milesnorthman12:First list of all applicants that have received their confirmation letters will be sent on 19th Jan to Abuja and the list should be available from 21st with the consular. You don't need to wait for list to reach Abuja before you apply, records from Abuja indicated that 110 EMU applicants from Nigeria have been approved visas last week and will picked their visas from next week Friday. 35 applicants from METU already picked their visas. So apply as soon as you receive your confirmation letter of payment! |
taregs:The embassy officials should be around days before graduation at EMU. Kindly visit EMU international center to make inquiry for exact date the embassy officials will be around. |
milesnorthman12:You are welkom! |
milesnorthman12:Kindly check it via computer not mobile phone or use smart phone. I can not access my emails to send you and all details you need is attached here. |
milesnorthman12:Check the attached picture, you will find direct contact for what you need. Speak or email Akdeniz manager (Aisha hanam) direct and she will tell you what to do. Speak with Warwick coordinator(Mr John) directly and he will follow up and send you the details you need. Good luck!

Amosiye:It depends on your bank, some bank may transfer from your naira straight like First bank I heard used to do that. While most bank will want you to open dorm account to initiate such transaction. YOU can't use form A or X for this transaction as far as I know. Better still walk to your bank and show them your acceptance letter including the receiving bank details, they will advise you appropriately. Good luck! |
eddydestiny:The poster below you is right here: worry359:As a prospective graduate student, we dont have age limit provided you earned above 2.5?/4.0 CGPA. |
stoicism:Okay....but Students traveling to TRNC from Nigeria must apply for visa. We shall be sending the first list of names to Abuja on 19th Jan, 2015 for EMU applicants that have received the confirmation of payment. FOR METU Applicants, the list has been sent on Friday. So you can apply for visa appointments. |
stoicism:Kindly contact the Turkish embassy of your country |
Danishdavy:Go through my post via this link : https://www.nairaland.com/351402/north-cyprus/161 Is on page 161 of this thread... you will find the link to METU advert and you can go via the link or type METU NCC on google bar, it will land you in the page. |
effyzie01:Thats fine, i will love to hear more on how your work goes in that region. Really, if the Govt show interest in the remediation work, i think it will benefit the researcher a lot. Try to demonstrate the use of the adsorbent for them in Lab or small scale industry-type system. See what you can use the recovered Pb to do. You have to ensure that your adsorbent desorption capability and desorption rate is rapid and high that way you can spend less adsorbent and still remediate high capacity. May i ask, how do you intend to destroy underlying gases in the Landfill since your adsorbent may likely take only adsorbates like Pb, Cu etc not gases. |
effyzie01:Okay, around June i have conference in USA i shall meet the Bostwana researcher and discussed with him cos he is currently undergoing analytical training on spatial exploration and biogeochemical characterizations in Berkeley Lab Earth Sciences Division. The consultant argument was right, most of the medical wastes may contain toxic components that are recalcitrant. But am sure you can easily use the spent bottom ash very well. I have tried that very well in lab scale and i did the economics as well. With just 20gr bottom ash in Up-flow column system i was able to recover and treat copper infected industrial water....saved almost 65% cost using alternative and cost-benefit models. hmmmmm I used to know about the lead leach in Zamfara, i thought they have been able to clear that? There are lots of projects in Zamfara but i dont know how willing they like to execute them. |
effyzie01:Yes the Geo-statistical simulation and modeling will help a lot for spatial data exploration and surface generation. Unfortunately, our climatic and geochemical features differs although is adaptable work. Am working in the Mediterranean region and those particular studies are designed for Turkey and North Cyprus region. There is a researcher in Bostwana working on goldmine and copper deposit that i met in California recently that hopes to work on " optimization and modeling of natural attenuation parameters of leachates from landfill in Bostwana" ..i feel you guys work wiill be very close due to similar geoclimatic conditions. Which mechanisms by which landfill leachate is attenuated by soil are you conversant with? .....(adsorption, biological action, ion-exchange reactions, dilution, filtration, and precipitation reactions) The Medical Waste Bottom Ash: What will you do with it after spent? Do you know you can use it as adsorbent again for heavy metal remediation? |
effyzie01:That is great to hear about this. Wow environmental chem is actually a great area. I have extensive knowledge of that and i have developed robust system for single to multiple stage treatment of industrial water, hospital wastewater, emerging pollutants like antibiotics, phenolic compounds like p-nitrophenol etc. You may try Chicken Eggshell/duck eggshells as Heterogeneous catalyst... Your bioethanol: How do you classify it? is it Ethanol or methanol? cos with Ethanol, you will get low product yield due to the chain conformation...methanol is perfect! I have a recently submitted works on the following and how does that relate to your region: 1. Geostatistical modeling and fractal simulation for mineral resource classification in Landfill sites 2. Evaluation and Characterization of vertical distribution of geochemical data in samsun gold deposit using fractal models |
elemic:Yes there is hope for Technicians in Nigeria if only they can be more creative, innovative and have seal to excel. I was baffled exactly 3yrs ago i visited China, Honkong and Taiwan searching for machines for my factory in Nigeria. Anytime i visit those places i always learn new things. I needed to buy automatic biscuit making machine and vegetable oil complete line, when i visited the factory that charged me over 10mill to get these machines, i was surprised that they hardly speak English and what they produce many people from different countries order the products. I asked the design and production Engineer about what he studied..he laughed and told me he is not an Engineer but technician and he does not attend any university but learn Welding and design from his boss whom happened to be uneducated like himself but there products are worldwide. Likewise almost 50 guys working there are not Engineer but technicians. Before i purchased the machines, i sent my manager the pics and asked to confirm from Nigerian local technicians if the price can be cheaper or to reduce the stress of importing parts. Actually they sent me Vegetable oil production machine but i can not compare in terms of look, technicalities or performance even is more cheaper. So Creativity, innovation and research..... |
