Please house my questions is this: what if during medicals it is revealed that I'm pregnant, would it affect my chances of being granted visa?

How old is your pregnancy? Usually blòod test does not cover for pregnancy test and chest and CT scans does not show your stomach. If your bump is very obvious, your panel doctor may advice you not to go for your chest x-ray or may inform dibp about it when submitting your result.

I know an ex work mate from Zimbabwe who came on a student visa and had her baby 5months after. That was 3 years ago so don't know if rules have changed. Presently dibp change rules on every visa subclass on a monthly bases.

Hello, please I want to find out if embassy accepts Attestation of birthday declaration for student visa processing. Thanks

Dont worry about birth certificate or attestation. Your certified passport, drivers licence and national identity card will do.

If you have a friend or family member who runs a business in Australia and meet up the requirements for sponsorship they can sponsor you. Hence, you still need to write the english test as it part of the requirements for PR.

Dude please stop giving people false hope and be honest with them. Yes there are good people but how many are willing to spend millions on strangers on constant basis?

I have not asked anyone to go loom for a stranger. Prior to now ANYONE could sponsor you as an AL1 which includes a stranger.

My response was based on the question asked "can anyone sponsor me?" ANYONE includes strangers okay. So if a person is lucky to find a stranger then their luck.

When I was about to apply for my PR i had people i never knew from Adams wanting to provide their company documents so I can stay in Australia.

Strangers can invest in people they see prospect in or they want to help.

An uncle is not a stranger, an uncle can sponsor his nephew or niece if his is financially capable because they share the same family name.
You are also giving wrong information. According to the recent update from immigration, only your parents or spouse can sponsor you on AL1 which i just posted the url in my previous comment.

Like i said to you before stop deceiving and misleading applicants here, do not encourage them to lie or withhold any info in their visa application form.

http://lawquestinternational.com/article/immigration-data-shared-between-nations
Immigration hardly check on that or even deny your visa base on that. Australia may share database with New Zealand and USA with Canada but not UK and USA etc.
Immigration does not have the time to do background checks on that.
But then it doesn't mean one has to lie about it when asked.

That is not true, why would a complete stranger invest millions in you and how would you convince the embassy that it is act of charity/good will gesture?

Yes there are heaps of good people every where except for most african countries which Nigeria is very much included. There are good people in australia who have individually sponsored others for permanent residency.
Most Oyibos are good people they help without thinking twice or looking for repayments. I am a testimony.

I just used the Documentary Evidence List to access myself on AL1 applicant but found out that things have changed since 31st of March 2017
The Document Checklist Tool has been updated.

If you intend to lodge a student visa application on or after 31March 2017, you are encouraged to re-check the document checklist based on your country of passport and education provider before lodgement. Your evidence requirements might have changed.

Prior to that date anyone could sponsor you. For example:

If your parents are old and have retired?

If your parents helped your sponsor when he was growing up and now he decided to help you in the name of payback?

If your sponsor sees you a lot of prospect in you and decided to invest in you?

If your sponsor is a philanthropist?

Not anyone can sponsor. The only acceptable sponsors are Your parents, spouse, sisters and brothers, uncle or aunt (PR or citizen of Oz or nz).

Even in the GTE forms or acceptance forms, most universities list the sponsor options there.

I know someone in australia who recently got his visa. His uncle in America sponsored him. If your are under AL1 its fine otherwise you will need those aforementioned to sponsor you.

My people. God bless you for all the information. please help us answer this Question ooo
Yes it adviceable not to have money lodgment but if you do, you can cover yourself by having your sponsor write a letter of sponsorship and that he has deposited some funds in your account for the purpose of your studies. Hopefully the money lodgement doesn't come from many different sources.

Yes anyone can sponsor you only if you have applied as an AL1 applicant.

The total balance in your account does not really matter thou you need to have a constant inflow and outflow of funds and a reasonable amount of money as a closing balance.

sorry to bother you but i have few questions to ask again.
so one who goes for diploma too will not be given a 2yrs graduate visa?the mba has not been giving yet. we are just looking for cheaper fees

No diploma is not inclusive. Sorry

Another is,how can one who has a bsc in public administration study bsc nursing since no background of sciences. does it mean writing another WAEC?

