Romance / Re: 10 Exceptionally Unique Romantic Names You Can Call Your Partner by wealthtrak: 11:21pm On Mar 12, 2022
binarymachine:
A lot of people in relationships have, over time, gotten so used to addressing their partners with conventional romantic names. This is basically because they don’t get to see their partner in some kind of way and, calling them usual pet names feels more better for them. Some call their partners random romantic names, some call their partners by the shortened pr abbreviated forms of their names, some call their partners by a reverse of their names and, some call their partners by whatever sweet thoughts that crosses their mind.

Addressing your partner with an “out of the usual” romantic name (or, names) doesn’t literally translate to you love your partner better than anyone out there; it only connotes that you’re willing to take your love out of the usual to the unusual and, you’re willing to try out new ways of loving him/her. To save the day, y’all will be reading on ten (10) exceptional romantic names that you can call your partner:

Sweet Berry: This can be used for both male and female. Berry is a smallish kind of fruit but, the taste it leaves in your mouth while and after digesting it is wowmazing!

My Special Crown (a.k.a MSC): A crown is naturally associated with royalty. In this co text, the “crown” refers to how much value you place on your partner. It’s It’s unisex name.

Fresh Wine: Wine gets more unique and better as it ages. Your partner will feel ,ore awed to hear you address him/her with such an amazing title as “FRESH WINE”.

My Honour: If premium respect lives with you both, then, honour will naturally flow from you to him/her. Loving yet, honouring your partner better will make more sense if you two have a personalized name for each other.

Light Fairy: This is mainly feminine so, guys in the house, y’all better come see a unique romantic name you could use for your girl.

My Happy Place: Just like happiness is personalized, happiness is also resides in a place (a human). Your partner is your safe spot so, happiness naturally flows out from you two.

Heart Friend: This, right here, is one special name that is so unique in itself. It can be used for both male and female.

Creamy Pearl: Though this name is 80% a feminine name, it won’t be a bad idea to try it on a guy. You know, something that isn’t usual for the male folk.

Butter Berry: A great and perfect choice for both sexes.

Yummy Choco: A bar or cream of chocolate is naturally yummy. Combining both into one and addressing your partner by it only means one thing – the level of sweetness you both share is great and special.

Romance / Re: Is It Wrong To Agree That Women Are More Sexually Suggestive? by wealthtrak: 5:47pm On Mar 12, 2022
helinues:
In the olden days, our ladies used to dress decently until Satan became the tailor
LMAO @ "Satan became the
tailor."

What olden days?grin Remember that some parts of Nigeria right up to the 1986 period used to dress naked or half-naked.

There are pre-1900 and post-1900
photographs (black and white) of half-naked Ibos East of the River Niger that I've seen.

Ibo women and girls did NOT
cover their breasts but only
covered their lower privates with
a thin piece of animal skin wear,
while the men did the same and
walked bare-footed. This tallied
with the history that Achebe
wrote about Ibos in Things Fall Apart.

The Kemberis of Niger State, and the Koma people (who were discovered in the hills of Old Gongola State in 1986) were half-naked or completely naked.

NOTE:
It was the British Colonists that enforced the wearing of tops to cover the female breasts post-1900.
The "Buba" (female upper wear) then evolved from that
period.

The Yorubas, Kanuris and Hausas, Itsekiris and Bini (Aristocrats) wore cloths woven locally or imported pre-1900. The popular "George fabric" was first introduced and used centuries ago by the Itsekiris.
I observed from pre-1900
photographs (1870s) that Yoruba men wore agbadas, kembes, dasikis, while the women had full
wrappers (aso iro) which were raised high up to cover their breasts. Yorubas also had a thriving cotton weaving sector pre-1900 which was used for making cloths for local use and for export to other lands by long-distance traders.

An English explorer who visited
Yorubaland pre-1900 stated in one of the history books I read that the woven cloths he saw among the Yoruba was "stronger" than Manchester clothing.

Hope that gives a better
perspective.

You're the first person here that has made loads of sense to me
here!

