Justwise, this your antispambot needs urgent repair! @Lawland, I can see you are enjoying Sydney, do have a great time here, if you want to see more African ladies visit the African night club at Oxford street, Darlinghurst. Its the festive seasonof christmas and many African groups will have several parties, African professionals, Sydney chapter will have an end of the year party soon, I hope to see you there! Hey Chookudi, congratulations on securing your visa after much hassle and welcome to Sydney in advance. Sydney is a very nice and multicultural city and University of Sydney is one of Australia’s best universities and my alma mater. Please be well prepared for your studies because the academic system here is quite intensive and extremely demanding that you may not have the time to work if you cannot manage your time appropriately. There is a lot to be done in your academics; from assignments, (2,000 to 7,000 word essays) tutorials to single and group presentations. Unisydney medical and pharmacy schools are no pushovers, you may find yourself spending an entire day at “Bank building” computer lab. Lecturers are very friendly, seek their support when you encounter any problem with their courses. The university will provide lots of support if you find your studies challenging, there is the “learning centre “that will provide extra tutorials and academic support at no cost. When you are fully registered with the university, you can obtain your “myuni” which consists of a special university email address and a password that gives you access to computers in all Unisydney libraries and computer labs and your elearning site or blackboard. Myuni can be obtained at IT support services at level 2, Wentworth building computer lab, (Camperdown campus) As for work, if you are on a student visa, I am not sure you will be allowed to work in a professional capacity. Pharmacists earn well but this field is a bit competitive here, I do not know if you have their professional registration or license. There are jobs in Sydney but do not limit yourself to a particular sector or job. You must be open to all possibilities including cleaning, labouring and even farming. Europeans and Asians have taken over the farming sector (yes! Graduates for your info). When you obtain your myuni, you can search for jobs at the university careerhub, alternatively, you can visit their office at level five, Jane foss Russel building, Camperdown campus. The career section conducts several free tutorials on effective and productive job search. So avail yourself this opportunity. To improve your prospects of securing a job in Syndey and elsewhere in Australia, you will need to do some certificate programs lasting between 4 and 8 weeks. It may be advisable to arrive early to commence any program of your choice if you have ways to sustain yourself financially during this period. A car or at least, a driver’s license, will improve your chances of securing a job by over 80%. In Oz, owning a car is a necessity and not a manifestation of affluence. (Visit Parramatta road for varieties of cheap rides). If you already know how to drive, please bring along your Nigeria driver’s license because that makes it a lot easier to obtain an Aussie license here. If you do not know how to drive, it will be cheaper for you to learn this in Nigeria before coming to OZ. Driving lessons in Sydney are from AUS $50 per hour. Be smart! Jobs are getting more competitive by the day with the inflow of immigrants especially from Asia. |
Jman06: There's difference between low sperm count and sterility. I think low sperm count is often exaggerated especially by women. A man whose sperm count is relatively low can still father a child if he has se.x with a fertile woman, except in few cases of sterility when the sperm count is abysmally low or there's no sperm at all. Sterility could result from undescended scrotum, damages to the testes due to accident or genetic disorders that lead to incomplete division of sperm cells. However, these cases are rare. In Nigeria today, what we consider as culprit for infertility is low sperm count which in many instances is a ploy to divert attention from the real cause of the problem. How about the so many premarital D and Cs? The ps 4 and ps 2s, the gynaecocids etc? The truth is that any healthy and well fed man who is not can impregnate a fertile woman. All these stories about low sperm count in most cases are larger than life. My advice to the men is that if your family doctor says that you are infertile, make sure you consult another doctor without the knowledge of your wife and family doctor to know the true state of your fertility because some women can do anything to put the blame for infertility on men.Men and their superego. A man who is sterile most likely has azoospermia that is zero sperm count and some with low sperm count also have poor sperm motility and abnormal sperms( sperma with two heads, chromosomal aberration etc). Male factor is responsible for about 40% of infertility issues same with female factors while about about 20% do not have any traceable cause. It is good to know that every act of intimate enjoyment" has a risk of infections, for both man and woman, only a minute percentage manifest obvious symptoms, some disappear without any trace while some go on to silently destroy organs of reproduction. Men often feel too complacent to admit they have a problem because of the patriarchal nature of our society which apportions every blame of ill luck on to the woman. Many women have been killed, laid off their matrimonial homes or subject of intense emotional abuses because of infertility or inability to bear male children, often the fault of the male partners. This is a wake up call for men to own up to their problems so that early, effective and definitive solutions can be given to the problem of infertility |
moscobabs: pls can man infertility causes miscarriage for woman.sombody should pls help oooA man who is infertile cannot impregnate a woman, and infertility in a man cannot lead to miscarriage in woman. |
dvdon:Hahaaaa, look at this man, you poured your water into condom and assumed it contains sperms, for your information those complaining of infertility also poured plenty of water and I am sure they have poured more water than you during series of testing. Better go for your own sperm count and don't be deceived into believing that the mere sight of 2 MLS of akamu means that you are fertile. Wake up from your slumber! |
I thought many third world countries including Nigeria have similar policies, retail businesses are usually preserved for the locals and if foreigners must engage in this type of business, a significant proportion of it must be controlled by the locals. This is not new, the problem remains that many countries with such laws are too corrupt to enforce them. |

