Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by wiseguy(m): 9:47am On Nov 02, 2006
Donald Duke continues to be my first choice. I challenge anyone to tell me who amongst the lot of them has done better. And before you do that, check out www.dukepac.biz

Cross river state is the 30th of 36 states and the least in Niger delta in terms of Monthly allocations but see what he has done with the little resources he has. Like he said; it is not how wealthy a state is but the will to carry out developmental projects.

The appeal court sitting in Ibadan this afternoon nullified the impeachment of Rasheed ladoja of Oyo state.

Wow! That was awesome girl. Good Job. Take your time and do more work on this story. Garnish it with neccessary spices and we can't wait to be served. Review all the criticisms. Read and re-read the story and fine tune it.

This is the type of story when published have that ability to entrap the reader till the last sentence.
Romance / Re: Is Kissing Someone Else Considered Cheating? by wiseguy(m): 5:55pm On Jul 21, 2006
This is the criteria:
How would you feel when you see your man/woman kissing someone else? If you will feel glad ( I wonder who will, )that your boo kissed someone else then its no cheating but if you will feel otherwise then consider yourself a cheat when you do it.

Let me break it down.
If you have no qualms with ur boo kissing someone else then you really should not be with him/her and you are among the "dont cares". Maybe u need something else from the relationship and dont care what the other person does and who he/she mingles with.

If you feel bad with ur guy/gal's action then when you kiss someone else, that is the way he/she will feel and that is cheating.
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by wiseguy(m): 5:08pm On Jul 21, 2006

Politics / Re: Donald Duke Confirms Running For 2007 by wiseguy(m): 2:50pm On Jul 11, 2006
Wow! This is good news. He already has my vote. I've been praying for this. Donald Duke is one man am sure will do well. I'll pray harder for God to make this a reality. It is time we vote in people based on merit and past antecedents not on political sentiments or tribalism.
Sports / Re: Zidane's Head Butt In World Cup 2006 Final by wiseguy(m): 1:21pm On Jul 11, 2006
My only regret is that Zizou went for Materazzi's chest instead of mouth. I would have loved to see that his mouth bleed like hell. Zizou is human. Most of us will do worse if confronted with the same situation. And why is Materazzi ashamed of telling the world what happened? Ofcourse, he wont be proud of what he said and knows he deserved what he got. He should tell the world exactly what he said to Zidane instead of denying everything.

I love Zizou and I loved him more after the head butt.
Politics / Re: Igbo President: What Will Nigeria Turn Into? by wiseguy(m): 9:21am On Jun 23, 2006
There's no big fuss. Ikwere's dissociated themselves from the mainstream Igbos during and after the civil war and that is understandable for fear of being killed during the war and counted among those who lost the war after. Their culture, language, names are still Igbo. Also Ichie and Opobo people of Rivers state are also Igbo completely in language and names but they chose what they want and still deny their origin but that is ok. They can be what they chose to be.

@Anigboinam,

The (oil) resources of Nigeria are also located in Abia and Imo in the southeast as well as in Ondo in the southwest and they are also part of the nine states that make up the Niger Delta. So, some part of southeast and southwest are part of niger delta and that is why you have the former chairman of NDDC (Onyema Ugochukwu) coming from Abia.
Politics / Re: Should Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (Now Foreign Minister) Resign? by wiseguy(m): 5:27pm On Jun 22, 2006
Okonjo-iweala has tried for this country and deserves commendation. I dont know how OBJ got this advice but this is surely a wrong move.

Abeg, my people, forgive my little baby, afeni. he can't think beyond his age and that is very understandable. He'll grow up someday.
Politics / Re: Igbo President: What Will Nigeria Turn Into? by wiseguy(m): 2:47pm On Jun 22, 2006
Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, no matter how stupid. So we can actually understand when Some people have too much time to argue endlessly and unnecessarily like dummies. I ain't got the time. I have a business to run.

@ Afeni,

You're 19yrs old? I understand. You reason your age. When you grow up we can have a chat. For now, there's no basis and don't forget ur lunch box kid kiss
Politics / Re: Igbo President: What Will Nigeria Turn Into? by wiseguy(m): 1:43pm On Jun 22, 2006
It is very sad indeed that a forum like this that we should use to foster unity and togetherness in this country is just about achieving the opposite. People spend their time trying to badmouth one ethnic group or the other. I wonder the impression that we give to the outside world. That I am born into an Igbo, hausa or Yoruba family is just by chance. Such ethnic threads should not be allowed in nairaland. Naira is a nigerian identity and as such nairaland should be for all nigerians. This forum should be used to foster unity among nigerians until a day when we will finally agree to live together or separately. I remember some weeks ago when someone posted a thread about some killings in Aba and after a few people responded, it was decided that the post should be removed because that might cause other parts of the country to violently retaliate. And one question  that always comes to my mind is this; why is it that we so much disagree when it comes to politics but in sports and other things we come together as Nigerians. When Kanu scores a goal nobody cares if he is from zango kataf, Owerri or Iseyin, we all dance and jubilate together. But when it comes to politics, the scenario changes. We thirst for one another's blood. And at the end of the day, after the innocent ordinary people must have been killed or maimed, the politicians that are promoting this ethnic rivalry will still feed fat on our resources and at our own expence.

