Yes Tinubu is a benefactor to many younger generations of Nigerians (home, in the diaspora or returned to Nigeria from the diaspora) who want to get involved in shaping SW and Nigerian politics for the better.

We see beyond him but still need him to be around as long as possible to mentor the next generation who, hopefully, will be better able to protect the political and socio-economic interest of the SW and Nigeria at large.

Be aware that every Nigerian is an expert on Tinubu and the medical condition they claim he is suffering from.

It is not a discussion I entertain because Tinubu is a bright and responsible man with access to the best information and expertise available anywhere in the world to keep him in optimal health.

Send me a private message bro for any other issue. Many info well-meaning folks should not put on open forums like Nairaland. Believe it or not but NL is full of blackmailers, scammers and opportunists.

@Dsalvo, hello once again. smiley
In my first post on this thread, I said I was going to get back to you for some specifics.

You seem to be close to the
Tinubu family or team based on your insightful posts that I've
been reading.

I wanted to know from you if you're aware of the easiest way to contact the Tinubu's to pass on the info on how the hand tremors due to
Parkinson's can be treated abroad
and gain relief within 1 week and
he'll be bouncing around again
with a sharper memory. All he
needs to do is to get on his private
jet and fly out to the U.S. for the treatment because he can afford
it!

This is why it's always good to get
a second or third medical opinion.
I just wonder why his medical team haven't suggested this to him... abi se won fi baba jeun ni? grin

The absence of an outright refutation that felony money laundering charges were indeed filed against Mr. Tinubu in Chicago attests to your unassailable personal integrity, Barrister, as does your truthful affirmation that a sizeable sum of "unexplained" money was seized from Tinubu's bank accounts by Uncle Sam as a result of that well-publicized criminal investigation. Perhaps for now this particular aspect of Tinubu's background can be filed under the "e get as e be" category, whereby outright culpability is neither refuted nor conceded by the relevant actors in the sordid saga.

Returning to health matters, do you honestly believe that a terminally sick and feeble-minded man with violently quaking hands, who has lost all voluntary control over his own mental acuity, bladder, and rectum, should be aspiring to the highest office in the land when Nigeria is blessed with legions of intellectual powerhouses that are fit in all regards and eminently qualified for that job in the nation's driver's seat?

Verily I sayeth onto thee that geriatric Mr. Tinubu belongs in a wheelchair, and not in the seat of power. And so it shalt come to pass in Papa God's righteous name, aaaaamen.

Thank you and God breast Armenia.

Lol @Jakumo, I'm laughing at
"God breast Armenia."

In any event like I stated in my first post to you, I'm NOT in support of him contesting yet because he has
Parkinson's based on his shaky hands, slurred speech. He's going
to keep making some errors of speech because electricity from brain neurons are not firing properly.

Muhammed Ali, (one of the greatest boxers of all time) had advanced Parkinson's which caused the body tremors he had.

A close relative of mine also has that hand tremor due to early stage
Parkinson's. Thank goodness there is now a permanent cure for the
neurological disorder. Tinubu will be okay after going for the treatment within one week in the
U.S., Germany or Canada. I don't like to see people suffer like that from Parkinson's. Tinubu's medical team are probably not aware of
this treatment yet.

Hope this helps.

Good day Barrister. The disapproving tone of your reply indicates that you aren't likely to utilize the TruthFinder website to corroborate the criminal history of Mr. Tinubu, so perhaps you could take a moment to look over the documents posted in this very forum back in 2018, along with a short essay published by an online news outlet on the same subject.

In the interest of accuracy, I should add that Mr. Tinubu's US indictment and asset forfeiture were related to HEROIN trafficking rather than the cocaine that the man consumes prodigiously for recreational purposes. Heroin of course ranks among the most insidious and destructive of all opioid narcotics consumed by addicts, and is responsible for numerous deaths worldwide every year.

@Jakumo
Brilliant... smiley Glad you brought out those 2 Web links which I've been aware of from back in the day. I was actually going to make reference
to that indictment in my last post to you, but left it off so as
NOT to make the post too long.

This heroin indictment and asset forfeiture accusation keeps coming up or gets recycled towards every major election cycle.

Didn't you read back then in 2018 and even now, that it wasn't a "FULL
asset forfeiture" and he got part of his money back? Some of the funds in his U.S. bank account was traced to an illicit source but Tinubu wasn't fully involved. This is the reason why we all have to be careful about receiving money from others into our bank accounts and be careful about relating with just any Nigerian in the Western world because you could be innocently relating with a shady person and
get into trouble. This is what happened to Asiwaju Ahmed
'Bola Adekunle Tinubu and this
is why he was NOT jailed or his FULL assets seized!

