Sapasenator:Exactly! That's why a society that's gets high on religion simultaneously also gets high on hard drugs like cocaine, marijuana, codine, etc. Eg highly religious South American countries are the headquarters of hard drug. Even Taliban ruled Afghanistan is the epicentre of cocaine trade and use in Asia. Meanwhile, less religious countries like China have little drug problems. |
David0002:Imagine working or learning a skill fervently for 3 to 4 hours everyday, I am sure you will be a millionaire not just in Naira but also in dollars by now. As the saying goes "Two hands working can do more work than a thousand clasp in prayer" and speaking in tongues. Anyway, all is about Oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin. These are happy or feel good hormones released into the brain when you undertake certain actions or consume certain substances. Some people release these happy hormones by dancing and night clubbing, others use psychotic substances like cannabis or alcohol to get happy or high, others still use meditation, prayer or trance to get their dose of happy hormones. The problem with all these is that these methods of getting happy and high are very addictive and once you are hooked, you always long to get high again. Then on waking up you hit your low, and then the need to get high once again. In all these your situation or condition the same or even worse. |
bemeruca:Even though I doubted the assassination when the news first broke, I rushed to make my doubts known. I don't Trust anything coming from Trump. With more information coming out, I then lean toward believing it was an actual assassination attempt. I recant my initial stance and admitted my error. But there is now the nagging question of fatal failures on the part of the Police and secret service. Why did the US security services fail so woefully? Was in deliberate or a failure. In todays America, is it so easy to shoot a presidential candidate or any other high profile politician? We await the full investigations. Most of the things you will hear about trump as lies the media wants you to believe. Your I don't trust trump is based on he is not a Democrat. You won't trust DeSantis or Jesus if he was the Republican flag carrierI have hated Trump since the 1990s. I was introduced to Trump around 1995 by a very good friend. Even then my friend idolised Donald Trump. He gave me his book "the art of the deal" to read. I disagreed with his business philosophy. I followed him from that time till he ran for president. I even followed his then wife, late Ivanna Trump. She said some bad things about Trump and their marriage. Trump personality, morals and philosophies are opposite to mine. About hating Republicans, I was a fan of Ronald Reagan. I believe he espoused republican values than any republican alive today including Trump. |
Bystanders saw the shooter on the roof top with a rifle. The bystanders tried to call the attention of the police and even the secret service more than 5 minutes before the actual shooting, they simply ignored them. So doubting Thomases like us had basis to doubt the assassination attempt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG0qPDCWE9w?si=x_3jEQdwvgUl7Spo |
Laurene:You guys are despicable. You cannot take 5% of what you guys dish out. If it was president Biden that was shut, you guys would spew numerous conspiracy theories and claim it was stage. I initially suspected this was a set up, but, with more information and even before investigations commence, I immediately changed my mind and accepted that Trump barely survived an assassination attempt. Till till today, you guys claim Nancy Pelosi's husband's attack was a set up or that it was some other shit other than an attack on his life. |
bemeruca:I watched the shooting scene from numerous angles and in slow motion. I can confirm it was indeed a real shot and the bullet did graze Trump's ears and hit the young woman behind. So apologies to Trump's supporters and MAGA. I am always suspicious of Trump. |

PDPGuy:I might be wrong probably because of my serious distrust for Trump, but this looks more like a set up to elicit sympathy for Trump among independents and fire up the base to a state of frenzy. I believe Trump is desperate to use any scheme and lies to win the presidency. Anyway let us all wait for the official police and secret service reports before we make any judgement. |
bemeruca:How did they know the situation was under control that fast, when they were clueless enough to allow the shooter fire a few shots at the former president? How can they know how many shooters were involved? A truly professional assassination of such a high profile target would require at least 3 shooters for triangulation. |
