If you check very well Statistics, supply chain and data management are all social science courses. they are all related in one way or the other for you to proof this is either in your SOP when explaining and make sure you show your transcript to show that you have gone through these courses and your Job description on data management and administrative support should also be well explained. it all depends on you. I don't mean to denigrade the forum. It's important to bounce off ideas, but at the end of the day don't simply go by what you hear here, trust your instincts too. It's important to have a relationship with what you studied in the past, but by no means have no fear of making changes in your career and explain it to a VO. It is God who is in control.

Me i am almost faint with anticipation, i applied April 27th and i tracked my application on the 28th of June to find out that my Process Passport has been dispatched. People i didnt do Medicals (neither did i do premedicals). i hear that it might not be a good sign, well.

Now i have to wait 6 working days and trust me i already feel faint with anitcipation.

With respect to obtaining a supervisor before applying, @osemigho and @jnyuwa02, both have valid points.

However, getting one is always encouraged. Most unis dont require you to get a supervisor before applying but if you can get one, please do.

There is no hard rule for admission except the fact that the application package is reviewed wholistically...

I am not confusing anyone bro. If your program wants you obtain a supervisor, they will tell you. It's not a hidden secret left for you to decipher. If they don't, they will tell you. I applied to nine Canadian schools and programs. Many wanted me to obtain supervisors and I did. An equal number didn't want me to obtain supervisors and I didn't. They are appointed to you if you are admitted. Contacting and obtaining a supervisor at a school that did not ask you to obtain one is extraneous and will not give you an edge. If you got in, it's the power of your credential and what you had to write on your thesis proposal. Funny enough, almost all the school's I got into are the ones that require me NOT to obtain a supervisor. All the schools I got rejected are the ones that require me to get supervisors and I did. For example I got into Queens with almost full scholarship and a supervisor is not appointed until I step on campus. I turned down the offer anyways as well as those of 5 other schools.

@jnyuwa02 please baba. Don't get people confused biko. You stated that your school doesn't required supervisor to be contacted before you apply? You are wrong brother. Your dept doesn't require does not mean the school doesn't also require. Your school is USASK and that's also my school. I contacted many supervisor before I secured one. And again to my people not all supervisors gives funding ooooo, some may accept to supervise without funding but they might recommend you for scholarships when the time comes. I will butress what @Osemigho said if you are told not to seek for supervisor before applying and you know you are going for MSc research program please do contact and get feedback because on most application form you will be asked to select faculty advisors you wish to work with. If you have contacted anyone before that time it will be very easy to pick up your file by the prof you contacted during faculty review of admission. My tot and experience during admission process in university of Saskatchewan, mechanical eng dept. Have a nice day people.

Ok. What are your school and program, It's fees and your total scholarship? I am also interested in knowing your profile.

My advise is from a friend experience with university of Alberta. The program didn't mandate getting a supervisor but he got one which he indicated on his application form.

He got admission with full scholarship and travel reimbursement, as well as his appointment as a TA to his indicated supervisor. I wonder what would have happened if he didn't contact any, considering the program is among the top 5-10 and his TA was attached to the man he contacted.

You may have been lucky that your profile was high enough, but to say that getting a supervisor doesn't give an edge in this case is wrong. I repeat, when two or more profiles compete at the same level, the one with faculty support is more likely to win than others.

let him stand as a co sponsor since he can proof the source of fund. But please include his birth cert to show relationship and all documents to show proof of fund also let him write a letter address to the embassy what he has been doing and why he choose to help you. Let him include his tuition fee receipt where he is schooling .......generally and importantly let him submit enof document to show proof of funds and how he get am. My tot. Others can add more.

This is a step by step approach; i ve asked how to do this severally but no one cared to answer...here it is.



(1) Go to this below listed link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
(2) Click on continue to Gckey
(3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
(4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account.
(5) Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as Study Permit and extension.
(6) Then select Family name, given name and date of birth option.
(7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or application form.
(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.
(9) Enter your course start date given on your offer letter exact same as that.
(10) Enter course end date as on offer letter only month and year is given so enter that only don't select the date.
(11) Enter your DLI no. same as given on the offer letter.
(12) Next search for your application.
(13) Your application will be found and can be linked.
(14) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.

I was getting errors and tried the same with mine and it worked so hopefully it ll work for everyone.
