Politics / Re: Tinubu, Nigeria Is Sinking And Streets Are Full Of Tears- Kperogi by wealthtrak: 2:59am On Feb 05
ogododo:

https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2024/02/tinubu-nigeria-is-sinking-and-streets.html
On April 9, 2022, Obi also tweeted: “The truth is that for long market forces have not determined the exchange rate of the Naira…. It has to end. Let the exchange rate be determined by the forces of demand and supply. It’s that simple.”

In other words, Tinubu is doing exactly what Atiku and Obi had proposed they would do, and the results would have been the same. The hyperinflation and hurt Nigerians are going through now won’t have been evaded because it is Atiku or Obi who removed petrol subsidies “from day one.” The naira’s glide to the bottom wouldn’t have been avoided because Atiku or Obi “floated” the naira.

That is why Atiku- or Obi-supporting critics of Tinubu come across as ignorant partisans who have drunk the Kool-Aid of their cult leaders. Atiku and Obi supporters should be grateful that their idols are not president today. They would have been bearing the reputational brunt of the boneheaded, discredited rightwing economic policies they also advocated, which have thrown Nigeria into the current mess.

Interestingly, in response to Obi’s 2022 tweet rhapsodizing over the imperative of subjecting the naira to the “forces of demand and supply,” a supporter of his by the name of Abel (with the handle @governance9ja) wrote a riposte, which has turned out to be prescient. He wrote: “So @PeterObi will float the currency for a country where most factor inputs into local manufacturing is imported? We already have cost push inflation reducing real income of many Nigerians. Floating naira will ruin many households. @PeterObi and @OfficialABAT are two of a kind.”

As a guest here I saw his post on nairaland on charcoal biz with moniker agrobusiness which was later banned but after researching I got his contact through another moniker Ltrust who is into charcoal biz who told me he was not in Kwara presently but he will link me up with someone in Kwara. He gave me the contact and it came out to be agrobusiness moniker number which I have been looking for but from how things turned out I discovered Ltrust and agribusiness abi na Agrocharcoal05 which might later change to agrothief was the same person with different phone numbers.

I contacted agrocharcoal05 and he said he based in Offa in Kwara State….I called his number that I would be coming to Igosun near Offa with a friend to inspect his pig farm so better for me to use the opportunity to see him and he agreed.Reaching Igosun he said he was in Osogbo on a trip that he would make it down. Some hours after after calling.he said he can’t make it to Igosun since he doesn’t know me,fine we are having security issues in Nigeria, nobody to trust.

We now agreed to meet at Total filling station in Offa but to my surprise when I reached total filling station his cell number was switched off, after trying like five times I took my leave to Ilorin. Before reaching Ajase town this guy called that he had a flat battery,no wahala am already on my way, possibly Saturday I should be back….that night I had chats with him to tell more about charcoal biz and what it entails possibly we don’t even need to see and do this biz.

We had nice chats but telling my friends they disagreed that how would I invest millions to someone that ibdon’t know,Okay I agreed and called him that can he make it down to Ilorin I would foot the bills but I had changed of minds cuz Offa is not far from Ilorin and said guy I will make it down….On my way he called and asked have you left Ilorin and I said yes,oh you should have make it tomorrow cuz am busy and he said okay no problem you can make it I will attend to you.

I said look am not the owner of the cash I want to invest, just to let him know how important is the biz, getting to Offa again I called the guy he said he was busy but would soon leave to see me.I waited for more than an hours inside my car, calling him back to back he said he was in Erin Ile a town after Offa and I said no problem I will make it to Erin Ile.He described where I would stopped which was after Erin bridge.I did as he directed me but funny I put a call to him and his replied was “YOU WANT TO KIDNAPPED ME”and I was like what is this trash.I ranted back to him on phone and cursed him which I never did in my life….I just left the place,on my way back the army on boarder between Offa and Erin Ile.I narrated my shocking experience they just smiled and said big man thank God you did not fall victim…my man sincerely I wanted to invest 5 millions but to start with a million first.

