![]() Nairalanddist:When I began reading your post, I was shaking my head. Talk about being devoid of cogitative capability! How could state police undermine the President's authority, when he is (as you rightly described) the commander-in-chief of the armed forces? Just listen to yourself! The police force is a civil establishment. The president controls the army, the navy and the airforce. There is no way the police force could "undermine" the President's authority when he has the real armed forces at his command. And then, you went and said what made me realize what and who you are. That sharia law is the best form of policing. What cave did you crawl out from? The Islamic countries you are so hoping to emulate also have a conventional police force in place. I know, because I've been to many of them. The world has gone beyond the primitive, religion induced stagnancy you still fantasize about. |
ARMED men stormed through 15 villages to massacre Christians and destroy their churches in a violent crackdown against the religion in Nigeria. Ever wondered how many of such attacks go unreported, given the penchant of Buhari's regime for cracking down on such news like this one? By JOEY MILLAR PUBLISHED: 08:00, Sun, Feb 18, 2018 UPDATED: 08:45, Sun, Feb 18, 2018 Dozens of people have been killed after the gangs ransacked towns and villages to clear them of all aspects of the Christian faith. Houses belonging to believers have also been razed with authorities doing little to help, an anti-persecution watchdog claimed. Open Doors spoke to one Christian who described the broad daylight attack carried out by a group of Fulani - one of Africa’s largest ethnicities. A spokeswoman said: “One attack took place in broad daylight, as people were about to go to church. “The assailants chased and killed the villagers and burned down nine churches and many more houses.” Christian persecution is a major problem in Nigeria which has been exacerbated by the spread of radical Islamic teaching and practice. The shocked witness said Christians needed more protection from the country’s leader or lives would continue to be lost. They said: “Despite several calls to the governor and his deputy, and other security apparatus, the government remained silent as the atrocities continued. “The Fulani were able to carry out their deadly attack. They stayed for hours in the vicinity, moving at will, unchallenged.” Details of the attack, which took place in north-eastern state of Adamawa earlier this year, have only just emerged. In the central state of Nasarawa, 25 villages have been destroyed since January 15. Again, the predominately Christian victims said they had been abandoned by leaders. A spokesman for the Concerned Indigenous Tiv People group said: “Since the outbreak of the crisis on January 15 this year, due to the Fulani /herdsmen attack on our villages, leading to the displacement of Tiv in their ancestral homes, the Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Almakura, has done very little to bring the situation under control." Other attacks have taken place in Benue State and across the Middle Belt region of the country. The Army has now been deployed to certain areas in order to stop the violence. A spokeswoman for Open Doors said: “Believers experience discrimination and exclusion, and violence from militant Islamic groups, resulting in the loss of property, land, livelihood, physical injury or death; this is spreading southwards. “Corruption has enfeebled the state and made it ill-equipped to protect Christians. Rivalry between ethnic groups and raids by Fulani herdsmen compound the persecution. Converts face rejection from their Muslim families and pressure to recant.” Source: https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/919422/christian-persecution-nigeria-islamic-Nasarawa/amp

Shukusheka:Wow. Is your brand of stvpidity factory fitted, or you acquired it as you grow older? The thing fit you, no be small. |
NonsoWow:Shame on you, if you're actually Igbo and made this comment. |

In tough cases like this, police can make them take laxatives that would loosen their bowels. Guess this dude wouldn't let anything supplied by the cops go into his mouth. Wonder what he's been eating and drinking since over three weeks. That poop will stink so bad when he eventually discharge it ![]() |
CoolAmbience:I understand your argument. Now, those passport sized photographs used in such records you mentioned, how useful are they when trying to connect them to a device such as those glasses, that would compare them to an animated human face, and produce a live match, in a real world situation? I doubt. There's a reason why law enforcement agents take mug shots of people for their records by having you face the camera, then take your face profile while you turn to the left, and then right. These are later combined to produce something close to a 3 dimensional image, which is more reliable. The data Nigeria has got isn't sufficient to make such face recognition device useful. It can't work. You have to build the database files first, before such a technology becomes worthwhile to you. |
kstyle2:You are running faster than your shadow ![]() For such technology to be halfway useful, you need to have a solid database of the citizens and aliens in foreigners country first. That data (which will include a 3D image of each person) is what the facial recognition glasses will be connected to, in order for it to come up with a positive match. Nigeria doesn't have the data of up to 25% of its citizens yet. Even it doesn't have an accurate population figure, to begin with. |