He also would NOT have been able to get employed as a Chartered Accountant in high profile positions in the U.S.-based consulting firms.
As a technocrat, Tinubu also worked with Mobil Nigeria in
senior positions and retired as
the Treasurer of Mobil.

I remember that all these facts were pointed out by eagle-eyed NL posters on that NL thread back in 2018.

I'm very much aware of these Web links you gave... And this Chicago heroin indictment thing was dealth with thoroughly.

I actually made contributions along with others on that 2018 thread.
I have an older NL account from the late 2000s which I used to make my contributions.

In any event you can literally carry
out basic to advanced background checks on anyone from U.S. government records.

Defamation online and offline is a punishable offence worldwide and
this is the reason why I don't make blind accusations or follow the herd mentality.

All the best.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Hobbyist Drone Operator Films Intense Firefight Along Ukrainian Highway by wealthtrak: 3:59am On Mar 07, 2022
Jakumo:
For the first time in history perhaps, a hobbyist private drone operator sent up his bird to record high-resolution film footage of an ongoing firefight pitting Ukrainian soldiers against the might of Russian infantry, that went down along a strategically vital stretch of highway a couple of days ago.

The footage is so clear that one can see the Ukrainian soldiers dismount from their armored vehicles and fan out along the highway in battle formation while exchanging brutal and sustained fire with the Russians who also give a very good account of themselves in this frenzied exchange.

As mortar shells and RPG grenades explode periodically in the pitched battle, bursts of heavy machinegun fire rent the air and shake the ground, under the impassive eye in the sky that also picks out a few brave troopers sneaking up along the sides of the firestorm to position themselves at the enemies' flanks in preparation for opening fire from new positions.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1dXAs2ybIU

Bravo to the drone pilot who captured this astonishingly clear footage.
This is so surreal... Mad sick!

But but but it DOES matter that Bola "The Shit" Tinubu is in fact a USA convicted cocaine trafficker and money launderer who forfeited several fat bank accounts to the US government before fleeing back to Nigeria so as to avoid getting slam-dunked in jail to serve a nice long custodial sentence.

Don't take my word for it Oga Desalvo. Spend just $20 for a subscription with the background checking website called TruthFinder.com, where the full shameful and shocking details of Bola "The Shit" Tinubu's lengthy criminal rap sheet can be viewed by anyone interested in the truth.

With all due respect sir, I share the majority opinion that convicted criminals should NEVER be permitted to scurry about the corridors of power in ANY nation, like so many nasty little cockroaches. Nigeria can do better and WILL do better than to allow a feces spewing terminally ill convicted narco-trafficker to bribe his way into the seat of federal power.

Have a nice day sir, and thanks for taking the time to type up yet another long and tedious dissertation most of which I couldn't be bothered to read, truth be told. Speaking of the truth, just remember that the website TruthFinder.com is YOUR friend
Tinubu is NOT a drug baron neither is he a user of cocaine. He travels with his private jet to the U.S. regularly and if he is a drug baron, he would have been arrested
anywhere in the U.S. or in his city
of Chicago. Tinubu did not run
away from the U.S. because of any crime. He worked with some of the top American consultancy firms as
an Accountant before returning to
Nigeria in the 1980s to work for
Mobil Nigeria at senior levels. Then he went into politics and became a
Senator in the early 1990s.

I've known you and read your posts on this forum for the last 17 years, but your highly defamatory post and tirade against Tinubu here is uncalled for! This has got to be a low from you Jakumo. You refer to a man battling with obvious trembling of his hand due to early-stage Parkinson's as a hard drug user of cocaine and quoting a
Website for folks to subscribe
to?

This is criminal defamation of
character that will land you and
others in jail who wrongly
accuse Tinubu of being a drug baron.

It is improper to be taunting a

I'm not a supporter of any person
older than 65 years to be the President of Nigeria. But
I hate it when some tribalists or
folks like the 48-year-old
Reno Omokri, who says he is a pastor of his religion taunts and insult Tinubu. I follow Reno on YouTube and I like his business and travel series, but his major weakness is that he talks in banaland garrulous manner... and this shows his lack of love for
God. He is still very carnal in his
behavior.

In 2015, Raymond Dokpesi and AIT/DAAR Communications were sued to the tune of billions of Naira for the very defamatory video called Lion of Bourdilon.

Mike Ozekhome had to help DAAR in negotiating an out-of-court settlement, and the Judge instructed AIT/DAAR to formally
apologise on TV for showing the false video to the public in early 2015!

A couple who were caught having sekzual intercourse in a car have been shamed by residents. At the time of this story, it is unknown which area the said incident happened.