vanitybutiwanti:I deliberately put the reference to Fubara being Ijaw to draw haters out of the woodwork. You hate Fubara because he cannot speak the Ijaw language abi? And you claim to be ijaw. How many Ijaws have been Governor of Rivers State since 1999? Then you want the first ijaw governor to be lame duck governor answerable to an ikwerre man. You and Wike will open mouth and claim you fought against Atiku because of fairness and equity in power distribution. Hypocrites. You don't seem to understand the game of thrones. You use whatever advantage or tool you can get to obtain power, once you obtain power, you become powerful enough to discard anyone that antagonise you. Tinubu is a perfect master in the game of thrones. He used key northerners like El Rufai to obtain power from the northerners, once he got that power he discarded them like used sanitary pads. Who created the crisis that broke out and why? Can you as an Ijaw man that you claim allow your powers as an executive governor to be usurped by another person? Can you allow all your cabinet members and aids to be appointed by another person without your approval? Can you allow the state resources captured by another person, meanwhile if the administration fails, your name will be called. |
vanitybutiwanti:What do you mean return the house the way he met it? You mean he should just agree to be sitting duck for wike and his 27 goons. What do you mean by peaceful family? Peaceful family that wants a whole governor to become houseboy to Wike? Peaceful family that threatened to impeach the governor barely 6 months in office? Fubara is an Ijaw man, and the Ijaws are not known to cower before anyone. |
Charly68:My own suggestion is that Fubara should damn the consequences and exert his full authority as the chief executive of River's state. As the saying goes a coward dies a thousand times, the brave only dies once. If Wike can impeach him so be it, but Fubara would stand tall with his dignity intact. He will not be the first to be impeached and would not be the last. Tinubu got the fame and power he command today by being brave and fearless to confront federal power when other Southwest governors cowered to Obasanjo. |
Charly68:What do you suggest Fubara do in order to prevent a state of anarchy in Rivers? Hand over executive powers to Wike, or you expect him to allow wike appoint all his commissioners and aids including his girlfriend or olosho? Wike is not the first governor of Rivers State and he is not the first godfather in Nigerian politics, but wike threatening anarchy in a state he was a governor is tantamount to terrorism. |
weyreypey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFHyKgBbLmI?feature=shared Wike and his supporters are shameless. They have zero integrity and honour. |
weyreypey:If he does not hit Wike and his 27 goons hard, there is no way of avoiding impeachment. He cannot afford to allow the 27 Wike goons take control of the house. Wike is only relying on federal might. |
adioolayi:Now according to your argument of representing the budget, if Fubara is impeached and a new government is sworn in, then the impeachment is later declared illegal by the supreme court, will all budgets presented by the government during the illegal impeach be represented? Or if a government is sworn in after a rigged elections and the courts later declares another candidate governor, will all previous official decisions carried out by the illegal government be reversed? |
VinnyBaba:That is somebody's daddy or even granddaddy for god sake. To make matters worse, he is a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is dressing like a teenager who just hit some cash and need to showoff. The only thing missing is bling-bling and we will mistake him for a rapper.

I must be the ignorant one here. I had thought that to create additional states in Nigeria requires constitutional amendment and not just an act of the national assembly. Can lawyers in the house please educate me. |
Tranquillity360:IPOB youth are the dumbest people in the universe. Even in the face of visible evidence they continue to promote lies and propaganda without even bothering to provide a shred of evidence. I will overwhelm them with more evidence. Even if they choose to continue spewing their lies, no one will take them serious. For IPOB information, Calabar prison was a federal prison. Awolowo, Enahoro and others were jailed for Treason, which is a federal crime. Here are more physical evidence of newspaper reports on the day Gowon Released Awolowo from Calabar prison. The first screenshot is a newspaper report from Newyork Times. The second is an enlarged part of the Newyork Times report highlighting that Gowon released Awolowo. The third one is the actual Gazette of the pardon of Awolowo, Enahoro and others by General Gowon. Oya, provide your own proof of Ojukwu releasing Awolowo.
