Boss, am haviving similar ish. I lready have ann offer letter. he school requested to see financial statement b4 they can issue the CoE. My uncle (sponsor) has a different surname as mine. Can I use his bank statement? If yes, what documents do we need to attach to his statement as support / proof? Can Affidavit help?

Can I do dis for d embassy aswell?
Am not sure if the tafe or college you have applied are strict on seeing just your parents or spouse soa. But am pretty sure embassy would want to see your parent(s) or spouse as your sponsor. You can prentend not knowing by furnishing your school with your uncles statement of account and hope for the best.

Please house gurus, I was issued an offer of admission by a collgege in Australia, to run a dual packaged course. The school request I submit a financial statement along side other docs including the invoice of payment before they issue me the CoE.
My question:

1. My sposor is my uncle from my maternal side, hence we do not use same surname. Can I present my uncle's bank statement?
What if he writes me a cover letter stating his commitment to sponsor me, and get a court affidavit to prove our relationship? Will the school and embassy accept that ?
What is the dual packaged course? Diploma and Bachelor?

Any program below degree and masters, your sponsor must be your parents or spouse.

Hope others can follw that link to find what documents they need to submit.

Very Urgent!

Please house. I want to use my Sister as Sponsor. However, she's married and no longer bears our family name. Can you please tell me what documentation i will need to present alongside my application. Also, can i use her fixed deposit account or do i need to have her make the funding available?

Please help!

HELP!!!!!
If you are going for a degree program you don't have to submit a soa until you are asked to by your case officer. And YES she can sponsor you. She can give you her birth certificate along side her change of name documents or affidavit.

Yes, it use to be on the sol list but was removed this year July. It is should be on the csol now. I am meaning to improvise as a petroleum Engineer due to this fall in oil price, to breaking into constructuin/project management which i can use to rebound when the oil price improves hence my interest in construction/project management...
P. ENGINEERING may return back. Sometimes when the quota is full the course is removed and later returns.

For now, you may want to apply for a student visa pending when your course comes back on sol or carry on into a different pr route.

WestAfrican, thank you ooo, you are really helping us alot. Now to this; what do you think for me as a petroleum Engineer now coming to run a post graduate diploma in construction/project management one of the courses prsenyly on sol for one year as a more easier n cheaper means, then settlling in for my PR?
I think Petroleum Engineering is on SOL list. If you dont meet up with the 60 point mark means you have no choice than to come over as a student and carry on from there.

Does someone on a student visa intending to process PR while studying needs a police clearance certificate?
Police clearance is needed for PR, Spouse visas etc but not student visa thou it does help if you have one.

Get a police report for all countries tou have lived in the last 10years including Australia.

WestAfrican, thank you for your response. I would need clarification on coming for a professional course. Do you mean moving to Oz for the course before applying for assessment as an Engineer and then have some extra point to earn?

Also will it be possible to apply for a one year post graduate diploma in construction management and then then file for my assessment as Engineer while in Oz, to obtain a PR before the end of my Program? Which i think wld be a little cheaper and easier than masters for now. Then later i can go for my masters.
Not sure if you could do those profesional courses online, that you have to research. If you cant do it online, mayb you have to get here for your master do the professional course and then apply for your pr.

Yes its possible to apply for any other visa while you are on a student visa here.

Sometimes the government puts a NO FURTHER STAY on student who are sponsored by their government or companies. So theh don't get to stay or apply for anh other visas after their studies. I know it doesn't affect you just for information sake.

thank you so much @westAfrica ,
1. I'm applying for masters , my uncle is from my paternal side ,he has birth certificate ,but he doesn't have change of name, did his birth certificate at a court and its a different surname

Well you don't need a bank statement for a degree program. That doesn't mean your case officer doesn't have the right to request for one. Hence, your dad and uncle can be your sponsor. Your need sponsorship letters and maybe birth and change of name certificate to show your relationship with them. Try certifying all your documents.

2. I'm enquiring on his behalf ,the agents are charging outrageous amounts, he wants to do it himself and I'll be guiding him, we have all documents required for admission application, notarized O levels n English test and others, please guide me through a list of steps to follow
Submit all the documents his school / tafe requires. After admission you can return here for further assistance. Those who got here via tafe can chip in too.

please I want to use my uncle and dad as my sponsors, they
dont share same surname? what documents would i use to
show their ties or relationship? or would i be granted visa just showing their both account statements,my uncle wants to send a huge amount to my dads, and im trying to avoid the money lodgement thing, someone should help me, as I already have admission at curtin.
2. also i have a cousin who wants to apply for TAFE, would you advice he goes through agents or do it himself? please those who applied for TAFE how did you go about it
Are you applyig for undergraduate or masters program?
Is your uncle from your maternal or paternal side? Do he have birth certificate or change of name affidavit to show his relationship with one of your parents?

Your cousin can decide to come get some information here if he is willing to do it himself, he may also chose to use an agent if he has money to pay them. The requirements for Tafe is tedious though since its under AL3.