Fact,Nairaland is a good place to do biz but we have terrible scammers here who are devils incarnations and ready to defraud.Imagine advertising”Agrobusiness said he need a partner to invest with cus he didn’t have enough of money and the same agribusiness abi na charcoal05 now said I wanted to kidnap him cus of millions he had….very and nasty experience….I registered on nairaland from guest mode to expose this guy….Oga run o.

Modified….Agrobusinees or Agrichacoal05 later tender unreservedly apologies to me and we made up after he narrated what happened to him before that faithful day.He though I was the same person that had earlier contacted him some weeks before our agreed date….We have made up and talked it over in peaceful ways.

Travel / Re: Before You Relocate To Ghana, read This! by wealthtrak: 1:56am On Feb 05
raymondhill:
Are you interested in relocating to Ghana? Are you seriuosly affected by the economic hardship in Nigeria that you believe that Ghana will be a better alternative? Do you want to live and do business in Ghana?

Then, I have good news for you. It is possible to relocate in Ghana if you have the right knowledge that will facilitate your easy and successful relocation.

I have decide to re-write this article to clarify certain issues which some people have misconceptions about since english language is not our native or mother tongue. My sincere apologies to those who may have misinterpreted my last article.

Before you decide to relocate, I must share a few points with you. I believe I am qualified to share this information having lived and made money in Ghana for about 10 years. I have also conducted several Nigerian-Ghana business investment tours, one of which was covered by Ovation West Africa magazine published by Chief Dele Momodu. Now,I want you to know that:

- Ghana is not as economically powerful as Nigeria. There are also more money making opportunities in Nigeria than Ghana.Despite that,Ghana is a land fertile with immense untapped opportunities.

- Most Nigerians are more intelligent, creative and entrepreneurial-minded and so can take advantage of the numerous opportunities which abound in the Country. Most foreigners who relocate to Ghana and are focused, hardworking and law abiding always fare far better financially . I have proven it in my life and I have friends who have done same.

- Most Ghanaians are vastly contented with the little they have;a bit laid -back and superstitious like other African countries and may not necessarily flow with the fast thinking and ability to take high risk mindset of Nigerians. So,you have to know how to communicate with them to get what you want. You can live there for 20 years and make your money if you know what you are doing. Just, make sure you avoid breaking the laws of the land. Also, try to avoid dabbling into their politics. Most Ghanaians are intensely passionate about their party affiliations.Avoid political discussions and affiliation. You are a foreigner and not a politician.Mind your own business.

- Ghana has stable electricity and the peaceful country was once listed as the 6th safest country in the world.

- It is the gateway to West Africa. Therefore,a lot of foreign investors come through Ghana to Nigeria.

- There are business opportunities which Nigerians are taking advantage of. It is not every type of business you can make money from as a Nigerian.

I must warn here that for every Nigerian man to succeed in Ghana like any other place in the world, they must be careful of their women since they can constitute a huge source of distraction. If you are married, keep your status quo.Remember, that behind every successful man there is a woman and behind every unsuccessful man, there is a woman.

But,I summarize this by say that Ghana is one of the loveliest, peaceful and safe place to stay.

But, before you decide to relocate to Ghana, have you prayed about it? Have you sought the face of the Lord? If you are ready to relocate, then go ahead.

