This is not true. I have worked in the oil industry for close to 20 years, building oil facilities. I have worked outside the country for less than a year. I can authoritatively tell you that the cost of oil production in Nigeria is far less than even the Saudi Arabia that is mentioned..
Let's start with salary; the least earner in Saudi Arabia goes home with nothing less than $3000 per month. In Nigeria the least goes home with around 200000 naira a month.
Let me use myself as an example. When I worked in The middle East, my salary was more than five times what I was earning in Nigeria. That was not even up to standard in my position. A cleaner in Saudi Arabia earns more than an Engineer in Nigeria; I am a witness to this.
Most activities in the Upstream sector in Nigeria are carried out by local contractors, and the budget allocation for this activities are far less than what is obtainable else where. Where is the cost of $40 per barrel coming from?

Well said. Even the companies that pay influences huge amount of money to promote their products are part of this. Why not use that money to run a promo to reward your customers who patronise you on a regular basis. I believe this will be more productive than going to just one person or group of people to promote your product.

How can this be hsppenong in a countty that has an Army. The only place you see soldiers flexing their mudcle in om imnocent civilians at Banex Plaza and Okuama. This is happening in the eyes of the public, yet no protest. I believr thr duty of Nigerism soldiers is to discipline civilians like they always ssy, while they themselves lack basic discipline and ethics a true soldier should exibit.

That is why you need to know God personally so that you don't depend on what someone else is telling you. As a true child of God, the word of God is your companion. When you study it, you hear from God first hand, and what someone tells you. Jesus should be your guide as a believer. If you don't know God personally, then you will be tossed about by eve very wind of doctrine.
Money, offering and tithe are of least importance in God's kingdom. That is why Jesus never taught on these topics when he was here on earth.

The Bible dis not say money is the root of all evil, but the love of money. The love of money can make one kill, steal, and destroy just to have it. Look at the problem of the world today, the root cause is the love of money.

Giving of offering in the Church is not compulsory. Offering does not qualify anyone for heaven, nether does the non-givivg of offering disqualify anyone for heaven. The only thing that can qualify us is by accepting Jesus christ as our Lord and Saviour. He died to save us from the consequences of Hell fire. Confess and accept him to be saved.

Jumping to conclusions when you hear one side of the story is never the best. Wisdom demands proper investigation. The act of killing Soldiers is very condemnable. However proper investigation should be conducted to fish out the perpetrators and also know the root cause of the crime. Collective punishment to a community because or the crime of a few is criminal. There is no justification in fighting crime with crime, especially when the innocent is caught in the crossfire.
There are conflicting reports on what actually happened and what led to it. What ever happened does not justify the killing of Soldiers. In thesame vane, does not justify collective punishment on the community. Our criticism and condemnation should be fair void of prejudice.
The evil you don't condem may cone back to hunt you.

The post quoted below is the most sensible post in this forum. Criminals are everywhere. If a crime is committed in front of your house, does that make you an accomplice? Unfortunately that is the lot of so many innocent Nigerians. They suffer for what they know nothing about. The worst part is that their are countless millions of other Nigerians that will applaud it. These same Nigerians will come out to cry when they become victims. Being a security agent does not mean you should be above the law. What the Army did is simply criminal. There should be proper approach to investigation, and not indiscriminate attack on the populace.

100 years from now will be the year 2124.
By then, every single reader of this piece will be underground, our bodies having become part of the soil.
During that time, our fate in respect to Heaven or hell would have been made known to us.

Meanwhile above the soil, our houses that were left behind would have become either homes for others or demolished for better structures. Our clothes would have become destroyed or rags for others and replaced by more recent trends; our cars will be on display as historical artifacts by others or recycled for more advanced technology.

But for us, we will be, for the most part, never thought about by anyone again.

Think of it, how often do you think about your great grandfather? How often does your great grandmother cross your mind?.

Our presence here on earth today, that presence that we make so much noise about and shed so many tears for, was preceded by countless generations before us and shall be followed by countless generations after us if the second coming of christ tarries

Every generation that passes through this world barely finds the time to take a glance at the world, before needing to bid it farewell and handing over the baton, having not fulfilled even a fraction of their ambitions.

