RomanceRe: Do People Think I'm Gay Because I've Never Been In A Relationship? by Welrez(m): 2:19pm On Mar 01, 2015
I've a similar problem like you. I've been in relationships but just can't handle their intensity. I'm just off and on, drifting like the sea. I've even nursed the thought of joining the clergy and remaining celibate for life.
PoliticsRe: Gej Plot To Ground Airplanes, Freeze Bank Accounts Of APC To Stop Buhari by Welrez(m): 12:58am On Mar 01, 2015
When did the APC start to own private jets? I thought I read Buhari saying he borrowed money to buy the APC presidential form? Rivers people, behold your state purse lying plundered.

PoliticsRe: CHANGE: So Disappointed With APC, Has Gone To PDP by Welrez(m): 6:22pm On Feb 23, 2015
The temperament of Buhari is unsuitable for a budding democracy like ours. He reeks of our beastly past to ever convince me that he is capable of driving change in sophisticated modern Nigeria. I don't mean to undermine GMB with this comment, but it is just how I feel about him. For goodness' sake, the man has obviously made no personal progress since he left office thirty years ago.
EducationRe: Common Mistakes We Make In English And Their Correct Expression by Welrez(m):
The expression 'practice makes perfect', though ungrammatical, is universally recognised to be correct.

The fault with the use of by and with in sentence number 7 is due to the differences between BrE and AmE.

I've seen the use of WITH instead of ON in expression number 19 in the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary.

The basic difference between our pidgin and standard English is the misuse and the total elimination of prepositions.
There is also the occasional misuse of adjectives; e.g. Peter is a talkative instead of Peter is talkative. Adjectives, when they end a sentence, are rarely preceded by articles.
EducationA Funny Thing A Student Has Done by Welrez(op): 1:28pm On Feb 21, 2015
While doing this morning clean-up at home, my memory took me to those early days after service when one was hawking one's CV like Akara and buns on the streets. What steadied my flashback was what a student did in a school I once taught. A fellow teacher had told her class in their first C.A to list the first ten chemical elements and this girl, instead of leaving out that particular question for lack of knowledge, went ahead to list it as follows:
1. Oxygen 2. Hydrogen 3. Nitrogen 4. Sleeping 5. Swimming 6. Jumping 7. Over 8. Above 9. Bird... I can't recall the number ten item. We couldn't help erupting in laughter as the teacher read the script to us.
This incident made another teacher to tell us his own ordeal, how he asked the same class to mention 3 problems of national population census in Nigeria and a student wrote: 1. You. 2. You 3. You.
Thereafter, we just went to the said class and wrote 'Olodo Republic' across the entrance. Students can be rude and funny sometimes.
Fellow Nairalanders, let me hand over to you at this juncture to recount a stupid or funny thing a student has done to you as a teacher or one you've done to a teacher as a student.
Happy Weekend.

PoliticsRe: Dedicated To People Who Broadcast BH Atrocities For Politics by Welrez(m): 10:14am On Feb 20, 2015
No sane society would put down its military for the sake of petty electoral success. I pity those who say such dastardly things about the military and broadcast their failure to the larger world for they are directly cooking their own misfortune. You can't have your cake and eat it. Patriotism is in words as in actions.
PoliticsRe: APC Lied Again - Buhari Not Listed As A Speaker In Chatham House by Welrez(m): 10:07am On Feb 20, 2015
Greed blunts the senses. If the north should fall into this trap again, I won't stop anyone who calls them cows. The man looks sickly. Once bitten twice shy. 2019 is not too far.
PoliticsRe: Shameless OBJ Must Learn From Bush Who Has Not Publicly Degraded The Oval Office by Welrez(m): 7:28am On Feb 19, 2015
People may come here to justify OBJ's acts, but the question I always ask is, would OBJ accept such a behaviour from a former president when he was in power? The answer is NO. What I see is that self-seeking perenniality to remain relevant. And it's apt to say OBJ is not alone in this. Many of our former heads of state suffer from this malaise.
PoliticsRe: Cabal Begin Fleeing, Launder Loot As Buhari/osinbajo ‘integrity’ Govt Looms by Welrez(m): 7:19am On Feb 19, 2015
What about Tinubu? What about Rotimi Amaechi? What about Saraki?... What about the domestication of the FOI in APC states? And for those who believe that corruption can be curbed by throwing pple into Kirikiri are living in the Stone Age. It's one thing to fight corruption and another to actually identify corrupt people and institute both proactive and reactive measures against it. The question is, is GMB sophisticated enough to that extent to be able to implement such sweeping measures? I sincerely doubt it for all I hear is throwing pple into Kirikiri. What I see coming, if it happens at all, is just a mere change of our exploiters.

God will help Nigeria......

Abacha regime was better..... God I fear this GEJ so much.... And God will help us out
Abacha's regime was better? Jeez, has it descended to this level? Nigerians seem to suffer from collective historical amnesia, perpetually seeing every succeeding govt to be worse than the previous. No wonder OBJ is now regarded as a saint. And if you're unable to cure yourself of this malaise, I swear you will say the same of the govt that will succeed Jonathan's.

PoliticsRe: Obama's Media Team Responsible For APC's "CHANGE" Campaign - Washington FB by Welrez(m): 11:23pm On Feb 09, 2015
For every single thing that the APC have criticised the PDP, they have done more. The real change I want is when the APC states domesticate the FOI.

PoliticsRe: Who Is Corrupt? by Welrez(m): 11:33am On Feb 09, 2015
In Nigeria, a sane government seems to face the greatest opposition. What OBJ did was a mere cosmetic war against corruption. The sin of GEJ is that he destroyed the 'Owambecracy' some Nigerians are used to. Though his greatest failure is in the area of security, GEJ would be warmly remembered as a president who made the transition from dictatorship into democracy in Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: It Will Be Too Bad If INEC Compromises And Postpone The Elections – Buhari by Welrez(m): 1:12pm On Feb 07, 2015

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Or Not, N’delta Will Resume Militancy This Year – Briggs by Welrez(m): 10:39am On Feb 06, 2015
The hypocrisy of many Nigerians becomes evident whenever issues of oil and its negative impacts on the environment are discussed. When it comes to oil, they are in a hurry to say it's our oil but when its negative impacts on the environment are discussed, like oil spillage, they would say it's the Niger Delta's problem. How many non-Niger Deltans have openly agitated for the cleaning up of the Niger Delta? How many NGOs have been formed to that end by non-Niger Deltans? When OBJ bombed Odi and Yar'adua did same to Ayakoromor and Gbaramatu, how many Nigerians raised their voices against the genocide? How do you expect people like Asari to extend sympathy to the North-Easterner when people don't extend same to the the Niger Deltan. Let us continue to deceive ourselves that all is well when we're actually sitting on an ember. The existence of injustice and exploitation together with internal hegemony, which is made more glaring in the unequal and prebendal distribution of oil blocs, have continued to favour revolutionary pressure and deepen radicalism in our polity.
