hensben: SAF dropped rooney during his last season, moyes make him boss again.Real United fans understand Rooney is a big problem in this new look utd setup. Thanks to Moyes, he rejuvenated his ridiculous relevance. Because Rooney is not flexible to being played out of position and consequently undroppable, he's seen the exit of good players like Kagawa and Welbeck and already threatening the position of another excellent talent in Juan Mata. If LvG can be decisive nd ruthless in fixing the Rooney conundrum then he'd be more than half way to being half the man SAF was. |

I expect a very lenient sentence from Judge Masipa come Oct 13th. There's no point putting this chap away on manslaughter conviction. The deed is done. Reeva is dead and no form of justice can bring her back. I know public sentiments and sympathy tilts massively to Steenkamp family. That's understandable. A family lost a precious and beautifull gem. But there's also a very good chance Oscar was indeed telling the truth. At any rate let's leave the final verdict to Oscar and his maker. But in the mean time, I support any sentencing that'd see him back on the tracks in Rio doing the only thing he knows best - Running. |

Toks2008: @OP,yes she is still cheating and that can lead to a break in her real affair.Uncle toks, I always feel for you each time you use your ex-wife's infidelity to educate us the younger folks on matters of the heart I followed your painful separation and the eventual dimise of your then 11yrs marriage (op I got that right). One can only hope you've healed completely from such heart ache. If you haven't then you've got to try harder. You seem a decent guy enough so go out and meet people. Lastly, quit giving her d satisfaction that you're still grieving for loosing her by using her as a case in point in your submissions here. She doesn't deserve such 'publicity', not after this whole time. Move on bro, oluwa na your strenght |
nitlad: He was never gonna be found guilty, because he's not guilty!!Pally weldone jare. Most sensible post so far. The law is what it is. As far as I'm concerned, Prosecution team bungled this. He could have gone for manslaughter (culpable homicide) and achieved a faster trial process with some credible assurance of a guilty verdict. But no. He got intoxicated by the fallacy of the case as well as misconstrued favourable public backing and hence was caught in the whirlwind of media frenzy. Expectedly he was getting all d accolades for his courtroom theaterics. But the brilliant Judge Masipa exposed the poverty of the prosecution's submission. There is such a phrase as 'beyond reasonable doubt'. The burden of proof of murder is on d prosecution and not Oscar. If followed the sentencing today and d various reasons Judge Masipa aduced you'd have no quams with the acquittal on the murder charge. Let's see what tomorrow brings. But I feel he's gonna go down on the culpable homicide charge. Already d Judge has given a lot of indication in this regard. She called her a poor witness and being evasive during cross examination. At any rate the trial is a victory for the erudite high court Justice, the south African Criminal Justice system and d south African people in general. |
Dreambeat: I think it was a premeditated murder. How could you be at home with your girlfriend, sleeping on the same bed for that matter and you heard a noise for which you felt came from a burglar. You did not call out to your girlfriend to know whether the noise you heard was coming from her.You went ahead to shoot.Abeg talk another story. He was not found guilty for murder not because he didnt commit the crime intentionally but just for want of enough evidence for his conviction. The prosecutors probably did not do a good job putting forth the necessary evidence to nail him.I was gonna have a go at you for your submission, but you redeemed yourself in d last paragraph. Truth is there's such a phrase as beyond reasonable doubt. The burden of proof of murder is on the prosecution not Oscar. The prosecution on the strenght of what we now know did a shoddy job. Judge Masipa very brilliantly exposed the poverty in the submissions of the prosecuting counsel. Oscar may ooze of Reeva's blood, but there's also a slim chance he's telling the truth. For me its too circumtantial to give him the guilty verdict. Culpalble homicide looks an easier route to follow Its on now, let's see how it wraps up |
Dymondgurl: Nse Ikpe EtimShitt. This name has at d time of this quote '119 likes' yet I no sabi who she be ![]() Maybe its time to gradually let nollywood back in again... Google my man make we yarn small abeg ![]() |
2sExy1: Wow... thanks, man. It's not easy. I think one thing that worked for or helped me rather was the fact that I could share or speak about it. It took me long to get over it but I am glad I did and I am grateful for the blessings God has brought my way.Woww man. Like I submitted earlier, this account is very very consistent with the earlier version. Its a testament to how much hurt you must have gone through. What can I say, congratulations on your recovery ![]() |
2sExy1: I understand your pain bro. But when one is in love he does crazy things. I have been there before and I did almost same thing as the OP years ago. the whole signs were there but i just refused to accept them and move on with my life... when I eventually did, I became hardened that it took me some years to regain balance-- I was almost hating girls. yes, it was that bad and people could sense it from my write up even here on nairaland.Yes man. I've followed most of your submissions on infidelity esp on d part of women. They're well documented. I remember telling myself at some point when you eventually penned down what transpired, that this was one screwedd up and hurt brother ![]() Good to see you're gradually but steadily making progress to recovery from that heart wrenching experience One love man |
oluwaisaac: I've been there before...and I'm still with her. I'm really teaching her salient lessons as we speak, because, she has to pay for her sins. Well, brother, all you explained above is called 'relationship abuse.' If you deeply love her, there are two ways to leave her, as leaving her is the ONLY option; if you dont, she'll sleep with your security guard later and appologise, quote me on this. SoI may not agree with you on the ways to drop a cheating partners asss, but I ado gree that once a partner cheats, its a deal breaker. There's no other way around it. Not counselling not nothing, zero. They'll always cheat again. I'm alarmed at the shiit ds Op had to take granted of that ds story is valid. |
