spyder880:I'm still trying to digest the photos from Ebonyi state. Honestly, I didn't realize that Ebonyi is this open. The state has very little online presence, so laid back and anonymous. I should visit the state before this year comes to an end. Thanks for the pictures and information. I'm not sure what other state you should do next, as the rest have much online presence, especially here on NL. I would suggest Abia next, as Imo and Enugu has been covered to a great extent in other threads. Next to Ebonyi, Abia has little online showing. |
Okay, the thread has metamorphosed into what was expected. Let's raise its momentum and keep it rolling in the right direction. |
Handsomegod:You are free to disagree. Even so, it isn't this thread proposed by Spyder880 that will be the deciding factor for bringing in to the fold those who believe they have no place, or would not be fully represented in a sovereign Igbo state. I don't think it was what Spyder intended when he developed the idea for that thread. What you're asking for calls for a deeper probing of the concerned people's expectations and reservations. It is an issue more sensitive than a thread on a public forum such as this can handle. You know how it will definitely turn out here, with a whole bunch of misfits and trolls coming into it. This thread isn't meant to address that. I may be wrong though. |
Handsomegod:I don't think this is wise. Remember what happened when IPOB and its rallies gathered momentum? Several dissenting voices arose. Not just from the average man on the streets, but some renowned political figures as well. Let this thread be restricted to the 5 Igbo states. Including people who always feel like they are being coaxed to join their Igbo brethren would be counter productive at this stage. If we all agree that the 1914 amalgamation of Nigeria was a horrible error, why should we do something almost similar, or along those lines? A good product sells itself. If the main Igbo states get their act together with a strong regional integration, neighboring non igbo speaking states will call for referendum to be assimilated. A maiden who makes herself presentable will attract multitude of suitors. The headache isn't to bring back erring or lost kinsmen, especially when they didn't ask for it. The issue is to get our acts right, and they will seek us out. |
Cosplay:Bro! You're doing a terrific job here! I've seen some other threads where you posted the original condition of vehicles advertised for sale here. Seem like most second hand vehicle merchants here are often dishonest. Thanks for what you're doing! |
Sirdayor:I second this. Except he is trying to sell residential plots, or he and the firm he represents are going to farm narcotic plants or some precious metals on the land. |
SteadyIncome11: ![]() Seriously? Make a commitment when the basic info indicates it isn't workable? You make it seem like a ponzi scheme. Whatever ROI you talk about here isn't realistic. |
SteadyIncome11:Get real, man. Who pays 450k for a plot, 300k for development levy for each plot, or 3million for an acre for land that is exclusively for farming (means a payment of 1.8m development fee per acre!) ? Even Dangote won't buy such land for agriculture, I assure you. That the land has been registered and certified for agricultural purpose makes it cumbersome for anyone who buys now, with a view to converting it to other use later (such as residential, school, healthcare facility etc) in future. |
![]() Two sets of twins....that's the oba's grand gesture before he starts getting ready to join his ancestors. I strongly believe they are the products of insemination, and not necessarily bedmatics or intercourse. I could be wrong though, because when these elderly folks consume those potent local herbal mixtures, they could straff a horse to death ![]() |
asha80:Here's a news flash! Nobody here gives a single sh!t what you think ![]() Who really cares about your stomach ache over people's properties? Buildings are dynamic. If Owerri's economic drive changes direction, hotels can be converted to office blocks, hospitals, schools, even residencies. Put in your own stake and invest in properties too. I repeat: no one here gives a hoot what you think. |
maclatunji:As if its the New York Times that is expected to make any changes in Nigeria's politics. By the way, you didn't laugh when NYT supported Buhari in 2015. Typical of "Buharists" All the NYT did is make a factual report. As a news outlet, that's its job. You Buhari supporters conveniently hide your brains (that is, if you got any) in your ass when its time for dispassionate analysis. What is it in the report that is disputable? Keep laughing. That's what empty barrels are good at: a lot of noise. |
lacasera14:#yawns# What else is new? Idiot Dumb Ignorant Stupid.... Have you run out of insults and name calling? Didn't know one should ignore hills when building flyovers and overpasses, especially when cost of construction is a factor. You still need to see a cinema in order to accept that Enugu is at least a decent city? ![]() Sorry, neither I nor Enugu needs your endorsement. I'm done with you. Just stew in your deepseated angst. |
lacasera14:Sweet God!!! I mean, with all the insults, name calling and all, you finally proved that you never visited Enugu! This is probably the reason you couldn't show a single picture, and rather giving lame reasons you decided not to upload any ![]() So, Enugu doesn't have a single flyover?? See how you ended up mocking yourself. People who would rather descend to name calling and insults, rather than using objective arguments are usually empty and dumb. You've just proved that you're one of them. You seek attention where no one has the time for you. Look elsewhere. Nobody visits Enugu by air or land and still make those incredible claims in bold you just did up there. Get a life, boy. Your insults mean nothing, because you are nothing. |
RenegadeFrost:You got an ambitious plan right here. I hope you can pull through with it. You know, when you sit down and think about the ramifications of it, you get to realize that this plan cannot depend solely your financial liquidity, or on how dogged or determined you are. A lot will depend on the economy and how government policies (or lack of it) affects it. Our society and economy reflects the type of government in place. Never stop strategizing. All the best! |
teejay5:Hi. Its been over 6 months since you made this post. Did you go to confirm the land? I actually saw the same advert online today (offered by one Madaj Classic Homes Ltd) Kindly post updates if you have any. |