There are some job websites for you: Indeed.com.au Seek.com.au Jobseeker.com.au Babysitter.com.au Mycareer.com.au Gumtree.com.au/Sydney Jobsearch.gov.au Careerone.com.au Jobs.com.au You can walk into offices with your CV, this is stressful but also effective Going through agents Is a very effective way of securing a job in Sydney, I will advise that you do not deal with any online agent, visit their offices. Most agents do not charge agency fees before getting you a job as it is against Australian laws, they only deduct an agreed percentage usually not more than 5% from your wages over a period of time after getting you a job. If you do not know how to shave yourself, there is still time to learn otherwise you learn by force after parting with $70 and above per shave! Best wishes as you arrive in Oz, |

I miss the ever busy and noisy Oshodi, molue and the lousy bus conductors |
Tony Abbott needs serious prayers. He is slowly but steadily blocking every channel through which foreigners can benefit from Australia. God is our guide, you all will get your respective visas. I have learnt a lot from this informative thread, please let's avoid vulgar languages here. |
Op is truly a kid, I doubt if he has seen the four walls of a secondary school. Junior secondary school integrated science should be able to answer all his questions. Op, please never mind, when you grow up you will be able to get answers to your questions. |
@ Lawland, there are many shops in Sydney where one can buy African food stuffs, and may not need to stress himself transporting them from home and they are very cheap here. I am not trying to discourage you from bringing in condiments from home. There are African shops at Paramatta (Church street), Liverpool (Railway street, about 45 metres away from Liverpool station), Enmore (Enmore street, approximately 40 metres from Newtown station). Yam, cocoayam (Ede oku and the other type for bitterleaf soup), crayfish, assorted fruits and fresh vegetables including green, okro, ewedu etc can be purchased at Paddys Market, Flemington - the biggest fruit market in Sydney just right there at the Flemington railway station. For cheap and fresh groceries visit Aldi, Coles, Woolworths, Iga and Reject shops; miracle eye, Hay market at China town close to central station and food works for Asian food stuffs like indomie and the other "orisirisi" including toad and octopus ![]() For clothings, visit Kmart, every suburb in Sydney has at least, one branch of all the big players in grocery and clothing bussness, when you arrive visit their websites to locate the nearest branch to your area of residence. Ensure your mobile device has google map to enable you navigate with ease because asking people for direction often gives them the perception that you are an Illiterate though most will not hesitate to help. Catch your Sydney buses, ferries and trains in time using 131500.com.au. Remember that eating out with friends is on a "Bring Your Own" basis, that is, if a friend invites you to a meal in a restaurant, you pay for whatever you consume and the friend pays for his. If you are a Catholic, you can join them every second Sunday of the month for Igbo service at St Oliver Plunket catholic church, Harris Park, Paramatta and that gives an opportunity to meet the Igbo comuniity in Paramatta axis. |

