^^^ Very touching i must say, but like i said, it depends on who you listen to and what you listen to. The bottomline still is 'God', when you get to understand and live for him, you'lld actually cease from all the needless struggles and self inflicted pain.

I'm not contemplating suicide but this life could be frustrating at times, imagine someone graduating from the university since 2008 without a job,no means of livelihood,no husband, no fiancee, hearing people's success stories everyday but have nothing successful to say about your life, yet you still have people that expects to feed from you, after all they are not your parents and they saw you thru school, you have to pay back one way or the other, not knowing the way forward for some people that are not strong willed could lead to committing suicide.
I have a friend who aside all you just said above except actually graduating in 2006 with a very good result and has obtained professional qualification in her field, is yet to find a job aside the joke during NYSC yet not even Dangote has a more positive attitude than she's got! It depends on what/who u choose to listen to and those u hang around with. You cant lead a mundane life and expect to draw from inner strength during tough times when you're literally empty. Life is not a playground, we all need an anchor for the inevitable storms it presents and the first misstep is always an anchor called a human being! Seek true strength in God.

So what next? Lets start impeachment proceedings cos the president lied about his age based on TV evidence (from someone who possibly could have had a hearing problem enough to mistake '65 for '55 for all i know) No? Ok lets just have a good laugh at yet another 'gaffe' from that 'Otueke man' who just happens to be your President. You just have to give it to these guys - a hot grenade I mean, they sure have earned it!

Only in Nigeria will we have a civilian president need a Soldier to stand behind him. What function does that soldier serve, is he counting lice or inspecting GEJ's ogo?

Also I believe the defence budget was N348bn last year, why is there a N600bn increase to N920bn in 2011.

It seems some GEJ supporters cannot take objective criticism (note I am not including BEAF in this, as he has been objective on this thread so far).
Which of your ignorant rant above qualifies as 'objective criticism'?

Capital budget up by %15, budget deficit put at about 2.5% of GDP, Duty on rice to increase to between %35-%50 beginning from March next year so effectively no more waivers or concessions for rice importation. All import duty on power equipments to be suspended next year.
Oil production target at 2.4m barrells per day and benchmarked at a price of $70 a barrel with the naira projected to go for 155naira to $1. Inflation rate expected to rise by 9.5%.

^^ That means he was 'delivered' from demonic oppression doesnt it? I think it all boils down to individual interpretation of the term. While it can be argued that the term 'deliverance' kind of creates a consciousness of a Christian being subject to demonic influence, it remains a fact that a Christain under demonic influence requires some sort of 'deliverance' from such oppression. I dont think any other word exist to take its place but at the same time its meaning must not be miscontrued or confused with Salvation.

@God2man
The term deliverance is my concern here. A natural man who is not born again is under the dominion of darkness. But salvation is our deliverance from the devil. When a man is saved he is delivered. The Greek word "soteria" means salvation and also deliverance . We were delivered from dark kingdom when we got saved

Colossians 1:13
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

If a christian man have demons in him, several things can be responsible . It could be that the demons which left him came back through his carelessness. But that's not even the point. We are not contesting the fact that a christian can have a demon in him, it's possible. Several things can open him up. Such as sin. Ignorance of the word of God, unforgivieness, bitterness and and many other things.

My concern is the terminology used by ministers for the process of expelling a demon "deliverance" a christian is a Boss to Satan. If you don't know who you are ,Satan will take advantage. A christian has authority over Satan , not to talk about his demons. So "I need deliverance from this demon" sounds degrading to me for a son of God.

Luke 10:19
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Is there a term you'd rather have people use? IMHO, Deliverance is a safe enough term, its not like its being mistaken for Salvation.

SMH

@OP, If your mum had a broker and her share certificates had already been verified and assigned a CSCS number, then half your problem is solved. All you have to do is track down her broker or broking house and issues a sell order - of course it may not be easy getting them to sell off if your late mum didnt put your name as her next of kin in her dematerialization form which should be in the posession of her brokers - if you successfuly place an acceptable sell order then the only thing left is to go to your late mum's bank where she maintained her shares current a/c and claim the proceeds after submitting adequate proof of entitlement as required by the bank and law.
It really wont take that much time and the role a lawyer has to play would be minimal but of course these all depends on the status of her shares - Verified or not. If they arent yet verified then you've got to pay good attention to all the legal jargons i read above. Goodluck.

