sandraokosun: do u just type because u read people type. Instead of vindicated, akpabio indicted her for not remitting to treasury for 7months 1)What was shared in FAAC these periods that you stated because I know remission from different sectors are captured and stated...Nigeria's tax system is also not too strong to withstand the economy per chance NO remission comes from oil... 2)If she stole those and never remitted to federation account...why is remission to FAAC almost same since she left or is Kachukwu stealing same too because world oil price recession can't explain it out... 3)If she stole as much as published ...why is UK finding it difficult nailing her since 2013 that investigation started? |

If Buhari does not run then the party stands a chance, if he runs he will always lock down the North no matter what. Dankwambo the presumptive PDP frontrunner for now, Ribadu waiting in the wings. Obi or NOI would be running mate. Dankwanbo vs Obi should do for me... |

Candyrain: When one looks at this country called Nigeria, one just shakes its head. We know what the problem is that we are facing in this country, we know what to do to get out of it but those who have Nigeria in their hands just don't care since the present structure is good for them. Do we keep quiet and watch them run us as they want? NO. We'll keep talking and hope one day something is gonna happen. Sure, we keep talking hoping one day, the aim would be achieved... |

kenny987: The parasitic elements in this country refuse to change the status quo. They benefit greatly from this sick arrangement to the detriment of the Southern oil producing regions. Unfortunately the thieves from oil producing states compromise their people, get involved in raping and destroying their region under the guise of calling for fiscal control. When the powers that be decide to get them, they are actually guilty, their fingers are caught in the pie and there's no denying it. When it happens, all their people see is their guilt and culpability.
If fiscal federalism and resource control will come to fruition, affected persons from Southern Nigeria must form a formidable front and do away with all the divide and rule tendencies that have been employed all along. The front persons leading the cause must be prepared to pay the price of being upright and avoiding the temptation that comes with free oil money. The press must be engaged as well to tell their side of the story not only what the government decides to feed the country. That is why Radio Biafra is a thorn in their flesh cos now another side of the story can be heard. It is just one part of the battle that must be fought n won... Good one...but will greed and personal aggrandizement allow for such unity of purpose...DSP Alamieyeseigha did provide some sort of umbrella for ijaw nation before his demise...Who takes over now? Jonathan isn't a radical leader with crazy instincts required here |

This post is NOT in anyway to support looting of common treasury; but I think the dictum that NOTHING or NOBODY is entirely bad in itself/himself, as even a spoilt clock is right twice daily holds true here.
The duo of James Onanefe Ibori and DSP Alamieyeseigha(RIP), though are accused of money laundering and other attendant corruption charges, have something UNIQUE; which I feel fed their being singled out among the retinue of corrupt personnels bedevilling Nigeria.(Kindly note here that I believe strongly that corruption in Nigeria can NEVER be stopped by any agency; EFCC, ICPC, CIA, FBI, or whatever or even any individual in Nigeria; because it is not a federal or state or LGA sin alone, but a decay of the GENERAL VALUE/NORM system in Nigeria, wherein wealth is valued & respected over and above integrity. And most people aren't ready to sweat for success anymore).
As James Ibori is serving his term in UK presently; Buhari was being accused of planning to extradict Alamieyeseigha to UK for another prosecution before his painful death.
These men(IBORI & ALAMIEYESEIGHA) are two FEARLESS, OUTSPOKEN, COURAGEOUS and probably more CONFRONTATIONAL advocates or faces of RESOURCE CONTROL and FISCAL FEDERALISM in the contemporary Nigeria. They have always insisted on the above notwithstanding the threats and intimidation.
Given their similar corruption crime ordeal, unflinching home support of the masses, similarity of their accusers, presidents of Nigeria and other questionable events surrounding this case; one cannot afford not to ask serious and maybe bitter truth questions.
1) Is it a mere coincidence that both of them have been prosecuted by our colonial masters and architects of this dysfunctional marriage called Nigeria?
2)Is it just by similar fate that both have been accused of intimidating corruption, even when a look further up country shows an array of men with FAR MORE mind boggling illicit wealth amidst poverty ridden neighbors cruising around?
3)Is anybody in leadership per chance thinking of the axiom; "Kill or Pick out the Shepherd and the sheep will scatter", with regard to resource control and fiscal federalism especially by the Niger Delta people that feeds Nigeria?
4)Is their any plan to stifle the voice(s) for resource control and fiscal federalism especially by NigerDeltans by some high powered individuals up-country playing virulent politics?
5)Who wants all leaders in SS that are singing discordant tunes from Nigeria's owners stifled? What's definition of justice in Nigeria?... Why is it hard now for Nigeria to allow for 50% resource control in oil and ensure fiscal federalism; given that when groundnut(North) & Cocoa(South-West) were the mainstay and financiers of Nigeria economy that these people had 50% of such money to themselves? Why are they stopping same rule for oil producing states now and shutting all proponent's voices? Are some more Nigerian than others?
6)Would North and APC South-West have allowed the status quo to remain if they were fortunate to have as much oil as NigerDelta that's if the table was turned around?
7)Why is buhari not interested in implementing Confab report since he's purported to be a man of integrity, uprightness and justice? Or does his sense of justice and injustice have limitations and exceptions? Or he believes all those that gathered to discuss and came out with that report are noisemakers? Or is his sectional interest more important to him than national interest as president of Nigeria
Suffice it to say that, We need to start thinking and asking valid questions in Nigeria and standing our ground for answers from relevant people too. NigerDeltans and all noble Nigerians should insist on RESOURCE CONTROL and FISCAL FEDERALISM; as the problem of Nigeria is more in the structure than in the faces. We need the right structure with strong institutions NOT strong individuals.
Thanks and God bless us all...

obailala: A[s] clueless leader right?
I can bet you that in the administration of all the past Nigerian leaders, including and especially during the reign of your hero GEJ, NNPC and the FG could not even account for how much they were losing. Yet you think they were 'clue-full' and this administration clueless?
Routine losses from oil theft alone in the last 5 years stood at a staggering 400,000 barrels per day (appx $40million per day). If you do the maths for a period of 8months, that amounts to approximately 1.9Trillion; and this is from crude theft alone, not even mentioning every other gaping financial holes the NNPC under other administrations were known for. Yet someone thinks they were 'clue-full' and this administration clueless?
What we have here is simply a leadership which for the first time in Nigeria's history, now infuses financial accountability and transparency in its dealings. For the first time, someone is now making efforts to estimate and publish the estimated losses from the inefficiency in the system.
A wise man knows the first step in solving a lingeting problem is to first define and quantify its extent. But unfortunately, someone who appears to be possessed with the spirit of non-discernment thinks this sort of approach is a sign of cluelessness?[/s] Stop being ignorant ...This report has been the status quo for long with NNPC ...Kachikwu only choose to publish it now for the public and also update the records for 2015 which is the only one not yet done... That NOI choose to publish what accrued to states and federal government under Jonathan to the public does not mean that FAAC started under Jonathan ... |