Naija, a country of signs and wonders never ceases to amaze me |
Please stop this insult on albinos, its very bad. They are humans like you and I, just a slight deficit in skin colouration. I pray God blesses you with at least 2 of them. |
OP, sorry at your problem, you seem to have chronic otitis media which can be difficult to treat at times and can cause deafness. Please do not hate your mum - I believe she must have done her best concerning your predicament. Your problem can be solved and you need to adhere strictly to instructions while the treatment lasts. Like somebody has suggested, you need to see an ENT surgeon in a government hospital, that is where you can get the best specialist treatment although you have to be patient especially when you do not arrive at the hospital early enough of. I hope you do shield your ears from water while taking your bath and when you are out in the rain, because no antibiotics can cure otitis media when you keep providing the micro organisms with a favourable condition (moisture) for growth and multiplication and possible antibiotics resistance. |
This is sickening and many are located in close proximity to residential buildings, their midnight shouts and singing won't let people sleep, church proliferation, their siting and level of noise should be properly regulated. ![]() |
This old news again, I thought their case had been sorted out. Those ladies were on scholorship and were barred from working so they risked deportation after they flouted the rule. They did not overstay their visa. They stayed back in Canada pending court ruling on their case and are being assisted by their church as well. Nairaland and fake news |
UBKtech: My host is a dr, he says you have to have full registration with their medical board before you can apply under skilled migration, the snag is that getting full registration is very very difficult from outside australia. Most drs here were sponsored thru the Business Long Stay 457 route. It's not that difficult, the Indians are making it so Nigerians should do better. Moreover, Nigerians are doing well in USMLE which is more difficult than AMCE. One needs an IELTs minimum score of 7 in all bands, to apply for the first stage of the exam which can be written in India and some other centres outside Oz. |

[quote author=Scramble]Watermelon, thanks. No, i hav no discharge frm my joystick and no pain felt during intercourse or urinating. Yes i hav a fiancee and she's tested positive to staph infection too, though has not started showing symptoms. She was treated later. We are at our early 30's. Blessed! [/quote Sorry, I have not been around to attend to your qerries. From you answer to my initial questions, its most likely that you and your partner were not treated well, and these are the likely reasons: You did not take antibiotics for the correct number of days, Staph are very stubborn organisms and may have been resistant to the antibiotics you used. Suggestions You and your partner need to visit a hospital that offer STI services, try the nearest teaching hospital, that's your best bet. Both of you will be tested at the same time before and after treatment. Treatment should last for a minimum of 10days |
Ariel detergent, it makes my skin glow, |
@American visa, do you mind Omorajaye, by the time he is done with parking fees, he may be forced to resell the liability at a price way below the initial cost. ![]() |
surveyor1: Good bro. We go hook. Am coming to Penrith. Western Sydney. How e go be oooo. Part time jobs baba. Tips abeg. Man can't drive ooo. LoolPenrith is a nice suburb and not far from Inner west. Bros learn to drive ooh lol, thats a must to improve your prospects of securing a job in Sydney, 2k or thereabout should be able to get you a tokunbo ride. That was one of the main reasons Billionaire was able to get a job within weeks of arrival in Sydney - I haven't read his posts lately. Please, don't narrow your search to a particular field and you may need addtional training for few weeks to be able to secure some jobs and you may be lucky to get sponsored by an employer. Try this site for jobs, I hope I don't get banned again again. http://www.studyandwork.com.au/jobseekers/register-recruitment-agency-sydney.php |
surveyor1: Cheers pal. Are u in Sydney or where in Aussie?Bros, I'm in Sydney, Inner West |

Just advice any job I can get quick as a student to keep bills runningMan relax! There are jobs waiting for you in Sydney. Be smart, don't narrow your search to a particular field and come with enough money to sustain you for few weeks to months while waiting to secure a job. You may be lucky get one in your first week. Please note that about 80% of jobs in Sydney will demand that you have a car or at least a driver's licence so be prepared for this. Cheers |