How does the image of a white-skinned man on a crucifix which is actually a shameful instrument of public execution for criminals in
the Roman Empire, equate to spiritual evolvement or salvation? The making of the cross sign
and the display of crucifixes are man-made concepts or dogma.

The responses I just read from a lot of Christians here is a deep case of mental and religious psychosis. These Christian folks have the ability to do harm to others and hide under religion and false dogma to justify evil. SMH.

NOTE:
Over 1000 years ago it was the image of a LAMB (and NOT a white human being) that was affixed
to a cross (or crucifix) by the early
religion that evolved before the
Martin Luther and Catholic church schisms.

By just simply taking an interest in the history of how orthodox
religions evolved, and comparative religion, many of those males and females calling for a return of the crusader years of war, and the Old Testament rules would have
known better and extricated
themselves from the dogma
of clergy men!

Christmas in Fegge!

As a Teenager, the excitement that I would spend my Christmas holiday in Fegge was unimaginable. The experience enriched my worldview to the possibility that Charley Nwa Mgbafor was made for a place beyond my prevailing circumstance.

Fegge got me dreaming. A city planned for decent humanity, with a scenery flowing from the banks of the Niger; wetting my fecund mind in the midst of material deprivation. A trip to Fegge is all that was required to give one a sense of urban aesthetics, one that is totally lost upon two generations of Fegge dwellers.

Something in me leads a daily protest -- "Bring Back Fegge!"

It's 10 days to Christmas, and the protest is swelling even deeper. Indeed, the future we seek is in our past.

Business / Re: 3 Ways To Sell To A Prospect by wealthtrak: 11:14am On Mar 12, 2022
rosy1992:

Salesmanship has been a profession, that has span through many centuries, despite the advent of advertisement and marketing.

There are three ways to seal a deal with your prospects, they are :

1) PROCESS - BASED APPROACH : Process is a series of identifiable steps. This involves a methodology where a sales person sells to a prospect with the aid of following a pattern of defined steps.

Firstly he introduces the product, before he analyzes the technical abilities and functions of the product. This is carried out by practical presentation, the customer gets highlighted on what he stands to gain once he buys the product. This approach is effective for high technological products.

2) RELATION - DRIVEN APPROACH : This involves establishing a mutual relationship with the prospect. Your motive is to ensure that the prospect trust you as an individual. The merit of this approach is that your prospect tends to buy from you over and over again, they are comfortable having a business relationship with you. This approach is successful for consulting firms, banks etc.

3)LINGUISTIC APPROACH : It is the use of well structured words and body language to convince your prospect to buy your product. A sales personnel needs to be trained on the right words that promote sales.

For example, I'll use a restaurant as a case study : instead of asking, what drink do you want to buy? You should say, Soft drink or coffee, which do you prefer? In this case, you have made two options available for the customer to make a choice from , but the former question would give the prospect so many options to choose from, he may eventually make a choice, which may not be available. Slight changes in the wording of a sales letter or call can result in dramatic increased responses.

Most times, people ask, what is the best approach for effective sales? The truth is, it depends on you, use the approach that is comfortable for you, but if you have a good skill set on the three, it will be to your advantage.

Technology Market / Re: Chidinma Sold Ataga’s Laptop To Me For N495,000 –businessman by wealthtrak: 6:19pm On Mar 11, 2022
Praxtech:
Chidinma sold Ataga’s laptop to me for N495,000 –Businessman
A businessman, Mr Ifeoluwa Oluwo, has narrated how the laptop of the murdered Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Michael Ataga, was sold to him for N495,000 by Chidinma Ojukwu two days after Ataga’s body was found.

Chidinma, a 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos, was accused of killing Ataga.

The undergraduate and two others, Adedapo Quadri and Chioma Egbuchu, are undergoing trial before Justice Yetunde Adesanya of the Lagos State High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos State.

At the resumed hearing on Thursday, Oluwo, the third prosecution witness, was led in evidence by the Lagos State prosecuting counsel, Mr Yusuf Sule.

Oluwo said he sells phones, laptops, and accessories at Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos, and has been in the business for five years.

According to him, after seeing Chidinma on social media after the sale of the laptop, he immediately ensured that all her documents were kept handy.

