Obaofaba:I'd be overjoyed too if Obi emerged ADC candidate, as his loss to Jagaban by 12:00 noon on election day is assured, but such is unlikely to happen as Atiku is very desperate to emerge ADC candidate since this is his last attempt to become President. ADC is the fiefdom of Atiku and his fellow imperialistic born-to-rule Northern supremacist and hegemonists. |
Owontime:Don't mind them. Lies, propaganda, fake news and conjectures are what they turn to in effort to portray their Agulu messiah a "victim" of the machinations of others. Now Obi has to contest. He has boxed himself into a corner joining ADC because he must win the Party's primaries as there will be no viable option of fleeing to seek another platform if he fails. |
Gotocourt:All candidates must consent to consensus options. Unlike when Political Parties forced it on everyone. My understanding is that if even one candidate rejects consensus options then direct primaries it is. Meaning, ultimately, there is not excuse for Obi this year as he has been given the helping hand to stand his ground, fight and emerge victorious. |
Michaelmercy:Correct. Long overdue. Now, no candidate can cite bribing of delegates as reason they did not win their Party's Primaries. |
Segunbabba:This is wrong. The President signed into law a bill removing indirect primaries where selected delegates, in a system open to bribery and corruption that favours the likes of Atiku, choose the candidate of a party. Now, direct Primaries is mandatory meaning all registered members of a Party, and not delegates alone, can vote for who will be their flag-bearer. Bribery of delegates, the go-to option of Atiku, gone overnight. Obi can now test his popularity with ADC members themselves. This will be the beginning of showing he has approval from Party level even before he gets to seek the votes of Nigerians. Direct primaries can only be substituted for consensus selection of Party candidate if all contestants are in agreement with that option. Massive kudos to PBAT. We will see Obi and Obidients excuses when the Agulu charlatan fails to get ADC ticket since we are told Obi is popular at grassroots but "bribed delegates" stand in his way. Now grassroot will be involved and will have a say per who will be ADC candidate. Good luck to Obi and Obidients. 😎

higgs:Bolded is my opinion also. |
Brendaniel:You have no shame, nor uprightness or principles. Show us, other than in your imagination, where it was exhaustively established the FG was responsible for tapping the call of Peter Obi. Show that now or shut up for good. What a joke. |
Zionmdde:Well-said. Some, the poster you quoted for example, cannot rise above their hatred of "Yoruba President", "Yoruba Government" and Yoruba people to see what matters. To them it is all about votes from the North they feel can get "Yoruba President" out whereas they have no interest in what is good of bad for Nigeria as a nation. The North-South dichotomy has always been a problem for Nigeria our past myopic leaders felt they could manage with quota system, rotational Presidency between North and South plus 'one Nigeria' duplicity etal. Whereas what well-meaning, dedicated and effective leaders would do is acknowledge the big and potentially dangerous differences between the North and south to then use such knowledge sincerely to forge a more honest system that will work for all Nigerians so we do not become a dangerous menace and encumbrance to one another. Eg regional autonomy. Now that cold blooded and brutal murder, kidnapping and maiming of strangers has entered the 'one Nigeria' mix, courtesy of the core North and mainly Fulanis, is it surprising we arrive at this point where the South want those they associate with wanton, meaningless and callous killings to leave their land? Why will such a demand be viewed as abnormal or wrong? Especially by Northerners who should be looking for ways to mend fences with Southerners that some in their ranks are offending and alienating ? Should they be threatening "retaliation" if genuinely seeking peaceful and harmonious co-existence of Nigerians? Nigeria is full of unreasonable and irresponsible people and ethnic groups. What Northern leaders and followers are doing to the South is very wicked, evil and condemnable. History shows us that evolution won't allow that to carry on and I believe something will give in the end. Worse to come in my opinion. Much worse. |
higgs:Many Western nations have their own innate culture that may not be healthy for raising children. This is what some of us who are exposed keep telling those who believe Nigeria is the worst hell on Earth and everywhere else is automatically better. The trap is always about the patent danger of economic migration where parents are too busy working to earn, perhaps even invest back home, meaning children lack the one on one attention they need to thrive and stay on the right path away from criminality and other vices. Before long the local gang leader is the new dad of the sons of immigrants as soon as they turn 11 and 12 and roaming around like lost souls seeking a home and 'family'. |
Franklyspeakin:His questions are not valid. What does it matter why he went back and why should a report tell you that? Is reportage of a crime a novel where every detail is revealed to you? He could have gone back because he believed the heat had died down. He may be desperate after running out of money since he can't rob and sell bikes in Nigeria as he was doing in the UK. He could be using forged documents etc, etc. Those details should not matter to normal people because dumb criminals do dumb and unexplainable things no one needs to overthink so far as they are caught and punished. He killed someone and he has now been apprehended and sentenced to a lenghty jail term. That's what should concern normal folks not Sherlock Holmes over-sabi. |
ChrisIntegral:How will he be deported back to "his Country" (Nigeria) when he is likely British by birth? You guys just hate yourselves and Nigeria blindly. If not you would not be suggesting Nigeria bear the shame for what is 100% a UK product. He likely did not have anything to with Nigeria till he fled there to escape his crime in the UK. He is an example of that gang and street life in the UK that Young men from all walks of life are engaged in. |
