Romance / Sex Secrets Of Nigerian Wife In The US Uploaded To Youtube by Wisdytech(m): 7:09am On Jan 25, 2015

When the video was shown to the husband, his initial reaction was to dismiss the whole scene as a concocted fairy-tale- a sick joke that his haters had pulled, to embarrass and diminish him. How could his wife who had given him four beautiful kids and was there for him as ‘the rock of Gibraltar’ be caught in such a lurid act? His wife was a respected member of the Nigerian community in Maryland, United States and was the hardworking and successful manager of nurses in a reputable Washington DC hospital.

But what he didn’t understand was that the video he was being shown had already gone viral and practically every member of the Nigerian community spread all over the continental United States had viewed it several times and were all shocked and filled with righteous indignation over such an embarrassing conduct by an otherwise happily married woman.

The video, recorded by a sick and depraved lover of the Nigerian-American nurse, had shown the woman, her face clearly in view and well defined, in various stages of intimacy and to imagine a husband looking at the video of his wife in intimate moments with another man and having the same video seen by millions of people was too much for him to handle. He was seized by a paroxysm of anger and dread and went into shock.

The wife, too, having known that the jig was up, was said to have also become suicidal and had to be kept for observation in hospital with the possibility of losing all that she had worked for in the United States- her marriage, her career and her children’s love and adoration, simply because she had allowed fleeting sexual emotions to dominate her thought process.

According to sources, the lady, whose names are withheld here, was seemingly happily married and the union had been blessed with four children. The husband, also names withheld, was said to be very proud and supportive of his wife’s spirit of industry and enterprise and both had led a seemingly happy marital life. However, unknown to the man, the wife was engaged in a torrid affair with an African- American male janitor at the hospital (the janitorial angle is what really offended a lot of the Nigerian community who had seen the video) where she works.

The affair was said to have gone on for years and both had done a great job concealing their romantic involvement. However, the African – American lover was said to have felt betrayed by a promise made, which was not fulfilled by the married mother of four and he decided to blackmail her, with an invitation to their regular rendezvous.

Unknown to the lady, the act for the day was fully recorded and, still unable to fulfill her promise and not yielding to the blackmail, the incensed lover decided to upload the video on YouTube and what a feeding frenzy it generated by the Nigerian community in the U.S. The video was shared within minutes on Whatsapps and a major league embarrassment was created for the married mother of four.

Word within the Nigerian community in Maryland is that the woman is still undergoing observation at the hospital and her marriage is as good as done.

The above sad and unfortunate story illustrates the stress and strain that have bedeviled the institution of matrimony in the Diaspora. Husbands have killed their wives, wives have cheated on their husbands with reckless abandon, wives are challenging their husbands and assigning certain domestic chores to them, while men have abandoned the traditional roles of breadwinners and opted instead to be ‘kept men’ tending to the home front while the wife works.

Everywhere the aroma of matrimony emits putrid odor, the emotionally nourishing enterprise of matrimony has been turned into an enterprise laden by zero-sum machinations- wives openly plot their husbands failures while the husbands treat their wives with disdain and contempt. Some have lost their children through the cracks in American social structure. The kids have been denied love and nourishment since all they see around them is fight and incessant verbal and physical abuse.

How did we get to this junction where the divorces rates, physical and emotional abuse have become the defining features of the matrimony among Diapsorans? Next week, relying on two personal experiences, we will attempt to provide answers to the puzzle.

Celebrities / Nollywood: What Muna Obiekwe Would Be Remembered For by Wisdytech(m): 6:39pm On Jan 24, 2015
Source: http://brainnewsng.com/nollywood-what-muna-obiekwe-would-be-remembered-for/

By BENJAMIN NJOKU,

Since the sad news of his demise broke last Sunday, fans and colleagues of star actor, Muna Obiekwe, have continued to grieve over his loss, especially when they remember the actor’s daring roles in movies – those that will survive for a very long time. Muna, who has a knack for acting romantic scenes in movies was the quintessential character actor, and as such, a representative of a proudly, if sadly disappearing breed.