Business / Re: 8 Reasons Why You Should Start Your Own Export Business Today. by wealthtrak: 1:35am On Feb 05
raymondhill:
1. You can start your export business on small or large scale.
Export business can be started in your living room. All you require is an internet connection, proper knowledge and source of commodities which you intend to export, and sound knowledge on the export business. You can get the export knowledge from attending trainings, seminars and buying of ebooks from international trade consultants and experts.
In the international trade market, we have small-scale importers who are basically retailers. They usually buy small quantities packaged in boxed and shipped by air to them. There are other buyers who may order for your products in containers and receive it in their countries by ship. Any order can come your way as soon as you start your own export business.
2. You can discover low-cost ways to market and promote your products to overseas market.
As you begin your journey into the world of exporting, you will discover various strategies through which you can market your products and services. These strategies may cost you little or nothing. It may be as easy as just filling a form and you are connected to an order.
3. You can earn thousands of dollars on a monthly or regular basis from 1 or 2 commodities once you gain mastery of the market.
You can earn huge foreign exchange for yourself, business and family. As a rule, I always tell my students to focus on a maximum of seven commodities to export. It gives you the opportunity to master all you need to know about these commodities, how and where to source them and their packaging strategies. In most cases, one or two of these commodities may become a huge money spinner.
I recall a case of a former student who got involved in the export of several commodities. In a short while, he focused on charcoal export and he made huge profits from that. Another student focused on pepper and split dried ginger and that was his goldmine.
4. You can market your products and services through the internet, direct mail, regular mail, fax, phone, twitter, facebook and b2b online platforms.
With my over 20 years experience international trade, I have seen a lot transformation especially in the area of accessing buyers and marketing to them. It has become easier with the years. You can now access genuine buyers via the internet if you follow the tried and tested strategies.
5. You can export several agricultural commodities like palm kernel, moringa seeds, coconut, shea nuts, peanuts, cashew nuts, orange peels, ginger, pepper, kola nuts, grape fruit, pawpaw, pineapples, garlic, mushrooms, onions, ox gallstones, etc
6. You can also export charcoal, precious stones, metals, industrial minerals, handicrafts, finished products, etc.
7. There are countries, who are seriously searching for commodities in your countries and are willing to buy from you at competitive prices to satisfy their demands.
The law of demand and supply is a global phenomenon. What you may find in abundance in your country, may be in great demand in another country. When you join the right network of international traders, you will connect with those who need your commodities and are ready to pay for it. But, you have to be wary of scammers or un-serious buyers. Over the years, I have discovered many of their tricks and have been able to overcome them successfully. I have also helped many of my past students and ebook subscribers to do the same.
8. You can, with expert advice, easily access thousands of potential overseas buyers to export your products to.
You cannot just jump on the internet and grab buyers for your product in a wink of an eye. You need to understand the techniques of accessing genuine buyers with ease. Getting the proper knowledge or information can save you from a lot of hassles and mistakes. Follow expert advice, save money and maximize your profits.

Agriculture / Re: Farmer And Entrepreneur Win $100,000 Africa Food Prize by wealthtrak: 12:23am On Feb 03
commodityport:

A smallholder farmer and an agricultural entrepreneur were jointly awarded the Africa Food Prize Wednesday at the African Green Revolution Forum in Ghana.

Dr. Emma Naluyima from Uganda and Baba Dioum from Senegal were chosen “for their remarkable achievements in demonstrating and promoting innovative and sustainable growth in Africa’s agriculture through improved resource use and market links,” according to a release from the prize committee. They share a $100,000 prize.

Trained as a veterinarian, Naluyima has a one-acre farm that uses a “closed-loop” approach to agriculture. The farm is divided into quarters, between pig, cattle, fish, and vegetable farming. Naluyima uses their waste products for feed, fertilizer, and pesticide. For example, pig waste is used to fertilize the vegetables, and the maggots from the waste are used to feed the fish and chicken. The cattle waste is used to create biogas to provide energy for her farm. She claims to generate about $100,000 per year from the products and livestock she sells from her farm.

Each year, Naluyima educates about 10,000 people who visit her farm on her techniques. She also founded a primary school with about 300 students that integrate agriculture into the curriculum.

“What Emma is doing, is incredibly profound,” Strive Masiyiwa, CEO at Econet Group, said during a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, where the winners were announced. “Don’t say you have nothing. Emma only has one acre — and today she has won Africa’s greatest food prize.”

