1) He said we are heirs of great empires like the Benin Empire, the great OYO Empire, The Great El kanem empire and the Uthman Dan fodio empire. He needs to be reminded that Uthman Dan Fodio was a colonialist from Futa Jallon , he was no different from the British colonialist like Lord Lugard and co 2) He acknowledged the help of Cameroon, Chad and Niger for their help in combating the menace of Boko Haram. Not once did he acknowledge the efforts of our gallant soldiers nor did he pay tribute to our fallen heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice in their effort to rid this country of the menace of the terrorist 3) he said they are going to study the problems bedeviling the power sector with a view to intervening with measures that would lead to success in that critical sector. This clearly belies their claims in their manifesto and promises made during the campaign. The impression they gave was that they've studied the situation in the power sector and have the magic wand to give us uninterrupted power supply in the next four years. Surely, they must realise that we won't be entertaining any excuse for failure 4) he addressed his wife as her excellency, I find this quite curious coming from someone who has promised to do away with the office of the first Lady, and what really qualifies his wife as her excellency? |
Ekaka1:Hahahahahaha Oshio baba, the garrulous, khaki wearing gomina of edo state |
abdulkayus:The whole ceremony looks more like a military drill/parade instead of a seamless change of power between two civilian government. I think its high time we did away with colonial tradition, this should ordinarily be a celebration of our democratic process |
MeandSum:I was shocked when I heard him begging the security personnel to maintain order, a real shame |
omenka:And where would he derive the power to restrict people's movement? We elect a democratic president subject to the rule of law and not a tyrant whose whims automatically becomes the law. Hysterical, mob-like accusations are not necessarily factual and mere perception of guilt cannot be the basis for the abridgment of people's right. |
dearpreye:For our collective well-being as a nation, I join in your supplication |
Flets:May the good Lord bless u and your generation, this willful amnesia shall be cured someday |
Kingkamal:And not one of those positions did he attain on merit. Hijacking the machinery of state with guns bought with tax payers money is not a feat that should be eulogized. We are where we are today because some neophytes were given responsibility beyond their intellectual capabilities |
CSTR2:The last time he lost, innocent souls were mutilated and soaked in blood. This kind of grace is alien to a man who believe the leadership of this nation is a birthright |
![]() tsdarkside:He was never a resident in Aso Rock
pahhh...buhari was already once in aso rock,,,,jonathan pisss me off!!!! ![]() |
vantage7:That would be like solving corruption with corruption, those guys don't even know how much crude is being lifted by their JV partners nor how much is padded into their exploration cost. NPDC is into exploration and their activities is shrouded in secrecy as alluded to in the PWC's report. Then there is the added problem of appropriation, are they going to be allowed to import first and later submit their expenditures for appropriation? That's the same problem we have with subsidy |
princejenks:The interim measure should be putting in place an effective public transportation system, make it affordable , safe and reliable. This would go a long way in reducing our dependence on fuel. A situation where everyone put their cars on the road every morning is unhealthy, economically draining and unsustainable . |
r33d:The major factor militating against local refining is the subsidy regime. If we had done the needful a long time ago instead of adamantly refusing to yield to better reasons , by now a lot of private investors would have taken the risk of investing in the sector. For so long as we refuse to accept the reality, so long will our refineries remain moribund. We need to sell off the existing refineries as scrap, putting more money into fixing them would continue to be a wasteful exercise with no appreciable economic benefit. Right now, we spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year on turnaround maintenance with no commensurate benefit. Kaduna refinery has never fully worked for one whole month after every maintenance. Those Alhajis intent on making money from bridging always find a way of blowing up the refurbished engines, the nefarious activities of pipeline vandals is another major challenge. Govt should hand off refinery, remove subsidy, encourage private investors with good incentives and with time we'd all begin to enjoy the benefits |
kennygee:He is a magician, in 2days time we'd all be spectators in his circus show |
The gods always make them mad before killing them, last week it was Federal high court Owerri, this week it's Federal high court Lagos, futile expedition of a mad man and his cohorts. Workers in Rivers state not paid and clown is busy wasting state funds trying to thwart the electoral wishes of the people. |
simplynola:Hahahahahaha |