Until his death, the fair-skinned actor’s career suffered serious setback following the eye-sore roles he played in movies. Till date, people are still talking about the role he played in that soft-porn movie, “Dirty Secret”starring himself, Tonto Dikeh, Jibola Dabo, Geraldine Ejiogu, Ejine Okerefor, among other acts.

In the movie, Tonto Dikeh acted the role of a spoilt child, who sleeps with her father and her boyfriend. Her father, played by Jibola Dabo, was a gynandrous, who also sleeps with his daughter’s boyfriend played by Muna Obiekwe. When the movie was released, fans tongue-lashed the three major acts who played their roles like a smut movie.

As if that was not enough, Muna also featured in another sex movie, “Men in Love” where he played a gay role with Jibola Dabo. Their roles in that movie which was produced by Kingsley Okereke and directed by Moses Ebere, forced people to raise eyebrows over the personalities of Muna and Dabo.

It shocked a lot of fans to behold these two actors playing ‘smooching themselves’ in the movie where they allegedly had sex uncountable times, baring their butts with G-string panties they wore to the full glare of viewers, leaving the rest of the parts better imagined.

The film was harshly criticized after it was released. Many people alleged that it was popularizing the ideas of homosexuality in Nigeria. Yet, Muna was not discouraged. As noted by critics, until now, Muna’s acting career suffered a major setback and he needed a role that would not only fetch him good money but would also keep him in the news and make him relevant again on the scene, hence his controversial gay role in the sex movie.”

The actor, who had fallen on bad times basically because he was no longer getting major roles and also the fact that he was based in Enugu, relocated to Lagos, and reportedly acquired a house after his role in the movie. His enlarging profile, however, made him to become the most sought-after actor by producers who want to make sex movies. Though his role in “Men in Love” was not as daring as the one he played in “Dirty Secret.”

Notwithstanding the roles he played in the two movies which almost turned his fans against him, Muna’s work, both on and off the screen, touched millions and influenced countless people. He also played brilliant roles in other movies. He starred in such movies as “Songs of Sorrow”, “Wasted Effort”, “My Best Friend”, “The Phobia”, “Scarlet Woman”, “Not Man Enough”, “He Lives In Me”, “Golden Jewels’, “Destiny Call” among others.

A prolfic character actor, and compassionate human, Muna would be remembered most for his legacy, and the joy he brought to many homes in Africa. His range of roles proved him to be one of the most versatile actors in Nollywood, one that few could match.

According to veteran filmmaker, Zeb Ejiro, Muna would be remembered as a character actor. “He was one of the best actors in Nollywood. I have not worked with him, but most of his movies which I have seen are excellent. I respect character actors a lot and he was one of them.” For Nobert Ajaegbu, Muna would be remembered as one of the most respectful actors in Nollywood. “Everybody in Nollywood is going to miss him.”

Decribing the actor as “a very brilliant actor that took his job very seriously, actress Thelma Omone O’khaz said the departed actor would be remembered apart from being friendly and jovial, but also as one actor that wasn’t stereotyped and that’s one thing I really loved about him. Also, he would be remembered for ‘his fine diction and interpretation of scripts.’

“He was a quiet person. Hardly have I heard that he had a problem with anybody. I have worked with me in the past, and what I discovered about him is that he was a shy person, but he tried to cover up his shyness,” said actor Ofiafuluagu Mbaka.

Politics / Hoodlums Snatch 4,503 Permanent Voter Cards (pvcs) In Akwa Ibom by Wisdytech(m): 5:04pm On Jan 14, 2015
Source: http://brainnewsng.com/hoodlums-snatch-4503-permanent-voter-cards-pvcs-in-akwa-ibom/

The Independent National Electoral Commission has lost 4,503 Permanent Voter Cards to hoodlums in five local government areas of Akwa Ibom State, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Austin Okojie, has said.

