FamilyRe: And What's So Special About The Male Child? by winteriscoming: 10:45am On Dec 06, 2013
phanthomz: Male children are different frm female children. Dat doesnt make dem special. Infact, the females are actually stronger than males in all ways. Dy make thr home and takia of the men who are infact boys. I call dem boys because most men dont know wat it takes to make a home. Its never always about the money he doles out.

Infact, when such men grow old and av urethral stricture frm various infections dy got while sleeping around or av diabetes wc will impair their manliness, dy should not expect d same womsn dy nneglected at home to come and care for dem in the hosp. Their cash should do the caring.

Growing up, my parents never discriminated btw us male or female children. The females washed cars, changed tyres, cut grass, pushed cars and every oda thing. The male did dishes when it was his turn, did his laundary and we all rotated doing our parents laundary, we all cooked and all. We all had the same curfew time and mum woke us up at d same time for morning chores.

Today, we are all married and its working for us. I dnt wait for my hubby to change my tyre or check my car battery or fix bulbs. My bro cooks when his wife isnt home and basically, we are happy. Dad made us girls buy lands b4 marrying. And made us all av minimum of an msc.

I think it was probably because dy were educated sha. But dats how im going to bring up my kids cuz it sure worked for me. My dad always boosted our self confidence and i dnt see myself being lesser than any man.
You my dear have a lot to be thankful for. Especially such great parents.

Here is an apt definition for tradition/culture : It's just something a bunch of guys used to do before and a bunch of others guys chose to continue.

It's like monarchy where people are expected to bow before you because you were the descendant of some dude who managed to convince his people he was God's gift to them.

Take the killing of twins as a real life example. It used to be tradition. See all the good stopping it has done, we now have p-square(wait is this an advantage :-)).

Children are special male or female.

caukerzee: My p with y'all saying One is better than S4 is that, other than your baseless sentiments, you have no stats of facts to proove how.
Yeah those phones are very similar. They both have same resolution with the One edging it in pixel density. The s4 is slightly faster, RAM is equal, s4 takes the camera, One takes battery life, graphics same. So not much to say one is better than the other

This thread has just justified Samsung's large marketing budget.
PoliticsRe: Understanding The Oil Theft Business In Nigeria (All About Stolen Crude) by winteriscoming: 1:48am On Dec 05, 2013
Nice right up. It was this kind of insight I was hoping to gleam into how the Nigerian system works when I started monitoring the politics section. A little sad that it took me this long to find.

As to the problem. Say for example you got a generator that runs 24/7. It powers blocks of streets. Houses, borehole, hospitals, schools and stuff like that. Do you think the majority of people in those streets will not keep an eye out and protect the gen. Of course they will because they're benefitting greatly from it. So also develop the Niger delta with a large amount of this oil proceeds and watch the people protect it for you.

idupaul: Typical Nigerian worker that does not know how his employer gets money to pay your miserable salary .Or does airtel own an oil well it uses to pay ur salary?
I don't work for airtel, cause I'm a student. I don't like their decision anymore than you do. But it's stupid to think they survive on subscription money. A little example, my mother uses close to 10k per month on airtel(big family, organises field research) and the only thing she uses the internet on her phone for is WhatsApp. There are a lot of people like that out there, so airtel will get by just fine without our monthly 2k.

Can't help laugh @ those people predicting doom for airtel. So you guys are arrogant enough to think your data money keeps them running.

PhonesRe: What Will You Miss About Blackberry by winteriscoming: 8:38pm On Dec 03, 2013
It's funny how people can be hypocritical when they are comparing their favourite devices. The BlackBerry people are shouting you have Tecno. The Android people are shouting you have curve.

rudedough: I'll advice you to stick to a less complex debate like football next time. I'm not an IT professional but I've read so much on mobile security to ascertain my conclusion that Blackberry offers more flexibility and security than any other platform.

You're probably in Nigeria so i don't expect you to work or run an enterprise server on your smart phone. Like yourself, most Nigerians bought their blackberry devices for the social status, and not for work.

Have you used a Blackberry device professionally before?
Did you have an Enterprise server running on your phone?

Have you heard of S/MIME?
Blackberry protect?
Blackberry Safeguard?
Blackberry Balance?
Blackberry Malware Prevention?
Do you know that there's NO ROOT ACCESS to Blackberry devices? 99% hackers proof
And it is Encrypted with a 256-bit key?

Does Android offer all these as standard security features?

