All things are possible to them that believe. And faith without works is dead.

How many of us are already investing in agriculture? Or we would rather the government do everything?

Diversification is all man's business. Not empty words without action.

If you have a plot of land, start farming. If its 100 acres, start farming. Stop building only houses on every property. Source for special types of agriculture you can do to maximise your assets.

Things can turn around greatly in two years time but not through gossips and empty words or celebrity bashing but by going to work where it matters.

Visit the agric sector more to learn more than trolling celebrities on twitter or fb. Search videos on YouTube and watch modern ways to do things and 'how tos'. We all can put hands together and lift this great country beyond the expectations of the world and see it soar in two years time maximum.
Already thinking of making use my backyard land for food and cash crop production.

My Igbo neighbours r marrying white men.
I think this is the reason Igbo men r stranded n HV to go for Yoruba girls.
I am not so 100% sure tho. Just a thot.
Hmm.. I have lost counts of yoruba ladies getting married to white men also.

I feel the Igbos families shouldn't make life difficult for their daughters because I feel sober when I see the huge number of them still single at 40.

I quite agree with you that Lagos will not crash finally but the decline of the oil industry will impact Lagos seriously and heavily. Lagos would cease to become a mega state and when finally a niger delta state like Akwa ibom, bayelsa or Rivers state finally builds a deep sea port, then it is a game changer for the Niger Delta, because niger delta is closer to Abuja than Lagos and niger delta is surrounded by industrializing cities like Aba, onitsha, Nnewi umuahia, Enugu.
All the Niger Delta need to do is build a six Lane highway to aba or link them with rail line for the port to boom.
You have a point sir but are you forgetting something that one of the success of a seaport in a country according to my secondary geography is NEARNESS TO SOURCE. Look at the coastal terrain of Nigeria, Lagos seaport possess huge deltas that can coast ship at its continental self. I am not saying same cannot be achieved for Akwa Ibom, Rivers state and co but dredging needs to take place which will cost the country so much albeit the numerous important challenges to work on.

Most of what you consider manufacturing in Aba is disingenuous, it's rather assembly of pre-processed Chinese goods in Aba. There are very few processing plants anywhere in the country that transforms raw materials into finished goods. So what we have are assembly plants that rebadge and resell goods from China.

On a positive note, when we eventually fix power, that region will be ready to process raw materials more than most regions.
Thank you sir.

Most shoes/clothes and other stuffs produced in ABA are made from Chinese finished materials. If you are speaking of production/manufacturing in terms of shoe making, you will first of all turn hide/skin to leather through tanning process which they lack.

Shoe making is common everywhere just that other tribes don't hype it like the igbos.

Even innosun motors who boast of manufacturing is actually assemblage of spare parts from China.

How come Peter okoye married A yoruba babe?

My Igbo boss married a cute yoruba babe 4yrs ago.

The rate at which igbo men are marrying yoruba women is alarming now.

Could it be as a result of high dowry placed on igbo women or what? I just don't get it.

This thread is self explanatory and is to every lady out there that wants to know if he's the right partner to plan your future with.

How do you know your Nigerian boyfriend is lazy bone? without much ado, let's go straight to the center of gravity.

1. cry : He's always broke. If your boyfriend is always complaining of lack of fund and cannot take the financial responsibilities of things such as, shoping, house rent, food e.t.c he's not worthy.

2. -X He smokes weed. Weed smokers are like monkeys that's happy with the bananas but doesn't knw the bananas will later cause their ruine. Guys that smokes weed can be loud, outgoing but they are d worst type of boyfriends you can ever imagine of keeping.

3. tongue He procastinates responsibilities that must be done and shifts the blame on you.

4. cry He's always having time for sex/demanding for sex than the betterment of the relationship. he simply wants to use you and dumb.

5. cry : Have you ever watched him argue, fight, carrying sticks and bottles e.t.c weapons before he can defend himself or disrespecting elders? dont be impressed by such display.. he suppose to resolve matters amicably in a more matured way rather than to fight.

6. grin Is he a chronic gossiper that cannot keep secretes of the relationship? it simply means he's lazy and immature with it.(double wahala).