From what we gather, the couple parked their car in an isolated area along the street and started ‘benging and genging’.

Someone who immediately spotted the act immediately alerted other residents of the area, and they went on to disgrace them as they felt angry that, they decided to bring their private activity to the area.

Though Facebook user John did not give the exact location of the incident, however it was gathered that the couple were sent away after they were embarrassed.

While some social media users supported the move by residents of the area, others maintained that the couple did nothing wrong and shouldn’t have been shamed since they are both adults.

Science/Technology / Re: Meet The 19-year-old Nigerian Building His Own Blockchain Empire by wealthtrak: 9:44pm On Mar 06, 2022
BigCabal:
After Njoku Emmanuel’s father seized his laptop for “coding too much” and not facing his studies, he dropped out of school to focus on coding. 3 years later, he has become one of the best blockchain engineers of his generation, travelled the world, and now runs his own startup Lazerpay, a crypto payment gateway.

Njoku’s greeting was casual, like his outfit—a black round-neck t-shirt on jeans. His boisterous laugh set a natural mood for what would become a long but interesting conversation. It was a busy day in Lagos, and the murmuring voices around him indicated he was joining the video call from his office. The walls behind him had “Lazerpay” and some motivational quotes written all over them.

“Sorry for the noise, bro,” Njoku said, running his fingers through his locks. “It’s a busy week. We are going out of beta sometime next week, so all hands on deck!”

To avoid internet fluctuation, we switched off our cameras and dived into our conversation.

Lazerpay, a crypto payment gateway startup Njoku co-founded with Abdulfatai Suleiman and Prosper Ubi, was launched in October, and the reception has been massive. During its beta phase, the crypto startup has been endorsed by several tech and blockchain enthusiasts as a necessary innovation needed to accelerate crypto adoption in Africa. But what is even more remarkable about Lazerpay is Njoku, its 19-year-old CEO, who seemed to have emerged from nowhere to become one of the most sought-after young tech darlings in Africa.

Except he wasn’t a sudden emergence.

The Njoku we see today is a product of a seed planted about 7 years ago in Port Harcourt, the biggest city in the South-South region of Nigeria. In 2015, at 13, Njoku and his brothers were casually introduced to computer programming by their aunt, who was a robotic engineer. Since then, Njoku chose to write code and never looked back.

The lofty dream that followed was wanting to build an operating system like Bill Gates had, or a social media platform like Mark Zukerberg did. He wanted to be the African Mark Zukerberg and told everybody that cared to listen so, including his mother who wouldn’t stop jesting him for it. Njoku began to ask questions and pored through every content on computer programming he came across.

Born to an engineer father and a school teacher mother, Njoku was a mathematics whiz. He represented his school in the mathematics olympiad, won several medals, and lost a few. When his mates had a single mathematics textbook that had different topics like geometry, permutation and combination, and more, Njoku had a different textbook for each topic—each textbook as big as the all-encompassing ones.

“My father forbade us from using a calculator to solve our mathematics homework. Every computation had to be done with your head—why else do you have a head?” Njoku said. With this, his problem-solving skill was already top-notch; little wonder he was quick to embrace programming.

Because gaming was one of his favourite activities—having played video games with his siblings—at the time, he began to learn game development and started using C++ to build games. In 2017, he wrote his final secondary school exams and cleared all his papers, with A+ in mathematics and further mathematics.

Surprisingly, his next challenge will be finishing University.

“University was a waste of my time”
Like most Nigerian parents, Njoku’s parents wanted him to become a medical doctor—his older brother was already studying medicine. But Njoku had chosen his own path, one he wouldn’t let go of for the world.

He got admission to study electrical engineering at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) in 2018. This, his engineer father could live with.

In the same year, he joined Quiva Games, a gaming company based in Enugu, as an intern. Everything was going okay; his plate was full—a tasking engineering course and a job where he could build his coding skill. But, after a few classes in his first year, he realised engineering wasn’t as tasking as he had anticipated.

“I thought everything would be advanced, but it was people packed into a small hall to learn social sciences and general studies. I was like ‘What the hell is going on here?’ And the maths they were teaching at 100 level was like my JSS 3/SS 1 maths. So, it became a waste of my time.”

He knew he wasn’t going to do this for another 5 years, so he became laser-focused on coding. “Any time I was going to school, I was going to charge my laptop and code. I didn’t tell my parents. When they gave me money to buy textbooks, I used it to buy coding courses on Udemy.”

His father somehow found out he has been missing classes and invited him home. “I didn’t know it was a trick to seize my laptop. I went back to school and had to borrow laptop to finish some projects at hand and keep learning.”

