The actings, the emotions, and the explicit erotics were amazing, raw and sizzling. It leaves you yearning for what's next, and thank Divinity there will be a season two... a sequel with a lot of events to iron out.

Yeah, it's a South African rip off of Dark Desire, but I haven't seen Dark Desire, and what you haven't seen is new to you. I guess I speak for a lot of people in my boat.

COBWEB --- 6.7/10

A simple, imperfect yet astonishingly horrifying movie. The most impressive or one of the most impressive element of the movie was it sound effects. Its sound effects did a hell of a job in portraying the horror of the movie, they added good, intense and terrifying horror energy to the movie. This is an elemnent lots of horror flick lacks.

Aside from the impressive horror sound effect, the performances of Anthony Starr and Lizzy Caplan were amazing. In addition, the plot was pretty interesting, it coursed harmoniously with its horror counterpart.

But anyways, the movie wasn't perfect, I personally feel it should have been better, but it was good.



HUNTED MANSION --- 5/10

This is what I will call a movie with a captivating comedy theme but terrible horror theme. Question I ask myself, was this movie even a horror movie? This movie could be passed out as an adventure, supernatural and comedy movie, attributing horror to it is an abomination. This is what one gets when you blend horror and comedy together.

For starters, what the fück is horror comedy? How do they correlate? How can a movie be horrifying and funny at the same time? Seriously, Hollywood needs to stop this shitty genre called horror comedy. Mixing comedy with horror is tantamount to mixing water with alcohol, it dilutes the horror and make its effect weak, it makes it laughable. How then can you call such horror? Well, except your targeted audience are kindergartens 🙄.

In this movie, scenes that were meant to be terrifying ended up being funny. How can one be laughing at a scene one is suppose to squirm with fright? The musical scores and sound effects made it worse, they weren't in anyway horrifying, rather fun and adventure centric. So much for a horror film. This movie has a good story but poor horror theme. If it was serious toned, it would have done a bang up job as a horror blockbuster.

Seriously, Disney should just stay the hell out of horror films and stick to their family friendly films instead of giving us this abomination. They should instead hand over horror to 20th Century Fox.

Now away from the sacrilegious horror theme of the movie, the comedy of the movie was top notch, a beauty to experience. This is one of the few comedy films where the comedy flowed seamlessly without any hassle. From the beginning to the end, I lost count of the times I reeled with laughter even in so called horrifying scenes.

One of the most funny scenes in the movie to me was where Madame Leota said, "I can show you what happened but..." Moment of silence. "It will cause you $3."
As if this wasn't hilarious enough, Bruce's "What!!?" reaction following that was rib cracking, his facial reaction was the final nail to the coffin. It was freaking funny. I don't think I will be forgetting that scene so soon.

Aside that, the exploration of the grief of Ben and Travis was nice.

The performances of the actors, especially Rosario Dawson, Lakeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito, and Tiffany Haddish (who took center stage with her flawless comic talent) were top notch. They added so much life to the movie.

I'm giving the movie 5/10 because it did well with its comedy theme but fücked the hell up in its horror department.



SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL --- 8/10

A simple intriguing movie with a interesting plot twist, awesome musical scores, soft religious theme, and top notch performance by Nicholas Cage and Joel Kinnaman. It's a movie I will wholeheartedly recommend.

THEY CLONED TYRONE --- 5/10

My opinion, this is one hell of a polarize movie. Why? Well, on one hand, is a movie with an interesting sci-fi (cloning and mind control) theme and character arc. On the other hand is a messy and boring movie, seriously I can't tell the number of times I fell asleep or lost interest in the movie. It would have been a banger, if the producers had blended interestingness with the cool sci-fi theme and character arc in and of the movie, but unfortunately the opposite is the case.

But I won't pass on the fact that Jamie Foxx, John Boyega and Teyonah Parris actings were impressive, especially Jamie Foxx, he brought some life to the movie. I also love the fact the movie didn't portray and promote the whole victimization mindset possessed by lots of African Americans, and that lots of black movies tend to portray and promote, but rather showcased the world as it is, some white being racist by experimenting on blacks, and some blacks being malevolent by hurting and killing their fellow blacks... and others. Evil... moral evil has nothing to do with race but rather choice.