Correctman0606:Hahahahahaha to them we elected an infallible absolute dictator with no constitutional limitations, ready and willing to entertain them with sadistic rage against real and imaginary enemies. He would be the accuser , prosecutor and the judge, we'd live and abide by his unique sense of right and wrong, he determines what's moral and immoral, his wishes would be our command, the army, police, judges , legislators and elected governors must do his biddings. That's the Nigeria of their dream, their romantic idea of a modern society, the man to bring about their utopia. Reality won't be suppressed for long, it's inevitable |
The biggest mistake GMB can make is to assign this clown a position of prominence in his administration, he is the worst specimen of our depraved political opportunist. He is petty , loquacious and unnecessarily cantankerous. His level of impunity has never been witnessed in Rivers state before, not even under a military regime. He closed down the courts for more than a year, the house of assembly has been under lock for almost a year, declared a public holiday just to prevent a court from delivering judgment in the suit instituted by Nsirim against the dissolution of Obio Akpor LG, harbored in govt house and shielded from the law a lawmaker (Chidi Lyord) accused of criminal assault of a fellow lawmaker, openly admitted paying cronies billions of naira for road construction that were never constructed, only miffed by their later betrayal and disloyalty. The list of his atrocities is endless and we can't wait to heave a sigh of relieve with his exit from the brick house |
byrron:This cracked me up hahahaha. When EFCC decided to look into the profligacy of his administration when Wike was his chief of staff, the charlatan alleged persecution, went to court and got a perpetual injunction barring the commission from investigating/prosecuting any official of his administration.. He appointed the same Wike as the director of his campaign for re-election and later nominated him as a minister. The question is, you knew a man was a killer and a thief and yet you considered him worthy of elevation to the exalted position of a minister ? The story of Amaechi's stewardship and mal administration in Rivers state would be told one day soon and hopefully the scales would fall off the eyes of those who inspite of obvious evidence of his perfidy have chosen to remain blind |
PassingShot:Wonder how u were able to see the log in my eyes lolz , not definitely from my post. Now to your assertions , three years into IBB's regime , he was still a darling to the public, charming us all with his toothy smile and lofty but mismanaged programs like DFFRI, MAMSER, FRSC, community banks etc, only very few principled and discerning men like the late Gani were able to see through his charades. As at that time most Nigerians had consigned GMB to the rubbish bin of history, an aberration we all wished would never happen again in Nigeria Why I called him a tyrant and a bigot? We need not repeat his tyrannical misadventure in power, read Soyinka's 2007 article to re jig your memory. How do you describe a man who sat comfortably in his position as PTF chairman, enjoying every perks of office, unperturbed by the murderous inclination of the govt he served? Yar adua was jailed and killed, Obasanjo jailed , Ken Saro Wiwa killed , Omojowa was bombed and framed as a NADECO agent, Balgauda Kaltho, a journalist wad bombed, Alex Ibru, Pa Abraham Adesanya were shot, Kudirat killed, weekly bombs on Lagos streets, activist jailed or driven into exile, and this 'honourable' man was blinded to all these atrocities, serving the perpetrators of these heinous crimes. In the last 30yrs he's been out of power, tell me one honorable cause he's lend his voice to apart from propagation of Sharia all over the country? Remind if this man has ever condemned any religious riots and wanton destruction of lives and properties in the north in the last 30yrs. All said, inspite of my misgivings and for the sake of our dear country I wish him well and really hope he succeeds in steering the ship of our nation towards prosperity, peace and harmony |
PassingShot:Then you must remember how we were all jubilant the day he was unceremoniously removed like a troubling acne. I thought this doe-eyed crush on the taciturn tyrant, religious bigots were from those u didn't live in that era |
masquellett:He ceases to be a private citizen the day he became our president elect, he now lives in a house built and maintained at tax payers expense, his security is now the responsibility of the state so he should stop behaving like a carefree nomad |
The promised change should be about substance not unproductive symbolism , no one would have bothered about his means of transportation in England if his propagandist didn't make it an issue. Who really cares if he rides a donkey from the airport to his destination |