The other winner, Dioum, has been the coordinator general of the Conference of Ministers of Agriculture in West and Central Africa for nearly three decades. He has led key agricultural reforms in Senegal and promoted the cross-border trade of food staples across West and Central Africa. He is also a leading agribusiness operator in the production and export of mangoes to Europe.

“Rather than turn away from the countryside like so many others, [the winners] have embraced farming, using their talents and knowledge to demonstrate its enormous commercial possibilities. In other words, they practice what they preach, and this lends real credibility to their message about the value of technical and policy innovation in agriculture,” said H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria, who chairs the prize committee, in a release.

Africa has about 60% of the world’s uncultivated arable land. But despite the continent’s agricultural potential, it remains a net importer of food because of challenges including connecting smallholder farmers to markets. It is estimated that a fifth of Africans are undernourished.

The winners were chosen from about 200 nominees, with the committee prioritizing efforts to reduce poverty and hunger, increase employment, and the potential for scalability, among other factors.

The prize is awarded by Yara International, ECONET, Corteva, and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa. Last year, it went to the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture.

Business / Re: Jim Ovia To Earn Over N9bn In Dividends by wealthtrak: 8:22pm On Jan 21
Truth234:
@InvestorsKing

Zenith Bank Plc founder Jim Ovia will earn over N9 billion from his holdings in the bank for the financial year ended December 2018, checks have revealed.

The billionaire owner has a direct stake of 3,546,199,395 shares in the bank. This represents 11.29 per cent of the bank’s 31,396,493,787 shares in issue. Investigations showed the founder may have increased his shares in the bank from the 9.38 per cent stake he had in 2017.

The Bank’s Board of Directors declared a dividend of N2.50 per share, as shown in the financial results filed through the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday. That was in addition to the N0.30 per share paid as interim dividend in 2018. Bringing the total dividend paid for the year to N2.80 per share.

At N2.80 per share, Ovia would earn N9.9 billion on his direct holdings of 3,546,199,395 shares.

The founder also has indirect holdings of 1,513,137,010 shares. This amounts to another N4.2 billion in dividends.

Indirect holding means the founder is a direct shareholder in a firm that owns direct shares in Zenith Bank. If he also owns the entire company, he will earn a combined N13.5 billion in dividends.

Zenith Bank shares rose by 5.63 per cent to N25.35 on Tuesday.

Business / Re: India Offers To Buy N367bn Pulse Beans From Nigeria by wealthtrak: 8:20pm On Jan 21
Truth234:
India has approached Nigeria to supply it with $1billion (about N367 billion) worth of Pulse Beans.

The Director, Agricultural Business, Processing and Marketing, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Azeez Olumuyiwa, made this revelation at a sensitisation workshop on agriculture held for officers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

He said that the offer was tabled by the Indian Ambassador to Nigeria, Nagabushana Reddy, at a parley with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh.

“The Indian ambassador said Pulse Beans is a food variety consumed four to five times daily by Indians. He has offered to buy $1billion worth of the products from Nigeria if we can produce it,” Azeez said.

According to him, India, the world’s second most populous nation, required 27 million metric tonnes of pulse beans. Nigeria’s current production capacity for the produce is about 47 million metric tonnes.

Pulse Beans is a good source of iron and is mainly grown in Bauchi, Bornu States as well as in Shaki, Oyo State.

The federal government has also admitted unease at China’s plan to begin to use bio-ethanol gasoline across the country by 2020.

The use of bio-fuel, seen as an alternative to fossil energy, is discomfiting for Nigeria as China is one of the major buyers of her crude oil.

Rather than continue to import fuel, China wants to focus on bio-ethanol gasoline production which is a derivative sourced from sugarcane and corn.

Ogbeh, who revealed government’s mood on the development, also stressed that two months ago, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, India, Norway and the Netherlands have indicated plans to ban fuel-run cars in about two decades, to reduce air pollution and save fossil fuel energy.

“It is not a particularly soothing news for us because with this development, there will be less demand for oil and gas. By 2030, all these countries will be using electric cars. The only way to prepare us from the revenue that will no longer be available from oil is by focusing on agriculture,” Ogbeh said in a speech read by his Special Assistant, Winifred Ochinyabo.