Seun, I dont really know your objective of setting up this forum but I believe that one of them should be to promote unity between nigerian youths both home and abroad. If my assumption is correct, then I believe you should take the time to do just that - by discouraging any thread that will do the opposite and removing it. If you don't have all the time, then delegate other people that will help administer the site. Enough is Enough. This has to stop. we, the youths has many more important things to discuss. Why dont we focus on our strenghts. We should stop saying it is the turn of yorubas, igbos or hausas but rather it is the turn of MR. A or MR. B. That way we focus on the person and know why the person is fit to be president regardless of his ethnic origin. I have someone that I support to be President, based on his record. He's not from my ethnic group and If he contests, I will vote him over anyother person from my ethnic group. Let us desist from posting threads like this. If you are prejudiced against any ethnic group, just keep it to your self. Do not look for disciples. It is your own personal experience. Thank you all.
Travel / Re: Nigeria Issues Uk "travel Warning"! by wiseguy(m): 5:29pm On Jun 21, 2006
I read it too and I wondered why it did not make headlines in CNN or BBC. Its time we start playing the same politics with them. The BBC or CNN only reports what is bad in Africa. They will never report the good things that are happening in Africa. If it is UK or US that issued a travel advise, it will make headlines in BBC or CNN. The reverse is now the case and its conspicously missing in their news. Its time we dig out their own dirt too and and broadcast it worldwide.
Politics / Re: Donald Duke For 2007 Presidency? by wiseguy(m): 4:42pm On Jun 19, 2006
Donald Duke

Donald Duke (born 30 September 1961 in Calabar) has been the Governor of Cross River State since 1999. He has been at the helms of affairs of the State since the commencment of the present democratic dispensation in Nigeria. He received LLB degrees from Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Spearheading the incumbent debt of Nigeria, Duke pushed for democracy and against military control. He stated; "What got the military out of power was not democracy but the dreadful state of the economy. If we, the democratic government, cannot deliver food for the mass of people we can forget about democracy.(1)"

Duke has been appraised for his contributions to the fields of Agriculture, urban development, government, environment, information and communication, investment drive, and tourism. Through his work Cross River is considered the "cleanest city in Nigeria."

It depends on his reason. If his reason sounds so stupid to me, I will tell him he is forgiven but he should go and never try to contact me again. Chikena! One thing I believe is no matter the situation never you run away from your responsibilities.

The rythm poll is still on. But the number to text to have changed. You can nominate your candidate by texting NP(or Next president) and the name of the nominee to 937 to MTN and 32413 to Vmobile.

For example, NP Donald Duke.

Lets nominate Donald Duke.

Politics / Re: Death Penalty For Exam Malpractices In Nigeria? - Satire by wiseguy(m): 12:32pm On Jun 14, 2006
Haba Seun! How did even death sentence, in the first place, cross your mind for an offence like exam malpractice? My brother, I totally disagree with U on this one. Agreed, exam malpractice is bad but we can really minimise (not eliminate - because u can't. it's part of human nature to cheat) it by doing so many things right. But as long as those saddled with the responsibility of conducting the exams as well as our parents still aid and abet the crime, the end to it is not in sight.

If as you suggest Death penalty be used for exam cheaters then it should also be used for liars and ofcourse you have to wipe off almost the entire world. Death penalty will not solve the problem. Never!
Politics / Re: Worst Performing Nigerian Governor? by wiseguy(m): 8:54am On Jun 14, 2006
Its definitely Odili of Rivers and Chimaroke of Enugu. This two are way ahead of the rest. If this two are properly investigated, I tell u the whole world will go mad at what will be exposed.

CNN is simply biased.
Politics / Re: Worst Performing Nigerian Governor? by wiseguy(m): 8:59am On Jun 13, 2006
I will nominate Odili of Rivers and Nnamani of Enugu. Nnamani is a thief and Odili, a bigger thief. Both are being protected by Aso rock.
Politics / Re: PDP Split: Your Views! by wiseguy(m): 8:54am On Jun 13, 2006
Sometimes I feel the best thing is to line up these thieves and execute all of them. I am beginning to think that is the way forward for this country.
Politics / Re: Who Should Be the Next President of Nigeria? by wiseguy(m): 5:23pm On Jun 12, 2006
Donald Duke has my support. Please can we leave out IBB in this discussion. Haba! do we have short memory or what? IBB destroyed this nation. He introduced corruption at the highest level. We should be moving forward not backwards. If the system is working well, the likes of IBB should be languishing in jail.
