muyiwaakeredolu:The answer is YES and NO. Yes for students who's English isn't their mother tongue. You may want to try this and then come tell us what the outcome was. If you're pursuing a Master's program, and have an outstanding English result on your WAEC or NECO etc. Highlight your English score, ask for a letter from your UNI faculty stating English was the medium of learning. Also include two recommendation letters from your lectures and a short direct cum concise note saying why IELTS should be waived for you. The issue here is that you won't score high if you wrote IELTS rather it's just annoying that Nigerians have to write this silly exam considering the fact English is our official language. It worked for me and other mates I shared the idea with. Although you will definitely need it if you're seeking for PR. |

Dearbest: The simple answer is YES. It's doable. A lot of us went through that path. The other truth is that it isn't easy as either school or work has to suffer interchangeable. The key words like you mentioned is hardwork, perseverance. You also need to be focused while keeping a simple eye. Am not sure of the duration of your program or what degree you will be pursuing. This is an insight to what a program would cost in Australia: Study costs in Australia Education program Average tuition costs ($AUD) Foundation courses $15,000 to $39,000 in total** Undergraduate bachelor degreee $15,000 to $33,000 per year* Postgraduate masters degree $20,000 to $37,000 per year* Doctoral degree $14,000 to $37,000 per year* If yours was a bachelor degree, that's where the stress is enormous. You would have to be able to work at least 8hrs a day, 16hrs on weekends and probably as much as you can during your school holidays. Moreso, the good thing in Australia is that you can take study leave although you need to notify your UNI to get a leave of absence, that is when you need to work hard to gather enough money for the coming semester/trimester. 1 Like |

Justasking:Those documents are required for visa processing. You can try again yourself knowing Australia is different from Canada or you get a registered immigration lawyer to do it for you. |

pitman10: 3-6 months would do. Don't print out Jan - July and then submit in October. It has to be close to when you will be lodging your application. |

Justasking: Is it hard to get a study leave from your employer? Letter of work offer after you complete your studies? Tax clearance and payslips from your current job? Do you have any landed properties etc? Sponsorship letter from your Dad? WILL which shows part of your inheritance? If you are unsure, best you use a MARA lawyer. |

Justasking: Hope it wasn't on grounds of bogus documents. If not, it's best to tell them the actual reason you were denied a visa to Canada. Also make sure your circumstances for the visa denial has changed otherwise it could affect your acceptance. |

Oscorpy: Thanks for pointing that out. Again they don't really expect you to have that $60k in your account, it's just an estimate of your expenses. Inflow and outflow of cash is important. |

[quote author=Arthur0814 post=82729410]Good day @westafrican. I recently got my coe to study at Australian institute of music in sydney and I studied music and creative arts for my bachelors degree here in Nigeria. I’ve been on my visa application and I just want to ask a few questions 1. If I’m using my dads corporate account for financial evidence, do i need to provide sponsorship letter? Yes it's recommended you provide your sponsorship letter when lodging your visa application. 2. Is 15m naira okay to show for financial evidence? N15m is around $AUS 23k. Immigration do look at the inflow and outflow of monies in your account. As a businessman they don't expect to see big sum of money in your account all the time knowing a business opportunity may arise and you do need the money to pursue it. What they look is how frequent money comes into your account and what they are spent on. It doesn't matter if you have $10k as at when your lodge your visa application. Having a huge one time deposit of money can be considered as money lodgement and will trigger an alarm. If I were you, I will apply without a BS but in the meanwhile, have the statement on the side incase my case officer request for it. What most people doesn't know is that AL1 (Streamline) applicants do not need to submit BS. You get ask BS when your CO isn't convinced you are a genuine entrant. On the other hand, if you have sufficient funds in your sponsors account you may also want to submit your BS just to prevent a longer processing time. The decision is all yours. 2 Likes |

emenik08:Yes it is allowed. Get a commercial one thou. Like one bought from ShopRite or with label. Also make sure it's in your check in luggage as airport security will not allow you take it on the plane. Do not forget to declare on your passenger card as it can attract $240+ in fine. Fresh food or nuts won't be allowed into Australia even thou you have declared them. Most other foods will be allowed if they are commercially packaged. 2 Likes |

Addenn: Weigh all the pros and cons with for example studying Public health in Melbourne and 1yr program + Social Works in Tassie. See if other Unis can waive the 1yr program while offering you MSc in Social Works. If you decide to stick with the options you have in hand, you prefer to relocate to regional area after study in search for state sponsorship or do the extra 1yr and be reassured to get your PR at the end of your study? I guess school will provide you with ecoe to cover your entire study duration and immigration is usually aware of that. So it's shouldn't affect your visa processing time. It's just the extra $$$ you have to pay for that 1yr program. |

Addenn: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list The link above will give you an insight on courses that are on the SOL. See if Public Health or Biology Education correlate with any occupation on the list. I know Social Work is always constant on the SOL. There are other factors you need to put into consideration when choosing a school: Location, job, living expenese, PR points etc. You will easily score points for studying Social works in Tassie and probably get a state sponsorship but the question is how easy is it to find a job to offset your daily expenses? Studying Public Health in Monash Vic sounds good in-terms of living in a big city, finding jobs, enjoying nightlife etc. but how about the living expenses and securing PR after your studies? For easy visa processing and PR in mind, Tassie will be the way to go. You just have to do more research on jobs. Transferring between Unis isn't easy these days but its an option to keep in mind. You may also want to check this links on how to become a teacher in Australia as a foreigner: https://m.wikihow.com/Become-a-Teacher-in-Australia https://pathwaytoaus.com/blog/working-teacher-australia/ https://www.teach.nsw.edu.au/find-teaching-jobs/overseas-trained-teachers This is something you can consider doing after arriving in Australia. Although you may have difficulty since you have no teaching experience under your belt. One way to counteract this would be picking up some voluntary jobs. Do more research on this. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

[quote author=Kennyubah post=81732311]Hey guys Please I wanna ask Can a Bsc student work and study in Australia Yes I heard they only allow post graduate students work for 20hours. Yes, 40hrs for the student and 40hrs for dependent (partner/spouse) per fortnight respectively. You are also entitled to unrestricted hours when your program is not in session. Having said that, majority of students and their dependents over work their hours. It becomes a problem when you take several absent of leaves, don not enrol for semester/trimester without the consent of Uni, do not pay tuition fees and are reported to immigration, leave the country when school is in session or being flagged for whatever reason. People over work their hours and the immigration is awear but seldom interfere. /quote] |

sophieora: Whats the duration of his course? How long much does he have to complete his study? Has he always enrolled for studies or taken absence of leave? Processing times are dependent on a number of different factors including: Whether you have provided all necessary supporting documents when you lodge an application How well and how promptly you respond to requests for additional information How long it takes to complete any required checks on information you have provided to support your application How long it takes to receive additional information from areas outside the department - particularly in relation to health, character and national security. How many places are available in the Migration Programme. A decision to grant or refuse your visa application may be made based on the information and documentation that you provide at the time of lodgement. Answers to those questions will determine how long it may take to process your application. If you have all the documents / requirements for school and immigration respectively and are willing to throw away $$$ on student fees then you are good to go. |

Paulson91: It is important you tell them what countries has denied you visa and for what reasons. If you are unsure, ask your agent. Most countries will deny you visa base on finance or tie back home. Make sure those reasons has been addressed before lodging your visa application. That's what I will although you may decide to go the other way. |

Paulson91: Simple answer is YES. Biometrics is important as the immigration need to know who enters the country. It also helps the Police or intelligent unit to travel a foreigner who commits a crime. |
