i'm short-tempered. I probably inherited that trait from my dad. Due to the way my dad handled his affairs, my mum was plunged into penury. Currently living with her. The situations of the past has made her bitter. She complains about everything.

I open the pot to take my meal, she raises her voice, i come back empty-handed, she runs me down as being a leech. I lie flat without touching anything, she comes back complaining of so many things. When she starts, i find myself exchanging words with her.

I feel bad afterwards but the cycle continues once she makes me pesky again. how do i salvage this situation? Sometimes, i'm pushed to the edge that my frustration about her slander and my predicament makes me wanna hit her.

You make it sound like you feel powerless in this matter because your father was short tempered, however you aren’t powerless, anything can be can be thrown at you like insult, bad attitude etc but regardless of what it is, you alone have the power of response. You can choose to have a different perspective for example you can choose to feel pity for your mum in which case you will not be angry anymore but you will sympathise with the trauma she has gone through and you won’t allow your button to be pushed. That’s what being proactive is about.

It’s not easy but you can surely master this skill.

Phones / Re: I Switched From Android To Iphone For Two Months. Here's What I Learned by wolexf(m): 9:25pm On Jan 31, 2016
I totally agree iPhone is overrated.

I made the switch from my blackberry Passport to iPhone 6s.

I miss my blackberry more every single day.

iPhone is just to rigid, no access to file system. I was shocked yesterday when I couldn't simply download a pdf document from my mail box and upload it on a website via the browser.bthis is a task I perform without any fuss on my blackberry.

Currently my numbers are not aligned, for numbers stored as 0803 their names won't show up in text messages because text comes as +234803 format.

I really miss the red light that flashes on the blackberry when there is a new notification. Now simply looking at my phone I can't know if there is a new notification or not until I open up the phone.

No hub to have a complete view of all bbm, whatsapp, mails etc.

Manipulating emails and attachments are much better on the blackberry

My conclusion is that iPhone is good for personal use, but for serious work you are probably better with a blackberry or an android device

Business / Re: Court Bars MTN From Moving Funds Abroad by wolexf(m): 11:54am On Jan 13, 2016
Registration of citizens is more of the Federal Govt's responsibility.

In sane societies government registers its citizens and issue a unique identification number to them like the social security number in America, they don't rely on private companies for that.

All MTN should have had to do is to ensure all numbers have their national identification numbers appended.

FG has awarded several contracts for identification that have not yielded any fruit with several billions of tax payers money down the drain. Even NCC collected 6 billion taxpayers money for registration and didn't have anything to show for it.

I don't thinks it's fair to hang security challenges on a private company like MTN and slam such an outrageous fine on them, when government failed in its own responsibility of having record of all its citizens

kaboninc:

Firstly, you do not even know what happens in Rivers State. You claim Amaechi has been saving? For whom? For what purpose? Why? For elections?

Because I do know that he is constructing a light rail from Mile 1 to Lagos which is JUST 50 NAIRA ONLY using either BUS or TAXI for close to 4 years. Yet GEJ constructed thousands of kilometres of rail lines across the length and breath of this country in 6 years. Now who is deceiving who?

In that same Rivers, GEJ is constructing the East-West road and Port-Harcourt - Owerri expressway. Amaechi said spent close to 100 Billion NGN constructing the Omagwa - Eleme section of the road which of course will be refunded but contested.

If you know what SWF is, you'd be the first to embrace and promote the concept behind it. Its laughable when you say its illegal. You should know its equivalent to the Stabilisation Fund your new comrade Utomi was talking about. Yet it was you Amaechi guy who spear-headed the fight against it.

So long as you're one of these APC fans, you won't be objective.

People give GEJ too much credit for the rail. He didn't actually construct the tracks out nothing. Most of them were existing and had been built several years before and after independence. He just resuscitated them with little maintenance here and there. The Abuja rail is one of the entirely new tracks and in 6years there is nothing concrete on ground as regards the Abuja rail

If only they can work on the internal specs, battery life, camera quality & bring it back to the market,

I'm sure it would be an instant hit! cool cool

The internal specs are better, as well as the battery can last a full day of heavy use. It has a more premium finish, not looking cheap at all

The irony is that YOU are being sentimental in claiming that a phone that hasn't been released and hasn't been exhaustively reviewed and that you haven't even seen in the flesh will 'rock'.

There is nothing sentimental about expecting a device looking this good to rock. Add the unique shape of the phone plus the touch sensitive physical keyboard. Yes you read right the physical keyboard on this phone is touch sensitive

Untrue. BB10 phones take BY FAR the longest time to boot of any of the modern mobile OSes out there.
Shutdown times are atrocious too.

Still, it's an improvement over the BBOS devices but that isn't saying much.

I think you should cut BB10 some slack considering that it's a combo of BB10 and Android OS all in one. For a dual OS platform on mobile I think the booting time isn't bad

The battery of a Z30 lasts for 2 days and it's capacity is 2880mAh, this new blackberry will have 3450mAh so you can do the arithmetic of the battery life. Bear in mind that the Samsung S5's battery is 3200mAh

one mopol:

Its not just the amount we are talking about. the point here is that the Apex banker of the naton does not even know how the how basic oil arithmetic is done. It is very shameful that early commentators in industry just laughed at SLS's folly when they heard $49 missing in 18 months.