He came and allowed himself to be crucified in other to save us from the consequences of a life without God, which is everlasting punishment; that the Bible describes as death (Rom 6:23). . That is why Jesus said in the book of John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". A life lived without Jesus is a complete waste.

In 2124, some reading this piece will be screaming out, but in vain:
“Lord return me! Give me another chance, so that I may have another opportunity to live for you ..”
The response to this request, however, shall be:
“No! you had your time when you were on earth"

In 2124, many will be in regret, saying:
“I wish that I had prepared for life after my journey on earth.

Let us reappraise ourselves, for surely what happened to those we talk of, heard of and read of will surely happen to us. Let us take advantage of today while it is called TODAY.

Tomorrow is not yours until it comes. And keeping our faith in God through Jesus Christ is the ONLY way out.

*The ultimate question remains :* Where will you spend your ETERNITY...?

What the Govt. and CBN sre doing can be analysed like this,; a man has eggs lying on a roughed Table, he decides to do some rearrangement in his house. In the process, he decides to tilt the table in order to accommodate a little chaie. Meanwhile, the eggs are still on the table. Suddenly, the eggs begin to fall gradually one after the order. On realising his mistake, the man decides to start breaking the tilled floor, because he believes that the eggs break because they are falling on the hard floor covered with tiles. He realizes that this did not solve the problem, because, after removing the tiles, the eggs are still breaking after falling on the bare floor. He then decides, that the real solution to the problem is to smoothen the roughened table. After doing this, it did not solve the problem but accerated the fall of the eggs. Again the man realising that all his effort to solve the problem had failed, finally resorted to blaming his neighbour for living close to Him. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the current approach of those who running the Nigerian economy.

A simple reversal of policies hurridly pronounced without recourse to analysis, causes and effects will go a long way in addressing the present quagmire

The basic thing to do is simply to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and saviour. Life is totally meaningless without Jesus. Jesus is the only way to escape from what is coming ahead. The only thing that is important after death is the salvation that comes through Jesus.

A thousand years is like a day before God, I lived a 100 yrs on earth and that's a few hours before God, will God now punish me eternally for a finite sin? If you say God is love, how can a loving God be evil at the same time? If you make it to heaven and you tell God I need to see my loved one and he shows them to you in hell how they are living in pain and crying in anguish will you be happy with such a God?

Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean you shouldn't think moreso as it is done on Earth so it is in Heaven. (Our lord's prayer) Abi have you seen an earthly judge sentence someone to burn in the fire? God is a spirit being, I committed sin as a body and a earthly sin but my punishment is to burn forever as a spirit being? If you can't get the message from these verses of the Bible, then be reminded that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire, because of there sinful life. What is happening today is worse than what happened then, but God has been giving us the grace to repent. You can't say a Judge is wicked for sending a criminal to jail or a murderer to death. This is dome to samitize the society. God can not put sinner and the righteous in heaven because they will pollute heaven. Heaven is ment to the righteous. The only way we can become righteous before God is by accepting his free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ.

Brother, God is a just God, he is not partial. All sins are equal before God. God had already warned us that the wages of sin is death (that is eternal destruction in Hell), this can not be changed. God has gone the extra mile to ensure that we escape Hell by providing Jesus to pay for our sins. All we need do is to accept what he done, repent and forsake our sins, confess Jesus as our Lord and savior, and work with God to perfect his will in us.
The choice is ours. God does not send anyone to Hell. If we reject Jesus, we have automatically chose Hell, there nothing more God can do for us. Jesus is the on way to God and eternal life (life In heaven).

Brother, you are right. It is wrong to set targets in the house of God. Most believers are blinded by worldly standards.
It will be most appropriate for discerning believers to put their observations in prayer to God for healing of the body of Christ in these end times. Open criticism will do little or no good. The scriptures tells us in Jàmes 5:16, that 'the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working'. If it is possible to meet and speak to the church leadership about it, please do so, weather they listen or not, is not you problem, God will handle the rest. Don't relent in your effort to prayer for the Church and her leaders, we are in the end times already. It was foretold that such things will happen.
