Pipsland78: Hello good folks, pls I need a clarification on something: as someone who intends to do PhD in the US, do I need to send my MSc transcript to WES? Is the Wes thing only for transfer students?

First I think it's necessary to forward your MSc or any other credentials you intend to use in the state for evaluation.

Second WES is an organization that evaluate credentials for immigrant that schooled outside US and Canada. So I dont think its for transfer students only. WES are members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services Check out https://www.naces.org/members to inquiry, compare prices and methodology of other evaluating companies

Please house I need your assistance. My form was received on the 8th July, I updated the form on 30th August, Case no: 2014AF000018** I have not received my 2NL yet. I Emailed KCC on the 19th Nov this was their response

Your forms have been received and pending further embassy review for the continuation of your visa processing. KCC is currently scheduling visa numbers for your region for the month of January. Please refer to the visa bulletin at www.travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month.

I have also called KCC yesterday they said that my form is still processing

What do you think I should do now.

G2Glory: You have nothing to worry about, i had a change of name after my first degree & my 2nd degree (PG) was on a new name. All my WASCE/GCE & first degree were in old name. In as much as you have affivadvit for change of name & advert publication in one of the newspaper to support your claim.

You are good to go, concerning your testimonial, the school will definitely issue it with your old name & you don't need to tell them to do otherwise. Just think about ladies that got married, all their certificate still carry their maiden name.

Ensure you get your supporting document right. I wish you all the best IJN.

@G2Glory U ar right everyone that have contributed on this issue said the same thing as you did. I appreciate your advice Thank U. I have done my Affidavit of Change of Name and will be going to Vanguard Newspaper next week. I hope this will be enough to prove my case.

kevwe_flex: It should be in your old name, since that was what you were using then. There should be consistency in what you say and present. Since you've changed name and can prove you are the same person, you are just fine. The burden of proof is on you.

Please house I need ur help!... I made a change of name(Surname) after my secondary school in 2001. Now all my documents including my GCE results and first degree are in my current surname since then. And I also wrote NECO SSCE in my current name in 2005 but the results were cancelled
My problem now is that I want to collect my secondary school testimonia and I am confused if I should ask my school to issue my testimonia in my old name or current name. Thanks in advance for ur contributions.

Zeleez: Plz advise me on dis for those that already in US n those that hv idea of world education service, my VISA has bn approved plannin to cross over soon. Plz am a bachellor of Engineering Degree holder in Electrical Engineering and Electronic from one of the Nigerian universities, i plan sendin my transcript to WES for evaluation so that i can continue wit my masters dia but i heard engineering is not selling in US, i plan to change n start from d beginnin wit any medical course like nursing, plz do i stil need to send my transcript to WES for evaluation since i am changin from engineerin to medical line.

@zeleez I think EgbonBode have said it all. Believe me bro, you do not need to start allover like most people think. I understand Nursing is a very lucrative course in the US but do you know that health technology which is a field driven by ITand software development is the current face of healthcare business in the US today. Currently an automatum was issued by obama to all hospitals operating in the US to change their mode of services to Electronic Health Record (EHR) by 2015 and hospitals that couldn't meet up the 2015 deadline will face consequences such as decline in medicare funding & others

The point I am making here is that more jobs will be created in the IT and software industries. EHR is a software that allow patients access to their own health records, help decision making for Doctors, eprescription and referral options, the Nurses and Doctors can not manage this software. A hospital spent over 10million dollars to install an EHR, so you can imagine how important it is.

My advise for you is that you continue your postgraduate courses in any IT, software program because there is alot of opportunities there. Or better still take a program in biomedical engineering they are also needed in the medical device industries especially now that you have E/E in your first degree.

Rianatb: God still exepecting my 2NL,my case number is low,145*,and my form as deliver since 31th of july,and wen i send message to them ,they respond dat my form as been recieve and they ar processing it

@Rianatb You are not alone in this case, I am too. My forms have been confirmed since 8th july, case no: 18** but no 2NL yet. I guest they have a standard processing period of 12wks or more not too sure but going by the records of previous 2NL dates I have notice it last at least 12wks. Now from the date you qouted here your processing period is now 11wks while mine is about 14wks, so likely we might be scheduled for interview by Dec 2013 or at worst jan 2014. so stop worrying yourself and focus more on building your confidence for the interview. For me no time is too late to go the state especially now that God have intervene for my case.

bamideleniayo: Please am asking this in relation to the response I got in my 1st request... Can someone be granted a Visa with the normal Qualification being SSCE irregardless of the number of years that has gone by without getting a BSc. And will the CO ask what the person has been doing all thru those years after getting his SSCE
And secondly.:---. If someone sends his or her forms to KCC with just SSCE which is the basic requirement and without indicating the fact that he has a BSc maybe due to problems or delay in the issuance of the result statement or certificate from the said school; Will it be said to be a concealment of a material fact if the said person gets to the US and tries getting his transcript or even gets it as a Bsc holder to further his Education Pls help...very urgent.

If ur friend had previously applied for the DV indicating a university degree as his highest qualification, I will advice he should go to the interview wit his university transcripts even though he is yet to officially obtain a notification of result for completion of degree. A transcript showing completed years of studies and courses taken will better position him before the consular than just SSCE. However, he will have to be prepared to answer questions base on this qualification.

Darhmee: Someone who already went for his interview in the 2013 thread said it wont affect you. He said its just a way for KCC to track loose forms in their office. He didnt write his case number on his form and that of his fam and yet, their visa was granted. Do not worry