;DDunderheads baying for blood ;DDunderheads baying for blood, these people have all been tried and convicted on the pages of newspapers, blogs and forums, remember guys, he who must come to equity must have a squeaky clean hands. Now let's examine those likely to the charge for probity and accountability 1) Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, the Jaganbandit and DIShonorable leader of APC 2) Bukola BukunOLE, the looter of societe generale bank, loan defaulter (continental bank) , a staunch advocate of amala politics, turning the aged in Ilorin to senior almajiris instead of providing them means of self sustenance 3) Amaechi, APC chief clown, the initiator of the No 1 major MONOFRAUD in nigeria. A man provided with the unique opportunity to develop Rivers state with the unprecedented revenue that has accrued to the state in the last 8yrs (over 3trillion Naira) but elected to fritter it all away on wasteful projects, turning the state covers to almajiri's people's congress ATM 4) Abubakar Atiku, where do we start from? Siemens? Halliburton? Mismanaged BPE? He had to sell his house in Potomac and relocated his last mistress to Dubai so he would have no reason to visit USA and face the consequence of his perfidy Baba Onechance would first have to try all the ANPP governors who in 2003 spent their states money to sponsor his presidential ambition instead of using it to better the lots of their people in the NORTH EAST, most of whom have now become boko haramist Let him also release the report of the panel that investigated the activities of PTF under his chairmanship, the Okigbo report on Gulf war windfall, the senate committee report on the sale and illegal acquisition of land in Abuja under HELL-RUFFIAN etc, revoke all oil block licences, institute a probe into NNPC, activities since 1976 (yes we have the patience to wait for it) and make sure all previous and current looters are brought to justice not minding whose horse is gored |
The danger of a single narrative, these people always count on our short memories in their stupid attempt at revisionism. Was it Mama peace who encouraged Mr Amaechi in collaboration with Sylva and Saraki (then chairman of the governors forum) to vehemently oppose the swearing in of Gej as the acting president, even lobbying the national assembly members with Ghana must go to make sure he was never sworn in? Their treachery started long before Jonathan became the head of state and all their subsequent actions were geared towards achieving a premeditated objective. Amaechi is an arrogant, over ambitious oafish young man, placed by good fortune in a position beyond his ken. He is leaving Rivers state more fractured and insecure than he met it |
xage:Comprehensive is relative, no level of cooperation will satisfy the malcontents who are adept at crying wolf where none exist. The same officials who are supposed to be handing over/briefing them are the ones been daily harassed, misrepresented, tried and convicted on the pages of newspapers. If they are so certain they are inheriting Armageddon, what's the need in seeking cooperation from those they've labeled as the devil? |
Jonathan has to be very versed in sharia law for the taciturn bigot to be able to engage him in a prolong meaningful discussion. For a man who collects monthly allowee from the federal govt for more than 30yrs but failed to attend a single fed executive council meeting until he became the president elect, enjoyed the PTF chairmanship position quietly and unperturbed even as the dark googled tyrant he served ruled mercilessly, hounding nadeco, killing saro wiwa, throwing bombs in Lagos and other bases of opposition. His most notable contribution since he was unceremoniously plucked off from his usurped position of head of state was the sharia debate, 90% of his interviews in the more than 30yrs out of power were granted to BBC hausa service. Not really surprised he's vacuous and out of depth about pressing national issues requiring rigorous engagement with the outgoing president |
White007:It's a futile effort trying to educate those who have chosen to be willfully ignorant, all the lynch mob wants to hear is Diezani is a thief, Okonjo is a rogue, Jonathan is clueless |
ichidodo:Only few discerning minds like u really understands the issues and the enormity of the problem in the downstream sector. For more than five years this govt has made sure we have, perhaps more than at any other time in our recent memory, abundant supply of petroleum products for our consumption, and at great financial cost too. The rational thing would have been for govt to deregulate the sector, totally remove the subsidy thereby whittling down the stranglehold of the fuel cabals and the govt officials who profit illegally from the subsidy regime. This was however against the popular sentiment, shaped and promoted by this same opposition who are now crying foul now. The GEJ administration is now placed in a catch 22 position now, pay the blackmailing marketers and get pilloried for aiding corruption in the sector or refuse to pay them and allow them shut dow economic activities. The good thing is that we are going to have a transfer of power in about five days from now. Let the incoming administration examine the claims of the marketers and pay them what they feel is legally deserved, after then they can formulate their own policy for the downstream sector, hopefully without removing the subsidy (since they claim its all a fraud) maintain steady supply and probably reduce the pump price to N40. |

Sharia reporter hahahaha, his closest aides didn't know he was traveling but Diezani, a supposed enemy, the main focus of Apcheats venomous propaganda, not only knew he was traveling, but was able to also obtain the details of his scheduled flight. mediahubng:Sharia reporter hahahaha, his closest aides didn't know he was traveling but Diezani, a supposed enemy, the main focus of Apcheats venomous propaganda, not only knew he was traveling, but was able to also obtain the details of his scheduled flight. |
Frontloading the excuses for a predictable failure, getting power through mindless lies and propaganda is one thing, knowing what to do with it is another. Electing Buhari is like asking NITEL to take over mtn because of perceived challenges |
