SantaClause: Hahah you guys are really funny...I used it 2015 and yes boss I was granted visa and yes boss I am not in west Africa anymore. That is only when you are applying for tafe or colleges. Your uncle or anty can sponsor you if you are applying for a degree program as long as you are able to back up your claim. Sorry am quoting @kingbukaz when did you use this? And was the grant issued? Cuz I strongl doubt if they still honour such. From the thread, your uncle without the same surname has to be an Aussie PR holder or citizen. Oga WestAfrica over to you |

Look with your 1.5 million you will have to search for a school yourself using the link I have provided. Am not sure what tafe or colleges charge you do have to research yourself and work it out with you budget. |

EmmySparky: Pls guys am new here...i would like to know the list of cheapest schools that allows payment per semester ...i am preparing to apply for a vocational / trade course to get a certificate and obtain my stay gods willing since i cant afford to run my msc there due to funds...ur answers would be appreciated Most schools accept tuition fees on semester or trimester bases but then you have to pay your deposit up-front. You won't be able to obtain a PR via tafe or vocational training, you do need at least a 2 years degree to be eligible. That being said this link can be useful for your school search http://cricos.education.gov.au/If your first degree is in the sol or csol list you may want to give it a go. |

go4value: Please the gurus in the house... My wife studied Industrial chemistry,I want her to study Nursing in Australia, with plan of getting pR, is anybody in QUt doing the same course,? How do we go about it, am looking at 2018 as she is presently pregnant. Secondly which option will be the best for her, was thinking of graduate nursing but someone was advising her to go for Nursing that way PR will not be an issue.
Did she get to study physiology and anatomy in her first degree? Most schools will require her to have a background in physiology and anatomy before she can be admitted. In some cases she may be required to do those course separately before her main course commences.
Click on this URL and search for graduate nursing or nursing courses to see the difference in tuition.
If I were you, I would also consider finding a job after my course. Will employers give more preference to someone who studies a degree in nursing or someone who has a graduate degree without an actual nursing background?
Do your research on that and make an informed decision.
What is the average cost of both options, Note we will joining her later with the kids @bellong @westafrican any help or contact will be appreciated. We want to start in time
To get a rough estimate, get the tuition fees and add it to the cost of rent ($130- $250 a week depending on where she will be leaving) plus $150-$200 for food and transportation per week plus miscellaneous (air ticket, visa fees and medicals) |

chopgarri: Hi WestAfrican, I am an international student studying in Australia. I am in a TAFE and my visa is expiring soon. I would like to know with the new visa 500 if I can use my maternal uncle with a different surname to lodge a visa extension? I will be 6 months gone in my new course before I am due for extension (started my new course in November 2016 and my visa is expiring in June 2017) my COE and offer letter from my school has until January 2019 to finish my current course. please house I need your input cos time is running out and I don't know what to do. Thanks so much. Yes your uncle could sponsor you. Ask him to indicate his relationship with you in his letter of sponsorship. Did the immigration inform you about writing an ielts? I know a few people who were asked to write one. If your previous ielts is still current you may be able to present it or if you did an elicos before your tafe it could be used too. If I were you, I would include all documents upon my application I.e. offer letter, bank statement, medicals, insurance (for the whole duration of your course) then submit 1 to two weeks before my current visa expires and hope not to be asked for ielts. NB) also submit your tafe transcript if you had completed one. |

Kaylawesteros: Thank plenty. Please does the 3 months consecutive holding of deposit in an account still applies? cos i cant find it on the Documentary evidence of financial capacity page It's case by case basis. If you can explain in a simple letter how you got the money as a fixed deposit I don't think it will matter if it's only been there for a few weeks. Again your other bank statement will help buttress your claim. |

