Jesus defined what he meant by "power," in the book. He says that compared to his own signs and wonders, you will perform even greater ones. That doesn't mean being overly protected, because you're going to die regardless of protection. If you like, rent an Abrams tank and customize it as your living quarters. The Grim Reaper will still come to us all. It means miracles, signs and wonders. There is no better way to bring sinners to Christ than showing them the manifestation of Christ live. That's how Christ did it in the book. He was healing people left, right, and center. Whole cemeteries woke up after he died, hundreds of dead people entered the market.

What am I missing? Jesus wasn't performing miracles through people. He performed it ON people, blind could see, lame could walk, entire cemeteries opened and released their dead who simply vanished from history. Stuff like that. There are a lot of physical evidences to prove His existence - the bible , pilgrimage , there are well-documented evidences apart from the bible etc . And you are getting it all wrong , you have to do away with many misconceptions. Like

Christ did not appear to Thomas only just to clear his doubt , but to reach out to generations after who will know Him by reading the bible , by learning from the personal experiences of others . Thomas represented these generations , he stood in our place . Thomas' doubt signified our uncertainties about his existence , our unanswered questions . So through Christ's appearance to Thomas who doubted him , we 2,000 years after have been reached out to .

Most atimes we all get scared of professing our faith. For example:
You see a Catholic who cannot say the grace before meal or make the sign of the cross because he/she is outside.
You see a christain who is afraid to share the gospel either in their place of work or in the bus because they are scared of what people might say.

You believe America exists because your brain has encountered a sufficient amount of information that corroborate the fact. There is a unanimous agreement among intelligent humans that the country exists, regardless of ethnicity, race, or creed. Malams will slap you just as sooner as an evangelical Christian or an atheist for suggesting that America is fictional. That usually is a good indicator. In addition to that, there are steps that YOU can take in this life to verify the claim that America is a real country. You don't have to DIE first. There are airports that you could visit that show the flight times on big TV screens. Someone could send you a text showing the phone number, you could get a visa like others who "claim" to get visas. To dismiss that evidence is to acknowledge a global conspiracy that is hell-bent on deceiving only YOU. There are lots of physical evidence.

The evidence for Jesus is very simple. He talks to other mammals today, even caring to predict the outcomes of Premier League matches through TB Joshua. Why can't he talk to those who doubt his existence? He talked to Thomas in the book. In the book, he says that if you believe in him, like 30% of humans claim they do, then someone should have moved a mountain somewhere. The "Atheist faith" you mean is simply wisdom . You have the adrenaline rush when you encounter danger , or trying to get away from something that could harm you . Its God-given , you experience it naturally.

If you are facing danger , wisdom entails you to run away from it . Its more of common sense you know . Heaven helps those who help themselves but that does not mean God won't help you if you truly believe in Him

Atheists have the faith of the biblical Thomas. It requires confirmation by the senses, like prior visual observation or experience. Thomas didn't believe that Jesus came back to life either, until Jesus appeared before his own two eyes and he used his own hand to touch the spirit corpse person. Mind you that this was someone who supposedly witnessed other miracles with his homeboys, including resurrections!! He had NEVER OBSERVED someone resurrecting HIMSELF before so he didn't believe it. I'm just like that Thomas person. I don't even believe Jesus exists because I haven't observed him or witnessed his manifestation in my entire life. I think I get your point, but your delivery is wrong. The late Christopher Hitchens used to say that there are some atheists who really wish that something or someone can prove them wrong. Your comment applies to those guys.

But there are many who don't even like the Abrahamic God in the first place, and would disobey it even if it was real. The God would be a bloodthirsty, dictatorial villain, and they would refuse to follow his demands, just like some North Koreans prefer death over servitude to their own dictator.

I'm in a third class. I too hate the Abrahamic God, but I would be among those willing to tolerate the despotic regime if the fantasy were to come true. Remember that brave dude from the Chronicles of Riddick? The one who publicly refused to bow before the Lord Marshall in New Mecca? I'm not that brave, or heat resistant for that matter.

Atheism requires nothing except the observation of reality and nature. If you were to purchase a brand new 2015 vehicle and fill up the tank with gas, it still requires some level of faith to assume that the car will crank up after you push the START button. But that faith is based on observation of reality and nature. I have driven cars with only 3 or 4 miles on the odometer, and they always cranked up when I pushed START.

You guys practice another kind of faith, the blind one. Blind faith is the equivalent of picking up a stone, pouring gasoline on it, and expecting the thing to turn into a car. The observation hasn't been made in nature. Manufacturers don't make cars that look like small stones.

Christians use atheist faith when it is necessary. They will go to hospitals or take their children to hospitals to seek treatment. They will put gas in their cars without assuming that the God will make it work without gas. They will flee the sound of gunfire without assuming that the God will bend the bullets away from their direction.

Atheist do all the same things. However, we don't talk to ourselves and pretend that there is someone else there listening. Why? It's easy to determine if someone is in a room with you or not. Use your eyes to look, look behind fixed structures. Use the same sense you use to take your children to the doctor or to run from gunfire. If you see no one, then there is no one there. I haven't seen any spirit looking person trailing a Christian before.

I couldn't think of any MALE on earth who would allow his girl to get away with that story. That was the threshold of my credulity. My brain rejected that story like an antigen from another galaxy. The rest of the book fell apart like a stack of dominoes.