Brendaniel:Rubbish. What you cite is partiality at best. It does not amount to telling El Rufai to go home and sin no more simply because someone else was not prosecuted over their criminal conduct. No reasonable adult will ever come to the conclusion you do. Rather they will insist El Rufai has a case to answer while launching formal protests against a system that fails to prosecute others for their criminal conduct. You are so emotional you have even confused yourself to the extent you can be suggesting publicly El Rufai should not be charged because others were not. I can never be surprised though because that is how you guys ,as an entire ethnic group, failed to acknowledge the crimes of Kanu and simply insisted he should go home because Igboho was not jailed and Northern terrorist are being rehabilitated rather than jailed |
Brendaniel:.what do you mean 'if that's how you see it"? This is a simple case of keeping focus on criminal wrongdoing El Rufai publicly confessed to with his own mouth. Meaning there is no room or relevance mentioning anyone else let alone Tinubu in what is a self-indicting confession against El Rufai. Your only comment here should relate to whether it is right or wrong to charge El Rufai to Court for confessing to a crime of treasonable felony. If you say the actions wrong then tell us why because it will be interesting to note how you will exonerate someone of wrongdoing when they have confessed to doing wrong, without any shadow of doubt, by well-defined Nigerian laws. When you cannot stay focused on the topic over what is a simple case of right and wrong, of what use are you to your nation as an adult? Who, for example, can read what you wrote here and deem you a fit jury member in a serious criminal case when it is obvious you cannot focus on the premises of the case alone? |
adekolaelect:I just don't get those people. What concerns Tinubu with the law taking its course against someone who should be an upright statesman yet confessed publicly he engaged in a very serious and treasonable criminal conspiracy against Nigeria? 100 times out of 100 these warped people will reject supporting what is right and best for the greater good of Nigeria and Nigerians, simply because they are too busy siding with wrongdoer misguidedly due to their belief an enemy of their enemy is their friend. Yet they complain daily they are marginalised and not allowed to lead Nigeria. Who can trust ultimate power to those with a warped and easily compromised sense of wrong and right? Who will be comfortable being led by those whose judgment is irrational and always likely to be swayed by a prejudiced need for vindictiveness against others instead of commonsensical inspection of every situation to conclude who/what is right or wrong? |
Brendaniel:When will you people ever simply condemn who/what is wrong in a particular situation instead of tainting issues with your prejudice and hatred of certain people? What has this got to do with Tinubu or your biased prior warning against a President you hate primordially? Why can't you simply comment on whether it is right or wrong, if an objective and law-abiding Nigerian, that El Rufai face prosecution and punishment , if found guilty, over his own arrogant and daring public confession of committing a crime against Nigeria? If everyone can brag they committed grave offences against Nigeria and such is allowed to go unpunished, then what future does Nigeria have as a nation where rule of law reigns? |
Wickedfact:Lol. Well done Sir. This arrested guy is surely now Aminda's best friend on Earth suddenly. He will soon show to begin image laundering, for a chap who is likely a hardened terrorist, same as he has been doing for Malami and El Rufia soon as both were arrested and detained. |
kayjordan:I don't agree with you. Anyone can read and then regurgitate what they have read crudely as Obi does. It is called cramming without understanding the issue properly. Intelligent leadership is about using what you learn, and knowledge you can gather, to produce solutions. Obi never does that because he is not blessed with an analytically intelligent mind. All he does is merely Parrot what he learns to tell us "they did this in Bangladesh" without ever explaining how what worked in Bangladesh can be adjusted to be a solution for Nigeria. There is no intellectual depth to Obi. Never has been and never will be. |
kayjordan:No one is disputing that but the kind of intelligence that education then shapes to create minds that give us AI, Nuclear technology, intergalactic travel, great Architectural and infrastructural projects, advanced robotics, life-changing ICT solutions and nation-changing leadership is not often found in Alaba traders which is Obi's level if we are being brutally honest. |
Flangelo12:They are bro. If they are the only ones posting here, without frequent contributions from intelligent Nairalanders one can learn things from, I would have left this site permanently and stayed away for good. |
Flangelo12:Exactly the point I made above. This is why these guys go around ascribing superman intellect and abilities to themselves whereas they are only engaged in profit-making from glorified dutributorship of good. It is crystal clear to exposed Nigerians who have experienced life in developed nations that Nigeria has a long way to go. |
kayjordan:You're joking right? Petty trading and small scale retailing is now "Street Business sense"? It is the lowest rung of the ladder in most developed nation because it is the virtually at the bottom of self-employed endeavours. I e buy good and sell at higher than purchase price to make a profit. No Rocket Science to it therefore senseless proclaiming those involved in it Rocket scientists. Illiterate who dropped out of school, because they lacked intellectual capacity to pass exams, become successful petty traders. That should explain issues to you. |
