Y on earth can't some people just reason for a minute and stop being tribalistic? How is FDI an avenue to milk nigeria? To later develop the north? Is it not FDIs that took US to where it is today? We can't progress with this type of mentality, nigerians. If they don't bring FDIs to Nigeria, we will be complaining that we are not progressing. Now they have brought to us, we are singing another song. "Nigeria and Nigerians" is like "Islam and Muslims". Islam is a good religion, but some bad muslims are spoiling the religion. Also, Nigeria is a good country but some bad nigerians like careytommy and kunlekunle are too tribalistic to allow her progress. I pity nigerians, not Nigeria. |
Projects $4bn capital injection into economy To stake $98m on capacity building for Almajiris THE Islamic Development Bank (IDB), yesterday, formally announced its entry into Nigeria with a firm commitment to lead the way in financing capital projects in the country. The development followed the approval of the board of executive directors of the bank for the establishment of pilot Country Gateway Offices in Nigeria, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, and Bangladesh. The bank, which had been quietly injecting capitals into various projects in Nigeria, announced that till date, it had committed about $470 million (N72.9 billion) in project and trade financing operations in various sectors of the Nigerian economy. Indeed, total of $4 billion (N620 billion) is expected to be injected into the nation’s economy in the next three years. At an Islamic Banking-Nigeria Business Forum in Abuja yesterday, the bank and the Federal Government sealed a $98 million (N15 billion) pact to implement the Bilingual Education Programme in Nigeria. The programme would support government’s policy to integrate and modernise the Almajiri system into formal schools and promote units and understanding, with a positive impact on Millennium Development Goal educational goals, and inclusive and value-based education. The programme is expected to get the Almajaris out of the streets and give them an equal opportunity to compete for jobs and earn a descent living. Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has called on the bank to support government’s infrastructure and general economic development by voting greater funds for Nigeria. Represented by the Vice-President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo, he said: “Nigeria, being an important member of the bank, is looking forward to such an opportunity to facilitate the re-building of its infrastructure, revamping the manufacturing sector and creating employment for our teeming youths.” Speaking on how the economy is performing, the President noted: “Our per capita income is expected to rise from $1,222 to $1,450. Inflation has also fallen from 12 per cent at end of 2010 to 10.3 per cent at present.” President of the IDB Group, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, used the opportunity provided by the forum to disabuse the minds of Nigeria about the Islamic banking system. He said: “The Islamic Development Banking Group is not a religious institution. It is a multilateral development finance institution similar to the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. “Like those institutions, the Islamic Development Bank seeks to promote the socio-economic development of its member countries by providing financing and technical support to critical priority development projects. The difference from other institutions is that the modes of IDB financing are based on Islamic finance principles which are based on the productive relationship between financial assets and real economic development aspirations.” He added: “Unlike the other multilateral development banks, the IDB does not deal with interest. Another distinctive feature of the IDB is that the membership of the IDB is composed entirely of developing countries, all in the Southern hemisphere countries which have broadly similar constraints and development challenges. In its lending activities, the IDB promotes solidarity among its member countries.” He listed some of the many intervention projects the bank was undertaking in Nigeria to include as the National Programme for Food Security, Zungeru dam project, Mambilla hydroelectric dam project, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway project, National Railway Rehabilitation project and the Shagamu-Benin dual carriage project. Ali stressed that the IDB had been rated Triple-A by the world’s leading rating agencies for almost the past ten consecutive years, before, during and after global financial crisis. |
Wylout:Classic indeed! No car model, pix funny etc. Me no no o! |
dbride:Some comments are just funny. So Allah (SWT) needs to talk to Solihu in the humanly manner of speech before he becomes a true muslim. I didn't know that everyday, Jesus meets you in school to shake hands with you and tell you which girlfriend to go out with before you became a good christian. If Solihu is a practicing muslim, then he would have communicated with his Creator 3 times today already! So what has that earned you? I think one of the problems of NL is all these secondary school boys who instead of facing their studies squarely, will come and cause nuisance on the forum. I don't blame you- Inetrnet is so cheap now, such that your type can afford to come here and insult God. Nonsense. |
Hi, Do you deal in the parts of othercars too? If so, how much will complete engine and gear box of Mazda 2001 American Spec model be? Engine 4 plugs, gear -auto. Also, engine and gear box of a Mitsubishi Diamante 2000 Model. Engine V6, gear box- auto. |
That guy always represents bad luck. I don't know why GEJ has not replaced him! idiot |
please carry out a market survey and know the market price of 01 Avensis! Thereafter, discount it well because ur car is a RHD. Your price is not reasonable. That is why no one is responding. |
May God forgive him all his sins and grant him Paradise. RIP. GEJ has started staining his hands with blood |