rdokoye:Let me dispassionately analyse your comments. First, he asked for a database. Now, be sincere. Do you actually believe whatever database he would get will be anywhere near the actual statistics of Fulani herdsmen in the state? For a people who are always on the move, who are illiterates, who don't have usable identification, who many of their counterparts are non Nigerians, and who would regard with utmost suspicion whatever action any authority that is non Fulani brings, and try to evade it.... That, my friend, is an exercise in futility. Umahi doesn't have the database of roadside vulcanisers in his state (which is a more verifiable feat) much less that of itinerant herdsmen who now believe they shouldn't answer to anyone other than Miyetti Allah. Second, what makes you think they will isolate themselves strictly to the area allotted for grazing? Once the grasses have been consumed, can you bet your next paycheck they won't casually stroll with their cattle into adjoining lands? Umahi said anyone who kills their cow would be made to pay double. But if the herdsmen destroy anyone's farm, the herdsmen would be "severely warned!" ![]() Can you beat that? What herdsman is going to break a sweat because Umahi warned him? Same governor wants to doubly punish his own people, but will only warn the aliens whenever conflicts arise. What sort of disparity is that? When you see a potential source of trouble, the best move is to prevent it. Giving them lands to graze on is asking for trouble. Because they would take it that their activity has been backed by a form of legal authority. Asking them to vacate that land when they default would be the beginning of trouble. That's partly what led to the Agatu massacre. Umahi can't even provide lands free of charge for mechanised farms to his people. Give these folks an inch, and they would ask for a mile. Seem even you have never learnt any lesson from history. You don't act politically correct to a people who don't practice your own sort of politics. |
![]() A useless organization that is supposed to stem the tide of such fake tyres into the market. The best they can do is to warn us? Are we supposed to go with laboratory equipment to the market for testing tyres prior to purchases? At least mention brands whose products have been tested and confirmed to be genuine. I don't see how the average man can easily spot a fake tyre. This is scary! |
sarrki:See, try to stand on your head for 30 minutes, three times daily, morning, afternoon and evening. Its likely your brain could start working again. ![]() You keep accusing people that they don't have "comprehensive capacity," or whatever you call it, yet you can't stitch a decent sentence together to make any sense. How can anyone make sense out of your disjointed, meaningless typing? Who do you dis thing? ![]() |
sarrki:God help us. I have been trying to make heads or tails of this statement. For the life of me, I don't know what this deranged BMC felon is trying to say. |
![]() Other than looking for issues to distract the populace, the FG and EFCC are merely paying lip service to this. If EFCC has not convicted recent cases that happened within this administration, such as that of grasscutter Lawal, do you seriously think its the ones that have gathered dust that they would convict? I'll be happy to see these ex-governors convicted and thrown into the slammer, but its not Buhari and his merry men that will bring it to pass. For instance, is it Orji Uzor Kalu who has become a saint by joining APC that would get convicted? ![]() Waste of time. Failed government. Failed administration. |
GMBuhari:I believe you are the bastard you were referring to. |
Whatever action the FG and its military takes, should be taken with a pinch of salt. Buhari has already shown everyone where his allegiance lies. Once the NAF stations a base in the middle belt, don't be in a hurry to praise the move. Observe their operations while there first. If Buhari seemed to be making the right moves, it is only because he wishes to secure a second term from 2019. Not because he suddenly has the milk of humanity flowing in his veins. This same NAF bombed villages in Adamawa that had issues with Fulani herdsmen. They claimed that they bombed civilian targets just to scare away Fulani herdsmen!! ![]() It is not unheard of how soldiers on security duties suddenly vacated their stations some minutes before helpless civilians were attacked by terrorists (both Fulani killers and BH squads) Don't be lulled into a false sense of security. You can never trust this government. |
docadams:You're just spitting so much hot air. With all the lame praises you're heaping on the old dinosaur whose late action is just for him to secure a reelection. Same reason he's talking about restructuring now. You must be harebrained to believe Buhari is taking these actions because he has your welfare at heart |
adadike281:Sorry, sister. That surest way for those prayers getting answered is if he quits the military. This sort of exposure he got is almost a guarantee of his getting killed. The same military he serves is being controlled by the FG on one hand, while the other one steers the affairs of BH. Its worse, him being a southerner. |