COVID-19 was a blessing in disguise
When COVID-19 hit in 2020 and everywhere was locked down, everybody panicked and scared, Njoku was somewhat happy; he’d be away from school without getting into trouble. So, he upped his game and started coding 12 hours a day. He didn’t want to go back to school, and the only thing he had was to learn as fast as he could and get a remote job.

In March 2020, he got a job as a mobile application developer at Kwivar, a buy-now-pay-later company based in Port Harcourt.

“The salary was ₦70,000. When I got it, nobody could talk to me. I was the biggest boy I knew. My parents couldn’t believe you could get a job during the pandemic when companies were laying people off. Though the salary isn’t enough reason to not study medicine, they finally saw what I had seen since 2015.”

Introduction to the blockchain
Before the pandemic, Njoku had already started learning about blockchain. He’d taken Udemy courses on blockchain and had entered the finals of a hackathon project that would be held in Lagos in 2019—the first time he’d ever be in Lagos.

In April 2020, a month after he started working at Kwivar, he got another offer as a blockchain developer at Project Hydro, a blockchain company based in the British Virgin Islands. He would be paid $700 monthly in Hydro tokens. At this point, he knew he wasn’t going back to school; everything happening to him agreed with that decision.

Fast forward to September 2020, he wanted to leave Kwivar and needed something to replace it. So, he reached out to Ugochukwu Aronu, the co-founder of Xend, the parent company of Quiva Games where he’d interned for 5 months, to check if there was an opening. After sharing what he’d done at Project Hydro—decentralised wallet, snowflake infrastructure for decentralised identity—Aronu invited him to come to Enugu and join his new venture Xend Finance, a decentralised finance (DeFi) platform for credit unions, cooperatives, and individuals, backed by Google and Binance.

At the time, the pandemic was already easing up, and students had started going back to school. So, Njoku told his father he was going back to school. Aronu made him an offer—₦150,000 net salary, a MacBook, and free accommodation.

The days at Xend Finance: Njoku and Emeka Nweke, the lead blockchain engineer who taught him how to deploy complex smart contracts
“I went to Port Harcourt to show my parents the offer and told them I was dropping out of school. It was obvious they couldn’t do anything about it. Going back to school just to graduate and earn about half or as much as I was already earning wasn’t wise,” Njoku said.

It was at this point that his parents knew and accepted Njoku’s crazy idea to drop out. At Xend Finance, he had to step in when the lead blockchain engineer was unavailable, and that accelerated his blockchain knowledge. Despite the close call—since they’d already scheduled to launch by December 2020—he led the build but not without a hiccup.

“It was difficult because I had to take charge of an entire project in the middle of building. I fixed the bug, wrote, and deployed smart contracts. But I made a deployment error that cost the company $10,000.” So Aronu told him the money he lost would be deducted from his salary. At that point his salary had jumped to ₦300,000. He panicked and started applying to international jobs—at least those ones could pay him enough money to service the debt.

He would later find out Aronu was only joking, but by then he had gotten an offer from MakerDAO, one of the biggest DeFi companies in the world. He was the first Nigerian engineer on the team. As usual, he went home to show his parents his new offer and his mother couldn’t believe her dropout son could earn over $3,000 per month. But that was the beginning.

After MakerDAO, the offers wouldn’t stop coming. He got a contract offer from Instadapp, a DeFi protocol company, for $90 per hour. “I was like, these people don’t know me: I’ll work 20 hours per day!”

He resigned from Xend Finance and was ready to make his mark on the global blockchain ecosystem. He relocated to Dubai.

Dubai was his passport to the world
MakerDAO was having an offsite meetup in Portugal and Njoku was supposed to go, but his visa wasn’t approved on time. He was frustrated, so his aunt, the robotic engineer, advised him to try applying to travel to Europe from Ghana or anywhere outside Nigeria. “She also suggested Dubai, and I took it. After staying in Dubai for a month, I told her I’m not coming back home.”

In Dubai, more job opportunities came. He was on top of the world; he could now reject offers and travel the world. For an 18-year-old boy, there was enough money in the bank so he told his father to leave his brother’s medical school’s tuition to him. “My brother is in Bulgaria, so imagine earning in naira and paying tuition in euro. So it’s only right I took that off my father’s plate.”

He got a contract offer of $3,000 per week from Avarta, a blockchain security company based in Singapore. He joined them and built their entire blockchain infrastructure.

Then he met Yele Bademosi, founder and CEO at Nestcoin, who would later become one of Lazerpay’s early investors. Bademosi then became Njoku’s mentor, so when he wanted to start Nestcoin, Njoku was one of the first engineers he reached out to. It was around this time that the idea to build Lazerpay began to form.