Good day everyone. Thanks to those who are contributing heartily on this thread. You guys will not lack help where you may also need it.

Cc: WestAfrican, Bellong et all. You all are kind.

Please, i have few doubts to resolve about migrating to OZ and i believe to get good answers on here. I am a Petroleum Engineering graduate, finished service in Nov 2012. I have not really worked in my area of training post graduation as a Petroleum Engineer, since i could not find any job. So i resulted to enterprising (Self employed). Seeking for contracts of all kind to execute and earn from it, though with no registered coy. so no tax clearance or whatever government document for my hustle.

Now, I want to move to OZ and possibly get my PR, most likely by vocational or masters course in construction project management as an area of interest and one of the top skills on the SOL to develop myself more in that focus with some kind of OZ training. And while at it in OZ, I would start my skilled migration application for assessment as a Petroleum Engineer before my vocational or masters program will end to get my PR and remain in OZ.

The second option for me is to file an application for assessment as a Petroleum Engineer here in Nigeria, though with no post graduate work history but with IT and final year project for the CDR as such and apply for PR, which seems to take longer to process. Also when granted a PR, it is most likely to also seek a vocation in construction/project management to suit in one of the skills on SOL, different from my Petroleum Engineering training.

So people please, i ask for your guide based on the available options of mine to move to OZ.

Thank you all for your anticipated input.
You basically need around 60 point to qualify

+ If your age is btw 25-32years you score 30 point

+ If you are able to score 8 and above in all band (ielts) you get 20 point.

+ Zero point for no work experience like you mentioned

+ Your Bachelor degree will fetch you 10 point.

If you are traveling with your partner and they meet up with the skilled migration visa requirements, you get an extra 5 point. Or if you do a professional course here in australia you can get extra 5 point.

So look into the points and see if you can achieve them otherwise you can come in as a student and become a slave or trapped into paying the huge tuition fees. The choice is yours.

Since then I avnt heard anytin from them. My Visa isn't out yet. I jst wana knw. How long does it take to get out.....does it take this long...?? I read on their page that it takes a Month. Its been over a Month already. Notin yet. Can sum1 explain pls...Thank you.
When does your uni commence? Australian government has quota on how much people can come into the country in a certain time. If that quota is full means you have to exercise patience until the window opens again. Writing them to make a decision on your application could lead to a denial.

It could also be that your case officer is yet to review your application, thats is why it's vital to submit all neccessary documents to avoid been delayed.

Here's the image: 'at the point of entering the details of the card before submitting to pay'.
I'm sure if you see this image, you will have a better understanding of what I want to use it for and then tell if it is possible or not with TRAVEL CARD
First of all your school is suppose to organize OSHC for new students and you can do the subsequent ones.
Secondly, if your card has (debit master / visa) means every merchant online or efpos machines should accept it so long as you have sufficient fund in it.
Sometimes there are default limit on amount that could be spend in a transaction or day, you need to double check with whoever is providing you with your debit card what restrictions are in place.
Thirdly if you still decide to purchase your OSHC on your own, you could save more by purchasing from NIB (www.nib.com.au).
All the best.

Please can you advise how I can make this payment to Australia. NOT 'FORM A' this time. The options they gave are 1) dollar card ie master or visa card and 2) PAYPAL. I neither have a domiciliary account nor a dollar card and I dont want to do black market because the rates are so high. I want to do it using bank's rate and its quite urgent. Although Ive spoken with a bank and they said what they can give me is a TRAVEL CARD to use. Is dollar card same as TRAVEL CARD? can TRAVEL CARD be used to pay for OSHC? I want to be very sure so I will not waste my money or get into trouble. This is urgent. A quick response will be highly appreciated. Thanks
Travel money card should do the trick. Just make sure Australian Dollar is among the currency you could spend and that there is no limit on how much can be withdrawn per transaction.

You don't have to worry if school has not requested for ielts or any English test.

Upload all the required documents as requested from your school and hope you get the accepted before the end of Dec then throw in all you documents for visa processing. Front load your medicals and other vital documents to avoid any delays.

But note you can't apply with this route and get PR you know why?Because you need lot of documents to show that you guys are real partners like house rent, you must leave together, own properties with the same name (car) just Google Partner visa (subclasses 820 and 801 ) to know more and also it takes 2years
Yes you can apply via that route. If you arrive australia on a visitors or student visa and apply for a spouse visa you automatically get a bridging visa which allows you to stay legal in australia until a decision is made on your spouse visa.
Not having those documents doesnt mean you cant apply for a spouse visa nor is it a criteria for visa denial. That is why it take two years for a decisio is make. Within that time frame you can provide the immigration with some documents like house rental history or utility bills with your partner. Photos together and attending events together will help to. You dont necessarily need to own property/ dwelling together.