Kencool2:You can try that.... What program are you apply for? |
Danishdavy:All program in METU NCC are taught in English. The deadline is Jan 10. |
agabaI23:Hey, No i can't cos the document does not exist on that link you posted. Also, I can only get research articles under my subscription alone not outside...so when you need articles in almost all Elsevier, Springer, Taylor journals etc then i may help. |
Brainpower365:You can obtain vaccination card from Any reputable hospital after you have been vaccinated. If the Govt. Hospitals are on strike, the private wont go on strike. I am reading about National ID for the first time from you. The past applicants have not been asked even as of last semester. So it may be new requirement..... |
scholag:You may look into these and see how you can adapt it to your area: 1. Rural People’s Reliance on Non-Forests and Forest Environment in Africa: Nigeria as a case study 2. Socio-economic parameters on household bio-based energy consumption and energy substitution in rural area 3. Under-investment in agricultural assets and dynamic asset poverty in rural area of Africa 4. Poverty, poor growth and inequality in rural Africa: Economic perspectives |
scholag:Do you want to continue same field in your PhD? if yes, i will suggest you are more specific on the parameters you checked about the welfare and seems to me the thesis is more of national value. Try to adapt it to international value cos if you want fellowship abroad, you must be able to convince the awarding organization how your work will be of value international wise. Suggest PhD area and let it be more modern and practical, then other suggestions will flow. |
scholag:It's nice to hear you are doing great. There are possibilities to find scholarship/fellowship abroad and it depends on your academic status. Try to answer the following questions and then I can suggest links. 1. Have you published any articles, attend standard conference/s which your work/s were published? 2. Is your MSc thesis of national or international value? 3. Kindly state your thesis title. 4. Which area will you like to pursue your PhD and what do you hope to achieve or problem you hope to solve ? 5. What technical skills do you possess? Are you good at mathematical modelings ( statistical optimization of economic models, simulation of Econ models for prediction)? These will help you to fine tune your direction and these are some of the features of PhD students or PhD candidates. |
pricelessmr:You can PM me regarding the research. |
Theyjih:Okay Jatropha is a good source cos is rugged and oil content within the seeds is high compared to the rapeseed normally used in Europe. Since its a ranch, if you guys have cattle there, then they don't need to buy alcohol (methanol) as solvent for the biodiesel production, they can produce from the animal dung. Also, the Glycerin obtain after biofuel production is also of high commercial value. |
Theyjih:Waow biodiesel is great. I produced that from waste fruits seeds, peels, waste vegetables and plant materials. Is actually easy stuff to do...we still have tested samples we produced. Do they use it in Nigeria now at commercial level? If you have great passion for it...you can tell me what raw materials you have abundant you want to use....I will tell you parameters to check and then you start that. Do you know you can produce it from used/waste cooking oil? I did and also instead of using NaOH an homogeneous catalyst..i decided to produce my own catalyst from Eggshell waste and used it as heterogeneous catalyst. You can produce the methanol you need for the conversion from cattle dung as well. |
Do we have any researcher working on Nanomaterials for bio-medical, bio-environmental applications here? Let discuss. We have opened position for researcher in this field mainly in the framework of the EU project NanoDefine. You may Google it to read more. |
Theyjih:Thanks a lot, are you working or doing any research in this field? if yes let me know..... |
ahamdiheme:Pls try the MIT-SIN thing is very great. I spent one month in the facility of Singapore-MIT alliance village, I must confess you will never get bored with research and their pay is fantastic. From my little discussion with guys there, most of the postdocs are converted to full-time and you know is 12 months in Sin and 12 months in MIT cos is mostly 24 months stuff. Yeah I will let you know when I am around in Sabanci, I am using their facilities and there are about 6 guys also from MIT in Sabanci and one of them was in my Msc Jury then. |
ahamdiheme:Boss, Leave that boy....is NIPAM or SDS working! I have met some guys from MIT during my last visit to Singapore early this year. There is a joint fellowship for 100 positions yearly. You may consider that as well cos the progression is great. Do not hesitate to let me know when all is set..i have a friend currently doing her MIT-SIN postdoc also in your region. I will buzz you also when i come around to your end cos i have stuff doing with Sabanci next yr..... |
Javanian:Prof SC Chiemeke has more Open access works and less of SCIE/SCI researches...and E.A Onibere has more of proceedings indexed under CCY. However, check your email i have sent you their full text of their works (PDF) and also links to some of OA of SC cheimeke. Good luck! |
Javanian:If the research is published in international journals and you know the full name of the author or title of the article..then you can state it here. I have full subscription to most journals (85%) and i can get the full text for you and email you downloaded copy free! |
emahnwel:Surely you will love AI cos is interesting. Even many students or researcher have enjoyed the output from AI. During the recent Honk Kong protest, when the government of HK switched off mobile/internet communication, the smart guys made use of AI to communicate via Bluetooth in-pair fuzzy networks.....Therefore, AI is used or implemented during crisis where there is no functional networks. |
