Aemmyjah: How is something established as a fact in science? O thee biased critical thinker Well, I don't follow the crowd
Abiogenesis is still lying in her coffin since Louis Pasteur buried her We have not seen any new species evolving into from something else
Artificial selection (with the best minds and resources) has failed
Mutation is rarely beneficial
No interlinking fossils
No superior apemen, not even one unlike the ones presented as scientific myth fact in biology textbooks but we have millions of inferior apes
What is there to counter?
Lemme ask you one question My brain and your brain Which one is a product of mindless accident and which one is a product of mindful design? (Since you don't accept the concept of the Creator but I strongly do) Based on the answer to the question (if you will even answer), which brain will you judge to be correct? Then why will the person with an brain by challenge the other person
De play Good point you have made but no one will take you seriously if you don't get into a lab and bring actual evidence 😂 |

Evolution has nothing to do with atheism. I'm agnostic, I already accepted evolution as fact when I was a Christian.
Religious people in Europe, Australia, Asia and majority in the Americas already moved on on this topic. Only minority biblical literalists in America and majority of religious people in Africa have problems reconciling this concept with their faiths. The reason for the majority in Africa is the result of deplorable educational system that lacks quality science development. |

Aemmyjah: Atoms and gravity can be experimented in the lab using scientific approach Who even questions Gravity and Atoms today? Yet, they say Evolution is not just a theory but a fact and those who can't accept it are not intelligent. Is that not brainwashing?
Abiogenesis which is their explanation to how life begun was long defeated by Louis Pasteur. note this, the probability of an accurate map of Nigeria with all the states and other details appearing by just pouring a paint on the wall is far higher than life emerging by chance.
The foundation of evolution is deadly shaky but they embrace it cos they love the philosophy behind it - live as you like, you're accountable to yourself only evolution can be explained in the lab also. I can give you an experiment that proves it that you can perform on your own if you have enough brain power to do it. |
Christianity Etc › Re: How Different Regional Christians Accept The Theory Of Evolution. by Workch(op): 6:56am On Jul 08, 2023 |
MightySparrow: Evolution still remains a theory, a supposition that the truth about it is not fully known. Some guys were trying to go beyond procedures to make us believe that theory is verity. It is not. Evolution theory has too many questions to answer.
There are so many extrapolations scientists have to make to plot a straight line graph to justify their claims. Evolution is not as easy as 'gravity'. Even, gravity is a fact but not fully known. Atoms are a fact, but not fully known. Big bang looks reasonable to scientists but still a theory. Billions of dollars are being spent to find out if what was conjectured is true. The more you search, the complex the outcome becomes. Will we know everything? Never! Atomic Theory, is atom a theory? Cell theory, is cell a theory? Gravitational theory, is gravity a theory? Don't you think that you have a wrong interpretation of what a "scientific theory" is? Evolution is fact and also a theory in science. |

Maynmann: That’s been sympathetic, if you say a thing exist, you will have to define that thing first , state the features and prove that it does exist. If you can’t prove it with evidence, it can be rejected without evidence.
Also in religion, Zeus is a God, so if you were asked if there is evidence for zeus, you will say you don’t know? Not to forget that zeus was worshipped in ancient israel longer than we have worshipped Abrahamaic gods.
If i come up to you and say “Jpqsd” exist, will you say “you don’t know”?, cause what is the difference between “God” and “Jpqsd”? I don't want to engage you because you like long and unending arguments. So I agree with you for peace to reign. |

kkins25: No. If i say there is no God, I'd be right because, indeed, there's none. No single human can prove it. I don't think it's right for you to say there's no God if there is no evidence for or against it. It makes sense to just say "I don't know" if we should consider every concept of God. Forcing a child to "believe" is brainwashing. If there is no cup on the table and i teach the child that there is no Cup, is that brainwashing? you should also not force children to believe there's no God until we have evidence. |
Christianity Etc › Re: What's The Best Way To Raise My Kids As Atheists? by Workch: 12:26am On Jul 08, 2023 |
excanny: A little about my background. I was raised as a religious Christian and made to read the Bible from start to end continuously on a yearly basis. This deep studying exposed me to seeing the many inconsistencies in the Bible and question my beliefs.
I also spent some time studying some other religious texts from Islam(English versions of Quran and haddiths), Buddhism and some Hinduism, before accepting Atheism as what works for me.
My utmost desire is to raise my children as straight up Atheists, no need wasting thing on fake concepts like religions, but at same time with good morals(logical, truthful, kind, trustworthy, and a couple of good societal values).
But I've been wondering whether it's ideal to expose them to religious texts, so they can easily see the fallacies of religions or to completely ignore religious texts and focus on scientific reasoning and logic?
Anyone in same boat? you have to allow them explore religion by making them know what it entails, as they are studying religion it makes it easier for you talk them against being religious based on logic. If they don't understand religion, they might end up falling for it someday. Train them to always question everything including what they have learnt from religion |