The witness identified Chidinma as a customer who had purchased a phone on April 30 and also sold a laptop on June 18, at the same office.

Oluwo said, “On June 18, Chidinma sold me a MacBook Pro laptop for N495,000 after negotiations and market value comparison. In order to make a sale, you have to submit some documents and fill a form with your government identification card, driving license, international passport, voters’ card, and National Identification Number.

“You also have to fill a form which includes email, phone number, house address, and full name. It will also contain the full value of the item for that day, the name of the item, and the serial number of the item.

“This is what we do to contact a customer if there are any issues.

“I asked Chidinma to unlock the laptop and she did. So, I conducted my internal observation which included speed performance, the circle count of the battery, and general functionality.

“After that, I proceeded to ask questions, ‘Do you have a receipt for this laptop?’

“She stated that it was a gift from her boyfriend and that she had two laptops and needed to sell one to pay some bills.

“I conducted a check on a website for my market evaluation. I confirmed the value of the laptop. It was $1,000 to $1,200. The exchange rate of dollars at that time was N400 to N450 and she wanted to sell for N600,000. We were able to negotiate for N495,000, which I initiated from my UBA bank account to her Sterling bank account.”

When asked if Chidinma had produced the receipt of the laptop, Oluwo stated that she was not able to provide the receipt as she had insisted that it was a gift from her boyfriend.

“After the sale of the laptop, we saw her face on social media regarding a murder case. A few days later, the police from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, invited my manager, Olutayo Abayomi.

“When I got to the police station, I discovered that it was in connection to the laptop we bought from Chidinma on June 18.

“We both made a statement detailing how we came about the laptop and how we made the purchase.

“We gave the police the documents of the former owner, which included a copy of her voters’ card, a copy of our form, and all receipts which already have her information regarding the laptop.

“There is no way we can detect that a phone or laptop was a stolen one,” Oluwo said.

During cross-examination, Chidinma’s counsel, Onwuka Egbu, asked if he was shown any documents, receipts, or proof of ownership to show that the laptop was not for the first defendant at Panti but the witness said he was not shown any.

Family / Re: My Wife's Siblings Are Breaking Us Apart And I'm Mad Right Now by wealthtrak: 5:47pm On Mar 11, 2022
DevGuru:
NOTICE: Please, my story is still very long despite that I tried very hard to remove some unnecessary portions. But if you can be patient to read it to the end, then you are ready to give a mature opinion.

I am a Yoruba guy married to another Yoruba lady who happened to be the last of seven children. We met at the University and had a long courtship before we got married in 2014. I loved her so much and I believe she loved me too. We were each other's best friends. Shortly before we began to plan the wedding, on one faithful afternoon, I was watching the TV in my living room when I began to feel a slight pain in my lower abdomen. It got more intense within few hours and I had to go to a nearby hospital and by that time, the pain was inside my scrotum. The young doctor there didn't understand what was wrong and started injecting me with pain killers. I was kept there till midnight. The next morning, I noticed that one of my testicle was swelling up. I hen went to a teaching hospital where Orchitis was first diagnosed. After a week of antibiotics with no improvement, a consultant examined me and said it was torsion which should have been surgically corrected within few hours from the onset of the pain. As at that time, the testicle was dead. I had to go for surgery to have the dead one removed. My wife (then my fiancé) was with me in the hospital. She assured me that everything would be fine and that we could have as many kids as we wanted with just one left. I loved her the more.

Now we have a very beautiful daughter who obviously has my genes and delights everyone around her with her alluring beauty. We nearly lost her to a strange illness some months back but for God who used my mum to restore our daughter. That's another long story but not for this thread. My mum loves my family so much that even my wife knows that she can lay down her life for us to be fine. Since we got married, my wife hasn't worked owing partly to our daughter's health which is now very perfect. It's not been easy for me working day and night to feed the family and paying bills in a 3-bedroom apartment in Lagos but God has been helping us. My wife was so much loved in my family that people around thought she was my mum's daughter. Very hardworking and homely.