The minister said that only 44 per cent of Nigeria’s 79 million hectare of arable land was currently utilised, while the country requires six million metric tonnes of rice per annual to feed its large population.

The agricultural workshop was held for the NAF officers to encourage them to embrace farming after retirement.

The programme covered orientation on distribution of inputs materials, warehousing, processing of food, livestock farming, bio-fuel production and running of agric extension work. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar, was represented at the workshop by NAF Chief of Administration, AVM Lawal Alao.

Then about young people speaking Ukwani more, that's also a pure blatant lie too; except those persons grew up in Orogun, or the parents speak it at home alot, because It's usually the older ones who speak more of Ukwani as most of them grew up at Orogun.

Case study being me; I speak only Urhobo, but my parents are very fluent in Ukwani language, my grandparents too. But I wasn't raised up speaking Ukwani, probably because I didn’t grow up in Orogun and my parents only use it to communicate amongst themselves.

Perhaps you're making a honest observation and not one of those mischievous generalizations I may not know, but I hope I've been able to educate you on the topic.

It’s extremely painful to see Ned Nwoko senior neighbour gets married to my 17 year old daughter today - Regina Daniels father weeps

Some excerpts from an exclusive interview between Barrister Jude Ojeogwo who is the biological father of actress Regina Daniels and team Cutiejuls.

When asked how old Regina is, the father said Regina Daniels is turning 18 in October this year.

He also explained that the reason why Rita Daniels has made herself the sole decision maker is because of greed and the fact that her bride price could not be paid due to the fact that her paternal family could not be traced.

He also mentioned that Ned Nwoko is 62 and not 59 as they both grew up in the same compound as young boys.

He also said he spoke to Regina this morning and warned her but Regina told her about what she is getting into but Regina advised its her mother’s decision and that Ned Nwoko is a fine gentleman and she loves him.

He also stated that despite not paying Rita Daniel’s bride price, he has been very responsible for the financial support of all his 4 kids with Rita and that the 2 boys lived with him until recently when the mother advised they move in with her into her new home.

Megabig:
How Tinubu didn’t pick Dogara as his running mate was weird to me, Shettima is a terrible pick, from his meanness to being linked with boko haram, anyways they know better..

Those voting APC in the north are core APC members, to win an election largely, you need an average street hawker to swing to you and I don’t think they will consider Tinubu that much, if APC is not doing at least 70 percent in the northern states, I believe it will be hard for them.

Wike already spoke today and I learnt from his camp that he mentioned to a couple of people that “only a bastar.d will force a vote in his state to support Atiku, that the SS and SE aren’t slave to the north”. Their plan is to remain in the party but be silent instead of forcing votes(you know what that means for Atiku), If Kwankwaso drops his ambition(which may likely happen) and throw his support for Tinubu, that will certainly help APC.

I think this election is between Tinubu and Obi(SE and SS with Obi will never vote Atiku, they would have done so if Rochas or any other SE useless politician was the Labour Party candidate), where will Atiku gather his votes from.

Inec killed APC when they made sure election results are directly sent to inec server from Polling Unit,if you must rig there, you have to accredit the people, forced them to vote you, kidnap the party reps and inec officials to sign and then upload, how many Pooling unit can you do that and with people rejecting money as well and also, the large percentage of educated and right thinking youths in Nigeria. This will spell doom for APC.

You need the low income earners to win this election, only the price of things in the market will force your brain to make that decision.
This is just an analysis….

Y’all should go and get your PVC and vote, make this choice like you are saving your last breathe, it’s going to be bumpy but with the right hands, things can change for the better.