Don't inform them you already have a degree in public admin otherwise you may find it hard securing admission with the school. Just enrol as a freshman. And NO i dont think you need to rewrite a waec.

tbanks.

pls house, how much is needed for account statement/sponsors account and is it adviceable for one to go for MBA instead of diploma?

cc:westafrican,sanity100 and others pls
Make sure you dont have what they call money lodgment. Total balance doesn't really matter if you have constant inflow and out flow of funds.
Do not present a bank statement upon your visa lodgement until your case officer ask for one.

Is your mba for 2years? If no, it will be useless going for it as you may not be able to continue your stay in Australia after your course except you find a company to sponsor you.

Only degree courses above 2years are given a 2years graduate visa after completion. That also means you have to look for a job in your field of study and may be get the company to sponsor you for a work visa or you apply for your PR if you meet the immigration requirements.

I actually applied for diploma program and my age contributed to the reason my visa was refused, the docs I submitted were, bnk statement, coe,pte result, police character cert, personal statement, yellow card.now I want to apply for masters degree program.
Thats fine. Some people have been denied 3-4times on tourist visa but still got their student visa. Its all about packaging.
Write a good statement of purpose, ask your sponsor to write you a letter stating why he wants you to study a masters program. Do not include bank statement unless they request for it. Front load your medicals.
Make sure your masters program is related to your first degree.
Ask your present employer to write a letter saying your position is still intact when you return from your study, if possible ask for a new work offer letter with a higher position when you complete your study.
Include 1 or 2 recommendation letter (s).
Do not include your personal statement but rather 2- 3 of your pay slips plus first offer letter from the company.
Include every other documents you have mentioned above.

2.Must I use agent?
Its your choice if you choose to use an agent. Folks have gotten their visas here without the use of agent. If you think you are to busy or not in for the stress of paperwork you may choice to nominate an agent.

3.what are the documents needed to kick start processing
Ecoe
Insurance
Medicals
Biometric
Polio
Visa fees
Bank statement on standby incase you are required to submit one.

4 .Is it advisable for her to travel with our baby?
I think it will be on burden on her. She can't be in school or work with the baby, can she?
If she decided to keep the baby in daycare she may end up paying them all the monies she has made working. If you have plenty of money, she can come over with bubba and pay for day care on her lecture days

Best bet is for you to come over with bubba when you are ready to relocate.

5.Is too early to start the process…?
No it isn't. The ealier the better. Give embassy 2-3months for visa processing. In most cases you could be granted visa 1-2months before school commences but not allowed to work in australia before your enrollment.

@santity100 and @WestAfrica

Your post on trade works........

I will be moving to Australia very soon as a Fitter - Mechanical Fitter / Fitter Operator. I have HND in Mechanical Engineering and got assessed as Fitter General.

I want to inquire, if I want to be practicing Carpentry and Painting, do I need to get licensed or I can just be cutting jobs as I don't have certificate for these professions but I have the knowledge.
If you have good carpentry or painting skills you can register yourself with an agency or agencies so they can find you some casual jobs. You do not need a license but may need a white card to work on any construction site. License is required when you intend to start up your own business.

Secondly my spouse is into Fashion Designing (Dressmaker / Tailoring), she did One Year Certificate programme at one Fashion Designer outlet here in Nigeria and she has been practicing for over 4 years post Certificate Course and like 10 years in all. My question is, will they equate the local certificate programme to Certificate III as the outlet has no transcripts, syllabus or modules and so on. Though we submitted all available evidences to DIBP.
Honestly speaking I have smattering knowledge about fashion industry here. But I believe she will be able to find a job with some little firm here if she knows what she's doing. Or she may be able to gradually gather some African clients to sew for.

Lastly, is it legal to be doing her sewing at home as she intend buying a sewing machine for cutting jobs at home o. Hope that won't be an issue.
It isn't, but if she starts making plenty of money she may want to get an ABN (get her company registered)thou she has to start declaring her earnings but then it will help her in the future interns of getting loan from the banks.

Thanks!

Modified: What brands of car is advisable to go for. I have been looking out for a car with low mileage and good fuel economy on autotrader. Can I get a better one for AUD1200 - 1500 and what is the cost of rego. State is NSW.

Toyota, Subaru, infact all Japanese cars. With your budget of $1200-$1500 you will be looking at year 1999-2001 with high mileage. Now speaking of mileage, most cars here have high mileage due to distance to places so do not worry much about mileage if the previous own service their car regularly. I will advice you budget $4000-$5000 for car in that way you won't have to worry much about it breaking down fast.
Rego cost depends on car weight, year and stamp duty depends on the cost of purchase.