Njoku dropped everything to focus on Lazerpay. Avarta reached out with a full-time offer of $7,000 per month and $50,000 worth of Avarta token, but he rejected it. They came back with another offer of $15,000 per month, but Njoku was running with his new vision now. Before, the vision was to become a great engineer, but now it’s to become a great founder.

So Njoku forfeited everything. He left MakerDAO in December 2021 and his Maker token that was worth over $200,000 and would have vested this February. He rejected a salary package worth over $300,000 from Avarta. All because he believed Lazerpay is the future of payment and will be worth much more than everything he’s given up. And also because he was already raising funds and had to put his skin in the game.

He knew what he wanted from a young age and stood by it. His steadfastness has turned everybody around him into a believer; his parents have now begun nudging his youngest sibling to study software engineering.

Njoku isn’t Zukerberg and may never be, but he’s building his own empire in the blockchain world. At 19, this can only be the beginning of his journey.

I think the picture above explains it all. This post is like the continuation of my previous post yesterday. You may have heard it before, but now I am also giving a fresh opportunity to a few lucky people who want to know the secrets of making money while asleep. That is one of the rules of the rich. You can start up such a business by visiting this page.

If you’ve ever spent time with millionaires, or even billionaires, you’ll know that they see the world differently.

They have a different way of thinking. They have a different way of feeling. They even have a different way of being. Everything they do is different, compared to the poverty-stricken masses.

Everything they do is different because they understand the rules of wealth. They understand that getting rich is a skill set. It doesn’t happen by chance, it doesn’t happen by “luck,” and it doesn’t happen to those who are mentally and physically lazy.

The millionaires of the world are millionaires because they understand the principles of wealth. They understand how the markets work, how business works, and how money works. So I’d like to ask you, how many of these rules are you breaking?

See the mindsets below;

The Rich Invest in Themselves

If you go to a poor person’s house, what are some of the things you always tend to see? For starters, they almost always have a really big flat screen TV, a big Samsung Phone that they can barely afford to lease, and a bunch of luxury shoes they have all piled up.

Do you know what you’ll see if you go into a rich person’s house? Probably a lot of the same things, but here’s the key: they waited until AFTER they got rich to buy these things. When they weren’t rich they were constantly investing in themselves, buying books and attending seminars to gain extra knowledge.

In the words of billionaire investing mogul Warren Buffett: “Ultimately, there’s one investment that supersedes all others: invest in yourself. Nobody can take away what you’ve got in yourself, and everybody has potential they haven’t used yet.”

The Rich Think Long Term

I was talking to one of my old friends from Nairaland the other day, and it was interesting to see his thought process. He believed in partying and having fun, while I was stuck in my dorm room building my online empire for weeks at a time.

…and that’s not to say that I have anything against partying, quite the contrary—but understand that where the poor think in terms of days, weeks, or months, the rich think in terms of YEARS or even DECADES.

When I first started Affiliate Marketing, I made absolutely NOTHING for the first 3 months. But like a true entrepreneur, I kept grinding. I kept hustling. And now? I’m earning hundreds of dollars a day in passive income. I put in the work first, because I was thinking long term.

The poor are always concerned with how they feel right now, that is why they are looking for quick money making schemes, At the end of the day, they complain like cry babies.

Rich People Focus on Earning

Have you ever seen one of those poor little guys spending money at Shoprite? They spend hours checking for the products with the cheapest price—and all for what? So that they can save like 100 Naira on a 2000 Naira budget.

This is a classic example of the poor person’s mentality. They focus on saving little amounts of money by cheap products and shopping for discounts.

Do you know what the rich do, though? The rich guy who probably has lots of internet business would say Bleep that 2000 Naira — I’ll just earn $100 a day. Rather than focusing on cutting out petty little expenses, they just earn so much that the little expenses become completely irrelevant.

There’s a great quote from the Wolf of Wall Street that aptly summarizes this rule, as well as my general approach to life. As Leonardo DiCaprio’s character is giving a speech to his company, he tells them to “solve your problems with more money.” This is how the rich think. Focus on earning.

If you are interested in setting up your own business empire - forget what people are saying to discourage you. Those who are lazy would always find ways to discourage others. You can see how to get started by clicking the link in this post above.

Since 2020 when Covid-19 Pandemic started, i have reviewed and rewritten over 250 CVs and Cover Letters, for nairalanders and other media.

I have come to discover costly Mistakes common with the Fresh Graduates and the experience graduates alike and I feel I should share.