Agriculture / Re: Understanding And Developing Marketing Strategies For Your Vegetables (part 1) by wealthtrak: 11:48pm On Jun 19, 2022
hybridveggies:
Vegetable business can be very interesting business sometimes with mouth-watering returns but the truth remains; not everyone who attempts to do the business of vegetable production will be successful as it is with every business. The problems and the opportunities associated with doing the business must be carefully studied, analyzed and considered. Vegetable production is just one of the elements of the business itself. Asides having proven production techniques and good yield, you need to be able to sell at good price before a good return on your investment can be guaranteed. A sound marketing strategy therefore is of utmost importance to successful business.
Developing an effective marketing strategy takes time, experience and inputs of more experienced farmers as you are about to read in this article. Similar to other businesses, crop farmers are at the mercy of both biotic and abiotic factors beyond their control and this sometime tilt the outcome from within their reach. Reducing risk and managing uncertainty are pivotal to the success of farming business and one of the ways of actualizing that is by developing a good marketing strategy similar to what large corporations do. The procedures required to develop good marketing strategies shall be shared in this article and detail analysis shall be given. Please note that most of the examples used are mostly characterized by the writer’s geographical location but the same principles apply globally.

Steps involve in forming marketing strategies can be categorized into four: None of these steps stand in isolation but are inter-related. For example, deciding on what to produce depends on when and the target market and by extension the packaging structure to employ.
- Decide on target market
- Produce decision and timing
- Price intelligence
- Understand and use of human psychology: Psychology of First impression

DECIDE ON TARGET MARKET
Decision on the choice of market is not just hinge on the market offering the highest price possible but that which fit the circumstances of farmers. Have you every drive along the interior country sides where you see pocket of local farmers putting just one sack bag of harvest by the road side waiting for tricycle or vehicle to convey them home? Can such farmers be targeting urban markets in Lagos for example which are over 1000 km away just because they offer higher prices?
Deciding on the target market is mostly volume dependent. In general, the larger the volume of produce produced, the greater the number of marketing alternatives. Small farmers are limited to local markets while larger farmers can explore the opportunities in regional markets. This principle is exactly what aggregators or vegetable merchants do; they visit on farmers’ market day where every small farmer brings their produce, they buy appreciable quantity and transport such to regional urban markets where it would be sold at higher margin.
For every marketing alternative available, you must realize that there are pro and con to it. The following summarized the likely alternatives available to farmers.

One of the most popular methods of sales of farm produce especially with locals is selling at the farm. It has the advantage in that it limits the risk of selling at uncertain price at the market notorious with vegetables after spending so much on transporting the produce. Transportation of produce using commercial service can often take as much as 20% to 50% of total sales of produce in many occasions. Selling at the farm gate also eliminate the cost of payment for dealership (popularly called “laada” in West Africa). The farmers can also safe themselves of the cost of harvesting depending on the negotiation had with the buyers.
However, it also has its shortcoming. The farmer may be short changed by unscrupulous buyers if the former does not do his/her price intelligence beforehand. Moreover, the farmers may lose the benefit of selling at skyrocketed prices which is often the characteristics of general veggies markets though this may also work for the farmers when price falls (Read on through: http://www.hybridveggies.com/2019/01/understanding-and-developing-marketing.html#more

CLEANSING APPLE AVOCADO SMOOTHIE
1 cup plain unsweetened almond milk
4 cups loosely packed spinach — that's about 2 large handfuls
1 medium avocado — peeled and pitted
2 medium apples — any kind you like, peel on, cored and quartered (if not using a high-powered blender such as a Vitamix, cut into a rough dice)
1 medium banana — cut into chunks and frozen
2 teaspoons honey — or maple syrup plus additional to taste
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger — or 1/4-inch knob of fresh ginger (if not using a high-power blender, mince the ginger first; use less than 1/2 teaspoon if you'd like a more subtle taste. This smoothie has some zip!) Small handful of ice cubes
.
Optional additions: chia seeds — flaxseed, protein powder, almond butter or other nut butter of choice.
.
In the order listed, add the almond milk, spinach, avocado, apples, banana, honey, ginger, and ice to a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness and spices as desired.

Enjoy immediately.
