greenermodels:Do you know Youth Center, at Mgbakwu? Compared with this location in Urum you are trying to acquire land, which do you think is better? The location near Youth Center has about 150 plots for sale, at same 250k per plot. I got this information from a reliable property agent in Awka, whom I have done business with before. Just a suggestion that is open to scrutiny. I am interested in acquiring some plots in your scheme too. Do keep me updated. Also let me know if you need the contacts of the agent. |
![]() If only Nigerians can look beyond PDP and APC. Truly, we are not operating a two party democracy. Its just that most of the political heavies belong to either one of these two parties. Anyone elected from the platform of PDP or APC already have loads of liabilities in the form of his party members to appoint from. It won't work. If some credible individuals can come together to form a formidable alliance, they are bound to receive national attention. I want to see individuals like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Nuhu Ribadu, Shehu Sanni, Donald Duke, Pat Utomi, Bismack Rewane, etc come together to present credible opposition and nominate a presidential candidate. There's nothing to hope for from the folds of PDP and APC. Both parties are two faces of the same coin. |
meeky007:You mean, after reading this post, this is the question you came up with? Did you actually read and understand the post? |
TheMinimalist:Such a pity. Come back in 5 to 7 years and read this post of yours. If you still feel its justified, then you're set. You got a long way to go. I'm just hoping you will get there. All the best! |
TheMinimalist:Your response shows you know very little about modern minimalist architecture. There is a reason its called minimalist. Less is better. Less is more. Minimalist design strives to convey the message of simplicity. It uses basic geometric forms, and elements without much decoration, and simple materials. I can go on and on, but it would be a waste of time. If you are actually well grounded in minimalist architectural designs and buildings, you wouldn't keep stressing on the price of the garage door, as if its what gives the building its most befitting quality. While I agree that each individual has the option to finish his house with the quality of material he can afford, cheap, mid range, or expensive, that aspect should be left at the owner's discretion. In Nigeria, that same door can be fabricated with aluminium or any other suitable metal, at a fraction of the cost you mentioned. Check out Skimanski and his posts in this property section. That's someone who knows his onions. I can bet you he and his team can fabricate a good looking garage door at half that cost, or less. You post mostly pictures sourced from the internet here. What's the point? Anyone can do that. If you wish for patronage, go and do some more researches, then bring realistic, workable figures that many will find attractive. I wouldn't patronise you from what you have posted here. Not beefing you. Just a honest observation. You don't even need to listen to a single word I typed here. |
![]() The way some so called "elders" behave as if they never learned a damn thing from recent history! Isn't it the same Buhari who, after overthrowing a democratic government in 1984, placed president Shagari his kinsman under house arrest, and threw Alex Ekwueme, the vice president, in jail? Isn't it the same Buhari, who went to confront the late Lam Adeshina over herdsmen and farmers clashes in Oyo state, demanding to know why the late governor's people were killing his Fulani kinsmen. This was despite the fact that the Fulanis were the aggressors, and have killed a lot of farmers before the "agbekoyas" decided that they have recorded one death too many. Buhari never called his kinsmen to embrace peace then. He hasn't done so even now. So long as the Fulanis are not at the receiving end, all is well. They can kill as many innocent souls as they can, and no one will be made answerable. He has never failed to show his disdain for people from the south. For the Yorubas who still think these bloodthirsty Fulas are their partners in progress, they will soon end up in the belly of the beast. To be fair with Soyinka, he has always tried to be objective in his assessments. Know your enemy. The first rule of warfare. |

I was still serving in NYSC some years ago, when a senior colleague who resides in Saudi tried to get me a job there. After a few moments thoughts, I declined the offer. A little over a year later, I gave it some serious thoughts, seeing how the health sector in Nigeria has gone into an almost absolute rot. I eventually relocated to Saudi, but the social life wouldn't let me function to the the best of my ability. I did the next best thing: move to UAE. The UAE suited me better. Even at that, I had to move on after a few years. Now, you cannot by any stretch of the imagination compare the healthcare delivery in Saudi with Nigeria. There's no point. To think that sometime in the 1960s, the king of Saudi Arabia came to Nigeria for medical treatment is mind blowing. We have regressed so much as a country, even the devil thinks our case is extraordinary. |