A little into her own family setup too... She has 4 female and 2 male siblings. All her siblings are married but very close to the parents. Because my wife and I were very close, I was aware of most of the happenings in their family, but I never even gave any thought to them on how they might affect my own marriage.... long story...

Last month, I repeatedly got home late due to an official event which I told my wife and I was talking to her on phone. One morning, she gave me a wild look and warned me never to come late again. I quickly noticed the strangeness in her actions and I comported myself by saying "I'm sorry, it won't happen again". We ate together and I left for work. I returned much earlier and was with her and my daughter for a couple of hours before went to bed after I told her I had a meeting the next morning.

When I woke up, I checked the time and realised I was running late. I greeted her and rushed out of the bed only for her to jump up too and say "We need to talk". Go on, I replied... Then she claimed she observed that I've been cold towards her since she tried to correct me the previous day. I denied it but she insisted, so I told her I would adjust and that I had nothing against her. She suddenly jumped at me and said I was going nowhere. I was very surprised as I asked her what was wrong with her. I begged her to let me go and if we had to discuss anything further, it could be later in the day after work. She grew wilder and began to abuse me verbally. I drew her out of my way so I could go have my bath and she grabbed my singlet and tore it down. I was shocked! I then grabbed her two hands and pushed her to sit on the bed. She just jumped up and said "this is what I've been waiting for". She rushed to her phone and called my dad. Immediately my dad answered the call, she suddenly began to cry saying "your son has been beating me since we woke up today"... It was like I was watching a nollywood movie. I looked like a poor citizen who had no money to eat but just got an allegation that EFCC had traced N1.4b to his account. My Dad called me immediately and ordered me to leave the house first before anything. Immediately, she called my mum too and said the same thing. My mum called me and began to cry that she never expected I would disgrace the family in such manner. I was sad and even had to shout at her cos she wouldn't let me say anything on phone. She didn't even give me time to explain what happened. My wife immediately called her eldest sister too and said the same thing. The sister called me and asked for what happened. I explained to her and she advised me never to raise my hand against her again, while she stylishly insulted me, but I disregarded that. I felt like Pastor Ken in the movie, 'The Price' who had to pay for what he did not do.

I had already missed my meeting but I had to go to work. That was the most horrible day for me at work because I couldn't even use my brain to do anything. I felt cheated and sincerely felt like doing what I had already suffered for. Then I felt the urge to use a bit of my power... I transferred some money to her account and then forwarded an SMS to her giving her 24hours to make up her mind on where she would love to go, either my family home or hers because I needed a break. Fee minutes later, her eldest sister called me to say my wife forwarded my SMS to her and that she was highly disappointed in me upon what she told me in the morning. I told her that I got more infuriated and betrayed seeing my wife ruin my reputation like that. She advised again and told me to go home and hug my wife. When I got home, my wife knelt down at the door and began to apologize that it was the devil. At that time, my elder sister called me and I narrated everything to her while my wife listened to me. The next morning, my wife continued to beg me. I saw the remorse and hugged her. We became happy again. The next day, I called her sister to thank her for her intervention.

My Dad came a few days later to confirm that we had settled everything. Unfortunately, I wasn't around when he arrived, so he called me on phone and I told him I would be around in about 1 hour. Before my arrival, she spoke at length with my Dad but begged him not to allow us revisit the issue on my arrival so as not to raise dusts again. On my arrival, my Dad just advised me and said he was glad we had already settled it. Since then, I've tried to get my home together again. I started leaving my office earlier than usual even when I had unfinished tasks.

This morning, I was flipping through the apps on my wife's phone and saw Call Recorder. I opened it but discovered it had a password. As a techie, I traced the file that stores all the voice calls and began to play one of my wife's recent conversations. It was with her eldest sister who intervened into our matter then. I nearly fainted!!! The sister hailed her for acting as planned and they both laughed with satisfaction. My wife said she was happy that she successfully ruined my image in my family and they both laughed again. They said they were happy that my mum who always thought she had raised good children was made to realize that I was a beast who beats his wife and so on. But the most infuriating part was when her sister said she wanted to give her tips that would help my wife succeed in marriage. She advised my wife never to be open-minded with me and that she should begin to live a separate life while pretending to be a wife in my house. She said my wife should also open a secret account for herself so that family members can occasionally drop some token into it for her upkeep because men are unreliable and my wife agreed with all what her sister said.