Of the 4,503 PVCs snatched, Abak LGA lost 664; Ikono, 96; Mkpat Enin, 208; Oruk Anam, 2333; and Ukanafun, 1202 to hoodlums.

Okojie, who addressed traditional rulers during a state summit on peaceful conduct of 2015 elections in Uyo on Tuesday, revealed that 1,468,780 permanent voter cards were sent to the state.

“We had a security issue where a total of 4,503 of the permanent voter cards were snatched during the exercise in five local government areas of Akwa Ibom State,” he said.

Presenting status of the PVC distribution, he stated that 1,177,910, representing 80% of PVCs have been distributed, leaving a balance of 284,915 to be claimed.

Okojie urged the traditional rulers in the state to ensure free, fair, peaceful and credible elections by using their positions to appeal to members of their communities to go for their cards between now and the next four weeks to enable them exercise their voting rights during the forthcoming elections.

The commissioner, however, said that with the introduction of card readers to authenticate real owners of each voting card, no snatched card will be useful during the elections as defaulters would be screened out of the exercise.

Celebrities / Omotola Jalade Makes Yahoo’s List Of World Movie Stars by Wisdytech(m): 4:55pm On Jan 14, 2015

Nollywood star actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has once again added a big feather to her crown, with Yahoo, a famed search engine, naming her among the highest-grossing movie stars you may never have heard of.

The site described Omosexy, as she is fondly called, as Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian rolled into one.

According to Yahoo writers, “… Not only have you not heard of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde – or ‘Omosexy’ as her fans call her – but we reckon you probably haven’t even heard of the industry she spearheads: Nollywood. Yes, that’s Nigeria’s version of Hollywood, in which Omosexy dominates – she has over 300 film credits to her name (although most go straight to video). In her homeland she’s like a cross between Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian, with her own reality TV series following her and her family. Though it’s nigh on impossible to determine what her box-office total is, given that the Nigerian film industry is mostly one that distributes through market stalls and street corners, it is estimated to be worth upwards of £320 million a year – and Omosexy is a Nollywood cornerstone.”

This mention is another worldwide recognition of Omotola as the undisputed queen of Nollywood, following her earlier mention in TIME magazine’s One Hundred Most Influential People In The World.

The actress broke into Nollywood as a teenager over a decade and half ago, delivering in over 300 movies. She has also experimented with music, with two albums to her credit. She is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, mother and wife.

Nairaland / General / Nightmare In Akwa Ibom: One Dead, 60 Houses Razed As Friends Fight Over Girl by Wisdytech(m): 4:12pm On Jan 14, 2015
Nightmare in Akwa Ibom: One dead, 60 houses razed as friends fight over girlfriend:

One person was killed, 60 houses razed and over 400 persons rendered homeless in a disgraceful inter-communal crisis that broke out, weekend, between youths of Ikot Umiang and Ikot Edah communities, Nkpat Enin Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

Niger Delta Voice learned that the fracas that caused extensive havoc to the residences of the Village Head of Ikot Edah, Ete Idung Sunday Usoro, and councillor representing Ikpa Ikono, Ward 2, Mr. Nkreuwem James, was kindled by a dispute between two boys from both communities over a girlfriend.

Besides property running into millions of naira and money that were looted, about 40 motorcycles, bicycles and ancestral heritages were torched. Two cars belonging to the monarch were also destroyed.
A dependable source told Niger Delta Voice: “A young man, who hails from Ikot Umiang and residing in Ikot Edah had a minor misunderstanding with his friend, an indigene of Ikot Edah, over a lady both of them had dated previously.

“What really transpired between them is not clear. But it was so serious that in the evening of the following day, when the Ikot Umiang boy was passing through Ikot Edah after his normal business, the Ikot Edah-based lover boy and his gang waylaid and stabbed him to death.”

Revenge
In an apparent reprisal attack, youths of Ikot Umiang invaded Ikot Edah at about 8a.m with guns, machetes, axes, fuel and other dangerous weapons, burning all the houses in the community.
The invaders manhandled aged people, especially the women who tried to plead with them.

