Hello people,
Please your help is really needed. Am a graduate of management from university of Nigeria nsukka Enugu campus. At the moment I applied for a second degree in university of Alberta for a second degree in business economics. Admission has been granted but am skeptical I may be denied visa when I have to apply for a study permit. Please advice me should i apply for study permit or permanent residency to avert any possibility of visa denial. Over 5years work experience in personnel management. School begins by 1st sept 2017. This will allow me to study and work in canada while I get grounded with the vast Canadian culture and economic environment.

bro congrats first. And again it depends on you if you want to go ahead and apply now ahead of sept 1st resumption date. Again you can only apply for temporary residence permit/study permit. If you want permanent resident permit then you need to try out EE...aka express entry. Advice gather your documents in faith and apply but don't be skeptical.

They never said anything about linking at VFS, they just issued me a paper to use to come pick my passport ehrn its out. Must every paper applicant link their application or aren't they supposed to send me mail and ask me to link.

Madam too much questions......You asked the house to help you in linking your application to online and they all did. what else do you want mpok okay linking your paper application to online will enable you to see the different and quick timelines and update of your application progress. when you link you will see a place where you will be asked if you want to receive message from IRCC monthly or otherwise....you then choose what you want. example when i submitted in vfs for a week i didnt get any message from even VFS that my application has been submitted to Ghana. so please link and get up to date progress of your application and you will also be able to view whats happening on your portal. Thanks

For those who wish to link their paper apps online....This is a step by step approach; i ve asked how to do this severally but no one cared to answer...here it is.



(1) Go to this below listed link

(2) Click on continue to Gckey
(3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
(4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account.
(5) Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as Study Permit and extension.
(6) Then select Family name, given name and date of birth option.
(7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or application form.
(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.
(9) Enter your course start date given on your offer letter exact same as that.
(10) Enter course end date as on offer letter only month and year is given so enter that only don't select the date.
(11) Enter your DLI no. same as given on the offer letter.
(12) Next search for your application.
(13) Your application will be found and can be linked.
(14) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.

I was getting errors and tried the same with mine and it worked so hopefully it ll work for everyone.

Note : In 24 hours you can try only 5 times to link your application and if you exceed that then you have to wait for 24 hours, so be careful about that.

Second question, trying to change land papers and get a deed in my name, from my mother's name. How is this done? Just trying to show home times. Or will also suffice if I left it in my mother's name. Mother not my sponsor, school in Canada is. Thanks in anticipation.

To your second question Baba J. to me you don't need to change mum's name to your. Just kindly state in your SOP that you and your mum unanimously agreed to you use her land for any project related to your field of study to developed youth or nigeria when you come back home to 9JA. attache all her land papers even thou she is not your sponsor.

As soon as I finish gathering all my documents I am headed. I am applying for their visa right now. It's only three weeks average processing time there. So sometime in July I will be headed. You guys should not start flooding Cameroun when I become successful ooo. Hahaha. Bro my application took less than 5weeks to approved and i was going for fall term but applied in January 31st and got approved in March 8th. Check @Deckonne and Piethewitch application on the trv hopeful list you will see that their application is bearly less than 4weeks. WHO SAYS you cant get it in less than 3weeks here in Nigeria? dont make this mistake please you dont reside in cameroun. You are going to SASK this September and you are on full funding again, biko apply here and you will get it before resumption date i believe God for that in your application. but if you choose to go NO P then bye and goodluck......my 10 dollar offer to you

as long as you live in Nigeria please do it. its part of the requirement. as for @Mazuide he applied from China and it may not be a requirement for him. but if you reside here for almost or more than 5years please do it.

Mechanical Engineering Msc. as at last year CGPS is known as CGRS. I didnt get funding but my supervisor said until I showed up before we can talk about any funding. relax please since you have been recommended for admission CGSR will take time to send you your Letter of Admission ....aka LOA. just chill

Same school. University of Saskatchewan. If you can disturb CGSR for them to printout and send your LOA then you are good to go. I have my TRV since March 8th. Just that @Herinco that usually update the house stopped updating and my timeline and update was taken out but i didnt bother to update the house about my profile again. am resuming Sask sept 1st.

I am very certain your Grad coordinator is right. mine took like 4weeks to get my LOA with much pressure on CGSR ooooo. because once you are recommended your application is not within your faculty again is now with CGRS. so it will take 4 weeks. just relax and start gathering your trv documents small small.

Proposed program-Chemical engineering.

Like we often mention here, the proposed program MUST reflect addition to CURRENT activity. In his case, he hasn't been working as a chemical engineer but in a financial institution. They clearly is no need for a master degree in chemical engineering as 4 years is good enough to have a career in the banking industry.

If he finished his degree in chemical engineering recently, he probably would have had a good chance of an approval as it is an advancement of what he studied academically and his purpose would be considered a pure academic exercise.

Your friend's profile demands a PROFESSIONAL advancement with his intended program and not his undergraduate study. It will clearly show that a master degree will add to his current career and this also will show career progression and advancement. It is conviencing this way that he is a genuine student.

So it's either he goes for a program in his role in the bank or show other achievements(research, journals, conferences etc) in chemical engineering since he long left school that will a master in chemical engineering is going to help him moving forward.

Untill he really shows he needs the master of chemical engineering, i'm afraid, he may likely still get refused for purpose of visit if he apply with the master of chemical engineering admission.

bros please I need your help. I have a friend now that got delayed due to purpose of visit. He has been working in a bank for more than 4years now and he did his first degree in chemical engineering and had a masters admission in chemical also. All his document make sense except for the purpose of visit now. What do you think he should now to avert that problem.

My supervisor was the one that asked me to put in for another master with the hope of transferring to phd in the second year so that it will boost my chances of getting scholarship. But I have informed him about the rejection, he promised to give me a letter to the vo, explaining why I was admitted for master and the intention of transferring to phd in2nd year.

Concerning gcms, I would have liked to request for it but the processing time is long and with that i wouldn't be able to make sept entry. And if i differ my admission to Jan, I wouldn't be able to do that for my scholarship and the truth is that without the financial support, I wouldn't be able to finance my study.

baba sorry for the delay. But I will love to know if you did some things in your application. 1. Did you include your bsc transcript to show you have done some course related to space physic? If at at all in your bsc program you did any telecoms related courses? Because to me not all VO are academically inclined in relating courses done in previous and future programs. Please get the letter from your supervisor and probably risk it again if it will be treated by another vo that understands.

Where are the people saying I cannot apply from Cameroun? Congrats bro!! I am still waiting for my official approval admission by the school of graduate studies. Academic Unit already approved admission and full funding $20,000 each year for two years. Graduate studies department takes 2-4 weeks to approve. The wait has been painful. It would certainly mean I cannot apply in Nigeria due to back log.

guy listen if you apply from Cameroun your application will still be treated in Ghana where all Nigerian study permit is treated. And mind you have to be careful with your status in country of residence. Ask @ejaloni to explain to you.

@Austinpee Thanks bro for the response, I have gone through the thread from the beginning to end that was why I was shocked and disappointed that my application was rejected. Going through all ur comments from first to the last I finds out that u are more experience. Your critical analysis is super. That is why I felt if I can be opportune to have a private talk with you, you can pick out one or two flaws in my application. Concerning gcms, the processing time is too long and my application might not meet up with Sept resumption bcoz it was stated on my admission letter that it valid till 8th of September.
