I might not be from osun or oshogbo but sometimes when we see the truth we should always be on it....... L.P(labour party) you cannot win this election in osun state not to talk of P.D.P(peoples democratic part)... Mere looking at it, we can see that Aregbesola is not a Governor, he is from the street and the street is what people live in... So, Ogbeni, keep the work going. 19 Likes |

LATEST ON ASUU UNIABUJA STRIKE Students are humbly advised to disregard any news regarding the suspension of the ongoing industrial strike action by the UniAbuja chapter of ASUU and the immediate reopening of the school for academic activities as such information is yet rumour. Members of the union at the congress held today 14th July 2014 actually made submissions to suspend its ongoing industrial action and has directed its leaders to revert their resolutions to the National Executive Council of the union for further response as this has always been the tradition. The union fervently awaits the positive response of its NEC before it can finally direct its members to return to classes. We however, hope our lecturers will resume any moment from now just as we expect the school management to announce the reopening of our great citadel of learning. Thanks witty cares..... 2go: francis6781 phone: 07037169000 |

"WHAT WILL I REMEMBER?" What will I remember? What will I forget? When this life is ending, &gone What will I regret? If tomorrow I don't wake up, what happens? My sunrise, or sunset? If I never were born.. If I never died... Would it even matter at all? What should I decide? I always imagined I'd mean something to someone If I won't, 'least I tried When my body suffers.. When to breathe is pain Is it really madness to think... Think of breaking this chain? Is the future mine? God knows I have a past Where's my second chapter? Or will the first also be my last? Is my story over If I fall asleep? Would anybody find me? And would anybody weep? I can't even pretend I care But songs I'll never sing... Well that means something... Yes, that means something...... LOLzzzzz.... Happy New Month...my dearest friendssssss! *shallom* wittycares..... Phone: 07037169000. 2go: francis6781 |

Frustrated by over four months of strike that has kept their future in the balance leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS zone 'B' has given the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) seven days to call off and return to the class room. The Union warned that at the expiration of the seven days ultimatum they would be left with no other option than to confront the striking lecturers. Speaking with journalists in Umuahia, the NANS zone B financial secretary and the leader in Abia state, Comrade Eluwah Miracle, said that the students are determined to take their destinies in their own hands by invoking the last "C" in NANS system of settling issues which is confrontation Eluwah accused the members of ASUU of being selfish in their demands from the federal government and politically motivated adding that student would no longer watch ASUU destroy education in the country and jeopardize the future of millions Nigerian youths. He said, "NANS Abia state chapter has condemned in strong terms the on-going nation-wide strike embarked upon by ASUU, which timing is not only wrong, but also detrimental to the security and of the country. Eluwah said that ASUU is claiming that their demands are genuine, "But their approach and timing is very wrong, because the world is now seeing it as being politically motivated and if they say it is not, they should go back to the classroom, while negotiation continues with the federal government". He maintained that the federal government has done well by offering ASUU the sum of N600 billion in addition to the N100 billion already made available this year for the funding of the universities, "which ASUU has rejected under the fragile nature of the country's economy". On the issue that the funds from federal government has not been released, Eluwah said, "ASUU is claiming that the funds have not been released, why should the money be released when they have not accepted the offer by the federal government and until they accept the money cannot be released simple". He said that there are three Cs in the student Aluta struggle which include Consultation, Consideration and finally Confrontation, adding that they have made use of the first two Cs and will not hesitate to use the last one which is confrontation. ABUJA – The Nigerian Police Force Wednesday, tear-gassed members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, University of Abuja branch as they mobilise for their protest into the streets of the Federal Capital City, Abuja. Eyewitnesses said that the lecturers had gathered at the mini-campus of the university at Gwagwalada for the protest when suddenly policemen and plain clothes security personnel took over the entire arena and prevented them from the embarking on the protest. Speaking to journalists, the zonal Chairman of ASUU, Dr. Clement Chup said ASUU sent a letter to the Commissioner of Police at Gwagwalada to notify him of their protest but was surprised when they were prevented by Police from entering into campus. According to him, “We members of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU of University of Abuja had actually planned to carry out a peaceful demonstration today . What we planned was to have a community marching just to march through some major streets in Abuja, to sensitize the public on the essence of our strike. You will agree with me that the strike that has been on for the past four months now is a cause for worry for everybody. We wanted to tell members of the public we are on strike because the Federal Government have refused to implement the agreement they had with our members since 2009. “But unfortunately when we got to the campus this morning (Wednesday), we were prevented from entering the campus by Policemen. When they prevented us from entering the campus we sat down helplessly outside the gate, just chatting and trying to put heads together, the Policemen came around and tear gassed us several times to disperse us”. Chup continued, “We were wondering why, a security agent that are suppose to provide security for law abiding citizens would turn around and begin to oppress the same people they are suppose to provide security for. It was really a cause for worry, even as they threw over 13 canisters of tear gas at us. Some of us were soaked in the tear gas and one of us who has asthma condition was rushed to the hospital. “We insisted that it is our right so at the end of the day we were able to carry out our protest at a point in front of the university gate. When they tried to stop us and they didn’t succeed they now allowed us to carry out our protest at the gate., where we displayed our banners, sang our solidarity song and left”. |