Our source said inhabitants of the community, mainly peasant farmers and traders, were setting out for their farms and shops on the ill-fated day, when the invaders stormed the town.

A villager, Aniete Bradforth, said: “The Ikot Umiang youths came in like soldier ants with guns, petrol and matches and before we knew what was happening, this house (pointing to a residence) was on fire.

“They beat up a 90-year-old woman, who lives here, leaving her with injuries all over her body.”

The village head, Usoro, said: “I watched my house set ablaze with N2 million cash inside.”

Usoro said he was on his way to the Police Station to lodge a report that a corpse was abandoned in the community when armed youths of Ikot Umiang invaded Ikot Edah.

He said the attacking youths were armed, but that police were able to make some arrests.

A fish seller, who is in her 60s, Mmayen Bassey, bemoaned: “I have been keeping money in my wrapper for over 10 years to buy a piece of land. It has amounted to over N200,000. Today, I am as good as dead as they all got burnt; not even to talk about my goods.”

Niger Delta Voice observed during a visit that the houses in Ikot Edah were completely razed. There was uneasy calm in the community as victims wailed and called on government and public-spirited individuals to come to their assistance.

Ikot Umiang deserted
At Ikot Umiang, it was discovered that the community had been deserted by villagers for fear of possible arrest by the police, while economic activities and social life in the town have been paralyzed.

Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government, Mr. Eph-raim Akpan and Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in-charge of the area, CSP Abri, rushed to the community as soon as report of the incident reached them, to ascertain the cause of the fracas and extent of damage.

They were accompanied by Mr. James, Deputy Leader of the council’s legislature, Ekaette Akpan, Chief Whip, Mr.Isaac Akpan, councillors for Ibiaku, ward 2, Mr. Ini George and ward 4, Mr. Michael Daniel.

For over five hours, they trudged through the ruins of the devastation with the chairman practically weeping.

Council boss sues for peace
Mr. Akpan cautioned the warring parties to maintain calm, while security agents carried out investigations into the matter with a view to bringing the guilty to book.

The council boss, who described the situation as heart-breaking and sorrowful, however, assured that no culprit would escape the wrath of the law.

He said: “There is no situation that would warrant this barbaric act at the beginning of the year. This is heart breaking and I cannot hold back tears. But as I said, there is no point retaliating as the police, who have done very well already, will investigate the matter and bring all the culprits to book.

“On our part as a government, the council will ameliorate the situation and as a matter of fact, 12 hours from now, we will assemble all villagers of this community and give them some relief materials.

“It is pathetic that the only property of these people now have are the clothes on their body, but we will do our best.”
He said a committee would be set up to evaluate the mayhem and come up with intermediary measures to cushion the sufferings of the affected persons.

Over 25 suspects nabbed
A police officer said police were making plans to evacuate the remains of the Ikot Umiang youth that was killed in Ikot Edah, adding that about 25 persons have been arrested in connection with the crisis.

He disclosed that the arrested suspects were handed over to men of the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Uyo.

Politics / Jonathan Promises 2million Jobs Annually If Re-elected by Wisdytech(m): 7:26am On Jan 13, 2015

President Goodluck Jonathan has promised two million jobs yearly if re-elected into office.

Mr. Jonathan spoke Monday in Ibadan, Oyo State, were he met supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the February 14 election.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, quoted the president as saying he will generate jobs for the teeming unemployed population in Nigeria.

He did not say how that will happen, after largely failing to provide as many jobs in the last six years as president.

Besides corruption and insecurity, the Jonathan administration is persistently criticised over the huge unemployed population in the country.

The government has always pointed to its Small and Medium Scale support programme, Youwin, which gives grants to only 1,200 people yearly.

The government says the programme has engaged hundreds of thousands, a figure that has been questioned.

The government has also failed to defend its claim that it created 1.6 million jobs in 2013.

At the Ibadan campaign, Mr. Jonathan also lauded South-West leaders for promoting equity, human rights, saying he will continue to respect and work with people from the zone.

