blank:Where you there when he gave the instruction to your Fada? |
Actually read this in a newspaper on Monday, it sounds far fetched but I think there's got to be some sort of explanation. |
This had me wondering if the entire internet traffic in Northern Nigeria is routed through Atiku's American University of Nigeria (AUN). But even at that you'd expect the scale to tilt in favour of Lagos. Representatives of one of the most important internet companies in the world visited AUN last week and came away impressed.Forgive my ignorance but I just dont understand how this is possible (Perhaps I didnt get something right) so I'll d appreciate being enlightened. To put this in context let me quote a lecturer in the university Derrill Watson (http://econwatson..com/2011/09/fascinating-sentences-aun.html) "Our school of less than 2000 people uses more internet than all of Lagos (14 million) and Abuja (the capitol) COMBINED" So much for Lagos being the country's technological hub! |
^^^ Lagcity abi na wetin be your name, pls step aside and let the Northerners have a civil discussion. I and i believe a whole lot of folks would love to know what an average northern youth makes of the political future of this country. This is about as close as we might get to 'overhearing' a conversation between our Northern brothers. Oya jare my people, make una continue |
emmatok:Na guilty conscience dey worry you. cap28:Are u ok at all? Where's the logic in your argument? those that withheld recognition temporarily did they do so because of dying civilians? Why take so much pride in displaying such ignorance? |
oyb:Buhahahaha! You got me there, funny as hell. And may I ask; been where? Done what? Oloshi millionaire by association who's only hope is to hang out long enough with the successful and hope 'something - anything' rubs off! It's folks like you that spend their lifetime studying Alchemy and lie in the grave wondering why it never worked! Keep heaping useless metals hoping for a breakthrough. Olodo squared! |
cap28:And what else should one expect to hear when an agama lizard gets on cyber space? Soyinka a paid agent? Are there no limits to foolishness? you even had guts to call names - the unbelievable effrontery of a sun heated red necked cold blooded animal! |
If you were not too much of a mischief maker you'd know to blame the managers of the hospital and not Jonathan. This is akin to you blaming your father for your being such a terrible Moderator? Your Papa neva try? |
A good thread until a 'Nigerian Girl' that doesnt know when to keep shut or pursue an unreasonable argument showed up. The irony of a certified mofo picking on Soyinka! SMH |
Beaf:^^^ Bros, take am easy o cos some people fit get "stroke" before tomorrow morning! #NL's 3 resident ACN Goons! I no want hear say person enter lagoon go answer call of nature again o! ![]() |
johnie:Now that's the tone of a man tired of the endless shenanigans of the ACN and her band of noisy sycophants, I bet he's silently crying out for some fresh Air! |
johnie:Naaaaa, not a chance! It's actually in the spirit of honesty and objectivity and not allowing anyone pull the wool over your eyes or numb your sense or reasoning. And the Vindication of Johnny boy continues. How many times now? Someone remind me cos I've lost count! |
^^^ Owerri is quite hilly though its hills are not as obvious as Enugu's, but certain areas are obviously elevated and the views to the rest of the city are quite breathtaking. I know this may sound like Taboo to some but Ohakim must be given tremendous credit for his effort in restoring Owerri and replacing Okada's with the kekes and BRT style buses, he left a legacy that any honest person should give him credit for. |
Ermm, pls skip to the bolded if you've got issues with "big grammar" and comprehension. MONDAY, 03 OCTOBER 2011 00:00 FROM OGHOGHO OBAYUWANA, ABUJA IT was one of the rare instances of Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka endorsing the Federal Government’s actions. To him, the logic of Nigeria’s recognition of the National Transitional Council (TNC) of Libya was so compelling that it could only elicit his approval. Prof. Soyinka’s submissions were contained in the full lecture he initially delivered at the 50th anniversary of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), made available to The Guardian at the weekend. Soyinka noted that “neither Nigeria, nor any other nation, will decide in isolation what sort of governance will operate within her borders.” Defending Nigeria’s position on Libya, he said: “The act of striking out boldly on behalf of people, in unambiguous opposition to state, when the state turns cruel and oppressive, is a pointer to the direction that we outlined at the beginning. ‘Breaking ranks’ is not the pejorative indication that it is simplistically made out to be. If the ranks are compromised, you break with them. If such compromises make them drag their feet in a moment of critical, potentially affective decision, you break off and set the pace for the rest to follow. Risk or no risk, it is an honorable position.” According to Soyinka, “the days of governance mystification will be decisively over. Humanity will have discovered, certainly long before the end of the twenty-first century, that issues of governance have always been adjustments between two distinct polarities – Power and Freedom. “Be that as it may, Nigeria’s (initial) unilateral action at the significant moment conveniently takes us straight into the heart of this address since, fortunately, the nation did get it right this time, one of the rare occasions when she can look her face in the mirror without averting her eyes in disgust, and even look down in condescension on her fellow occupants of the continental shelf.” Soyinka recalled that “there was another such moment in our past, to my recollection - this was when the government of Murtala Muhammed came out in favour of liberation forces of MPLA as opposed to UNITA, the latter having proved heavily compromised by its close ties to Apartheid South Africa.” He continued: “This is one of the reasons – just to focus on Libya for a while – why I take the view that critics of Nigeria’s early recognition of the Libyan insurgents, are not only rehashing time-worn political platitudes, but placing themselves on the wrong side of history. These critics are also guilty of the crime of which they try to convict the act – hastiness. They assume that the surrender, or seizure of the ropes of control automatically liberates the masquerade into the hands of the Libyan insurgents. Or else they are on the alert against usurpation in only one direction – the much hated, justly excoriated West. ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63070:-soyinka-defends-govts-action-on-libya&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 |
^^^ My Good Lawd! I was actually more in shock from the 'Engris' than the story! |
diluminati:Sist, you had me rolling with laughter. Funny funny funny, hope the SSS' sense of humour is as good as mine sha! |
^^^ What I think prolly doesnt matter but for the records, IBORI DIDNT DO VERY WELL IN DELTA STATE, At least not better than Uduaghan. I'm not holding brief for Uduaghan as i believe he's just as confused as his cousin was but I just feel irked when i hear folks compare both, there are no basis really. |
Take it from someone who's disgusted by Tinubu's ACN and their brand of politics; its Reality. Oshiomhole has done wonderfully well and changed the face of that state in such a short while. |
maclatunji:Nne gi ko Mpa gi ni. |
I've been heavily disturbed by this problem as I'm a heavy mobile phone poster -nothing beats the ease of using a mobile, it usually happens when i make a long post but mostly when i insert a quote. Its not only embarrassing but could be pretty frustrating as well esp when you factor in all these slow networks. Nice to know someone's worried enough to look for a solution. Good one. |
^^^ My guess is you're his daughter. Hope that's as good as yours? |
^^^ Vultures only gather when there's a carcass to feed on. |
Funny I didnt read any silly comment from clowns when Gej used his platform to advertise the works of Reno Omokri. Now he's doing same for Douglas and there's got to be something fishy? Oronto Douglas is a respected member of the Gej team and there's nothing wrong with helping him out with some publicity, esp when it is hoped that his page wld draw some of you away, we all know he's pretty good in unmasking morons and doesnt suffer foools kindly! |

I'm beginning to think this has got something to do with schooling in UNIJOS! |
Demdem:And why shouldnt I compare both? Cos One is a Mallam and the other an Owelle? And how can you tell who's wiser? how many protests did we see in the streets of Owerri when Rochas named his equally bloated cabinet to justify your assertion that "What a mallam will do and we will ignore, Rochas dare not try it unless he will feel the heat"? And just how well educated is Rochas compared to Mallam Yuguda? May I also remind you that Yuguda was tipped to replace Soludo as CBN Governor, Here are their Wikipedia profiles and I'll leave you to judge who's more educated. Isa Yuguda was born on 15 June, 1956 in Yuguda. He studied at the North East College of Arts & Science in Maiduguri (1974 – 1976) and then at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1976 - 1979), graduating with a BSc in Economics. He obtained a Masters in Business Administration in 1998 at the University of Jos in Plateau State.[4] Rochas, an Igbo, was born on 22 September 1962 in Ogboko, Ideato South, Imo State. He attended Juladaco High School, Jos (1976-1981). He studied at the University of Jos (1990-1991), obtaining a diploma in Public Administration. He returned to the University of Jos (1993-1994) to obtain an advanced diploma in Public Administration.[2] Career positions include President, Nigeria Red Cross Society, President/Founder, Rochas Foundation Inc, President, Rochas Group of Companies Limited, Pro Chancellor, African Business School and Former Chairman, Board of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency. Not all mallams stopped in Normadic school. |

Expect some Nairaland resident ediots to come up with criticisms like; 'Why was the governor the one that ordered the arrest? Is he a prosecutor? Why was he cuffed by the police, is he a criminal? Why was he bundled into the back of a pick up truck instead of being escorted to station? Dont u know he's a retired Major?' Awon Oloshi! |
An independent Palestinian government strongly backed by Hamas and Hezbollah with freedom to become what it wants to be and trade with whoever it wishes? What really has the PLO done to deserve statehood? All I've heard are emotional comments far torn from the reality that is the Middle East, the Middle East is a tinder box, statehood for Palestinians wld only ignite it, the rest of the world knows it and even though they all show open support for independence, they are counting on the US' veto to maintain peace. |
milehigh06:Yes I do. Do you? |
Jonathan I believe should know better, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not one to be rationalized, its a predestined David vs Goliath struggle that David is destined to win no matter the obstacles. You can not ignore the hand of God when this conflict is mentioned except perhaps you're an atheist, this is God's chosen land and its destiny isnt in the hand of mere mortals. Pat Robertson was forced to issue an apology after he pointed out that 'God had struck Ariel Sharon down for tryin to carve up his land' but the significance of his statement wasnt lost in the US or in Israel and it further strengthened both nations positions. The only thing "safe" is siding Israel Gej take note. |
