I am highly tempted to continue this discussion but I can forsee that it will drag to the basest level to which I abhor. On that note, I cease to continue with the discussion for I would not partake in wanton belittling of the Name of the Almighty.

@ mkls baby,

I stand in the knowledge and I have no apologies for posting what I posted. It is your choice to accept it or throw it away.

I don't know where you get the term, 'monism'. I reject to say it is what I mean in my posting but if your term 'monism' is consistent with what I have explained then so be it.

According to the following definition, which to a large extent is consistent to what I mean, The Trinity is God according to the teaching of the churches which represent the majority of Christians. According to the doctrine, God is a single being existing(working) simultaneously as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. --en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity.

The definition states that He is a single being who, in his relationship to us, manifests as three entities. And that is why it is called The Trinity of One God. Like I said earlier, it is your choice to accept or reject it and nobody is forcing it down your throat.

Now, let us look at your idea of monism which according to definition is a philosophical term which, in its various meanings, is opposed to Dualism or Pluralism. Wherever pluralistic philosophy distinguishes a multiplicity of things, Monism denies that the manifoldness is real, and holds that the apparently many are phases, or phenomena, of a one.

If the above definition is correct, does it then mean you uphold pluralistic view as opposed to monism. It then also follows, from implication, that the Trinity are three independent Gods(which I reject with every breath I take). For God is One and HE alone exists as GOD from all eternity to eternity. I am not implying that is what you believe just like you brought the term 'Monism' on me but I need you to clarify your position as opposed to 'your' term, monism.

Finally, whether you like it or not, there are overzealous christians who think they know and who in their oversealousness tries to misinterpret the scriptures. And I never in my posting accused anybody here in the forum of such practice. I pray that none of us here are to be found among these group. I make my contributions freely without attacking anybody's personality and I wonder why you seem so touchy about it.

God, the Father; God the Son; and God the Holy Spirit are one and the same God but work in Trinity. Jesus is the LOVE of the Almighty and the Holy Ghost is the Executive Justice. To bring it home to our understanding, It's like the two arms of a body. You can use your left or your right hand to carry out an action without involving the body but both arms belong to the same body and the food you eat nourishes the whole body and you also bath the whole body when you take your bath. I cannot explain all I know about the Trinity here but All our prayers must go to the Almigthy, who became Jesus in flesh and blood. John 1:1 says it all. All these confusion came because of the overzealous Christians of our time who in their pseudo-knowledge tries to personalize Jesus as being different from God Almighty.

When in the Bible you are told: "No one comes to the Father except through me(jesus)". I t does not mean you go to him as a person and beg him to tell God something about you. It simply means that no one can come to the Almighty except through the word that he brought, living the word for he is the Word made flesh. And through living according to the truth that he brought to mankind, you can now draw closer to God. Not by just believing, you also have to do that which you believe in and true belief come by inflexibly weighing, examining and experiencing that which you profess. Pray to the Almighty for He is Jesus and vice versa.
FoodRe: How Popular Is Zobo Drink? by wiseguy(m): 1:20pm On Mar 28, 2006
Zobo is a drink I look forward to every sunday. A woman where I worship used to bring it to me every sunday. When I come back home, I put it inside freezer and during the evening I will come out in the garden around the house with my wife and have a wonderful experience. I love that drink so much that my wife had to go and learn how to prepare it and what a nice drink she prepares for our sunday evening

PoliticsRe: Appeal Court Voids Ngige's Election by wiseguy(op): 5:14pm On Mar 16, 2006
To my thinking, I really believe its the triumph of the people not democracy. When the elction tribunal voided the election of Boni Haruna of Adamawa, we all know what happened. Even the judge that delivered the ruling then was called unprintable names by the presidency and PDP and ofcourse the Appeal court returned Boni Haruna. That was when things was a bit rosy between Baba and his deputy (I know it wont happen now). And come to think of it, how come PDP won almost all the seats in the Anambra state Assembly and even won the Presidential election and APGA was able to win just the Governorship. My thinking again is that if APGA won the Governorship then they couldn't have lost so much in the Presidential and other elections in the state. That then means that OBJ and other PDP candidates in the 2003 elections in Anambra state are  also beneficiaries of the rigging in Anambra State and OBJ's election, just like Gani said , is suspect.

Another issue, Chris Uba confessed to rigging this election and was expelled with Ngige from PDP but was later readmitted and made a member of the board of trustees of the party while Ngige was left in the cold even when his expulsion was nullified by the court. Maurice Iwu, who was nominated by Uba took over INEC and immediately made a voltface and asked the court to nullify the entire election contrary to the position that INEC canvassed in the tribunal before he took over.