Bet you're also not aware the deceased had been declared wanted twice by the police before he traveled abroad, caught and detained for some months before he was curiously released after being charged for Murder! Is it not curious that each time he's spoken about what is always pointed to is the fact that he was once a gubernatorial candidate (even though he always stepped down before the contest?) Why dont we get to hear about his business, career, family and accomplishments? Abeg just leave Matter for Matthias.

Beaf:
The question of wether the man was good or bad does not arise where the law has been so flagrantly broken and an extra-judicial execution has taken place. You imply that Onokpite was a cult lord that terrorised others, but surely that should have been dealt with in court?

I am not aware that Onokpite was involved in thuggery of any sort (I could be wrong), so please could you provide some info?

Onokpite's death has raised very ugly questions that are of epochal significance.
The Law abused? Really? The reason most folks are indifferent out here is cos someone that seemed to live above those supposed laws has come undone by another set of fellows with no regard for the law they are supposed to be custodians of. If you've been paying attention to news from Warri esp the Uvwie axis you'd be aware there has barely been peace and if the authorities were ever going to be serious in tackling the real problem, high stake casualties wld be involved. So there you have it. We know the Nigerian police are naturally overzealous and seem to have idiocy flowing in their veins, but sometimes one cant help but cut them some slack. The current LG Chairman in the Uvwie lg is the younger brother of the late notorious thug called Ghadafi simply handpicked as compensation to the family, one of the most feared name in this part is a certain Newton, tried and imprisoned but broke out of jail and now roams free as an untouchable and political power broker. My point? Ours is a society that rewards gangsterism and thuggery, the tougher you are the higher you go and the police unwittingly become nothing but political tools except when they decide to do what unfortunately is called 'extrajudicial murder' because the system cant be relied upon to mete out justice or that which it manages to mete out is so easily be subverted. We've got serious problems i tell you.
Politics › Re: Delta Govt Washes Hands Off Onokpite’s Killing by wesley80(m): 11:49am On Dec 10, 2011
Beaf:
What bothers Delta state indegenes is the graphic description of Onokpite's death in police custody by his driver.
Maybe you should have said 'some Delta indigenes' cos I can assure you not all are bothered, at least not those that knew the antecedents of the deceased. The brutal extra judicial murder of an individual is condemnable no doubt just as it is alien to our culture to celebrate the death of an individual, that said, in these parts there have been certain exits that've got residents heaving a sigh. Names like Friday Ani, Osama(not Bin laden), Yellow man, Gadaffi (not muammar) to mention a few all have one thing in common - untimely and mostly violent ends and now people are adding Ogbe's name to that ignominous list!
It's funny how these things play out in the media and one gets to read all sorts of twists, but was the deceased just a 'good man' that met his end in the hands of a senseless bunch of law enforcement agents? Senseless - yes, Good man? - hardly. If you live in same city where one of the notorious self styled lord got arrested a few years ago only to break out of the Ogwashi Ukwu prisons and now walks freely with his past crimes forgotten while he outdoes himself, you'd be tempted to reconsider your view of extrajudicial murder! - America certainly did.
I keep hearing them say he was a governorship candidate so he's got to have been reputable, really? a willing and ready stooge? the less said the better but dont get swayed by half truths and cheap propaganda. Whether or not ' his excellency' had anything to do with it does not bother people around here who are just glad to sit back and watch 'they that live by the sword die by the sword' one after the other! Many things to be bothered about and the exit of a self styled lord isnt one.

I asked her why and she simply said it was easier on the tongue, well I couldnt really fault her choice cos just as my parents would refer to God as Oliseh Osobulue my generation would simply end the discussion at 'Chukwu' and communication would be guaranteed. Everyone with their heads where they ought to be knows Tinubu is a CRIMINAL and being acquitted on some ridiculous technicality does NOT in anyway exonerate him or confer Sainthood on him, afterall Ibori was also acquitted in a competent court of law but it never changed what we knew about him and neither did it change the fact that he's a criminal, his day came and be rest assured that Tinubu's day will come. Enjoy your pyrrhic victory while it lasts.