The president also said the votes of Nigerian women will either liberate or sanction them to the kitchen, urging women to vote for PDP.

Sports / “keshi Does Not Like Me” – Obafemi Martins by Wisdytech(m): 6:57am On Jan 13, 2015

Obafemi Martins has claimed that Stephen Keshi does not like him and that is why he is left out of the national team.

The Seattle Sounders striker enjoyed a tremendous season with the Major League Soccer team, scoring 17 times and getting nominated for the Most Valuable Player prize.

Despite his fine form, Martins was dropped from Nigeria’s squad to the 2014 World Cup and has played only twice under Keshi.

“I don’t think [Keshi] likes me, that’s all. I don’t have any issues with him,” Martins told media when asked about his relationship with the coach who is yet to have his contract renewed.

“I respect him as a coach but I think Keshi doesn’t like me.”

Martins has since retired from international football, after scoring 18 times in 39 appearances for his country.

Celebrities / Court Stops Distribution Of Cynthia Morgan’s Song by Wisdytech(m): 1:09pm On Jan 10, 2015

The new song, Popori, by Northside Entertainment signee, Cynthia Morgan, is at the moment experiencing a hitch, as a Federal High Court has passed an injunction restraining the airplay and distribution of the song on account of copyrighted title.

The judgement which was delivered on December 29, 2014, was the outcome of suit no: FHC/L/CS/1987/14, wherein another songstress, Queen Ure claimed the former infringed on the copyright of her earlier song titled Porpori.

Going by the title of the songs which sound alike, the court reasoned that Morgan, an artiste under Jude Okoye’s label, cannot continue with that title, as it amounted to passoff.

It therefore ruled that Northside Entertainment Ltd and all other agents, including promoters, Disc Jockeys, radio stations, TV stations and bloggers among others, should desist from further publishing and distributing to the public, the music track/single/album titled Popori by Morgan.

Further on that, the court, among other things has empowered Ure to sue anyone in the business of recording, publishing or distributing the said work.

Ure’s first video which was released in November 2012, was titled Porpori, so was her 15-track album launched on December 29, 2012. She later released another video in March 2014, titled Porpori Dance alongside other singles and videos.

According to Ure, the sound recording of all works were registered with the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), for which a copyright certificate was issued to her in March 2013.

Morgan’s version, which the court has asked her to relinguish, was released in November 2014, a year after Ure got certificate for her sound recordings.

Speaking on this development, Ure said the reason she went to court was to preserve and protect her intellectual property as well as her contribution to the music industry. She noted that by so doing, artistes will begin to respect each others’ works and will also begin to appreciate the act of registering their works, and protected them from infringement.

Romance / Do Men Prefer Women With Natural Looks Or Those With Makeup? by Wisdytech(m): 12:43pm On Jan 10, 2015
See more: http://brainnewsng.com/do-men-prefer-women-with-natural-looks-or-those-with-makeup/

Do Nigerian men prefer women with natural looks or are they thrilled by and want their women to apply makeup to enhance their beauty?

Correspondents of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) conducted vox pop on Friday in Abuja to seek the views of a cross section of men on this interesting topic.

Mr. Issac Mbah, a sales rep at a business cafe located in Area 10 Shopping Centre, said he does not have problem with his woman using makeup to enhance her beauty.

“I do not have problem with my woman choosing to wear makeup. If that is what she desires then it is okay with me,” he said.

Mr. Samuel Ikedebe, the owner of provisions store in Area 10 Shopping Centre, said he does not care about makeup.

“If my woman prefers her natural look, I am okay with it and if she likes makeup, I don’t have a problem with that,’’ he said.

On her part, Miss Cynthia Okonkwo, a makeup artist said she loves applying makeup.

“I am in love with makeup and I do not expect my man to tell me he prefers the natural look because it will cause a huge issue in our relationship.

“We women are generally drawn to applying makeup no matter how little. Therefore the option of being natural will be difficult for us,’’ she said.

