MelesZenawi: Very biased?
The girl just realized the guys action though bit. All she is doing is to save herself and be her own...
She is also fighting for her survival. I have consistently told people to forget about this Laycons' character , that is nothing but deceit to achieve his goal through sympathy.
if not why clinging on someone that already has another person and keeps talking about how as if she owes him anything.
Summary of Laycons' action is simple. using Erica to garnet votes and sympathy.
He is a snake. Lol...I thought this is a game to win 85M. You guys are taking this thing too serious, just like that lady screaming in the video |

TransAtlanticEx: If they could see everything, why haven't they succeeded to curb illegal BDC? Shebi they now have God's eye at the CBN? Look a foolish criminal can always make mistakes and get nabbed, not that the CBN is a supernatural authority that can lick the floor and tell a story. They look the other way, that's why. Hove you wondered why "most" high-profile kidnappers get caught in Naija? :-) |

TransAtlanticEx: How would you talk of "unusual deposit" in a BDC operator's business account? These people have this types of history since so what do you mean by unusual deposit? Mallam weh dey carry 10m go bank everyday cash go get 20m deposit and you begin to question him? Does he look like a salary account holder to you? Jeez Bros, I know a known mallam/BDC somewhere around my corner, who helps working boys and cooperate men earning legit petro-dollars move things around got his account blocked, not sure why. CBN can see everything, they can for sure decide to do nothing. |

dokyOloye: Electric cars are being phased out, some countries already have a deadline of 2030 including for heavy duty vehicles. Electric trains are becoming more popular, most countries now rely on nuclear sources for their electricity, only Africa and few 3rd world countries are left behind. Hello bros, I understand you. The Internet is not a place to argue. I will say I'm an insider in this topic. My last comment is very correct. Ciao |

dokyOloye: Nice. But d world is gradually moving away from dependence on fossil fuel. Hello chief, don't let mainstream media confuse you. Walk of you door in Nigeria and tell me if you think fossil fuel will not be useful. What we do is our business. Developed countries built their economies on cheap and versatile fossil fuels. What is the business of poor developing countries with renewable energy. Find some time to look at data on fossil fuel usage, and check how much is consumed by Nigeria with a population of 200 million, compared to Canada with a population of 30 million. You will know that we should not be following the band wagon. |

The vegetable oil she uses for frying is also imported. Nigeria produces a lot of vegetable oil. There is no reason to import this. |
Family › Re: Age 25 With 1 Million Naira & Living With My Parents: Buy Land Or Pack Out? by Wiseoldman: 10:38pm On Aug 20, 2020 |
CuteVally: Good evening Nairalanders.
Please i need an advice on the next step i should take in life. I am a guy, 25 years of age and still living with my parents, though i am not jobless but recently my bank account just hit one million and 200 thousand naira.
So my parents are advising to buy a landed property in my home town that will take about 900 to 1 million naira. But the thing is that i am 25 and i feel at my age i should no longer be staying with my parents, so i want to rent a flat and furniture it to my taste, i feel it is time to move on, i need my freedom to finally face life like a man.
So my question is, should i purchase a landed property at 25 and continue living with my parents or pack out and start my Adult life. Note: i am not jobless". Invest the money in a "legitimate" and secure fund/business. Don't buy land with your spare cash. Especially village land that will give you unreasonable ROI. At this age you aim should be building wealth, i.e. cash flow and ROI. I made similar mistake when I was younger. I used my first few paychecks to buy a land in a remote/village area. Now I'm thinking of how to dash it out. Better than selling it for peanut considering inflation. |

TransAtlanticEx: Speculators, not black market. Nothing concern mallam and dorm account, especially in times like these. Speculators won't be able to withdraw to sell at black market rate which is true, but mallams aka BDC do cash most times or have their compatriots in other countries doing "wire" for them so how does this affect them? It even favours them because the harder it is for you to get your legit dollars, the more he can hike his selling price. Na 480 right now as we dey yarn laidis Lol, everything concerns mallam with dom account. I know more folks changes 1000 dollars on he street. But more money is moved in dorm accounts by these mallams. Alot of these money is what folks buy on the street. |

TransAtlanticEx: Why do you think the black market I'd overheating? I don't wanna believe you typed this intentionally. I typed intentionally. Black market folks move money from inflow to cash and cash to inflow. With this rule, they can't move money between cash and inflow. People that need cash and inflow will never be balanced. |

nosa2: Every Nigerian has forex expenses. Most just don't know it CBN has a new policy which i feel with vibrate through the economy a bit. Forex recieved through inflow can't be withdrawn, it can only be transfered. I like a number of Nigerians have inflow dollars in our account, but we can't withdraw. You can only transfer, shop online and send to 4% per annum portfolios. Some speculators will start looking for ways to move their loot to Naira now. I know there are a number of backdoor, but they will shed of some money moving the money around i.e. aboki, bitcoin, etc. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Wiseoldman: 2:10pm On Aug 18, 2020 |
I was at the bank today. I tried to withdraw some USD, but I was told I can't withdraw, forex recieved via transfer/inflow. This leaves me no legal option to transfer this money to Naira. I am able to use this funds to shop online without issues using GTbank dollar card.
This seems crazy at the moment since I need some Naira. But looking at thing from CBN angle, this is very smart. This with limit craze for forex in Naija, what we spend in Naija is Naira. Now I feel it. I need to buy a bag of rice and other stuff, the dollat is just useless in my account. |

cool318: Oyigbo as a community has over 36 oil & gas wells which many are in full production. I believe that the community should be given a kind of humane treatment when taking into consideration the resources being pumped out from their underground reservoirs.
Nigeria is exporting electricity to West African countries on credit, they are owing still they are supplying them electricity, so why are the host communities in darkness.
Something is not right in this Country, it's a Pity Bros, i used to randomly get pissed with the government for statement like this. This was until I moved to the Niger Delta and I saw communities stop contractors from building their town road because the company did not pay enough marching ground. Or a community wrestling the government and oil companies not to build a bridge in their community so they can continue to rent their boat and pontoon to the companies in the area. Fear catch me me with the thinking in that place. |

FAAN is one of the fantastically corrupt federal agencies.

Does anyone know a USD fund (or EROBOND fund) in Nigeria that doesn't require international bank transfer. Most of the funds require sending funds outside the country through the intermediary bank. This takes off some chunk of the profit. |

What the immigration service did to those doctors is nothing more than what satan does when something good is about to come your way.
Nigeria is dead and no sane human would build his or her future around a country that can't project where it would be in the next 5 years.
NB: For each time I type on Nairaland, I only but weep. A site that has so much goodwill but its operators possess an archaic posture to 'improvement'. They post bad stuff about governance every day on this site but have remained inept and incapable of moving forward, resistant to change.
Richdad After the same Nigeria offered them the best value for money training to be a doctor. Nigeria has some of the cheapest medical school in the world. It should be a model for the world ideally. |

I'm just saying...the first step is to verify his guilt, this is pretty must set in stone now. The second step is for the jury to sentence him. I'm not sure the jury will cut him any slack. Naija guy stealing from American business in the Corona period. The law says 20 years, i hope he is not convicted of more than one count of the fraud, else it will be 20X years. Considering the charges against him really i was expecting for more years like between 40-50years but if its 20years. he should be glad oo cuz thats like years of more enjoyment cuz prison life in US is more like still living In Dubai cuz its far better than lives in State Capital of Naija(abuja) its sef 20 years in prison is not like taking a 20 year time-off in the village. The world will have moved on, most of his possessions will have moved also. These are even the ones FBI/EFCC does not recover. These crime fighting bodies have very active asset recovery units. |