My take, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as an interesting movie, but rather with a disclaimer. You definitely or might get turn off.



WINNIE THE POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY --- 6.5/10

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is what I will call a digusting, controversial, annoying but impressive movie. Paradoxical right? Well, here's the catch.

Disgusting and controversial because of its concept, its concept of marring the image of Winnie the Pooh, a character that lots of people especially children love. How someone will think of turning a good natured, light-hearted, fun and adventurous character into a psychotic, vengeful, dark, gory, horrifying serial killer is beyond my comprehension. Why malign our Winnie the Pooh? What happened to creating a different character or a rip-off? Honestly, this is over the chart disgusting.

Annoying because of its fvcking annoying characters. These are characters that had multiple chances to escape but no, chose to be stupid. You find yourself in a life threatening situation and rather than run or defend yourself, you chose to waver, scream foolishly and engage in senseless dialogues. Honestly, those human characters deserved to be killed. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I'm not surprised the movie had massive negative critical reception all thanks to its controversial, disgusting and annoying nature, 2.9/10 on IMDb and 3% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Impressive due to its horror and gory theme (the movie was damn frightening and lethal), villain character arc especially for Pooh, and unexpected ending twist --- never saw that coming. Well, it's now known that the ending was to set the movie for a franchise... shared universe franchise. But I'm still lost on the absence of owl and rabbit, and why no explanation whatsoever was given.

Honestly, I'm surprise how a horror movie produced on a budget of $100K could be better than horror films with budgets of millions. Little wonder it performed tremendously, grossing $5.2M. Now that's a huge cash out. I'm not going to comment on the poor appearance of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet considering its budget. With such low budget, it will be crazy for anyone to expect an impressive appearance for Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.

Anyway, since they've set the movie up for a franchise, I would really love to see a sequel. This could be a or the competitor to Leatherface.

It's possible Gal Gadot will not be DCU Wonder Woman.

My joy is back

One side is saying A, another side is saying B. Gal Gadot could be lying, she could be saying the truth. The so called statement from DC Studio could be true, it could be a lie all in the bid for DC Studio to avoid unnecessary controversies this info might cause. If Gal Gadot is truly playing WW, that news is better left for when the DCU has a good footing and that's after the current slate of films have been produced.

Another angle to it is, both are saying the truth in the sense that Gal Gadot could still be playing WW but in a rebooted WW film. In other words, no WW3 is happening, but there's definitely a Gal Gadot's WW. And if DC Studio is to continue with Gal, then definitely this is the part they will follow. WW3 can't fit into the DCU.

But one thing I know is, the PARADISE LOST series will put an end to all this dilemma.

Aside that, who plays WW, be it Gal or not, isn't my business, all I ask for is a cohesive and progressive DCU, good WW film, and good WW performance by its actress.

In other news, the DCU Batman will be an older Batman (mid thirties to mid forties) contrary to the initial claim of a young Batman. You have a teenage Damien Wayne in the life of Batman.

As for INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR, after the last installment, they should have just hung the boot. This one was totally unnecessary IMO. The movie was a quick cash grab that wanted to ride on the success of it's predecessors. The concept of astral travel has been over flogged throughout the franchise, irrespective of the fact that it's the corner stone of the franchise.

The red demon was very uneventful, it was basically a joke. The plothoes the movie had was something else.

Honestly the horror genre of late is nothing to write home about. Now, you watch horror movies and doze off.

With the way the red demon was introduced in the first installment, one would expect he was significant to the human characters, like have a connection to them. One would also expect they would have given a backstory to it like they did "the man who can not breath", "the bride in black", and "keyface", but nah, that wasn't the case. The modafvcker didn't even have enormous screen time. So much for a villain that was introduced in the first installment as a significant villain in the franchise.

It's horror theme was meh. I swear this is a movie that a kindergarten can watch seamlessly. What about its plot holes? Let me not even go there. What brand of crack were the Writer(s) and director on? The only good thing about the movie was the Chris character, she got me engaged with her charming personality.

As for Astral Projection, to me, I gat no issues with that. That was the cornerstone of the franchise. Everything was built around it and The Further.