Miss. Tolulope Adetayo, a student of University of Abuja told NAN that her boyfriend does not care if she applies makeup or go with her natural look.

“Honestly, my man does not care if I apply makeup or not.

“If we are going out, I apply a little makeup to ensure I look good; if makeup would help me look good, then why not,” she said.

Mr. Johnson Benson, a typist at Area 10 Shopping Centre, said he prefers his woman to be natural, adding that he does not like makeup.

“I love my woman to be natural because I do not like makeup generally,” he said.

Sports / Messi Is World’s Most Expensive Footballer by Wisdytech(m): 12:06pm On Jan 10, 2015
The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) has published the 120 most expensive footballers in the world based on their current market values.

In order to qualify to make the list, the footballer must be plying his trade in one of the top five leagues in Europe – Spain, England, France, Germany and Italy, sl10.ng reports.

Regrettably, no Nigerian player was mentioned by the Switzerland – based organization, though the likes of Mikel, Onazi, Ujah, Enyeama and Ikechukwu Uche ply their trade in the prestigious championships.

The only consolation is that Bayern Munich’s Austria international, David Alaba, who has Nigerian blood flowing in his veins, is ranked in the 56th position while England midfielder Ross Barkley is among the players in the top 40.

Five of Mikel’s teammates at Chelsea – Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, Francesc Fàbregas, Oscar and Thibaut Courtois – were named in the top 20.

As expected Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, is the most valuable player in the world followed by Real Madrid poster boy, Cristiano Ronaldo.

“It doesn’t count. It pains me that Nigeria will not be at the Africa Cup of Nations and for the award, I support the decision of tonight, a big congratulation to him [Yaya] and I thank God for him,” he said.

Many followers of Nigeria’s most prestigious musical awards were left stunned when they got to know that comedian Bovi would not be hosting the Headies 2014.

Questions started coming from all angles and some even came up with different suggestions like something went wrong between the organizers and the popular comedian.

Well, the real reason he couldn’t host the show has finally been revealed. The show was initially slated to hold on October 25, 2014 and he was in for the date and preparations and rehearsals had already started when the organizers decided to change the venue and the date due to some logistic reasons and he was already billed to have a show on the new date picked. So he couldn’t just combine two shows in one night.

Considering the calibre of the awards, the organizers had to get someone of a like mind with him in the name of BasketMouth and everyone present at the awards knew it was a job well done by our host.

Sports / Mikel Wins African Player Of December Award by Wisdytech(m): 8:08am On Jan 07, 2015
Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel has been named the English Premier League’s African Player of the Month of December.

In a statement by the organisers New African Soccer, Mikel was voted and selected ahead of West Ham’s Cameroonian Alex Song and Southampton striker, Senegalese Sadio Mane in a tight vote process.

Awards Director ‘Tunde Adelakun said “as always, it was a difficult choice, but a lot of factors came into consideration before we selected Mikel”.

“Mikel has endured a difficult start to the season, falling down the pecking order in a star-studded Chelsea team that is riding high in the Premier League. After all, we all know that no one likes changing a winning team. However, the spirit of professionalism which he displayed in waiting for his chance, and taking it well with some solid performances in a difficult month, tipped the award his way this month” Adelakun said.

Commending the performances of Alex Song and Sadio Mane, the statement said “Mane has settled into his role in the Premier League as if he has always been here. The way he took his goals against Crystal Palace and the might of Chelsea proves that the Senegalese will be a force in this League for some time to come. And as for Song, he is just solid as ever; and if he was not rested in some of the games over the festive period, he would have made the decision even harder for us”.

Adelakun commended the level of the African performance in the English Premier League this season so far, stating that “the Africans have been a real credit to the continent, and when we watch them in the League, it is with pride’.

The presentation of MIkel’s award will be done in the coming days.

The statement also added that the New African Soccer Awards has been merged with the Africans Abroad Recognised (AAR) Charter, which seeks to recognise the exploits of Africans in Diaspora in all walks of life.