Like i said, stick to a less complex debate next time. Blackberry is not an open-source platform like Android and iOS, they are very security conscious and that's why it's a PROsumer device, not a gaming or entertainment device.

All this is true. Blackberry is baba in security. The BlackBerry hate in this country is as a result of A large number of people not using the device for the above listed. They made it a status thing and those who had no interest in using a BB because they new they would not use it for all the above were marginalised.

eseosa77: With this I now know that android users are inate liars.if u hate bb y are u using BIS on android phones?,secondly If u don't miss blackberry y are u all ranting here to protest the stopage of BIS on andoid phones?.suffering and smilling
Your answer is in your post. I wouldn't say 'hate' but I certainly never liked bb devices. If the smartphone plans were as lucrative as the BB plans I'll be using them. But they're not and I'll be damned if I see a good bis plan that works on my DROID but I decide to go for ridiculously priced smartphone plans just because I don't like BB.
My dislike is not saving me money. Nuff said.

rman: Android is not a phone but OS.

If you really want to compare. Compare BlackBerry's best, the Z30. With android's best Samsung galaxy S4, they are both equally matched.
S4 is not Samsung's best. The note 3 is.
Camera : note 3
RAM : note 3
Display : note 3 (higher resolution and pixel density)
CPU: note 3
Graphics : note 3
Storage: note 3
Battery; note 3

Cmfrt001: you can go back if you want to ooo the school gates are not shut but one thing is for sure that lecturers ain't gonna lecture. Why? Because, their demands have not been met. You can imagine you going to Dubai for shopping then after 2weeks, you return with nothing to show for it, perhaps even worst than you left the country. That is exactly what you guys want ASSU to end up doing. I mean, it will do us more harm than good if they call-off now and maybe in January or February next year they embark on another strike for the same course. It won't make any sense. So it is better to fight ones and for all. Moreover, I am tired of sitting on the floor during lectures. FG we need facilities or else, there will be no education in Nigeria and that will only means that the state is a failure.
You definitely made sense. About that sitting on the floor thing, me too I'm tired. I attend the supposed top university in Nigeria and last semester there were about a 1000 students from different faculties and departments taking a particular 4 unit course. We were expected to take lectures in a 500 capacity Hall. Ironically when we wrote the exam we used 8 halls. Where the f**k were those halls when we were taking lectures and people had to sit on the floor or stand in the back because they didn't arrive 30 minutes beforehand.

I will pay between 300 and 500. If the movie has very good reviews. I will not pay online tough unless some level of trust is built. Nope I will not follow the industry on social media ; no time.

"Apparent coincidence"! This, most times occur without our consent nor permission.
They are those "Wills", we mortals can't determine.

Do you mean to tell me that the Minister under imminent threat to her life, has no discretion to
purchase that which shall be for the protection of her life in the PPA?
What is indiscretion about purchasing a bullet proof car to safe guard her life from a bunch of "cruel retrograde"...
I would think as a minister of Nigeria if your life was under threat you would call on the SSS for protection.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Security_Service_(Nigeria)

Or call on the president to endow you with some of his security. he could probably spare 3 to 4 guards.

Rather than ALLEGEDLY use public funds
PoliticsRe: Gunmen Fired Shots At Oduah's Car In Abuja by winteriscoming: 6:56pm On Nov 26, 2013
I think at the very least there are inconsistencies in this story. If the car is bullet proof how come metal objects in relation to the alleged shooting were found in the car.

And what do they mean by the metal objects not resembling bullets.
PoliticsRe: Biafran Zionist Movement Sends "500 Military Personel" To Israel To Train by winteriscoming: 5:49pm On Nov 26, 2013
It is one thing to train pilots it's another to give them planes. When I hear news that planes are being bought I will know it's time to port to Ghana.
PhonesRe: BlackBerry Q5 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2 by winteriscoming: 5:08pm On Nov 26, 2013
dgb4: hello phone gurus,
am about changing my BB torch 2 but am a little bit confused on the next phone to use.
am considering a Q5 or a samsung note 2.

with Q5;
i can easily transfer my contacts, messages calendars etc.
but sick of BB CYCEYG (carry your charger everywhere you go)

Samsung note 2,
am skeptical on screen-touch only phones.
will start adding new contacts etc.
not too familiar with the android world
however, i know i can adapt.

Considering a fairly used samsung note 2 for 40k and a new BB Q5 for 50k, which is more reasonable?
I need your opinions pls
Please direct me to this person selling note 2 for 40k. I'm not trying to sly you o. I just want to great the person.