Unfortunately, this mistakes are visible to the eyes of only experts and HR recruiter.

They are the core reasons why these applicants were not getting frequent invitations too interview they desired..

and why it has been difficult for the underemployed graduates to move from his low pay job, to a higher paying job that she desired.

A clear reason why a Mid level employed struggles to transition to a senior level position.

Let’s get into the details of these costly Mistakes below..

#1. Poor Arrangement of information in CV

87 % of the 250 CVs i've worked on, has poor arrangement of information in their CV. This sets of applicants did not understand the principle of strength and weakness.

So, how can they tackle this problem?.

Consider SWOT analysis. According to Wikipedia, “SWOT analysis is a Strategic Planning techniques used to help a person or organization identify Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats related to business competition or project planning”.

No doubt you have competition in the labour market, in that job you wish to apply for. Therefore, it is your duty to identify your SWOT and position them to your advantage, if you must be ahead of your competitors.

So, what information can be classified your Strength or Opportunity, Weakness or Threats? For me, Information such as, Added academic qualification (Phd,Msc,MBa, etc), additional Certifications, Big brand Work Experience, and your achievements, will stand as my strength and opportunities.

And, I will position them in my first page. While, information such as Personal data (Date of birth; where you are above the age in an advertised job, Your Marital Status, State of origin etc.) will be considered my Weakness and Threats and i will relocate them to the behind pages.

The idea is, you position your strength and opportunities in your first page so that they Grabs attention of your potential employers.

#2 Address of Residence

Common sense is not common practice, as basic as address of residence, it has denied about 95% of applicants opportunities of getting their desired job.

Time has really change things, the days when most employers will recruit new employee from any part of the country and provide free accommodation for 3 months, to help you settle down, have gone down the drains.

The Market forces of demand and supply has change every thing, the Number of graduate Supplied into the labour market far exceed the available jobs in demand....

And, it has given Employers a lot of options to choose from and they enjoy it a lot, because it has created avenue to cut cost to its minimum.

These days, for example, let’s say an employer in Lagos need 50 qualified graduates, she can get all the 50 graduates in Lagos alone, in a day, anytime she places a vacancy advertisement......

These is definitely a problem for an applicant, whose address of residence is not Lagos state, the same for applicants in Portharcourt and Abuja, considered to be job hub in these country. Applicants need to be dynamic in approach.

How do you tackle this challenge if you reside outside these three states(Lagos, Portharcourt, & Abuja)?

Its very simple, for example, let’s say you reside in Benin and you find a job vacancy in portharcourt that you meet the requirements, ask yourself, do I have relations or friends in portharcourt, if yes, put a call immediately to them, explain clearly the situation at hand, ask for their address and replace it with yours in your CV before you apply. When you get the job sort yourself out.

#3 Too Many Jobs Within a short period of time.

93% of the 250 CVs i worked on have this Costly mistake. This class of applicant thought that the more places they have worked the better the job opportunities, some have worked in 3 places in 3 years, 4 places in 5years or 6 places in 7 years etc.

The question I do ask most time, is it compulsory to include all your previous job in your cv or reduce it to few number of jobs?

Lets compare and contrast the two applicants below and give our verdict. The first, is an applicant who has worked in 6 places within 7 years. The second, is an applicant who has worked in only 2 places in 7 Years. Who will you consider for a job?.

Here’s My verdict, for the first applicant that worked in 6 places in 7 Years......,

I will not give him a job, because his job history has shown that he doesn’t stay long in a job, he is not consistent, no stable job experience, it might be that he is not a hard working person or he might have a character problem, as such no job for him.

For the second applicant who worked for 2 places in 7 Years, I will give him the job, because he has demonstrated from his job history that he stay longer in a job, it means he has acquired better experience in each job with time, he is consistent and might be hard working and have better character. Yes for him, I will give him the job. So you see the implications.

The idea is, you don’t necessarily need to pile up long list of previous place of work, you should consider prone it down to 2 or 3 work places maximum. You can selects that which you acquired better experience and can get good references in case. Be creative.

#4. Unnecessary Long List of Responsibility.

99.5% of the 250 CVs i worked on failed in this aspect.? This class of applicants see responsibility as an achievement, so they pile a long list and cover the whole space. As define by an online dictionary, “responsibility is the state of facts of being responsible, answerable or accountable for something within ones control”.

Hence that is what it is, it means responsibility is a general things and not personal, such that, 50 persons can have the same responsibilities at a time. for example a responsibility of Customer Service Officer is the same in similar industry every where you go. Then , why the long list of responsibilities in your cv? Wouldn’t it be better if you summarise it to one or two sentence and save yourself a lot of space in your CV. The best CV should have fewer pages depends on your years of experience.

