What's scary about undergoing surgery? You Nigerians make me sick. This is as a result of too much religious indoctrination that makes everything evil in the eyes of an average Nigerian. See the surgery as a means to solve an existing problem than seeing it as a problem on it's own. It becomes a problem when you embrace quack Doctors. Even the so-called educated are not left out of the religious foolishness. I am a Christian but I choose how I follow and detect foolishness when I see one.

How does Christianity cause fear of surgeries or any medical procedure? If you say nonchalance, maybe true because some Christians ignore the fact that God works miracles through people and inventions are natural products of the inbuilt intelligence given by God. fear is a natural reaction to perceived danger. fear is not encouraged in Christian doctrines. Blame illiteracy instead because, any knowledge acquired would be useless without an ability to apply it.

pls simmer down. We can be unreasonable but we are humans so certainly we have intelligent tendencies. What the Roman Catholic Church did in time past could be described as political. This was the fault of the church leaders. Ordinarily, the inherent values of Christianity was peace. I had questions. I searched every where I could for answers but found only more questions. Then I decided to find the one who created all of it, including my person, believing He would surely have answers. I processed all information i could find on the subject and through process of elimination (and a lot of failures) came upon the way to get to Him. And I did what it was He asked to do and He showed up, and here I am.

I usually use this explanation. Note, it is just my humble opinion. Could be wrong, could be right, could be kinda right or kinda wrong. There can be no origin of something existing before time because origin is beginning and a beginning is time. That's the only explanation of the "God was always there" notion.

If you are familiar with science, you know what a chain reaction is. If you watch the science fiction subcategory of time travel you'd notice that not everything should be changed. Because there are certain future occurrences are tied to the past. And even the human you consider so wise and moral will do little or nothing about bad events that they know will result in worse consequences. That's my honest view.

Point of correction, religion is not some kind of immortality elixir. Believers or none believers will die one day and in any manner. Also the religion the victim practiced taught the deliverance from the fear of death and not from death.

Not everything is perceived by our senses. As for the family, there are free to take whatever course of action they wish. This situation calls for wisdom and Justice. Never has Justice been a wrong tool in the hands of men. Religion did nothing to them rather they followed the dictates of their own will or rather misinterpreted religious teachings. That's is not not the fault of religion.Forgiveness is good but every action has a consequence either through Justice (on Earth) or divine vengeance (after life) as theist believe. Religion supports Justice. We have free will for a purpose and that is SENSE OF JUDGEMENT. However you use yours, is up to you.