![]() A fall out of the horrible contraption referred to as a country. Poor education, poor or non existing history lessons. That's what the northern caliphate wanted. Drag the rest of us into the stone age to be like them. What modern country on planet earth proscribes the teaching of its history in schools, just because they felt it would portray the political elites and their rag tag gangs in poor light? Only Nigeria. Little things such as this will keep showing how wrong and unworkable this anomaly of a country is. |
![]() . Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari says all hands are on deck to tame the monster of violence in the country. The brain dead troglodyte in Aso Rock keep talking trash. All hands are on deck, right? Yet he keeps paying off the monster called Boko Haram. He keeps paying millions in dollars as Ransome, and keep freeing "repentant" BH members after they are caught by the military. Buhari is either pure evil, or he is actually brain dead. Whichever one it is, we are fed up with the bloodletting his regime has institutionalized. How one man who rode to victory at the back of the masses would show no empathy in the face of their mass slaughter is beyond me. |
I have have never witnessed the amount of disdain and disrespect the police showed to a sitting governor under this APC government. The police spokesman called gov Ortom "a drowning man" The police insisted that attacks by herdsmen in Benue will never stop unless gov Ortom reverses the anti-open grazing law! All this, coming from the NPF. It is unprecedented. Under Buhari's government, bizare things you couldn't begin to wrap your head around keeps happening. I can bet my last penny that Buhari will never give this order for police to enforce the anti grazing law. It means a direct clash against his beloved herdsmen. The people closest to his heart. The people in whom he is well pleased. The only people whose activity is able to give him sustained erect!on for a few minutes, where nothing else could. The country has become so brutish and nasty, just like our medieval, stone aged dinosaur in Aso Rock prefers it. |
Such trends like this will bound to continue if Education isn't given a boost and its right of place. Employment generating policies are not implemented and religiously monitored by government. A child who was born in poverty, poorly educated and is now up to 30 years of age but is still struggling to afford a single balanced meal per day, would be lured by tales of quick riches such as this. In other words, these ritualists are still in business because African economies keep going downwards. |
To those who are asking for this thread to be taken to the front page. May I ask, what huge or marginal benefit do you expect from such a move? Those who have contributed to this thread to get to this impressive number of pages know where to find it. Take it to FP and it loses its essence, as all the misfits and nodogooders who haven't seen it will jump in to shyte on it. A good thing doesn't crave for validation. Taking it to FP is unecessary. Like some deluded Igbos who are canvassing for support for Buhari in next year's election, so that the emperor can graciously hand over the baton to an Igbo president in 2023 . Very naive and harebrained thought!Let's not show ourselves to be fools or confused. |
happybrother:Have you come across hybrid oil bean (ugba) trees or seedlings? |
![]() Who's his worst critic that will admit that Bubu and his govt has made improvements with security? I mean, with the unending statistics of death recorded everyday, this brain dead, prehistoric dinosaur is patting his administration on the back! Just today, another couple of dozen people were murdered in Benue. Yes, you have really improved security in your dreams. If Bubu expects praises, he should turn to Lai Muhammad. Bunch of thoughtless, conscienceless and ineffectual waste of taxpayers money. I shudder to think that this near illiterate bereft of any progressive idea is being paid as president over Africa's most populous country. Shame!! |
usba:Ahhh...you again. Wonder when you'll EVER have something half sensible to say. I promise you, you won't die if you use your head once in a while. Try it. Its fun too. |
Great reforms are happening in Saudi Arabia. This is a case of touching and bashing the seemingly untouchables. One of the reasons we can't expect this to happen in naija is, almost the entire politicos have skeletons in their cupboard. You can't make huge reforms if u have got baggage of your own. Which makes it funny when people were calling the lizard in Aso Rock the "new sheriff in town" who's come to clean the stables. What a joke! The first person who warned the lizard just weeks into his tenure is IBB. Lizard hinted that he was going to open investigations into past cases of drafts, and the crafty old IBB issued a public statement that before he gets carried away by the trappings of power, Bubu should know that details of his own misdeeds while in office as the head of PTDF could be produced in a jiffy. That was the day Bubu's anti-corruption "war" ended .....just weeks into his tenure. |
Watch the speedy response by the military. The anointed ones have been killed, and there must be a reprisal. That a thread such as this can quickly degenerate into tribal mudslinging between Igbos and Yorubas is simply amazing. We have so many hopeless foolz in the country. |