Leadership, for the purpose of this piece can be seen as a social process or action by which one person leads a group in order to actualize a common goal. Hence, in every leadership, decisions are bound to be made by the leader in the interest of the followers to make sure the stipulated common goals are achieved. Going further in the light of what has been said above, every leadership, be it democratic or autocratic is always fraught with decision making efforts which of course are expected to end up in the actualization of desirable goals or otherwise. In the Nigerian state today, ordinary Nigerians can hardly know when a leadership decision is made that’s devoid of political intentions and propaganda. It is very difficult these days to see the rightness or wrongness of decisions made by the presidency because some political elements have taken pleasure in infusing politics into these leadership decisions. Hence, they increasingly promote political topsy-turvy among average Nigerians. They have succeeded in making it difficult for many people to make informed opinions about the leadership of President Jonathan. Yes, this can’t be denied. If you want to find out, go to any of our newspaper stands or outlets across the country and hear people’s opinions of President Jonathan and I bet you will be forced to pray for temporary deafness. It is at such places that you witness the level of political confusion many Nigerians (educated and non educated) have been thrown into. I have experienced this and I was not surprised, not even in the least. Even when the masses seem to be convinced on the rightness or otherwise of decisions taken by the presidency, some unscrupulous political elements will – because they have unrestrained access to the media – find a way of twisting and bending these decisions to score political points. How do you assess a leadership system when everything is being politicized in the country? How can an average Nigerian make an informed opinion of the present Jonathan-led administration bereft of some sort of ethnic colourations? The above were the two questions that struck my mind the last time I visited a newspaper stand at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where I witnessed two lecturers arguing over the ban on printing electoral materials outside the country by the president. Let me not delve into the details of how their argument faired because that is not what this piece intends to achieve. In other words, judging critically from what has been happening since the inception of Jonathan’s administration, it can be said that leadership decisions and inconsequential politicking are well embedded in and married to each other. To Nigerian politicians, everything is politics and politics is everything. Hence, everything, for them must be politicized; leadership decisions must be driven by their political interests; the decisions must have all the trappings of political self-centeredness. Our politicians seem not to be interested in the rightness or wrongness of any leadership decision so far as it is not coming from their own political umbrella. In their eyes, a leader can never be right, can never be seen as good, and can never be commended unless such leader is clothed in their party’s regalia and insignia. It’s a bad thing! Since Mr. Jonathan got hold of the mantle of leadership in Nigeria, hardly has he received any commendation for any of his decisions from leading members of the opposition party. Hardly has he been given a “thumbs up” by the opposition party for any action of his even when some of these actions and decisions are perceived to be sound by the majority of Nigerians. Again, scarce has been, on the side of the opposition, the much needed good followership which is expected to go in tandem with good leadership. The questions every well meaning Nigerian should ask are: Has President Jonathan never got anything right in his administration? Just a single thing! Has he ever got an iota of credit – let us even forget the distinctions – since 2011? I believe and I do hope many believe too that Nigerians are too mature for the kind of opposition we experience today. We have gone farther from the era of “Tom and Jerry” politics in Nigeria. I think an opposition party whose sole aim is to fault any administrative actions of a leader regardless of whether some of these actions deserve commendation or kudos portends a bad omen for a nation state. In as much as criticism forms the nucleus of every opposition party’s activities, propaganda and machinery, it will be baseless, ignoble and shameful for the opposition – the umbrella under which the masses may seek cover when they deem necessary – to direct their political arsenal at the polity with unfair criticisms against the president. Many cases abound where the opposition deliberately criticized the effort of the President blindly for reasons which I feel are not healthy. However, I would like to go with the cases of the most recent elections in the country. The Ekiti gubernatorial election which went in favour of Mr. Ayodele Fayose (PDP) on June 21st , 2014 and Osun State governorship election which went the way of Rauf Arebgesola (APC) on August 9, 2014. In the case of Ekiti, the national leadership of the opposition party, APC, cried wolf and accused PDP of rigging what the world saw as one of the most credible gubernatorial elections ever held in Nigeria till date. They criticized that effort by the President even when the freeness and fairness of the poll was there to be seen by all. Without any fear or favour, I make bold to say that I consider that action from the APC national leadership a slap in the face of Nigerians. And in order for them to endear themselves to the common Nigerian, they should learn to accept defeat when it comes because it is one of the qualities of a good fighter . On the other hand, when Rauf Aregbesola of APC defeated Omisore of PDP, the national leadership of PDP congratulated Aregbesola for defeating their own candidate. That is maturity! You don’t show senseless bitterness and aggression whenever you lose in any of life’s endeavours . This my advice to the politicians! What politicians have failed to accept, especially the aged ones who have failed to kiss politics good bye in Nigeria, is that Nigerians have gone past the sixties and seventies. This is 2014! We have many educated heads now unlike what we had in the sixties and seventies. Therefore, much as this has been said, I feel it is high time Nigerians learnt that you don’t vote one in as a leader and refuse to give him a modicum of motivation. We have to learn how and when to give commendation. Leadership positions are occupied by mortals not gods. Therefore, President Jonathan is a mortal and not a god. Hence we should not expect him to get everything right but for the ones he has got right let us show appreciation because leadership is not a tea party. http://www.opinions.ng/can-jonathan-ever-be-right-in-the-eyes-of-the-opposition/ |