I just got paid today and I intend to deposit d money in my personal bank acct (d one I would present at the embassy) can I deposit the money n still print my statement tmrw? It will be nice to present your salary bank account so they know you are employed. You can also choose to transfer money from your salary bank account into your personal bank account but make sure you present the two bank statements as evidence. Also include documents as ID, employment offer letter, payslipsKaylawesteros: Hello house, Ive been an avid reader of this thread for a while and at this point i need professional advice. i intend to use Fixed deposit for my student visa application, pls do i apply at the start of this fixed deposit or i wait till its matured before i apply.
Please help a sis. You need to ask yourself when does my school commence? And when does my fixed deposit mature? If your fixed deposit is the only statement you will be presenting to the embassy and your maturity date is far from your school commencement date. If you are applying for undergraduate degree or master you may not need to present a bank statement when applying until you are asked to do so. |

favouredme: Flinders university has a graduate entry option for non social work gradautes. I.e you can gain a Masters qualification in social Work even if your BSc isn’t related to social work http://www.flinders.edu.au/courses/rules/postgrad/msw/
graduates of courses listed here are eligible to for membership with Ausstrlian association of social workers https://www.aasw.asn.au/careers-study/accredited-courses
a word of advise, always read the course information properly, check accreditation status and if it confers eligibility to register with the respective professional body,e.g there are some Master of nursing courses offered to international students which don’t confer eligibility to practice as a nurse in ~Australia. Same goes for teaching, for Masters level students, if you’re aiming to register with the Teaching professional organisation in Australia, then you should enrol on the master / post grad diploma of teaching and not EDUCATION @misshillz @onyeji20 Favouredme has shared a link to Flinders university. They do not require you to have an undergraduate degree in social work inorder to gain admission into master's in social work. Cheers. |

Very much helpful https://www.nairaland.com/westafrican PFL agents are coming in to port harcourt March 6th I intend to be at the venue My question is, can HND be admitted for masters directly or I have to enroll for graduate diploma first? If you are applying to study in UK I would say yes cos they introduced that system in Nigeria. Unfortunately, Australian system is different from that of UK sotherefore you may want to write your school in Australia to see if they recognize it for admission into master's program. I think HND is equivalent to 2 years of Bsc. Stand to be corrected. |

All medical examination is valid for 12months. If you choose to apply for PR before your Medicals expire, it will be ideal to do a chest x-ray and HIV. Reason is because it is way expensive in Australia. But you have to be sure you do be using it before it expires in 12 months. |

MissHillz: Hello good people! Been reading through this thread since I got introduced to it last week and I deeply appreciate all the infos i've gathered so far.
Pls I have a couple of questions... I plan to travel to Aussie for studies in July but I'm yet to start processing my admission; I'm looking to change the name on my Int'l passport to include my hubby's own so he can be granted spousal visa. Can I apply for the admission with my current passport and then notify the school when the new one is ready so it can be updated and used in the COE? I was told the new passport will take about 6-8weeks to be ready.
Yes you can apply for the for admission with your old passport. Remember to include your partner's name on the list of people who will be traveling with you, then inform them when your new passport comes out so they can reissue you a new ecoe.
Secondly, is it true UNSW doesn't grant Masters of Social Works to Int'l students? I got my first degree (3.33GPA) from Uniben in Int'l Studies & Diplomacy. I'm interested in AL1 schools in Sydney (Social Works or International Law)
I doubt they won't be enrolling international students for master of counselling social work. If you have your first degree in international studies and diplomacy, what is the correlationship with social work? I think you would have to have studies a degree in social work to gain admission in master' of social work. Look for a course related to your first degree or go for an undergraduate degree in social work.
Pls kindly help a sis out. Cc @WESTAFRICAN |

