Car Talk › Re: Learner's Sign On A Public Transport Service by wellmax(m):
@OP, are you a learner, drivers employed to drive such buses are usually trained and assesed before they are eventually allowed to drive the public(hence the learner sign). That is the normal thing in every sane society. Even LAMATA/LAGBUS have such learning buses.

It is very unfortunate that several NLders are commenting trash. Hate or like Tinubu, there is nothing wrong in what he has said. Jonathan is the President of Nigeria and should caution his aides when they make statements that are likely to destabilize the fragile democracy in Nigeria.

Sir Alex Ferguson: "As for my players and staff, past and present, I would like to thank them all for a staggering level of professional conduct and dedication that has helped to deliver so many memorable triumphs. Without their contribution the history of this great club would not be as rich.

"In my early years, the backing of the board, and Sir Bobby Charlton in particular, gave me the confidence and time to build a football club, rather than just a football team.

"Over the past decade, the Glazer family have provided me with the platform to manage Manchester United to the best of my ability and I have been extremely fortunate to have worked with a talented and trustworthy Chief Executive in David Gill. I am truly grateful to all of them.

London (CNN) -- Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is retiring after more than a quarter of a century at the helm, the soccer club announced Wednesday.

The 71-year-old Scot has managed the English club -- which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and has millions of fans around the world -- since 1986.

During more than two decades at the helm, Ferguson has won more than 30 trophies, including 13 league championships and two Champions League wins.

Education › Re: Kano Students Protest Against JAMB Result by wellmax(op): 10:09pm On May 06, 2013
Hundreds of students, who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Monday in Kano, staged a peaceful demonstration against mass failure and withholding of their results.
The students stormed the premises of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria in Kano on motorcycles around noon and carried placards and green leaves to show their anger.
Spokesman for the candidates, Haruna Maidabam, described the withholding of their results as a deliberate attempt to deny them the opportunity to further their studies.
According to him, more than 10, 000 students who sat for the examination in Kano metropolis have yet to access their results.
Maidabam said when the results were released last week, they went to the zonal office of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in Kano (JAMB) to complain but were directed to go and repeat the thumb printing for verification.
‘’There is no reason for any verification of thumb- print,’’ he said.
He called on the authorities concerned to do something urgently to address their predicament.
When contacted, the JAMB Zonal Coordinator, Karimatu Abubakar, described the incident as unfortunate and attributed it to “some technical hitches”.
Mrs. Abubakar said as soon as the hitches were rectified, the issue would be resolved.

misterh: Airport in Osun statehuh I see it as a misplaced priority. There are airports in Lagos and Ibadan. Osogbo is like an hr drive from Ibadan. I don't see the need for an airport.
What is this one saying, so you think its wrong for every state to have its own Airport. Nawa for this kind mentality oo.
