Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich was one of seven Russian businessmen slapped with a full asset freeze and travel ban by the UK government on Thursday, in the country’s most high-profile crackdown on oligarchs since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The UK government accused Abramovich, who also holds Israeli and Portuguese citizenships, of having benefited financially and otherwise for decades from his close links to Russian president Vladimir Putin. The move immediately complicates Abramovich’s plans to offload Chelsea as billionaires from the US and elsewhere circle the football club for a purchase. |

omonnakoda:All Countries have thier Centre for Islamic Affairs. That of Nigeria is called NCIA headed by the Sultan of Sokoto as the Amir Mumini (Spritual leader of Muslims) in Nigeria. In cases like this, the order of the Amir is to be respected even if he is wrong on which day the fast is to commence or end. The burden is his responsibility right or wrong. Theres no gain saying Bitcoin could become the next global reserve currency. Over the years, many country currencies such as Portugal, Spain, England, and now United States have had thier currency as the world reserve and progressed on that. From Venezuela to Iran among many other countries undergoing one economic sanction or the other, Bitcoin has provided a way around the harsh economic realities of political sanction as Central government have been buying and using Bitcoin to make unhindered transactions. With the failing dollar and its impact on Naira, do you think it's time we dump the dollar and get our currency backed by Bitcoin? Your take... 1 Like
