Chubhie:Tyrants masquerading as democrats |
In a terse statement just read on Channels TV, Alhaji Lai Muhammed has threatened to sanction erring party members in the National Assembly who defied party instruction and teamed up with PDP in the just concluded election of leader for the 8th national assembly |
acemiliano:The voting for the deputy is still on-going |
zik4ever:Ekeremadu and Ndume slugging it out for the deputy position |
The first seed of discord in the new administration just germinated, I see a lot of wrangling in the days and weeks ahead |
Watching the event live on AIT now, Bukola Saraki has just been elected as the new senate president unopposed |
Verification neither adds nor subtracts from what's been declared, the essence of verification is to ascertain the truth or otherwise of what's been declared. Buhari cannot update his declaration to align with the result of the verification so what's the need in waiting for the result of the verification? The declaration is like an affidavit deposed to under oath, any lie therein amounts to perjury, to wait with a view to altering the content to align with the result of verification by CCB is tantamount to fraud. Publish your declaration now or forget it, stop insulting our collective intelligence. Those comparing what Yaradua did then to what the former despot is doing now should note that the late president never promised to publicly declare his asset, he owed us no moral obligation to publicly declare his assets but elected of his own free will to do so. |
Story for the gods, whoever expects this govt to probe a scandal involving Abacha, Abdusalami , Obasanjo and Atiku must be high on a special weed laced with DELUSIONAL, MIND ALTERING DRUGS. I guess this is another ploy to keep the gullible happy while the govt dithers, due to obvious lack of preparedness on issues germane to our socio-economic development |
A transparent govt would let us into the details of the agreement, have they agreed to pay the difference in the foreign exchange being claimed by the marketers? If so, how much have they agreed to? Who are the Marketers entitled to this claim? What parameters was used in verifying their claims? Are they going to keep supplying PMS at the old rates based on the existing templates? The same templates hitherto condemned as fraudulent when the present govt was in opposition |
I am sure most of these crimes were committed under the nose of the Sanctimonious Sanusi. He was busy looking for dirts in other people's compound and couldn't even perceive the stench of dead bodies oozing out from his kitchen, bedroom and sitting room |
There should be at least one knowledgeable professional, honest and trustworthy enough in the whole of this country he can appoint as minister of petroleum. Taking up the responsibility himself is nothing more than personalizing governance. We need strong institutions and not strong men, the only way any meaningful reform can outlive the initiator. Presiding over OPEC and holding meetings with petroleum ministers of other countries diminishes his status as the president of Nigeria |
I am so happy for the new administration, they would be so awashed with cash they won't know what to do with it. Even with the price of oil at half of what it was during the boom days of GEJ, I believe once all the financial loopholes are blocked they would be making more than $100b in annual revenue, enough to fulfil all their electoral promises. If the Jonathan administration was able to prosecute the war against BH for five years, pay for subsidy, build some hitherto abandoned roads, rail lines, invest in agriculture, pay workers salaries etc and were still able to steal over 100 trillion Naira ($500b), then this transparent, financially prudent, incorruptible govt of PMB should be able to turn this country to Dubai in the next 4yrs. No excuses please |
With the dire state of our economy, we do not need a bi-camera legislature. The motley crowd in the house of reps adds little or no value to our democracy. They've turned their oversight function to an avenue for blackmail and personal aggrandizement. Some of these guys spend as much as a billion naira to secure a place in the house so their first and major objective would be to recoup and profit from their investment. It's a grand delusion to think anyone of them is in that house to serve the interest of their constituency and the nation at large. All the probes they've ever embarked on have never yielded the desired result and always ended in controversies due to overt and shameless solicitation of financial inducement from the very people or institutions that are been probed |
The topic should have read "BUHARI- THE MAN WHO ARRESTED NIGERIA IN 1984 AND DETAINED HER AND HER CITIZENS FOR 18 HELLISH MONTHS, REVERSED HER DEMOCRATIC GAINS " The jubilation that heralded his ouster in 1995 made these men instant heroes and liberators of Nigerians from his tyrannical hell |
I think all the children passed away in his lifetime except Fatima |
This becomes topical in view of the plight of the young girls recently rescued from Boko Haram's captivity. Most of the girls were raped severally by the hell bound insurgents and some were discovered to be pregnant. When asked if they would like to keep the pregnancy, some of them opted for an abortion to rid them of the shame and indignity of giving birth and raising kids conceived under the most inhumane condition. About two weeks ago, the catholic church and some Nigerians seriously raised objections to the notion of allowing the girls abort the pregnancies. The question is, would these girls be morally justified if they abort these babies? |
These people are beginning to sound like circus clowns, what are you going to threaten suicide bombers with? Death? They better get down to work instead of issuing death threats to those who have signed a contract with death and are resolved to make trip to hell with as many people as can |
Firefire:The odour is insured so I am sure it would outlive this administration |
;DBaba wants Boko Haram to kill those guys instead of retiring them himself ;DBaba wants Boko Haram to kill those guys instead of retiring them himself |
Used and dumped already, his nuisance value has expired |
This is so hilarious, outrage from people who believed $700million was found under Dizeani's bed, who believed Ihejierika was a boko haram sponsor etc hahahahahaha |
Kolade354:I hope your response is not aimed at mocking her childlessness? If so, then I would have to say your dumbness is below sea level |
Kolade354:I am sure you would have believed it if same was alleged of Patience Jonathan |
I sincerely hope this is not true, it would be a sad reminder of our inglorious and long forgotten past |
If this is true, then we are in for a long nightmare
|
I think this senseless, mindless carnage is being escalated to justify the need for an amnesty RIP to the dead, they were just pawns in this senseless political chess game |
alVinHustle:So in peace time we should instigate wars deliberately from time to time so we can use on the field performances as the basis for promotions |
sammyj:A man who could not tame his immediate constituency and command the loyalty of officers under him as a maximum tyrant. He was aware of the coup that ousted him from power but was too clueless and powerless to do anything about it. He was removed like a chicken from its cage, the most uneventful ever in the history of coup in Nigeria. |
PassingShot:You are wrong, it's not a MUST for him to make his assets public within 100 days in office, the prerogative is his as he is not legally bound to do so . What he owes us is a moral duty based on his campaign promise. It is my believe that the moral burden can be discharged the very day he submitted the asset declaration form to the code of conduct bureau, he gains nothing by the delay but public mistrust and avoidable distraction from the more urgent and pressing state matters that needs his attention. He had more than a month btw the time he was declared the president elect and when he took the oath of office, enough time to aggregate his meager means , make it public and proceed with managing states affairs without needless distraction |
Bevista:And you are right brother, the constitution bars him from performing the functions of the office of a president until his assets are declared |
barcanista:Who dash am SAN? |
There should be a limit to playing to the gallery, the letters of the law is clear and unambiguous. Every lawyer knows that the intendment of the framers of the constitution is to guarantee that every state is represented in the decision making at the highest level of government. If we find the number of ministers stipulated by the constitution unwieldy and financially draining on the polity, the right thing to do is to amend the constitution. Buhari would breaking his oath if he circumvents the provisions of section 147 by heeding keyamo's foolish advise |