|
Tranquillity360:You IPOB youths create most of the problems for reasonable igbo people. You guys spew baseless propaganda up and down. Lies that a simple Google or YouTube search can debunk. There are videos and reports of Awolowo's release by General Gowon on the internet even here on nairaland, but you guys love repeating the lies that It was Ojukwu that release Awolowo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMNa4671Yuw?si=ufpWRhSVYXrHcjjw https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/191679-why-i-released-awolowo-from-prison-gowon.html?tztc=1 |
aywagze:But they were supposed to be representatives of the Nigerian peoples. It is now obvious members of the national assembly go to the Senate and house to represent themselves. They want to provide health care for themselves and not the Nigerian people. |
bmaster2000:You fail to address Mrvitalis concerns of the number of passengers that is expected to us the proposed international airport. How many passengers use even the lagos international airport yearly? How many Nigerians travel out and how many Nigerians come into Nigerians through the airports? Airports should not be a pride contest but a commercial venture. Airports are very expensive to build (particularly in this part of the world) and maintain. All our airports presently are poorly maintained, with no power, poor baggage handling, bad runways and faulty and archaic air traffic equipment, and you want to add more. Are any of our airports operating at a profit, aside the Lagos Local airport? How do you intend to repay the loan that will be uses to build the airport? |
mrvitalis:Imagine building another airport that will be less than 150 km from Lagos airport that is even under utilised. Would a fast train from the airport linking the rail line along the Oshodi axis straight to Ibadan not be a more sensible option? Maybe we should be building an international airport every 150km. |
Biodun556:That is if the act is contrary to the provisions of the constitution. Is the act nullifying the act previously enacted by Kano state House of Assembly against the Nigerian constitution? |
Samtob90:In Nigeria a driver or gate man can harrass a governor, all he needs us Federal Might. That's was why an ordinary citizen, Chris Uba, could orchestrate the kidnap of a sitting governor, that was why wike could harrass Amaechi with the police as sitting governor, that was why Sanusi was removed and banished despite a pending court order, and is why Ado Bayero is walking the streets of Kano with military escort, after being dethroned and banished by the Kano State government. |
Truth be told, I support Trump deporting most Nigerians from the US, particularly those that have held political offices along with their family. Nigerians politicians have the mindset that they can mess up the country and japa to the US with their loot to live a peaceful life. |
Chiefpriestt:Which leadership? How many people has he led in the past? Has he led his wife, children and extended family? How many subordinates or staff that worked under him think he is a leader? Trump is just an open outlet for poor or poorly educated white men to vent their anger those they feel is responsible for their sorry state. Republicans seeking to run for election support Trump in order to get nomination on the platformof the party. |
flyinnizam:The problem with that is price is not static in Nigeria. Price change per week, sometimes per day, depending on season, availability and lots of other extraneous factors. Even the way you dress, the way you talk and the car you drive might determine price. |
natedensel:My own case is the opposite, my wife begs me to accompany her to market because I sabi price pass her. Something she go buy for 5k, me I fit buy am for 4k or even 3.5k. Me wey don dey follow my mama go market since 12 na him go dey shame to price for market? Even so now wey na mine hard earned money? |
EmmyMaestro:How many times God provided manna in the bible? Is it because Nigerians are waiting for God to provide manna that they waste most of their productive lives in church praying and fasting? |
Pootle:It was not a penalty. Although I believe the referee could be mistaken due to his vantage point. If VAR was uses it would have been more obvious. If you play the video in slow motion, you will see that the attacker went down easily even before the sleeve of his shirt was tugged. It was more of diving than a penalty. |
piehorse:Don't mind them, they are just tools for propagating the false doctrine of "salvation according tithes and offerings " by con men disgusting as men of God. Below is a chart of the average income of the various religious groups in the US. The richest group are the Jews, followed by the Hindus. Atheists are fifth in the chart? What does that tell you?, that salvation according tithes and offerings is false and without any data to back it up.