Please I will appreciate your urgent response as I was hoping to submit my application before next week. Thank you Payslips will further buttress your claim of working with the company. Please your urgent answer will be appreciated Seminar or conference is classified as business. So you would need to apply for a business visa. Your company need not provide bank statement although you need to provide your own personal statement plus supporting documents from company I.e. letter stating they are sending you on conference and what days you would be staying for, your employment contract, couple of payslips, Id card, itinerary for flight and hotel. Stanleyelege: Thanks West Africa.
I just received my coE today. Before I continue, I say thanks and God bless you.
Pls Can I go on with my visa application.
However my genuine intention is to get the visa and maybe defer when it comes out. I just want to get the visa just like a small boy who have just gotten a new school bag on Saturday and can't wait for Monday to storm school with his new sch bag. (u know d kid wil cry if he learns that d school has extended resumption date)
Honestly my friends there advised I defer but fear of what might happen with visa policy is scaring me. This is the first time I'm getting a CoE after paying to 2 schools before who kept insisting I produce a statement of account. Now I ve d money lodged in my account and I know the good Samaritan who helped me won't agree to leave his money for too long in my account. Should I continue with the visa and defer when it's out?
In the absence of West Africa, any available person should kindly advice.
Rgds Off course you can defer after your visa is out. Thou you need to inform your school your reason for deferring which your school will in turn convey to the immigration when renewing your visa. The question now is - where would you be during your deferment? Nigeria or Australia? If you choose to be in Australia, do not hurriedly forget you will have an automatic no-work condition on your visa since you are yet to commence lectures. Not abiding to that condition may lead to the cancellation of your visa and the risk of being deported (at least na Wetin them talk for their website)
Another issue disturbing deferring is this new visa renewal requirements, were you will be requested to write an ielts and present a bank statement for your visa to be granted. If your mates in Australia have been able to beat the system and they are sure to assist you then go for it. |

mctowel01: Bro, you made sense, but you spoilt it with the word "kindness". Honestly, there is no kindness in his offer, he is simply bargaining or exploiting as much as he can from the market and there is no problem with it if you look at it from the business standpoint... "Its a choice..You either agree or you walk off" . However, the underlying misunderstanding is that this thread has a foundation of being regardful and sensitive to the situation of our fellow members, thats the spirit that has grown this thread, hence such bargain will reek of insensitivity and to some extent, selfishness. Nonetheless, it ultimately remains a choice and no coercion to agree to the offer or not. Its a free world. . Peace bro!. His own way of showing kindness* |

Pls is it possible to atleast apply for visa and later defer when d visa is out. This is d 4th time I am having similar issue . Schools will just be delaying me unnecessarily and my ielts expires in April If you are able to settle your ecoe before your resumption date you can apply. Just make sure you include all the necessary documents and front load your medicals. In the event your case officer isn't apply to process your application after 2-3weeks of resumption, you will be advised by them to defer. That will mean your application will be placed on hold until a few weeks before the next in take. You just need to hassle your school. You have limited time. |

There is no point crying foul. An offer is an offer if you don't want it just bone and move on.
There are heaps of people here who have paid their fees through banks etc but school is yet to recive their payments and they are palpitating - running outta time and patience.
I remember when sending money via Western Union when they give low rate and high commission of $50 per transaction. Not until someone introduced me to world remit and now cash remit. Will I ever go back to Western Union? NO, infact NEVER. But I had to use them initially cos I had no choice.
Look N380 to AU$ is on a high side but since it's the only choice we may have we could either use diplomacy to bag a bargain with him or ignore his offer and leave all in God's hands rather than rendering abuses on someone's way of showing kindness.

Stanleyelege: Hello House.
Pls advice. I paid my tuition deposit to Rmit via telegraph transfer Cus I had available us dollars but since 9th of Feb til now, Rmit said they haven't gotten my payment that as soon as my payment is cleared I I'll be issued with my coe. I have contacted Gtbank and they have initiated a tracer which proved funds were delivered.
I am to resume on the 28th of Feb and I haven't gotten coe not to talk of visa application.
Does it really take that long to confirm payment? Your resumption date is very close and you're yet to confirm deposit with your school not to talk more about applying for a visa. Your best bet would be to defer your admission with school while you settle your payment problem. Show the school the tracer result from GTBank and see what they say. If no positive response, ask GTBank to recall your money and try with a different financial institute. |