For example a Bank Marketer can summarise her responsibility this way ‘Sale of banks retail products, such as Assets, Liability and Non financial' Simple and straight forward. An attacker in football team, like Lionel Messi and Neymar Junior, if you ask them to tell you their responsibilities, they will answer ‘ to score goals and give assist' simple and straight to the point, any other thing is secondary.

The idea is that, responsibility is a general thing, it doesn’t make you smarter or hardworking and it is not an achievement as you will see below.

#5 Complete Absence of Achievements.

99.9% of the 250 CVs i have worked on, did not mention achievements, even the very few that did, hid it inside their long list of responsibilities.

Its quite unfortunate, perhaps because some applicant confuse achievement for responsibility and others did not realise the impact achievements carry on their CV.

The fact is, Your Achievement is what make you “Stand out from the crowd”, it makes you an island of intelligent in a sea of mediocrity. Achievements is a personal possession, you own it and no two persons has the same achievements, even twins Children.

From our example above, Lionel Messi and Neymar Junior are football attackers, their responsibility is the same thing, ‘to score goals and give assist', but their achievement is completely different....

while both players where in Barcelona in 2014/2015 football season, Lionel Messi Scored about 73 goals and 89 assist, While Neymar Junior scored about 33 goals and 41 assist.

It is Very clear that Lionel Messi has better achievement, and it is the singular reason why Lionel Messi is paid higher than Neymar in Barcelona. And, he is needed in all the big football clubs.

It is your achievements that catches the attention of your potential employers, they come to see you as a problem solver, particular to your job function. No wonder i have started receiving positive testimonials from the over 250 CVs i did reviewed and rewritten here on nairaland, because i use my experience and expertise to uncover their achievements and project it properly in their CV.

It is your duty to identify your achievements and channel them to your advantage. If you are finding it difficult to fix, you can always chat me up on WhatsApp or email below and I will gladly use my experience and expertise to fix it for you, for a small Service fee.

#6 Complete Absence of knowledge of Cover letter.

Unfortunately, almost 98 % of the cover letters i reviewed were poorly written.

The fact is, as you aspire to move up in the job markets from a low pay job to a higher pay job that you desired, Cover letter and not your CV, become the most important weapon you need to persuade employers to look towards your direction.

It is in your cover letter that you have all the space to express your skills and achievements. You can get down to the details and demonstrate how your skills have solve previous problems of employers, particular to your job function.

You will have all the space to show how productive you are.

CONCLUSION:

P.S. You can apply this ideas and craft a Smart CV and Cover letter for yourself .

Alolo – the first Christian convert from Igbodo
In a town called Igbodo in West Africa, there is a large mud house, much grander than any other in the town. It was the dwelling place of a big medicine man (named Ofunani) when I first knew it. He was always ready to welcome us as his guests and give us ample room to stay while in the town. As we had to pass through Igbodo to reach other towns in our district, we often accepted his hospitality. He was known far and wide as a medicine man; he had several wives and a great position. He did not care about the Gospel. He seemed never to want to hear it, but he always received us kindly when we went. Let me tell you the story of his wife.
She was a young nice-looking woman – always clean, though most other women looked dirty; and instead of having the sleepy ‘I don’t care’ look usual among the women, her face was striking in its intelligence. Her name was Alolo. She had the usual medicine man’s charms and a small house of her own in which all her personal idols were kept. The Gospel was not quite new to Alolo. She had heard of the Lord Jesus from Yoruba and Sierra Leone traders, and she wanted to know more. From our first visit, she attached herself to us wherever we went. She was known and respected everywhere. The kings of the different towns would listen with some respect to what she said, and she always received the honour given to a medicine man or chief.
In 1905, God gave her another little son (she already had a son and a daughter). How proud and happy she was! She offered no sacrifice to thank her idols, and would not allow the little one’s face to be cut with the tribal marks. To God alone she gave thanks.
But alas! when her baby began to cut his teeth, he sickened and became very ill. She did all she could for him; she appealed for help to her fellow wives and her husband, but they were like stone. They told her it was because she had left her idols and their customs, and they would give her neither advice nor help. So she started out with her dear baby to come to me at Idumuje Ugboko for help. I was away and my house fastened up. There was nothing for it but to tramp the six miles back again. A kind woman called her in to rest, and as, by the flickering light of the palm oil lamp they together looked at the little face, they saw the child was dead. The pitying Saviour was with that poor woman as she carried her dear dead baby that night along the winding bush path through the forest to her home. She was met with the most cruel reproaches from her husband, and with mocking laughter from her fellow women. She went out into the bush and made a little grave there, and buried her bay herself.
About two months later, she came to me with the request that we would visit Igbodo soon, as she wished to destroy her idols. She said they had been nothing to her for many months. She grieved that she had given them a place in her house. She would have destroyed them privately, but thought it might teach some of the Igbodo people if they saw them burnt. A few days later we went. Her husband knew the reason for our visit and, when spoken to about it, said she had no control over Alolo; she always did as she pleased. He carefully absented himself early in the morning, and remained away till the deed was done. There was a remarkable collection of idols for a woman to possess, quite a heap all together in the yard of the house. A crowd of people gathered, and we sang a hymn, “Come to Jesus just now”, and spoke a few words to the crowd. Then Alolo got fire and set the heap alight.
I can only describe one other incident in her life.
Twins had always been thrown away in Igbodo as soon as born. Alone, single handed, Alolo fought against the custom. One day she heard of twins being born, and before the parents had a chance to get them away to the bush she was at the house, and amidst a storm of angry protest she carried the twins off to her house. Her husband was indignant. The other women tore their hair with anger and superstitious fear. The whole town gathered before her door, but she withstood them all. She was left at last, cut off from everyone, with the entrance to her house strewed with ‘medicine’ to cause her death. The babies had been treated too badly and she could not save them. Before many hours they were both dead. Then she was seized by a crowd and taken to a town some distance away where a Government official was staying while on a tour of his district. She was charged with upsetting the peace of the town, a charge which has sometimes been effectual in getting a Christian punished. But in this case the truth was found out.
Her husband died about four years ago, and she is now married to a Christian man and has been baptised together with her children. Without doubt Alolo has been the instrument used by God to bring into existence the Church which is in Igbodo.