I opened another and it was a conversation with her immediate elder sister - not the same as above. This one picked every member of my family and abused the hell out of us... including myself. My wife enjoyed the abuses and even cheered her to talk further. They both called me 'half man' with one testicle - a secret my wife claimed she would never reveal to anyone. In this conversation, my wife told her sister that she was very glad that she finished me through what she told my dad when I was absent, they called my mother all sort of names and this one even told my wife never to act like a good daughter-in-law towards my mother, she was advised to do everything possible to prevent my mum from visiting... and so on...

Now I am extremely mad. So many options are coming to my mind but I don't know where to start from. It is now obvious that I've been living with a stranger all the while. My day at work was so horrible that I had to leave before closing. My head and heart are both heavy now but I'm trying to put myself together. Any ideas?
OMG! shocked
This is a surreal experience.

Bro... thanks for schooling the fool! The moment I saw his comments, I realized it's not worth the hassle. He's just another savage okoro that knows nothing. Yoruba land is very similar to the 'western world' to them where they all kill themselves to migrate to. I've got lots of Igbo friends and even used to date one. Issues they sub-consciously talk about regarding their own people is outta this world. You wonder why several Igbo ladies have committed to NEVER marry their fellow Igbo men. Sir, you can go to Youtube to verify this claim. undecided

Several of my Igbo friends born and bred in SE 9ja prior to relocating to the U.S recently need me to help get properties in either Lagos or Ogun state as, they can never relocate back to the SE. The life in that side is 'jungle-like' which they all know but, pretend to admit. They're all over Yoruba lands enjoying true civilization and development that their own region can NEVER and would NEVER offer or afford to provide them. They level of economic and infrastructure decay in that region is worse than Somalia sef... grin

Just imagine how disgraceful a former Igbo governor, Ngige was boasting and chest-beating claiming to be an "Ikoyi Boy". A fool that NEVER developed his own state as governor yet, bragging (as they're known to be) to live in another fellow's land. That speaks volume! grin

Thanks.

I noticed you didn't correct him
over his wrong assertions so
I had to step in.

Many of these posters of SE origin do not realise that all the lands in
Lagos are got on rent (or lease) and doesn't belong to them permanently. I sometimes see them posting that they "bought" "all" the lands but this is false! They only rented or leased the lands. At the end of the lease period, the lands will be collected back from them by the Lagos indigenes (or Yoruba families) and any buildings or mansions built on the lands will be demolished!

I read about a lease in the Ojo area of Lagos State. The court granted the Yoruba family the right to take full control of their large family land after the lease period ended and bulldozers were used to DEMOLISH all the houses built on the family lands.

All those bragging on NL, online (and offline) about buying up Yoruba lands have NO SHAME.
Many Yorubas and others live in the North and PH with houses, but you never see them taunting
(or bragging to) the Rivers indigenes or Northerners.

About 17 years ago, Ibos were not many in the Okota area of Isolo (which has Yoruba indigenes), but the Northern religious riots, insecurity and kidnappings in Iboland coincided with a gradual increase in the population of Ibos in Okota, Festac, and other Yoruba areas in Lagos State, Ogun State (and other parts of Nigeria).

The projected Yoruba population of over 50 million in Nigeria and the Diaspora is growing very fast and lands will be needed by them for massive housing and agriculture for the indigenous SW population, so people from another ethnicity cannot just be rushing in without control to snap up lands because of the profits they make from land appreciation.

They have to use their
commonsense to know this
and scale back.

I'm happy that some of them
have woken up though, and are relocating some of the money made outside the SE back to the
SE for housing development. This
is the way to go!

