Its an application designed for meter installations, analysis, and control. Though still under test with sample data.

To test, use, username as testmimacon@gmail.com and password: test123

I wrote just one code base, for android and then spin out another for the web, primarily, web app. I can write for ios and desktop from this same code base if I wish. This is the beauty of flutter plus dart.

You would love it, try it out!!!!

I think GTBank's GTWorld mobile app has the best and appealing UI for customers. Which one do you think is the best?

In my opinion, I think Wema bank has the best UI. GTBank's just 'there' and they don't even update the app. The last time I think it was updated was in December 2020. I purposely went to the android playstore to check their last update. I was pretty disappointed!!

Politics / Re: Abidemi Rufai Reportedly Stole $350,000 From US Government - Court by walexy1(m): 7:13am On Aug 11, 2021
These guys always look for loopholes in a system and "heavily" exploit these.

I mean using variants of an email address, separated by dots, they are able to beat the system without been identified. When the variants of these addresses are resolved eventually, they all become one and same address, which all the benefits claim are then sent to.

This is exactly what hackers do, find a loophole or backdoor and exploit it!!

Terrible indeed, using their skills for the wrong reasons instead of channeling it rightly!!

Programming / Re: Can Developers Do Without The Use Of Google Or Stackoverflow? by walexy1(m): 11:57am On May 26, 2021
That is a million dollar question.

Anyways, as a developer, stackoverflow is the next destination when I get some funny errors in my console when writing programs.

You get answers to virtually any programming issues you encounter. This is because someone must have asked such questions before and received answers. So, to answer your question, you can't do without stackoverflow.

For your javascript question, I would say there's no need cramming anything. Your daily usage of these things would make it become a second nature to you in solving real life challenges.

By the way, I write softwares in dart and flutter!

Who still learns java and swift for mobile app Dev when cross platform languages are gradually taking the show

Exactly my point! There are cross platforms, like the Google Flutter, even Ionic, etc.

Development is rapid, better with awesome UIs and more beautiful!!
Programming / Re: What Language Do I Need To Learn For Software Development? by walexy1(m): 5:20pm On Apr 12, 2021
Throwing in this!!

Learn Dart plus Flutter!

Dart is Google's own programming language developed by Goolgle and is simple to learn. Its shares syntax closely with java and it is a typed language.

Flutter is framework with which you can build beautiful UI (User Interface) where everything is a widget. The framework depends on Dart as the programming language.

I will tell you for free that the beauty of Flutter lies in the fact that with a code base, you can develop for more than 3 platforms: Android, iOS, web, desktop(new addition to the family) and even PWAs.

You would love it, give Flutter a trial!

This is nice! I am into games and I have written some games in the past and presently writing others. Its not easy when your game is not recognized, but that being said, it also depends on the type of games you are building.

I will release a new game very soon and hope people would love it. By the way, I write in Kivy, Pygame and recently phaser.

I love writing codes and games especially though lack of electricity and trying to figure out certain bugs can take you time, but it's still very nice!!!