Gone are the days when Africa should apologise for having problems – what country doesn’t? There obviously needs to be a more balanced approach and a shift away from the “crime & poverty porn” so regularly dished out on global media. But at the same time Africans should have the confidence to own both the good and bad stories. Being a Proud African is someone who celebrates both the highs and the lows. It’s not so black and white. I want u to understand that A homecomer brings back not only a wealth of global expertise, but also a true sense of purpose and willingness to make a difference. Homecoming Revolution’s clients are showcasing careers across all sectors: financial services, engineering & construction, IT, management consulting, retail, travel & tourism, agriculture, law, media & marketing, education & healthcare.

So finding a job back home shouldn’t be the sole ambition of a homecomer.

Yet it’s not so easy simply to come home and open a business. Apart from the red tape, there is also a gap between the homecomer’s previous understanding of the local community and what it is today.Below is our strenght and weakness

NIGERIA
Strengths: Welcoming people, 60m people who need products & services, Huge opportunities for business, Vibrancy of the youth, Cash economy,
Weaknesses: Unnecessary complications, Traffic, Electricity, Things take a long time, Absence of social institutions, Narrow thinking
But i can't deny Nigeria Need a lot of work to be put in place but we are not that bad as u are thinking .
“It’s important to acknowledge the emotional reasons of why people left NIGERIA –I am a real Estate Manager And i am not only promoting my Job but also reaching out to Africans in Diaspora to Invest back home , Home is where You Belong ...Even If u Migrate we still need to make Africa Great Again and with u and me We can make it Great again .
Off course Africa or rather Nigeria is rich fertile and untape. I still doesn't suit my area of investment.

With all the resources listed below:

http://www.youthdevelopment.gov.ng/index.php/nigeria/2013-12-19-03-40-31/natural-resources

Gold, Lead/Zinc, Limestone, Oil/Gas & Salt, Cassiterite, Clay, Dolomite, Marble & Tantalite, Uranium, COAL, OIL. The list goes on and on. Why should we lack power if we have uranium? Why is oil price high in a country that produces crude oil? Why is our roads bad or poorly built if we have coal? - is it because of Corruption?

I am not here to discourage anyone from investing in Nigeria, there are small businesses that can be done to help onesself and family. It's not the right time for me to invest in property market. When things are in place I will.

I will also not comment on this top again. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

There's no place like home!! Period!! Stay as long as u like in any foreign country,at the end of the day,the motherland keeps calling and requesting our presence!! We all need to start heeding the call and quit hiding behind the false security of "Being abroad"!! Most folks at home are making it and are not intimidated or threatened by their folks in the diaspora. The tables are turning, and the sooner we secure our place at home, the better. "Being abroad" is not the end all,be all!! Certain folks at home who've never ventured outside the country are thriving, surviving and well established.

If the people in whose country we all stay didn’t work hard to take their countries to greater height you won’t be there now! Nothing good comes easy. outsiders come to Nigeria to invest and they are making it,while the land owners are there in another man’s land struggling! Just have it in mind that a home you did not Arrange can never be yours.”
If i find peace and tranquillity in a foreign land I am happy. The country I reside in has helped me and I payback via taxes.
You are soliciting for Nigerians in diaspora to return home and invest forgetting that those who built America, UK, Canada etc were not Americans in diaspora or Canadians in diaspora etc but rather those in the country.

The government assisted those with dreams to actualize it in reality. Unlike Nigeria were dreams die.

Look I cannot begin to educate you on what I am very sure you know well about. I know you are here to benefit yourself by selling your property / dwellings. There are better ways to approach it instead of pointing fingers at a group and undermining them just because they have not patronize you.

Our government has a lot to do in order to attract foreign investors. Those basic amenities should be put in place and see how investors will fight to enter the Nigerian market. The government need to scout for Nigerians who are professionals in what they do, entice them with offers they will say no to and when they return they can use thier expertise to develop and grow the economy.

In Australia, you need to register your intention of marriage with a Marriage-Celebrant for at least 30days before you can proceed with any form of marriage. So if u register on 1st of Dec. It is possible to get married on 31st of Dec.

I don't think all this schools require Soa .cos admission takes time ( 4 -6weeks ) , cos the schools ,scrutinize the documents sir .so they are low risk

Well am a novice Sir
The link below will help you know what assessment level you fall into. Scroll down to use the documents checklist tool.
https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/500-

If you have applied for a diploma course with a pathway to University and you have both diploma and university e-coe. Your case officer will assess you on your university ecoe and not diploma. Reason is because at the end of the day you will be going for a degree and not diploma.

You can go through the link below for better understanding of ssvp.
http://www.border.gov.au/Educationproviders/Pages/education-providers.aspx

Australian government doesnt want you to come work and payoff your tuition rather they want you to bring in money from your home country. So therefore, in order for them to be sure you are a genuine entrant they have placed diploma and tafe courses on AL3 list. Those coming for those courses must show heaps of documents to show they will be funding their studies from home.

Some schools under AL1 may still wish to see your bank statement before you are given admission. Reason is because some have entered the country and have refused to continue their studies due to unavailability of funds. Thou your chances of geting a visa under AL1 is higher than someone going for AL2/3.