sholylaw:@sholylaw and Pro01: how old are u? I don't think you are more than 11 or 12 years old from your post above. Or better still, you have the brain of 11 or 12 year old boys/girls. If not, is the solution to head ache chopping off the head? BH are crazy and cursed people as we all agree, do we then need more crazy and cursed people around in Nigeria? with this visionless leaders that we are been punished with? All of u singing war songs really don't know what it means to go into a war. If you do, you will have a different opinion of the whole issue. what we lack in this country is leadership, and that is why I am not against military at this juncture! |
I wonder where we are going to in this country. Innocent souls are being lost via actions and inactions of a useless group of people (BH, Egbesu, GEJ, NPF, SSS, Azazi etc) yet some animals on this forum are happy, justifying this callous act as reprisals. If this is the mentality of the average nigerian, then we are not on the path of progress. |
sugar 001:Na wa o! who be d BH for dis mata? The mum or the son? The two of them are xtians now! A lot of mentally retarded guys nowadays. May God protect us o! |

GEJ.His antecedents show that he will win the race. He no go carry last at all at all. |
I am really surprised at the attention that is been accorded to this slowpoke called Beaf. His name already suggests that he beafs everyone because he is not privileged to have a straight faculty of reasoning like you guys. Just because GEJ is favouring one of the retardeens from his village, he is coming here to insult people. I don't engage such people intellectually because they have absolutely nothing to offer, just like GEJ. By the way, how come a racism like Beaf is quoting a hausa man from Kd? Thought he said they should be wiped out of the map or so, sometimes ago? Anyway na him business sha. Can any sane man have such racist comments as his footnote on his profile? God! |
Is this car sold? If not, someone told me he is interested. However, you did not respond to the issues raised earlier on. |
Is there no one to give us first hand information/ personal experience on the lagos-Ilorin train service until this day? we dey wait o! or has it been suspended? |
verbena:Mind sharing your experience and process of making the purchase online while in Naija? Specifically, explain how you make payment for the car, shipping, inspection etc and every other fee necessary b4 shipping. Also how do you get ur B of L to clear d car? How reliable are they? and every other thing you deem necessary. Probably it might be a better alternative. |
murphyjyde:Come on, be consistent. Are u advertising Nissan Versa or Nissan preari? Is it black or metallic grey? which of them is 550K? 8 speed automatic gear ? Are u sure? na wa o! pls clarify the above issues. Also provide VIN, except of course if it is from Europe. RHD converted? |
sirdarrys:You may wish to share your experience with forumites so that we can learn from it. |

frosbel:I understand you reside in the UK so the language should not be an issue here. I never said ISLAM means PEACE. I said and meant Islam represents and preaches Peace and not violence. Also, if you agree that a large proportion of muslims are non-violent and peaceful, why then do you attribute the sins and misdoings of a few to all and sundry? Except of course if the intent is to spread mischief which is what I think (please my opinion o, not that of Islam). Don't you think the reverse of your statement is the case: that those bombing innocent souls (BH) are ignorant of the religion that they practice,? Even statistical laws gives room for margin of tolerance which suggests that all muslims cannot be 100% right. On the issue of the Qur'an, Qur'an is not a religion, but the scripture of a religion. Hence, if we agree that Islam is not violent but peaceful, then invariably we have agreed that the Qur'an is also a peaceful revelation, because Islam has its roots in the Qur'an. What pains me most is when people label political organisations as religious organisations. HAMAS, Hezbollah, Muslim Brotherhood (Egypt) etc are all political organisations and not religious organisations!! These three bodies have both muslims and christians as members of their parties! That they have arabic names does not mean they are islamic/ muslim organisations. It is just like Bakassi boys forming a body to fight Cameroon, surely doesn't make that a christian organisation! I am sure you would have seen in my earlier posts on this thread (before I suspended my postings) that I said a muslim should never kill any one- muslim, christian , atheist etc and any muslim that kills a fellow human being (not in self defense and without the backing of an established law of the land) has invited the wrath of God upon himself and will be heavily punished in Islam ( in fact rot in hell according to Islam). Thus, their actions are anti-Islam and as such, you should not use them to judge Islam. They are the few bad eggs we have, and if we have the power, we want to remove them from our folk! Legitimately though!! ISLAM is never a threat to the world because ISLAM IS PEACE and the world needs peace now more than ever. Hence the world needs ISLAM. |
IMO, the OP has had enough opinions as to make him decide what he wants to do. What is left of the thread now is an avenue for people to settle their scores and defend their religions. Posts like those of frosbel will clearly give you an idea of what I am talking about. @Muslims: Let us be very careful with our posts because there is a very thin line between sin and reward. Remember that the Qur'an categorically tells us NEVER to insult what other people worship (religion) so that they will not intend to revenge by insulting what you worship (Allah SWT). Because of our statements, some people are already insulting Allah because we insulted their religions, lest the sins come back to us!. God can "defend and fight" for Himself. Let us remember the rationale behind Suratul Fil (The Chapter of the Elephants) @ Non-muslims: ISLAM is PEACE. BH is just one of the bad eggs amongst muslims, and that does not mean that they represent Islam or that they are acting on behalf of Islam and muslims. Christianity, Judaism, Bhuddism etc all have their own bad eggs and we will not judge anyone. God is aware of all that happens. |
