PoliticsBorno Sets Condition For Boko Haram Negotiation With FG - Vanguard by XavierBlue(op): 2:39pm On Aug 09, 2015
Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha has Sunday described the speculated pleas by the Boko Haram in the media to negotiate with the Federal Government as an accepted welcome idea, on the condition that the Islamist militants be fully “committed to laying down their arms for peace” in the North East sub-region of Nigeria.

Mustapha set the conditions for negotiations yesterday to newsmen in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, while returning from the Burnt Bricks of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp that accommodates over 3, 000 returning Borno indigenes from Cameroon Republic.

Mustapha, who was accompanied by the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Alhaji Sani Sidi to Mubi, said that he also heard and learnt of the speculated pleas in the media by Boko Haram for negotiations with federal government.

His words: “I heard and read from the media of the said pleas for negotiations by the insurgents, but sincerely speaking I do not know its source; no authenticity of the speculation. The insurgents are tired and they want true and sincere negotiations, it is left to the Federal Government to accept or reject their advances, depending on
the genuineness of their approach to this incessant insane massive killings and bombings in Nigeria including schools, markets and hospitals.”

Mustapha; while addressing the returnees camped in Mubi South said that 3, 488 have so far returned to Nigeria via Mubi a border town to Cameroon.

He said they had been refugees in Cameroon after the the Boko Haram attacks in Gambouru and Ngala communities of Borno state.

“The Borno state government will identify with the plights of these returnees,” pledged Mustapha, adding that the returning refugees would be evacuated from Adamawa after they must have been thoroughly screened by Immigration and Military personnel at the Sahuda entry border post.

He said meanwhile; they would be temporarily camped at Fufure and Malkohi designated camps in Adamawa State where they would be searched and screened by security agencies.

Christianity Etc7 Reasons Why People Dont Go To Church by XavierBlue(op): 11:14am On Aug 09, 2015
Back in the early 1990's when Christianity was dominating others forms of religion, a lot of people flock to church. But those numbers seems to reduce over the years. The reasons are put below, though some are assertions.

1. CHURCH ARE FULL OF HYPOCRITE.

No need to debate on this fact as its all clear and decipherable. Perhaps, even in-eradicable. We all say one thing and do the other, we all criticize people and still turn around to indulge in the same acts we were vehemently against. The church is full of this set of people, thus making people lack the desire to go to church. Yes.. I am an hypocrite, but with all due respect, you are also an hypocrite.

2. THE CHURCH IS BORING.

You could chose to debate on this. Since when was the church meant to be entertaining?. Well! The church has witness a dramaticall change over the years, and to some people, this assertion is true.

3. THE CHURCH IS EXCLUSIVE.

The church has an exclusive message, which is for everyone. The thing is, every one knows the message, "jesus brings salvation" etc. So why bothering going to church to hear a repetition of it?. This is also one of the reason why people stay back from church, to them, they know the message the bible and church is relaying.

4. THERE DON'T HAVE TIME.

This is undoubtedly any major point. Simple, they don't have the time or are two busy. People who are on work shift during the weekend also fall into this category. This is priority issue, but a valid reason nonetheless.

5. THEY DON'T HAVE CLOTHES.

Though this shouldn't be an excuse for Christians to stay back from church as they worship the Lord and not men, it is a reason why some people stay back from church.
I know of a church that laughs sadornically at members that repeat clothes and attire. The act alone is appaling. Instead of being laughed at, some people choose to stay at home and avert such mortification.

6. LIFE IS BETTER WITHOUT RELIGION.

This is an assertion but With that perspective, people tend to neglect church since its the "pillar" of religion. Going by the norms and commandments of the church by being a Christian are hectic for others. For me, i don't care much about religion but a better relationship with God. Some people that neglect church also hold to this assertion.

7.THE CHURCH WANT YOUR MONEY.

This is undoubtedly another congent reason. If you go to a church that talks more about offering and ransom than sermon, you'd found this a valid point. Maybe the church is faced with financial difficulties.
I think The Leaders should do more about praying and trusting, for God will provide.
However, am ain't advocating that members shouldnt give to the church but It appalling for leaders to "CHALLENGE" members into giving, it should be a thing of the mind.

If you have a different perception of the amazing nature of the God who created you, you should find ways to reorganize your priorities around such a wonderful God.

Gotcha. I know what you mean. I think it takes a certain skill to make a poem half romantic in vernacular. It's not easy.

Well, the funny thing about my language, like I said, it's like a machine gun so we try to soften it by mixing it with English. Especially when talking to other people. People even make fun of us because of it. Eg. You'll find a xhosa person saying things like- ndi ready, ndi happy etc. Nd = I. Reason being we use A LOT of clicks in the language. Someone once said it's like having firecrackers in your mouth or it's new year right there in the mouth. Hahahah
ya.. the locals can make a meaningful poem and some creative peeps.

Regarding your dialects, ours isn't too far from yours, but it moderate and tolerable. We use it at homes and even offices, at school etc.
An igbo lady once told me that when we converse in high tone it sounds like we are fightingcheesy. Imagine that.
What the general language there? Ours is pidgin? Wait! Can you speak or decipher pidgin?

Say that ain't true? Seriously? You can't write anything?

I'm not sure, I've never tried. You're right in a way though, most people use English these days. I said strange because if someone that wasn't a foreigner, a local, came on to me in English...I'd be like, what the hell? In text it's understandable, just not in person
i can write the words and sentence but can't make out a meaningful poem out of it. You know rhymes and the rest.

True... A local to use English on me? A local? An educated illiteratecheesy. In my village, we all use our dialects, doesn't matter the height of education you've reached. Infact if you use any language apart from ours, you'll be ridiculed and will be laughed at.
You use English or your dialects at home?

for me, English is the best dear. You can churn sweet romantic poems for your lover. Come to think of it, i can't even write poems nor "form" them in my dialects. sad. Grandpa wouldn't be proud of me if he's alive:-(
Can you? Write meaningful , romantic and inspirational poems with yours?

in my language? The internet is not ready for that lol. I'd crack every screen. My language is very aggressive.

So which language non-villagers use to woo? Pidgin? You speak Pidgin right?
non-locals can resort to English and pidgin. And yes, i speak pidgin, every nigerian that lives in Nigeria knows how to speak it. The simplest language in Nigeria, easily learned since its derived from English, some words though.
So what the simplest sentence you can say with yours that wouldn't crack the internet?cheesy