Actually python is harmless. It has no venom.
It can only swallow you if it is very huge.
I don't think the python in that hostel can swallow any human.

Modified: A lot of misconception about python.
for those quoting me that python can constrict and kill. The truth is there are 40 species of pythons out of those 40 only 3 are capable of constricting. It's usually reticulated pythons, African rock pythons, and occasionally big Burmese pythons.

I doubt the specie attacked the hostel was any of the three. Those three are huge and it is hard for them to even enter without people noticing. They try as much as possible to avoid humans and stay in the wild. And less I forget, apart from the 3 species mentioned pythons will not constrict or strangle you in your sleep, it only does that to it's prey, humans are not it's prey. Most people live with pythons for months in their home without even realizing until they find out, they begin to thank God how they escape death. Well it can stay with you for 5 years and it will never constrict you.
A place in Anambra worship pythons, the pythons enters and leaves their house as it please without hurting anyone. Many outsider thinks it is jazz which is a lie. Pythons naturally wouldn't attack humans, they only attack their prey.

Python bites are not deadly, A dog bite is more lethal than a python, even a human bite is more lethal than a Python's bite, this doesn't mean you should not take antibiotics when bitten. And pythons will not attack you, it will if you threaten it. Pythons Don't kill for sports like cats, they only kill to eat.
Insightful.

Update From . COM

He also said that access to university education is not for everybody, adding that in developed nations; only a few people get to that level.

He said;

“There is a fundamental assumption that is wrong: university education is not for employability. That one is basic.

“If you have a good university education, you should be an employer of labour.

“If you look at systems all over the world, only a certain percentage of citizens in the country should be able to go to a university. The rest should go to what they call a polytechnic, a monotechnic, a technical college etc. such that by the time they finish from those institutions of learning, as it was in Nigeria in the past, they can move into the industry as artisans and all that.”

The ASUU UNILAG leader also said that love for university education in the country is unnecessary.

Ashiru added;

“And that’s why the pressure is on university education. Check any developed country in the world.

“Those who populate their universities are not from their citizens.”

My dear friend, I plead with you this morning. Love yourself, respect yourself and value yourself. Know who you are and never buy love or acceptance. Be yourself and let people love you for whom you are. You can’t go around changing like a chameleon to please and impress people because you want their approval.

Break out of that negative upbringing, love from a parent should be unconditional, it shouldn’t be earned. Love should be free. Don’t love yourself less than you ought to. People will naturally return the hand you deal in life, they will treat and value you based on how you treat and value yourself.

Don’t ever think you’re not good enough, not smart enough, not beautiful enough, or rich enough. No one is there yet, any smart person would continue to improve and develop, we are all diamonds in the rough at different degrees, the fact you think someone is better than you today or superior doesn’t mean it’ll be like that forever.

The room for improvement is never full or congested, you can be better than anybody as long as you don’t relent in self-improvement.....
Well said! Words on marble.