And my conclusion is, if Ngige is in the good books of Aso rock, this would never have happened and let us remember that Ngige himself has publicly denounced OBJ's third term ambition. So, to me democracy has lost once more but the people won.
PoliticsAppeal Court Voids Ngige's Election by wiseguy(op): 2:52pm On Mar 15, 2006
Hello ALL, news just came in from Enugu that the appeal court has voided the election of Gov. Chris Ngige of Anambra State. Many of us expect the verdict to go this way. But do you believe Ngige lost because he did not win the election or because he fell out of favour with Aso rock? Do you think it would have been different if Ngigie is OBJ's boy like Odili of Rivers state whether he won the election or not? And where on earth are the Chris Uba's that confessed rigging the election? Let's have your say!
RomanceRe: Slob Vs Neat Freak by wiseguy(m): 6:00pm On Mar 13, 2006
Hey! I'm feeling lucky here. I am an extremist when it comes to neatness. I mean I cannot tolerate any cockroach in my house. And I am so lucky my wife competes with me to keep the house clean. Her neatness atrracted me in the first place. We have fun cleaning the house daily. We comb the whole house from the kitchen to the parlour and to the rooms. Infact, you can actually have your meals in my toilet. No jokes. It was a habit that I cultivated when I was very young. I was the sanitary prefect in my high school days. I can't stand a dirty environment. One reason I would not live in places like Aba, Onitsha and possibly Lagos.

Well, if you cannot tolerate your spouse when you are still dating, no need to get married because chances are you will never change the person. Its either your spouse changes b4 you get married or you forget it.

OH LORD OF ALL THE WORLDS, We Nigerians have sinned and deserve what is coming to us. But LORD, please show your mercy and do not let your anger dwell on us too much. Please forgive us our sins and let this cup (3rd term) pass over us. AMEN!
FamilyRe: Always Trying But Never Accepted By My Mother by wiseguy(m): 6:20pm On Feb 16, 2006
I registered in this forum today just to post a similar issue when I saw your post and decided to read it first. Now, I dont know if I am in a position to offer advice on this because i am in a similar mess. If its not against the rules, I beg to join my post with yours so that it can be treated concurrently.

I am 30 yrs old going to 31 and graduated 6 yrs ago from the University as an Engineer. My university education wasn't rosy. Not because I dont have people who can take care of my Education but I dont have people who are willing. My mom wanted me to learn a trade after my secondary school but I defied her and insisted on going to University. Incidentally she and my eldest Brother are the only ones that are more financially capable in the family and both does not want to be bothered with the financial implications of going to school. My mom told me categorically that my going to school will not be beneficial to her since she will already be dead by the time I graduate (She's still alive anyway, 6 yrs after graduation). I managed to do my first yr by borrowing from friends and doing some holiday jobs but it was still not easy to cope. Well, help finally came in my second yr when one of my lecturers took an interest in me and wanted me to work for him without payment in exchange for learning computer hard/software installations. I agreed and after some months was able to make my own money by supplying new computers and fixing old ones for homes and office and that was how I made money that finally saw me through university.

To summarise the whole story, immediately after graduation, I was subjected under serious demands from my mom even when am still doing my NYSC and afterwards when I have no job. Anytime she calls me, my heart skips because her demands which is usually monetary is so difficult for me to meet. What worries me is that she never calls and ask me how am doing or enquire about my welfare. Even when she hears of one misfortune that befell me she wont even ask or mention it in our conversation. She's only keen on what she can get from me. I was involved in a car accident last December that made me not to go home for Xmas and she was aware but she only called to ask for money. She didn't ask what happened or about my car uptill now. It was only my fiancee who was with me through out that period in the hospital. About the same time two years ago, I was also hospitalized and could not get anybody to help me in the hospital. I called my fiancee and my mom. my mom did not come till after one week when my fiancee needed to go and my mom only came, attacked my fiancee, rained abuses on her and left after staying only two days. She met her for the first time and the question was "are you the person eating my son's money?". My fiancee was forced to stay behind because we taught my mom will atleast stay for a week for me to recover. My mom's words before she left was she taught after going to school I will find my way and get to America and make money like one of my ralations who is building a mansion for the mother in town. She reminded me that the boy is my age and also read the same course I read in school.

Now coming to the money she asked for recently; She wanted me to give her money to move to a new apartment( She stays alone) in town. She said she needed over N200,000 for the rent. I told her I dont have that much but that i will give her N50,000 for now pending the time i discuss with my other brothers to see how much they can contribute but she flatly rejected my offer and threatened that if i dont want to help her she will park her load to the village and die there and that i should not even think of coming to her funeral. I am confused. very confused. I dont know what to do. Please, is there something am doing wrong? I NEED HELP. I need your candid advice please. Why me? I am suppossed to be her beloved son being the youngest in the family but the opposite is the case. My other brothers themselves often wonder why she press me so much. What do I do? I want to get married soon but my fiancee is so afraid of my mother that mere mention of her sends shivers down her spines. My fiancee knows that I dont have N200,000 to give my mom but she's telling me if there's any possibility for me to borrow the money and send to her. HEY! Is this how am going to live my life. As if am being blackmailed. I've told you all. I NEED HELP O. Thank you.