Cheers.

bugativeron:
Akinwunmi was born on June 14, 1963 at the Epe General Hospital, Epe, Lagos, as the sixth of ten children. His late father, Festus Akinwale Ambode was a teacher while his mother, Christianah Oluleye Ambode (nee Oresanya) was an entrepreneur who ran a thriving sewing business in her prime. In 1967, when Akin was still four years old, his father moved to the mainland part of Lagos with the family and continued his teaching career until his death in 1981. Akinwunmi Ambode began his education at St. Jude’s Primary School, Ebutte Meta, Lagos, Nigeria in 1969. In 1974, while still in Primary 5, he sat for the National Common Entrance Examinations and was admitted to Federal Government College, Warri in the same year.

Also, when you say South West, just say Lagos. I don't see anyone migrating to Ondo or ekiti.

Its Lagos and that's because it was former capital of Nigeria the same way everyone migrates to Abuja.
The churches you mention and their schools are still dominated by igbos.
That's why coza paster cried of recently why igbos no dey donate to him church.
Don't try to bite the hands that feed you Mr man.
Without government support, Igbo lands still stands but I can't say same about you guys.
Let me give a theory... Igbo lands are dominated by igbos while your lands are still domimated by igbos too.
If e pain you, ask the federal government to dissolve Nigeria.
Hey... Get your facts right!

You have to upgrade your
knowledge of history and stop posting misleading info on
NL. It's obvious that you are of
a younger age otherwise you
wouldn't have typed what you
did.

It is Eko Island (Lagos Island) that was the administrative capital of Nigeria from 1914 to 1991 NOT the whole of Lagos State.

Lagos State was created exclusively for the indigenes of Lagos (majorly Ijebus, Aworis, Ogus, and Egba settlers) on May 27, 1967 by General Yakubu Gowon along with 11 other new States (12 States in total). Even the FCT has real indigenes especially the Gwari (Gbagyis).

Second, Ibos have flooded all over
Yoruba States (including Abuja and Port Harcourt) looking for economic survival and safety within the last 17 years due to religious riots in the North of Nigeria and the brutal armed robberies and kidnappings in the South East in the late 1990s and 2000s (which made many Ibos to relocate with their families and even elderly parents in the villages who were targets of kidnappers). Ibos even strangely started celebrating the new yam festival in Lagos and other SW States because of the fear of being kidnapped or robbed while going back to the
SE (especially in Anambra, Enugu,
Imo, and Abia States).

These FACTS are well documented
in newspapers and online by Ibos themselves who were lamenting the decay and state of affairs of Iboland.

Alex Otti (the Governorship candidate of APGA) even told
Punch how one of his friends had
to close down his business in
Abia and fled to Lagos (because
Lagos State was safer due to
Gov. Babatunde Fasola's good investments on security).

Fortunately, Ngige, Obi and
Willie Obiano started turning
things around gradually for
Anambra for instance.

I'm just noticing your post.

You killed it... Smackdown! grin
These are the REAL Nigerian movie industry legends we knew back in the day... 1970s, 1980s.

1) Moses Olaiya (i.e., Baba Sala is
an iconic film-maker and actor).

2) Ade Love (Kunle Afolayan's father, was also an iconic film maker and actor).

3) I would also include Mr. Alex Usifo (aka Abass). I loved how he used to say "foool" in his baritone voice. grin

A lot of the young posters here
are under the false impression that the Nigerian movie industry started with home videos, but this is false.
We have to keep letting them know and have a museum in let's say Lagos to preserve these facts.

Prof. Wole Soyinka's 1969 movie
"Kongi's Harvest" was shown in the cinemas in Lagos State. Wole
Soyinka is a film-maker and not
just a world-reknowned writer.

All the best!

These so-called U.S. rating
agencies have in the past fooled undiscerning investors by making spurious projections about company earnings.

This especially happened in the period leading right up the 2008/2009 global financial crisis.

are you for real? How about China, Indian, Iran, Pakistan etc? They are ready to do more business with Russia. Highest they get the oil from them and resell to those interested at low price.

The only lesson I think all politicians and billionaires should learn from here, is to invest their money in there country then push out to others.
This same scenario happened
during the despotic Sani Abacha
military era in the 1990s.

China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan and other some non-Western countries continued to do business with
Nigeria despite Western sanctions.
