Women are really simple creatures. All you need is to become a complex creature to her.

You're cleverly confusing me with your grammar. embarassed cry
I thought I was simple and clear enough. I'm sorry about the grammatical confusion.
BTW, our dear Nairaland is also something to make us acknowledge man's progress. Imagine today we are engaging in an academic banter without any face-to-face knowledge and from the comfort of our rooms, which was not possible a century ago. Life has become a lot easier but we not up there yet.

You're saying things are better? huh
Yes, but not perfect or where we wish to be. For instance, I'm a staunch advocate of the belief that man is never civilised until he defeats poverty. I say so because poverty is at the bottom of many vices existing in our society. I hope you won't read politics into our discourse.

I will comment after doing a comparative analysis with other countries and past governments. Unintelligent and uneducated criticism is bad for your health.

The world IS going from bad to worse. This isn't about religion.

Check am:
Boko Haram, crime is on the rise, loose people everywhere, pastors mingling with politicians, hardship et cetera, et cetera ad infinitum

Are you directly or indirectly saying these does not affect you? undecided
Would you have chosen to live at the time of the Egyptian, Assyrian, Babylonian, etc empires to now? Can you compare the havoc of terrorism to the Dark Age after the demise of the Roman Empire? Or between 1914-18 and 1939-45? On morality I won't attempt for lack of concrete measuring criteria but the case of Sodom and Gomorrah is glaring enough. Where you live, would you prefer living there in the sixteen century of slavery and wars to now? Can you compare the Great Depression to the current economic recession?

What's your thought on the matter? undecided
I feel a lack of understanding man's progress has beclouded many a christian's view on the world. There is always this attempt to see the world as receding to savagery, which is not actually true since the events of the present era are comparable to the one's of the past. Man has conspicuously made progress, even though arguably. I suspect conservative christians have bought into premillennianism to detain believers in fear and to facilitate control. So I'm massively interested in having the views of others on this topic. It is my view that premillennialism encourages pessimism unlike postmillennialism.

I'm still left to wonder why the APC jettisoned bright young minds like Fashola, Kwakwanso, Adam Oshiomole, etc to choose an old man. What worries me more about GMB is not even his age but the age of his ideas; e.g, I will stabilise oil price.

I really don't know what you're talking about dude, I don't cry in my closet, who does that?

So on top of the heartbreak, you want to add suffocation to my problems.

Please I cry outside where there is fresh air, besides there's no need for a hankie when you cry outside, because the sun will dry your tears.

So OP, next time you decide to cry, please choose a proper location.
OP is a sissy...

This is why I like my sister. She is so immune to all these petty talks of husband scarcity, abi na husband price or demand. She is so focused on making her money.
Back to topic: OP, the reason why this social concept is becoming more pronounced is partly due to monogamy. Our ancestors operated on polygamic times and never encountered it. There was no rampant prostitution too. It is a bitter truth that we have to admit.

PoliticsRe: E-X-P-O-S-E-D!!!!BUHARI Lied About His Schools Andcertificate(s). by Welrez(m): 10:48am On Jan 02, 2015
Buhari will continue to rouse more propaganda by not producing his credentials. Let him produce them to put an end to all this. Or does he have a skeleton in his cupboard? Personally I suspect his education though education alone is not a yardstick for good leadership. Buhari, produce your credentials and quench the propaganda and insults. Enough said, I rest my case.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Are Many Introverts Garrulous Online? by Welrez(op): 12:01am On Jan 01, 2015
tpia2012:
you're welcome, thanks for acknowledging my post.

true, you mentioned the internet in general, but i specified nairaland as a case study. Narrowing it down, so to speak.

I've found people's characters online tend to follow their characters offline, generally speaking, looking at it from the pov of personality, instead of cliques which obtains here. Members of a clique will often present a false image of another member, for various reasons.

Personality wise, if an introvert appears garrulous online, then chances are that is their real personality, barring shyness or reticence when you meet them in public.

The way they type is usually a fairly good indicator of how they are, all things being equal.

Reticence means an unwillingness to speak or a reluctance to interact freely: being reserved. This is often grouped together with introversion but sometimes it doesnt mean the person is necessarily introverted, especially if they socialize more than an average introvert and enjoy people's company.

shyness is a feeling based on fear, unwillingness to interact or speak because of it.

Introversion can be a combination of the two, many more, or just one. It depends.
I've seen the opposite in real life and was greatly surprised. I think there is also the chance of the pen's inability to express the many words of the mouth. Thank you very much for your comment.

I've a friend Stella who is so garrulous and active online that made me meet her offline. I expected to see a lively person who would be interesting to be with but to my utmost surprise, she turned out to be shy and boring. She is a reason why I opened this thread.

nl is not really a good indicator of personality types, you'd have to check other social media sites for that.

besides, your premise is wrong.

would you call the site owner garrulous, for example?

compare with say orikinla, would you expect him to be introverted offline?

nl is more about cliques than it is about individuals or personality.
Bro, first of all, I would like to thank you for commenting on my thread.
I never said that my parameter or k-square is Nairaland. I think I used the word online and I made reference only about people I know offline who are reserved and shy but are garrulous and active online.

Do you mean they are emboldened by the facelessness? But then there is also the problem of extroverts keeping so reserved or mum online. I've seen a case like that too. Why the role swap?
Nairaland GeneralWhy Are Many Introverts Garrulous Online? by Welrez(op): 1:58pm On Dec 30, 2014
Most garrulous and active people I know online are actually shy and taciturn in real life. I'm pondering on this from experience with friends and colleagues who are so reserved in real life yet are so talkative and outspoken online. Why is it so? Are they emboldened by the facelessness the internet provides?
Nairalanders, what are your views on this?

Christianity EtcAre Things Really Getting Worse In The World? by Welrez(op): 3:07pm On Dec 19, 2014
This is a recurring topic with conservative christians who quote it to augment their preaching on the need for one to be born again and maintain his godliness since we are in the last days. But my question is, are things really getting worse? Or is it their belief in eschatology and premillennialism that is responsible for this view? Do they mean this present age is worse than the whole past of human history?

In a serious committed relationship you should have taken his laundry and done it even without him having to ask you to do it.
What do you think marriage is all about?
- free maid and slave for husband and children.
-24 hours job, no leave no pay. cheesy

You don`t enter into a marriage and then suddenly start washing the cloths because of the ring.
If you love him you can do it with the joy of doing something for him.
I'm quoting you because I really like your comment. She comes here seeking advice from some people who can hardly manage their own relationships and probably going away with an attitude that ruins relationships. This is a simple matter that can be easily talked over instead of coming here to pick ideas that can complicate issues.