7. tongue Does he pop pills, alcohol before he can perform sexually? you dont want to marry such man.

8. Is he of help in the house chores like cleaning, cutting grasses in the garden/compound, washing, can he cook?

9. Is he having a reliable and secured job? This matters in every relationships.

10. Lastly, boyfriend must be more of action than end time talkatives...who only knows how to see your mistakes without seeing theirs. tosyne2much will belong to this category.

11. He must be hygienic.

cheers.

Em, not entirely true. The wonders you are doing IS NOT in igboland. You are astute traders and business managers but ONLY outside your geographical locality. Lets assume you get your B.1.a.f.r.a.land, then all the spare-parts dealers, drug distributors, movie and music distributors etc move back to the promised land- WHAT NEXT?? Will you sell spare parts to one another? or barter movies for medical supplies?
Bia, your biggest and most profitable market is where? It is still the ZOO, call a spade a spade. You sell it, we buy it, end of story!
Nice one cool

Yes it is the seat of power but where would the money for the expansion of Abuja infrastructure come from.
The point is Abuja at best would remain as it is, simplistic and maintaining the few infrastructure there.

But for Lagos I honestly don't see much hope.
Where would the money to maintain the bridges come from. Lagos just embarked on gigantic construction project the eco Atlantic which requires a lot of infrastructure.

For starters like Akwa ibom, they just need to start economic projects that would sustain their infrastructure like deep sea port, gas projects etc.

While cross river should build on their tourism and agriculture.

I have no comment on Osun, oyo, ogun states for now for certain reasons.

While for the middle belt states if only fulani herdsmen can allow you to farm then there is hope.

For the South East more investment in the industrial sector, auto and machine parts, steel sector, power generation, shoe making etc some rice, Palm investment

While for the extreme north, I have no advice.
Let me counter your thread in a diplomatic way brother.

LAGOS- you will agree with me that there are lot of industries in the state which is not limited to oil alone. FCMG, Steel, Beverages, Automobile, Power Generation Company, Manufacturing, Agrobased/Agro allied industries, etc. The state has a way of diversifying if her IGR is mainly generated from oil which I don't think it's entirely based in oil.

OTHER SOUTH WEST STATES: Aside Ogun been the most industrialised state in Nigeria, she is blessed with natural resources like limestone, a commercial hub of 60 perecent building/construction material in Nigeria. Agricultural sector in the state is massive and others I can recall for now. Even though Osun has economic issue, if their resources is well utilised, their IGR will increase.

The decline of the oil industry is going to be worse on the states of Lagos and kano.

Lagos because an analysis of the igr of Lagos shows that Lagos derived it's revenue from the income tax and the income tax bulk is from the oil workers whose offices are in Lagos.
The oil and gas component of the Lagos igr is more than 40% of the igr. Income tax paid by high earning oil and gas industry executive who gross average of N5m monthly has helped Lagos

Secondly kano will be the worst hit as the only state whose take home is equivalent to the take home of niger delta states with their 13% derivative.

Kano doesn't have the human capital to generate income tax.

Third state /city is Abuja. It is said that Abuja was built with oil money, where would the money to sustain and maintain Abuja come from if not the same money from niger delta.

Some states like kwara, benue, adamawa can easily with agriculture fight the downturn of their economy, how would sokoto, yobe, jigawa whose populace don't farm and whose land is far from economic centres for export of agricultural products survive.

The next in line are the hausa cities of katsina, batching, kaduna who benefitted from the lopsided federal allocations. Now that the oil wealth is going and there is no human capital we hope they will not turn to insurgency as a means of raising attention and revenue.

The states that would enjoy and be kings in the new dispensation.

Anambra, Nigeria's brain box and commercial hub will have its non oil economy growth unequalled and unrivaled. Anambra survived with no oil allocation managed the little it had and built an enabling environment for investments.

Akwa Ibom, this state was blessed with resources and good managers who used it very well to grow infrastructure and are currently working on a sea port.

Abia this state hosts aba, Nigeria's city of enterprise and football, aba is living beyond oil already.
SMH @ Lagos and Kano derives IGR from oil. Please where is your source MR. Man?
