Depends on how many courses you register per semester/trimester. You may be able to work 5 days a week inclusive of weekends. With 8hrs /$30^hr of work a week you may be able to earn 900-1000 after tax 3} Can Mr. A wife accompany him to Aussie and also what are her chances of working, if she successfully accompany him? Mr A can bring his family as dependants on his visa. He must be able to prove to the immigration he has sufficient funds for the whole family. Mr A's partner would be able to work unlimited hours as long as they have current visas. |

omokay80:Its a bit early to grant your visa as you still have plenty of time before resumption date. You cannot work on your student visa until you commence your studies. Usually student visas are granted 3-4months before resumption day. |

In the meanwhile, go and write pte or ielts, before your case officer request for another ielts (that's if he/she does) then your ielts/pte result must have come out. Worse case scenario would be that your case officer may advice you to defer your admission for the next intake. |

chimax1:Been to Federation Uni in Ballarat, beautiful but not that huge compare to other unis i.e. Unsw and UON. Well its roughly about 1.5hrs away from Melbourne. Met a few Nigerian students then who live in Melbourne while studying in Ballarat. I think it could be considered a regional area you have to cross check on that. If it is, you can get a 5 points on your PR csol application after graduation. N5.5m is roughly AUS17k (+/-). Am not sure what the deposit for that school is but lets say it is $10k then you are left with $7k. Usually the oshc and some of your first term tuition fees are included in your ecoe. Assuming your tuition fees is $60k for two years (not sure what course you have applied for). Anyhow, you do need a sponsor to proof they have sufficient fund to cover some of your tuition fees plus living expenses in Australia. Some people here have claimed not to imclude a bank statement in there application. You may want to verify that and follow suit but then you need to have your SOA ready incase your CO request for it. mykel25:Yes that are expensive to live in but you have greater opportunities in those big cities too. Some ppl live in Sydney and study in Newcastle / Wollongong Unis. Since they are 2hrs and 1:30hrs respectively by car. There is no much difference in tuition fees accross Unis in Australia. Accommodation are different due to job opportunities. You will earn 5 points on PR application via csol if you study in a regional area. Northern Territory, Tasmania are considered regional areas but finding jobs in those areas may prove difficult. If I was in your situation, I do find a school in Newcastle or Wollongong, live in Sydney then shuttle to school for lectures as lectures are once or twice a week depending on the courses you have chosen for the semester / trimester. |
mykel25:Some schools ask for deposit of $6-$12k Aus before your ecoe can be sent to you. For instance, if your school has requested you pay $6k as initial deposit you may want to ask yourself; is my 3m able to pay for my visa application fees, school deposit, flight ticket, accommodation for a month, feeding, and may be transport before you are able to settle in proper. Its not that easy settling in a foreign land unless you have someone to guide you. You may be fortunate to find a job immediately you arrive Aus. What if it doesn't happen? Whats your Plan B? Like I ealier said, you should be able to pay up your tuition from the money you earn as long as you are hard working. Mind you marrying school and work isn't all that easy can be stressful atimes. The trick is; work hard, play less, save more, pay your fees, graduate, find a job, apply for PR and ENJOY THE FRUIT OF YOUR LABOUR. NB) If you intend to study below 2 years in Australia you stand NO CHANCE of remaining in Australia after your studies unkess you have the required points to straight away apply for your PR. |

mykel25:With your 20000CAD you are good to go. Fees for 1-2yrs study is btw 25k-62kAUD pending on your course. Accommodation could be anywhere $120-250 a week which also depends on location. You could budget around $120-200 on food and $50 on fuel if you drive. (Estimated figures) Australian gov. is aware most people bridge their working visa condition but they careless because employers need workers. They only care more when you tend not to attend school and maybe work cash in hand. In such cases you will be given a notification to give a compelling and compassionate reasons for your visa not to be cancelled. If you are hard working and focused you could earn at least $1000 a week after tax. |

You accused me of giving false information and showing off (surprised). I told you of two people I personally know who earn above $2k a week after tax. Is that example not sufficient? You can work for companies or oragnizations here as a casual worker and still be paid more than a permanent staff. Same applies to those who work for agencies too. If you know an organization that pays 150k/yr find out from a casual work from that same company if they don't get $40-$70k as extra loading. davodyguy Try to stick with the food your system is used to. Reasons are you will save your self health and money. Western food should be eaten as a treat. There are heaps of Asian cum African shops in Sydney and Newie. All you need is a large deep freezer, microwave (gas/electric stove) and few food containers. Cook your food in a large pot, plate your meal portion into those containers and store them in the freezer. Then use when necessary. You really don't need those tips if your are sponsored or earn above $2k weekly after tax. I assure you you do need them if you are paying your tuition fees and may be looking after family back home.