RenegadeFrost:These are nice. Quite sure what has prevented these sorts of high rise buildings across the country is the shortage of electricity. You can't build this without installing elevators. Elevators need a steady power supply to be useful. The alternative is to get diesel powered generators to be operated at additional costs, which will drive up the rental cost. So, if you decide to go that route, next consideration is what part of town to acquire land to site the building, that won't drive tenants away due to prohibitive rents. Means you need to position the building in a high brow (or very close to) part of the town. This, to ensure you get a decent ROI. If you can afford to build a 4 storey, you might as well make it 6 to 7 storeys or more, to save land space. But at this level, an elevator is a must! |
spyder880:When I saw this picture, I developed this strong urge to pray for you. Right now, I'm begging you: don't take unneeded risks especially when up on a high building. Biko kwa! I implore you to put safety first. Start wearing safety gears on site at all times. Its also time you invest on same for your workers. At least helmets and safety boots. We need you here, alive and well. I'm sure your family needs same too. You are an investment to many of us here! ![]() All the best! |
AprokoGirl:Yes, God is amazing. God is faithful. No doubt However, don't act stvpid by insinuating this woman's childbirth was an act of miracle, and not the product of medical science. She had an IVF. I can bet an entire paycheck on it. The nasty thing with us black folks is the tendency to attribute everything to spirituality. The average white man, while thanking God for its success, will still let it be known that it was achieved through IVF. But Africans will give you the impression that the triplets were conceived through spirituality, and nothing more! |
honeychild:Asswipe has gone spiritual ![]() Incredible! In other words, God hates your Igbo brethren, which translates to an open cheque for other people to hate them as well Meehnn....Nigerians, or rather, the bulk of other non Igbos within the contraption called Nigeria, here's the question you all need to answer: You all hate the Igbos. Even God hates the Igbos. You (and God) just can't stand their pride and arrogance. The Igbos realize this and pleads to be left alone, to forge their own nation and destiny, as they tried to do 50 years ago. But you, and the rest of Nigeria refused. What do you then want?? You despise them, you can't stand them, yet you want them to coexist with you! What brand of malaria do you and Nigeria have that have defied every medication? ![]() |
![]() The presidency: useless, good for nothing collection of individuals with no self worth. Two minutes after Omokri posted that, the presidency quickly tweeted a condolence message. Pretty sure they are constantly watching Omokri's tweeter handle. I'm also quite sure the prehistoric dinosaur that occupies Aso Rock still has no idea about the Offa incident, much less doing what is expected of him as the father of the nation. Oh, that's true.... Buhari doesn't know anything. He's as useful as spoiled kunu. |
Alariiwo:The statement in bold is as false and as empty as you are. The undisputable fact is, there was a war in the SE. A war that raged on for 3 years and took the life and potential resources of nearly 3 million souls. Other than Lagos, put SE states side by side with SW states and tell us how the SW is miles ahead. How then could you say "even if there was no war..." Did you manufacture a parallel universe in which you can compare a SE not destroyed by war? I mean, how can you make such an harebrained and senseless comment, and think it a smart argument? Next thing, you would argue that the civil war never took place. Just as the poster said, you lots will ignore Yoruba threads and masturbate on Igbo ones until you ejaculatë blood. ![]() |
![]() This is sad on so many levels. Hunger and ignorance will be our undoing. The messed up mods who bring such things to the front page are also partly responsible for people's disregard for wild life. |
![]() Na so. In Ekiti, after you have been ousted in an election, just be patient for another 4 years, then come back to "chop" Fayose and Fayemi must both think Ekiti state is their dinning table, in which they must eat turn by turn. |
sirchikero:Senseless topic. What's the comparison for? Who needs it? |
horsepower101:When you keep replying that nonentity, then you are no better than him. What part of "ignore him" did you not understand, pls? |
![]() As usual, the brain dead troglodyte doesn't know what he's saying. You have really united Nigerians by your words and actions. That's why the first major speech you gave on an international broadcast separated the 5 percenters from those who gave you majority votes. That's why the Nigerian army and police cannot arrest murderous herdsmen across the country. That's why the middle belt and every tribe southwards feel persecuted, neglected and getting slaughtered by your terrorist kinsmen, without you never publicly condemning their actions. Its better every component part of this madhouse country know where they stand and take steps towards self preservation. |
Mr. Newton-Farris said, “My advice to Nigeria is this, I know that a lot of Nigerians feel a little displeasure with President Buhari moving too slow on some of his reforms..." This is the sort of advice we can do without. We do not need advice from someone who obviously doesn't know our unfortunate president as much as we do. He said Buhari is slow, and to give him more time? ![]() Give Buhari 10 years, and he will still not have a frigging clue what his duty as a president entails. The man is brain dead. He is useless even to himself. The only time Nigeria has been this bad was during the period leading to the civil war. Buhari has broken the pitiful records he set in 1984 because he doesn't have an Idiagbon to bail him out from his mess. If you ask me, three years is enough time to implement some of his policies and give a sense of direction to what his regime is trying to accomplish. The man is an utter waste of time and space. |
Daniel058:I feel you. Nice decision. But, where do you plan to acquire such size of land? |
![]() Now, that's one hell of a lot of calamity to befall a single person. I can't begin to imagine the horrible state of mind she is in at this time. But this report though.... Naija reporters and their half baked, totally empty and annoying reports. You would think a reporter with half a brain would be curious as to enquire how the woman lost seven of her children... Instead, he's content to write that she lost seven kids to various circumstances. Such silliness. |
spyder880:Wow. Thanks for the exposé. ![]() |
SoNature:How did this estate acquire its name? Zoo estate? Is there a zoo attached to it, or what? The name is unsettling. |
greenermodels:Oh, I see. Sorry about that. It kind of explains something that has been nagging at me. Do you know who Egbuonu Eugene is? |