@frosbel: I am trying as much as possible to avoid replying to your comments because IMO, your mission is just to insult muslims and Islam and not to engage in a matured dialogue. I expect you to exercise some restraints and display some sense of maturity (except of course if you are not matured). Your comments are usually very uncivil. Besides, the source of your story is very unreliable and confirms what I have said about you. @Lagos Shia: A muslim is a muslim, so long as you believe that Allah (SWT) is One and Muhammad (SAW) is His Messenger. Identifying yourself as a Shia muslim, not a muslim is not part of the teachings of the Prophet (SAW), that says all muslims are one. Little ideological opinions /issues does not stop you from been a muslim. Please I didn't insult anyone o, so I don't expect any insults pleassssssssssse! |
@Fokativ, Thanks. I try to make people realise one thing: a muslim or a christian has an intention - to worship that One Supreme God, who is the Creator of Heavens and Earths! Whether we make mistakes in the way, approach and manner of trying to worship this One Supreme God is another issue, but the intent is to serve Him. We muslims have some bad eggs within ourselves (just like every other religion) that does things contrary to the teachings of the religion and we quite acknowledge that, but that is not the position of Islam itself. Any muslim that takes arms against any human being (be he/she a muslim, christian, pagan etc) who did not take arms against the muslim, not for the purpose of defending himself/herself when his life is threatened (like during wars, battles etc) or executing the judgement of a legitimate court ruling HAS GONE CONTRARY TO ISLAM and has attracted the wrath of Allah (SWT)on himself because he has gone contrary to His teachings. The BH issue is purely a political organisation (but dressed in religious garment), as the recent revelations suggest, and all the sponsors should be identified and killed by the country because they have killed innocent lives (muslims, christians etc) who did not raise arms against them. To non-muslims, PLEASE TRY TO KNOW ISLAM, NOT SOME BAD MUSLIMS. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME THAT ISLAM IS PEACE. |
@Fokativ & frosbel Just imagine the double standards that you guys are using in judging muslims from christians. I cite a few examples below: Fokativ:What that called for? Is that not unprovoked insult? Isn't that an invitation to violence? Fokativ:You don't see the bolded parts as signs of non-tolerance, extremism and violence especially the ones in Red colour. But if a muslim says that, you call it violence and insult the Prophet that he believes in. Isn't that double standards? frosbel:Please note the bolded part. It is my opinion, and I made that very clear in my text. Besides, don't forget that I said God is patient, so I will never kill anyone with dagger or anything. I will not even slap him as he intends to slap the prophet. Far from that! That is not the teaching of Islam (to kill anyone or injure anyone). God is capable of handling him in the best ways known to Him. What is my business with him other than to make observations on his statements and correct him where I feel he is erring? On a final note, please don't take individual actions/ inactions as a representation of the collective actions/inactions of a group of people. That the useless BH / Abdul muttalab killed/attempted to kill several innocent souls does not mean they represent Islam. Islam is Salam which means PEACE. |
Fokativ:I truly wonder what people think when they make comments about issues. What has Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the above subject matter, that warrant such insults? But for the absolute patience of God, people like you should in my opinion be the fuel for Hell fire. @OP: You made a statement that summarised your condition- you had little or no knowledge of Islam and you are a muslim because your parents are muslims. IMO, that is why you are giving the idea of leaving Islam a thought. But a word of advice, don't make decisions based on others' attitude and actions (BH, press etc), but strictly based on reality and facts available to you. |
I experienced this twice last week, and was informed by a staff in glo customer care that it is peculiar to "glo Man U" cards. For those of us that have had the experience, can you confirm if your cards were glo Man U cards? |
If its cousin, great no problems. So far him/she fine well well ![]() But uncle, naaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh ![]() |
blackpanda:I did not say that a culture is wrong, as it reflects a way of life of a group of people. Thus, I cannot criticize yoruba culture nor say it is right or wrong. However, in the contemporary global village, you can't completely rule out the influence and effects of cultures on each other. This makes culture very dynamic and sometimes progressive. For instance, some cultures used to see "twins" as evil, but due to the influence of other cultures and dynamism of culture itself, that has stopped now. So also is the issue of shaving heads of widows which has to a very large extent stopped. One can also imbibe more than one culture. Examples can be found in the dressing (which can be both african and european), feeding etc. It is on this premise that Muslims try to integrate their native culture into the Islamic culture which is the primary culture for every muslim and not the other way round. This implies that if Islam can accommodate your native culture, then you can practice it e.g. respect for elders, dressing mode (for men), legitimate businesses etc. But where they differ, then Islamic culture is supreme (for muslims o!) e.g. worshipping of idols (in the old arabian pennisula), covering of head (for women), alcohols, interest related dealings etc must be shunned by Muslims because it conflicts with the Islamic culture. What we call the arabian culture is only a small part of the original arabian culture and largely Islamic culture, and that is why people think it is arabian instead of Islamic culture. |
