There's nothing wrong with deism IMO. It's only the divine dictation part that troubles me. Why are they lying about speaking to the thing that started the universe? They're clearly lying because the description of the thing sounds like a super human being.

Let's agree that something started the universe. Let's agree to call that something God. Why would the thing call God then dictate a book to one or two human beings and ask them to share it among the rest?