So my take is that Sanusi either does not know how the country generates its income, which in itself can lead to further drilldown to show some more serious finding of ineptitude in CBN or that our Apex banker simply decided to be a politician and decided to go sensational with a claim he knew is false. EITHER WAYS THE MAN HAS TO GO.

Listen to yourself. SLS has been governor for several years. He didn't complain of missing money till now. He know how much is meant to hit the federation account and the money didn't come for several months.

Most people are very ignorant the figure didn't reduce because he was wrong. What happened was that NNPC and Ngozi explained how the money was spent.

Any reasonable person will know that all revenue is meant to hit the federation account first before it is spent but NNPC took oil revenue spent it with impunity and paid the balance into the account.

In a reasonable country the heads to roll are the minsters of finance and petroleum as well as the leadership of NNPC

luvinhubby: When it`s obvious that Sanusi is an incompetent liar. Time has revealed that his `so called` bank reforms was a big sham.
The fact that he was dancing around figures (from 48 to 12) on the `missing` amount shows he is an incompetent CBN governor.
The report of the auditors on the issue has proven him wrong so he should do the needful cheesy and resign.

He was not dancing around any facts. NNPC and the finance ministry were wrong. To have spent the money without remittance to the federation account. All the did was explain, where the money went and the figure reduced.

The right sequence is that all revenue is paid into the federation account before it is disbursed for spending. For the NNPC to spend first and remit the balance, that is breach of due process.

Yes, they were not directly employed by MTN, but it's same CNSSL that is seeing the welfare of other call centers like kano, kaduna, Ilorin and Lagos still controls that os Jos. Why are they paying those in Jos far lesser than those in other branches? Those guys are ingrates, bcs of the name they made in Jos gave them the contracts of other locations and still they do not appreciate that.

Its better not to comment if you dont know the facts,

FACT: CNSSL is just one of the companies MTN Call Centers are outsourced to and I know for a fact that that some call centers in Lagos and some other parts are outscourced to other companies, therefore you cant expect that all Call centers will have the same salary structure. It all about the negotiation between the each provider and the call center agents they hire.

If as an employee you accept and sign and agreement for a job, you freely agree to all the terms and conditions including the renumeration. You cant turn around and cry foul, when you willingly accepted the Job, while I can agree that the laws of Nigeria are not firm and enforced, but at the end of the day a contract is a contract its as simple as that.

We dont know for sure that MTN hasnt chosen to disengage CNSSL as Call Center Service providers, I also know for a fact that the Office in Jos houses, MTN staff of various departments as well as the call Center and am sure those staff arent going anywhere.

It might just be CNSSL trying to save face using insecurity as their PR strategy.

I think GEJ totally lacks ideas, as to how to lead a nation. By now there should be a cabinet, since he handed over to himself. Lets tell ourselves the truth, this president has no action.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-695731.0.html dis is Rochas in Action

The president has even more powers, all he needs is focus and purpose. Agrred 4yrs is a short time, which is the more reason why valuable time should not be wasted.

I didnt vote for GEJ and am very happy i didnt

The album is good, however it doesnt have the wow effect, so first listen will leave you dissapointed, but then it grows on you after a few listens.

Right now am really loving the album,

fav tracks

Slow Whine with Banky W (Certified Club banger)
EME Boyz with Banky W and Skales (Nice tune, kinda remindes me of Mi - Represent with Choc Boiz)

I understand people expecting 16 tracks like dont dull, and hola at your boy, lets be realistic, it aint easy to do music. This is a very decent effort and am sure subsequent albums will be better.

Give the album a few more listens and lets know what you think.

Have been going through all the comments, my personal opinion is that the track is mad, hooks on point. Someone talked about punch lines, commom "am your father in this industry son talk I am listening" that was a very sick jab. Am a fan of 9ice, all those talkin objectivity will know that no matter what you don't bite a hand that has fed u. Just like 50cent going to diss Eminem or Dre, afterall he probably has more money now, but that will be suicide. I like 9ice's music but morally he screwed up. The first I heard of 9ice was on the track with ruggedy.

Gaming / Re: Omagames by wolexf(m): 8:57am On Oct 24, 2010
I have never done business with Omagames, but I have been seeing them around which is a sign that they are the real deal.

It might be a good idea for you to buy the PS3 console from them just in case you have any problem whatsoever, you have a reliable channel to get it sorted.

As for the games, no go area, cos they are pretty expensive, I almost bought a game from them last month but i bought a fairly used one instead, there was no difference, the game played just fine, I happened to be on leave at the time so I finished the game in like 2 days, then i thought of how angry i would have been if i had gotten the game at the price omagames was selling finished it in 2 days and the Cd was of no further use to me.

My advice you can buy the console from them but scout for people willing to sell cheap or do exchange when looking for games.