As for the franchise, base on info and the movie's plot, this is the last Insidious installment. Any other movie in the franchise will be a spin off like the upcoming Thread: A Tale Of Insidious. Well, the studio might decide to renege on that and continue with the Insidious film series. To me, whichever way they choose to go, they shouldn't repeat the mess they did with Insidious: The Red Door. Seriously, Patrick Wilson messed up big time as the director on this one, but lucky for him, Sony, and the franchise, the movie made good cash.

THE BEANIE BUBBLE --- 9/10

A beautiful historical drama about ambitions, business strategy, growth, wit, and the devastating effect of betrayal, insecurity, greed, selfishness, disloyalty and ungratefulness on a viral, mega, successful business.

One important lesson to learn here is, never let go of your human assets, they're the pillars of your business. Your loyalty, support and appreciation goes a long way in fostering and sustaining business health and growth. Unfortunately, lots of businessmen fail to adhere to this simple but powerful rule, and they and their businesses pay dearly for it.



INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR --- 3/10

An unterrifying horror flick with significant plot holes, and unexplored villain character. This is a movie whose horror theme was trying so hard to be horrifying, but nevertheless failed miserably at it, thus making the flick unintriguing.

Okay, questions;

* How did Dalton know that painting his art with black paint was going to seal the red door?
* How does painting Dalton's art with black paint seal the red door? What's the principle?
* What's the back story of the red demon? In the previous installments we see other villain characters being given a backstory, we were exposed to who they were in the real world and their connections to the human characters, but the red faced demon, we weren't. Who was it? What connection does it have to the human characters?

This and the unscary horror theme of the movie makes it unappealing to me. But I have to admit, the good thing about the film is the charming, chattty, naughty and somewhat sarcastic personality of Chris.

HIDDEN STRIKE --- 6.75/10

Not a perfect movie but it's fun to watch. The comic theme of the movie flowed seamlessly with the action. I must give it out to John Cena and Jackie Chan, they did a number there.



LUCK --- 9/10

To me, this is one hell of a movie. The hearty, emotional and adventurous themes of the movie coupled with the charisma of Bob and the top notch animation of the movie made it a loveable film.

1.) Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves --- 8.3/10

Aside from its actions, fantasy, comedy and magical theme, the detailed backstories of various characters made the movie a beauty to see. Michelle Rodriguez was the MVP I gotta say, her character to me was the charm of the movie --- brute and somewhat sarcastic but intriguing personality.

It's sad the movie flopped at the box office, but I wish, pray and hope that Paramount Pictures capitalize on its positive critical reception and story potential to give us a sequel, or if they don't want that, a Paramount + sequel series would be nice. It's unfair to deprive the world of such amazing content and would be franchise.



2.) About My Father --- 8/10

Robert Di Nero really did a number on this one. I can't believe I was just smiling like a teenage girl asked to prom by her crush 😂. That man is a goat and the GOAT 😏🙃. Seriously, he was and is the movie.



3.) God Is A Bullet --- 8.5/ 10

A simple yet attention capturing movie about malevolence, child grooming, abduction, fatherly love, self discovery and vengeance.



4.) Joy Ride --- 6.5/10

A messy, adventurous and pseudo comic --- its comedy theme wasn't impressive --- but watchable movie about friendship, growth and family.

RUBY GILLMAN, TEENAGE KRAKEN

Which movie could be passed out as an episode in a series? Ruby Gilman, Teenage Kraken.

Which movie is childish? Ruby Gilman, Teenage Kraken.

Which movie appears made for under ten years olds? Ruby Gilman, Teenage Kraken.

Seriously, how is it possible for an inexperienced teenage Kraken to be able to stand her ground against a Trident wielding mermaid when her mother and grandmother --- two powerful and experienced warrior Krakens --- couldn't? I guess anything for female empowerment huh 😏.

Truth is, Ruby Gilman, Teenage Kraken has a good story but poor storytelling. The movie is rushed, childish and non intriguing. To an under ten years old, the movie will be cool, but to an adult who saw an animated movie and chose to see it, it's bonkers.


My Rating: 3.5/10