Did you include your polio and Yellow Fever ? If not do well to send it to them.

There is a form 1023 : notification to correct information. Download it, fill it, sign it and submit to them .

what do u think about driving? my cousin. A professional driver in Nigeria is thinking of migrating to ausee.
I doubt if you could migrate to Australia as a driver although there are heaps of jobs if you already have your PR. When you work for the govt as a driver you may be able to earn $25-30 excluding loading.
You will earn more when you drive trains or drive trailers in the mines.

No other way to say it better champ.

Maybe from next year, I doubt if anyone with 60 points and below will even be invited sef in some occupations. The competition is increasing as more people have more information.

Asians and Arabs especially chinese and indians are more aggressive than us and they have more tools and edge. Their motive is to extend their family business and have second nationality in a western world in order to have more business opportunities. They have dealt with UK and Canada in the past, now it is oz.

Most don't even pay first semester tuition fee to get student visa, they pay all 2 years fee once and most will even buy house when they land in oz to even increase chance of getting PR.

The classification of our bachelor's degree as associate degree is not helping our people to get maximum points from experience. Recently I sent email to the education dept responsible for the reasons for classifying just few 6 or 5 universities bachelor's degree as equivalent but unfortunately it will be like this for sometime.

The best is to encourage people to study more health related or skilled based courses in our technical schools instead of everyone study business administration, accounting etc. Apprenticeships and health related occupations will still always have edge irrespective of the competition for PR to Canada or Australia.

Tell your younger ones to study in our technical schools to become welder, electrician, carpenter, plumber, chef, masons, etc. They will be independent and reduce unemployment in our country and for years to come, they will always the opportunity of migrating to Canada or anywhere for PR.

I once encouraged folks here to go for trade courses. The demand is high and the pay is enormous.
Painting, plumbing, Carpentery, mechanic, name namethey all on skill select and on huge demand. Just a few days on the news they mentioned about Aussie not venturing into trades anymore.

A friend of mind called a plumber to his house. Call out fees is $100 and 10mins work was $700. He was just vexing for himself.

Tradesmen are well-off in Australia and are proud of what they do. Smart Carpenters and painters own 2-3houses here. Mechanic charged me $400 to replace a ball joint in my car. His quote was $100 per hour.

Most tradesmens in Australia have more money than bankers and accountants except you are on a high level.

Please help a sis

Different fees to different state. But should be ranging from $15-$25 per hour or $70-$200 per long day.

House: $150- $400 depends on location and bedrooms

Food: I guess you will be do more cooking. So budget $150-$200

Electricity and gas: are quarterly $ 150 & $100 respectively again depends on how much you use.

If you're driving. $50-70 on fuel weekly

Miscellaneous $50 - $100 weekly

Can get you a better deal on child care if you coming towards Newie

It is alright mate. The most important is we are able to pass information to help people achieve their travel aims.

There are hundred thousands of immigrant in that skill select and only the highest pointers will be invited until the budgeted invitees is reached. 60 points is just the standard.

There are many people that had 60 points and they were never invited from skill select to apply till their occupation was removed the list. Same faith awaits account related occupations

They have reduced all accountants, auditors and management related occupations and ict occupations this year and presently the number of people remaining to be invited will be limited, hence the competition.

That's why you see some people travelling to study in Australia to get more points and have options of regional sponsorship and independent etc.

Or after your positive assessment and having done the English exam, you can look for registered immigration agents to help you get employer sponsorship.

A couple months ago, somebody on this thread was shutting me down and questioning my knowledge on PR. It's good to see someone else buttress some of the points I commented herein earlier.

Hitting the 60points does not automatically qualify you for invitation. There are hundreds of thousands of Indians, Pakistani, Russians, Chinese who have same 60 points as you and edge you with wealth of experiences under their belts vying to be invited. Especially in the area of technology. Although studying in Australia may not necessarily give you an edge over someone with wealth of experience but will over someone without one and applying from external.

The immigration has quota of those to be invited each year just like with any type of visa. The quota increases or decreases according to demand.

The competition is higher when you apply via sol to csol. If your occupation is in state like Northern territory, Tasmania and South Australia, you have better chances to be invited by those States as long as you are willing to live there for 2 two years before moving on.

Don't forget there a thousands of students in Australia paying $40-65k to study with the aim of getting a PR afterwards. They have invested in Australia and will be given preference over someone from overseas without experience vying for same position.

Having said that, there is no harm giving it a go as everyone's luck differs.
