Softkey:
So sorry about your US denial, I've been there before so i know exactly the feeling.

To start the Aus package, i believe all docs you use in securing an admission to US would fits perfectly for Australia schools too, but unlike US schools, you'll have to make school fee payment of at least a semester before you can apply for visa.

To start with, search for schools that offers your course online, check their admission requirements and payments. Once you find the one that meets you needs, check if you can apply directly or it's a must you use an agent (some Aus schools would always refer you to their agent). You may find out by contacting the school as well.

Note: you might also want to check out some schools visa requirements before making your school choice.

Follow their admission process till you secure your admission. Once you receive your admission letter, follow the school instruction to make your payment and get your COE.

Go to the Aus immigration online portal, create an account and file your Application, submit all required documents, go for your medicals and Biometrics to complete your Application.

Relax.....PRAY...PRAY...PRAY.....and you'll laugh.

Hope you have something as a guide from there.
NOTE: I'm still awaiting my Visa decision as well.

Health / Re: My Wife Is Having Difficulties In Getting Pregnant by Wiseoldman: 2:47pm On Jan 01, 2019
Bankyshinani:
Pls nairalander, I need help......
My wife hav bin having difficulties in getting pregnant... D issues started since around June, Wen we went to d hospital n a scan was carried out on her n it shows dat she is having an infection. Pelvis inflammatory disease to be precise... So since den we have bin treating dat infection... So,recently she was feeling some kind of symptoms which we were told dat d symptoms are early signs of pregnancy.. We were very much much relieved dat God have finally answered our prayers.. To our greatest surprise, we ran a pregnancy test dis morning n it came out negative.. We were both morning since mawnin....
Pls, experts in d house... We nid help n suggestions on way forward on wat to do...

Bros let me advice you. This is from seeing similar situations like yours play out well in numerous people i know:

1) Try to avoid anything herbs or detoxication at the moment.

2) Most people with phone numbers here are just trying to sell product. Many of them dont know what dey are selling. Or the side effects.

3) Nigerian hospitals have cause a lot of damage with their PID diagnosis. She might just have Staph...like the other 7 billion people on earth. Note that the variation of Stap usually diagonised in Nigerian hospitals is soo common that i can guaranty even the doctor, me, and everybody that has posted on thia thread most likely have it. It is pretty harmless.

4) The anti biotic your wife is taking for the PID usually messes up with the menstral cycle. Put that in mind. She can start having funny syptoms e.g. pregnancy symptoms, etc. You need to be super sure before taking the antibiotic, and only take the exact dosage and not more.

5) Pregnancy symptoms in not very different from menstral symptoms. It is maybe just a "souped up" pre menstartion symptom.

6) Visit a only reputable fertility clinic. If insist to go to a general clinic, only see a Gynea. Dont go to the general practitioners.

7) Get all the requied tests done. If you visit a reputable clinic. This will cost some money, but this is the way to go. She will (must) have her ferlility components checked i.e. homones, uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. You will also have your one component checked i.e. your Sperm. These reputable clinics also check for infections like Chlymedia, etc.

8 ) You and you wife should eat well, sleep well, take fruits, drink loads of water daily, and get her good prenatal suppliments like the GNC Prenatal, Prenacare, etc.

9) Last but not the least. Trust God and build a personnal relationship with him. Remember christ has given us direct access to God. We dont necessarily need priest (pastors). Many pastors prey on vunurable people in need.

I gave this advice as a form of paying it forward. I hope guides you in reaching you heart desire.

Good choice of schools. Number 1,2 and 4 are top schools. In choosing schools , your profile and area of research matters. Make sure that before you apply, you get all the required information you need. Ask the graduate school Coordinator the right questions e.g Funding opportunities, required test scores, whether you need to upload or send in your transcripts etc. Send me an e-mail then I can forward the GRE materials I have. Also go through the GRE thread. There are lots of valuable information there. Cheers.

Hello,
Do you think of GRE Q159 and V162 will be competitive for a funded Mech Msc/phd program in the schools the class of the ones initially listed by the OP. I made some errors during the Quant, and I feel i might be able to do better. I want to know of its necessary.

Thanks

Hello House,

Please whats is the criteria for getting scholarship or tuition waiver from for MSC in MECH in US schools. I am asking to check my chances of getting one, as I feel I might be at a disadvantage due to the fact that I don't have a recent research experience. The MSC is for career movement into more technical roles (Design/Research). But the scholarship or some sort of funding would be required to make this move.

Profile:
1. First Class in Engineering.
2. 5 Year production engineering post uni work experience.
3. GRE (320)
4. TOEFL (108)
5. Recent research experience (This is where i have the concern, I don't have a recent research experience, I have 5 year old published paper though).

Please help with pointers and general advice to help build a solid admission case.

Merci.

Oil companies are evil and mean no good to Nigerians. They are the cause of all the crisis in Niger Delta and the reason for so called laziness or restiveness among the youths. Just look at how dirty the entrance to a whole Agip looks in Port Harcourt. Can they swear that it is same with their complexes in Europe and America? Do they treat us same way they treat Italians, Norwegians, French, Britons?

You don't understand. I'm sure fixing anything on that road will cost more than building an overhead bridge due to settlement money. Agip recently fixed that road actually.

I have seen alot in the ND, I have seen a community refuse Agip to build a bridge for them, but would rather collect monthly rent from Agip to rent boat. I have seen a community refuse an IOC to build a major connecting road for them because they were not paid enough settlemebt money.

Simply said, it's not allowed because you have to take a Driving test and be issued with a valid State Driver's license.

Thanks for the hint, but i read on the Texas traffic website that valid internal ID is allowed for temporary visitor. However residents must go thtpugh the test. Have you had any experiences you can share.

Many Thanks.

Though, my take is that if you are from an IT background, then it's much easy to navigate and also settle.

I am very much interested. How easy will it be for someone with an engineering background. I sent an email to you already.