kayjordan:Bro, na wa for you. Obi is "book intelligent"? I,d like to believe you are talking of another Peter Obi from another universe and not the one Nigerians know very well and understand is 'intellectually challenged '. https://www.nairaland.com/8616379/obi-low-intelligence-shouldnt-aspire

Every leader wants results for his/her side. Tinubu innovatively and brilliantly strategized to get results for Nigeria after Trump's initials threat of unauthorized military attacks against our nation. Today the USA is a formal partner of Nigeria in her fight against terror because of Tinubu's capacity for negotiating intelligently. Only haters and enemies of Nigeria's progress are unhappy currently. |
Dtribeless:You think some here think before they talk? They merely react emotionally to issues based on who they like or hate. @Topic. With well-serviced used Helicopters, from nations where mechanical maintenance is impeccable, used surveillance Helicopters make perfect sense for so many reasons. This is a good and forward-thinking initiative from PBAT because insecurity in the Sahel nations above us, ultimately being exported to Nigeria, will derail Nigeria unchecked. |
Naijahero1:Lol. Who started a thread to wail over Yoruba matter? Is it not your brother? Who is taking Panadol for headache Yorubas are supposed to have? Is it not you and your brother? We do not need your warning or doom and gloom prediction. We have always done better than you reacting maturely, efficiently, productively and sincerely to threats. Simply compare the fortunes of Amotekun, now the best complementary security force to the NPF in Nigerian, and Ebebeagu, disbanded for many atrocities to include armed robbery and summary execution, to note who needs help and warnings yet will never stop doing cho cho cho over the affairs of others. |
Igbophobia:Who is confusing you with Fulani or any other ethnic group. I know your ethnic group precisely and the intention of this dead and redundant thread. This is a time every region should mind their own business and rigorously attend to their own issues. The SW is doing that very well and better than most. Yet we know those whose home is on fire while they remain obsessed with malevolent cho cho cho over the overgrown grass in their neighbours compound. |
Igbophobia:The evil you wish on the SW, and have always historically wished upon us, will rebound to you. That reality should be clear to you given it is not today you have begun wishing doom and gloom on us yet we continue to make progress to now be the Premier region of Nigeria currently, along with the SS, while your region is troubled and regressing. I would advise you to mind your business but such advice would be wasted on you because, from your leaders like Obi to the man in the Street, all you lot know to do is ignore the huge plank in your eyes to be pointing at the speck of dust in Yoruba man's eye. |
AMINDA:Again, Mr.Enemy of my enemy is my friend, you are jumping the gun in the attempt to demonize everyone you associate with PBAT and "Yoruba Presidency". Ribadu does not need to admit anything. That is because he is our NSA and anyone admitting to illegally listening to and recording his phone conversation has committed a crime according to the laws of Nigeria. You'd know this simple fact and distinction, meaning Ribadu has nothing to "publicly admit" to let alone be compelled to "prove it in Court", if you still had even a shred of objectivity and unprighteness in you.
|
Burob:Well-said. Thees Obi worshippers always rush ahead of the facts to then embarrass themselves and their messiah Obi miserably. Who has ever stopped Obi, at any time he wishes, approaching the police to investigate the illegal recording of his conversation with Oyedepo? Obi's situation is to be compared with that of our NSA how? These people are something else bro. Totally beyond redemption. |
mrvitalis:I am glad you have replied the author of the article, your brother Ugboma Stephen, to show him his views are misplaced and that that he is wasting his own time preaching to you lot. Don't mind him ojare. He will be okay last last and learn to accept he is a minority amongst his own people with his unwanted advise telling Igbos to desist from playing "emotional politics". Security an |
osuofia2:Indeed. What is sure is that this should mark the end of El Rufai service in public office. He has gone too far. No other, not Atiku or Obi etal, are going as far as El Rufai is doing in the name of opposition politics. He has crossed all boundaries of decency and duty of care to his nation with the unacceptable methods he chose to fight a democratically elected Sitting government. He started by calling the Tinubu government an "evil" he must help destroy after helping to create it. That insanity, not even opposition politicking can excuse, went unpunished and he was emboldened to then begin a personalised campaign of ludicrous and unproven claims against the Government. He has gone too far taunting our NSA with claims he obtained audio recording of his conversation from hackers who have committed acts of treasonable felony meaning El Rufai is guilty of conspiring with them. He then cheekily wrote our NSA demanding explanation over alleged shipment of dangerous chemicals into Nigeria as if this whole opposition thing is a game with no boundaries at all.All this is a big disgrace to Nigeria. Any technocratic efficiency he offers is ruined by his huge megalomania and sociopathic narcissism. I personally do not think any Government should engage El Rufai as a public servant again after his open confession to abetting an act of treason against Nigeria via claims he benefited from illegal phone tapping against our national security advisor. He has gone too far and only those who believe Nigeria is a lawless jungle where anything goes, and should be run as such , would not understand the unacceptable level El Rufai has gone to fighting others as if opposition politics should ever, for any reason at all, be prosecuted in this "fight to the death" manner.
