African Bar Association has said it
would immediately file criminal complaints
against the Federal Government before
international bodies over the shooting of
peaceful protesters in Lagos.
While frowning on the shooting of unarmed
protesters by soldiers, Tuesday, the body
said it would call for an international
inquiry into the matter.
The association said this in a statement by
its President, Hannibal Uwaifo.

According to the statement: “the African
Bar Association is deeply saddened by the
actions of the Nigerian Government in
drafting Soldiers to forcefully suppress the
ongoing #ENDSARS protest in the country.
“This devilish action which has resulted in
the killings and maiming of unarmed
peaceful protesters in Lagos is not only a
violation of international law but constitutes
criminal acts for which those responsible
will be held accountable in due course.
“The African Bar Association is totally
disappointed in the government of Nigeria
who instead of wholly addressing the
germane issues raised by the protesting
youths chose to adopt Gestapo tactics
infiltrating the ranks of peaceful protesters
with hired mercenaries and thugs who
attacked the protesters in order to create a
scene of chaos.
“The African Bar Association will
immediately file formal Criminal complaints
before appropriate international bodies to
open an international inquiry into the
irresponsible behaviour of the Nigerian
government masquerading as a
democracy.”

I have read many comment and post seeking an end to the ongoing protest due to violence and hoodlums taking over and also due to the fact that its begining to affect cost of food and other things
But for me it should be continued because:
1. The national assembly has a bill to ban public protests,which is geared at keeping the masses mute because they know that agitation is the only way we can make our voice heard. If this protest is called off without any sucess then am sure that the bill will be passed and the.masses will be silent forever
2. People are calling for the end to protest due to violence,I dont know why? There has been violence in Nigeria since 1960,when you want to vote they send hoodlums to attack you, when they want to harass you they send armed forces to harass you, so if we dont keep this protest alive despite this ongoing violence them it means we are going back to where we want rise from..during election thugs prevent you from voting and snatch ballot boxes,during protest this same thugs are sent to kill your voice,its better to fight the fight now and shut down this hoodlums or continue running away the same way we have been doing if we can fight this thugs now then we can vote with confidence
3. People are dieing,yes but let me ask, has people not been dieing? No food,people starve to death, no road accident take the life of people,police men shoot people at will,army torture civilians at will,hospitals are bad hence no acess to good health(people are dieing),government thugs kill people during election(Did you ask them to stop election?),enough death,we most continue protest because the number of people that have died and will die if this protest is killed now will be greater than those that will die if this protest is sustained..
4. Economy is down,last time I checked the economy has been down since my parents gave birth to me,you are complaining of the current prices of food,forgetting that even before protest your one thousand naira is useless in the market,so why dont we bear this pain of increase in food prices now than to bear it till God knows when if this protest is killed

We have fought and run away for too long it's better to fight the fight now than runaway again,because its possible that if we run away now we might not get the opportunity to fight again..

This is not protest anymore, in benin where i live, the number of casualty that have been recorded since d commencement of this so called protest, can not be known. Here in upper mission extension 2 boy loss they lives yesterday, when their lexus jeep collided with road pavement and car samausalted, 3 days somebody was shot at ring road and died immediatelly, also, yesterday a man felled off from a vehicle that was jarating, and it run through him and he died on the spot. furthermore, at 1st east circular road, a jeep ran through 8 people and 4 died on d spot. At Aduwawa close to Upper Mission junction, a Policeman was hit by car, believe to be owned by yahoo boys and he died on d spot. How many can i mention? we say no to continue protest.

Bros continue protest do you know how many people have died due to this government illegal activity and how many are going to die in the future when this protest is over....you are pitying the government now,but when they are busy supporting because you are seeing it as it happened,but assuming you know what the government knows then you will go and burn down your government house...

...the headquater of police brutality in Orile...all those saying nonsense below me..the police started it last night,they arrested some boys on the street and when people came to bail the boys,they couldn't find them in the station,they asked the dpo and instead of replying they opened fire and killed three people, in that anger the youths mobilized and burned that hell cage...an underground prison/ torture ground was also discovered...a police.man was burnt to death reason is that he was fingered out as one of the core police man arresting innocent citizen and harassing motorist...amukoko police station burnt down..ajeromi also burnt down..
This police station is the king of bribery an corruption...
The DPO of that station should be questioned she has many skeletons in her cupboard....