FriendofGod:I suppose you're one of them, to know that not all of those who herd cows in the daytime also pick up guns at night to attack perceived enemies. |
BlackAfrican:Ok. So, what's your own evidence they are civilian JTF?? |
FriendofGod:This one don miss road o! So, the people they butchered in Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba, Delta, Edo, Plateau etc were all cattle rustlers?? The pregnant women they dissected their womb and brought out the almost due foetus and smash its head were all cattle rustlers?? The farmers whose crops they destroy and kill the farmer if he dares to confront them are cattle rustlers? The women they rape while on their way to farm are all cattle rustlers?? You well so? |
alade112:Oh great! The very intelligent dude just directed me to a blog whose site reads "renown-electric" Yet, its not all about electricity. ![]() Sorry, I don't have to visit the blog. I'm done with you. Go find someone or something else to bugger. |
alade112:It's not about electricity, says an intelligent twerp. Your basis for comparison is so lame, I can't even say why I bothered to reply this. If it isn't abt steady electricity, what else has been stopping people from building high rise buildings? Companies and corporations build it in Nigeria because they can afford to power it with diesel generators. Even the cost of it is prohibitive. My kid bro has his office on the 12th floor of Bookshop House on the island. In the mornings, the generator is on to power the elevator when there is no public supply. IN THE MORNINGS ONLY! After the morning rush, the generator is turned off. If you need to go downstairs later, you have to use the stairs. Coming upstairs after the morning rush also means you must use the stairs!! Private individuals usually limit the number of storeys they build for rentals to 3 or 4 storeys. Because installing and powering elevators on private generators will drive the rental cost over the roof. We have limited the downside of poor electricity to buildings. How about other factors that drive development? How about its effect on small businesses, factories, health care, education, agriculture, security.....the list is endless. Don't get me started. ![]() How many of your houses have you installed an elevator in? That's if you have built a house in the first place. |
FriendofGod:Oh. They usually attack guilty people. ![]() Keep waiting for concrete evidence. Benue peeps were waiting for the evidence too, until more than 70 of them were mass buried. |
BlackMbakara1:Stvpidity takes so many levels. Rate yours in a short while. Do you know Atoms Aigbehi? He owns a large farm in Edo state. This isn't his first video. He's made several, which he posted online. One of his videos showed the unarmed herdsmen that usually come to his farm. They gist and socialize with him. Other videos showed his efforts at digging trenches around his farm to deter their cattle's from getting into it. Many times, he wears bullet proof vests around his farm. Go to his Facebook page and check out the pictures and videos. He is not new to them. This time, he wore a body cam around them. If nothing else, you should know the colors of the NPF. Didn't you see at least one of the rifles painted in that color? You probably live in an area where these killer herdsmen don't graze their cattle. Just chill...they will be at your doorstep soon, and you can get to ask them if their bullets and rifles are real. Now, smile for the camera, then rate yourself. |
gunners160:Stop acting self righteous. It was filmed by a woman in a car driving by. Moreover, there are some men who are already trying to separate the fight when she passed by. You mean, after watching the clip, you still went ahead to type this? You have been noticed. Now, smile for the camera. ![]() |
sexybbstar:This event happened same place almost 40 years ago. Why hasn't the world ended since then, going by your warped and religion induced analysis? ![]() |
This is very grave. If you guys remember, gov Ortom was berated in the past for not being more outspoken over this issue. He was called out for not asking the FG to take decisive action. He actually found it difficult to criticize the presidency over this issue. He would rather roll on the floor in remorse and ask his people to pray. But now, notice this change. The amount of bloodshed has made him realize that his allegiance doesn't lie with an uncaring FG, but to his people. For the first time since this sham democracy, a sitting governor is asking his people to take up arms and defend themselves, that even he is not safe from Fulani murderers. That tells you a lot! We are approaching anarchy. |
OneCorner:That is a market. Your noise making is noted, though. Now, pat yourself on the back and smile for the camera. ![]() |
Its is crazy, what so called politicians will do for power. It makes them lose all sense of reason. When you have younger politicians such as this Kogi state governor coming to make a mess of himself, you begin to wonder if youthful folks are really ready for leadership positions. I believe this is the first time a governor is trying to make "foreigners" become indigenes just so he can give them lands to rear cattle. Just so he can asslick Bubu to help him win a second term....and his people he threw under the bus would suffer the consequence for generations to come. |