INFOBIZ3:Such a silly remark. If he had waited on God, he wouldn't have gotten his full payment. This God you guys find easy to call at all times, He's not a fool, you know. Once you have the resources at your disposal to better your situation, God expects you to act! Humans are called higher animals for a reason. God implanted in us superior brains for problem solving. That being said, the OP has absolutely no business returning part of the money. No sir! Except he is lilly livered. Firm B has shown it can call the shots on his behalf. They got his back. He can confide in them if need be Rather live on your feet than die on your knees. Religion has really lobotomized a lot of folks. What rubbish infobiz do I expect to get from someone with your mindset? |
modelmike7:Yours is beyond redemption. When the facts on ground absolutely negates his comments, yet you still type this trash. Are you guys cursed? |
![]() What a clown. He and his aides are always making contradictory statements. Did they bother to let him know that thanks to his rampaging killer kinsmen, domestic food production has gotten real low? Another farming season is here again, and most farmers are scared of venturing into their farmlands. He's targeting zero importation, but he won't walk the talk. Audu Ogbeh is available to help arrange for importing his favorite food items. Slowpoke president. |
ejembi28:Wow. How did you get your info, since the VIN is not given? I'm not antagonizing you, bro. Just curious. |
Mariangeles: There you go. Typical African. Always recommending spiritual solution to a physical or medical problem. You are no different from that Jehovah's witness guy who insisted that his wife who was in difficult labor and needed blood transfusion will not get it because his faith doesn't allow it. The wife eventually died. What next? He should blame God for his wife's death, right? Not saying God doesn't play a role in every sphere of our life if you allow him. But first things first. Seek medical attention. Even Owen Gee is ignorant for saying there is no medicine for the condition. Further check will reveal he eventually sought medical help. Depression is a medical condition. It can be treated/managed. Even Christ said that it is only those who are sick that requires physician. Most of those who have committed suicide due to depression NEVER sought for medical attention. That tells a lot! |
![]() Great to see that automakers are bringing back station wagons. I just looove wagons. They are so versatile and make my life easier. When Toyota stopped churning them out after 2000 or so, I became somewhat despondent. I don't know why sedans hold little attraction for me. Though I wouldn't buy this unit, as it doesn't come equipped with roof racks. There's something about wagons that make them unobtrusive, nearly anonymous. Most folks don't pay much attention to them, and that suits me just fine! |
Kooldon:Oh, seem like you don't know your country well. The epileptic power crises has been an issue before I was born. Every successive government vowed to tackle it (including this present one) Over 50 years after independence and we can't boast of 12 hour regular power per day. What about population census, and a comprehensive data base of its citizens? That one has become rocket science. What about good roads? Granted that not all the roads in the country can be tarred, but what about the extremely important ones that add value to the economy, like the Oshodi-Apapa express way that leads to the seaport? That one has become mission impossible. Cleaning up the oil spills in the Niger Delta? Until Christ comes. So, this issue about herdsmen killings, don't ever think its going to go on the front burner anytime soon. Tivs, Idomas, Jukuns and other tribes in the middle belt are third class citizens. It would take about a 100 of them to equate with one cow. |
Cinkq:Huh. What a stvpid comment. You deserve to be slapped, reslapped and tripple slapped. As if most, if not all the people caught with human remains in the SW aren't Yorubas. This is what happens when you make excuses for your problem, rather than facing it. What the hell is your definition of an omoluabi anyway? |
NwaAmaikpe:This is damn too childish. Is this an attempt to appear funny? Well, you're trying too hard, and the effort makes you appear retärded |
![]() Nigerians can overflog dumb issues, especially when it comes to making light of something that ought to be taken seriously. Seem like we are so eager to latch on to something to make a caricature of, while ignoring the serious undertone of such matters. Perhaps its a mechanism to cope with deep seated frustrations and disgust with our sociopolitical situation..? Whatever be the case, it doesn't help us much. Politicians would only use it to their advantage, by making ridiculous excuses or comments once they goof up, knowing the populace would just take it up from there, and forget the real issues. |
NwaAmaikpe:I'm more interested to know how he performed the feat of killing himself with the machete. |
![]() Seemed like a lot of folks headed to watch the movie reached out to fellow African-Americans, telling them to wear native African dresses. A friend who was going to the cinema told me she was going to wear something of that nature. Thought it was an isolated, spur of the moment idea. Didn't realize a lot more people made similar decision. That's cool. Thanks to a Hollywood blockbuster, Black people have yet another reason to be proud. |
Pavore9:Sweet Lord. This is music to my ears ![]() I know I'm going to enjoy my "retirement' |
