bidexiii: Wing Commander Chimda Hedima 1975 - 2014.
On 11/09/14, a company of NA soldiers attempted to overrun a Boko Haram position in Borno. Due to the low altitude, the plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists' gun fire. Wing Commander Hedima and his partner realized that they were going to crash.
Instead of hurriedly parachuting to safety within Nigerian controlled territory, they chose to embark on a mission to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but not before ensuring their plane slammed into a column of terrorists in which 63 Boko Haram members were killed as a result of their bravery.
Wing Commander Hedima was captured. On 12/09/14, he was killed by the Boko Haram.
He chose Nigeria, he chose all of us. We cannot forget him. Please share his story. His name should be known by everyone.
Rest In Peace Commander, we are grateful.
May you find eternal peace in the bosom of the almighty God.
--------------AIT African Independent Television I can never forget this incident. I remember clearly how he remain calm even in the face of death. He died for a greater good and it is shameful that NAF, under Badeh's leadership denied him. I felt bad for Naija that day when he was killed in his service uniform, hand tied to his back, too graphic to describe. Yet, Badeh denied him. Badeh deserve to be hanged by the balls. |

There's also no scale used to compare fighters! As the real force multiplication capabilities are not made public. I stopped following them on Twitter the day I saw them celebrate the death of some Indian soldiers in Kashmir. Who does that |

komekn: That's not true.
Tracked vehicles are actually considerably better off road and can go where many wheeled vehicles can not venture.
Survival rate in most modern tracked vehicles such the available IFV platforms which can carry troops will exceed some MRAPS. With regard to speed it is debatable the old scorpion light tanks that we still use can reach speeds of 100kmph.
IFV platforms give you added fire power and incredible resistance to all sorts of offensive weaponry. For instance the Puma IFV can withstand 120mm projectiles frontal arc.
Nearly all contemporary IFV's will offer all round protection from 14.5mm projectiles i.e. HMG the typical guns mounted on the banks of Boko pick ups. Very few MRAPS have that level of protection.
But it is the offensive response that the IFV can give with devastating consequences that makes it feared by adversaries. Unfortunately, the NA does not have one single definitive IFV in its armoury. Quite unexplainable really. U made a salient point. But my statement was against those educated illiterate criticising the procurement of the indigenous MRAPs because it is not made in America. |

buygala: Please point out in this article where anything was said about the tyres What I am saying in essence is that the moment you put track wheels on them they stopped to be called MRAPs. MRAPs are different from tanks. I have seen FURY too but FURY is an Armoured Tank not MRAP. Like any Armoured Vehicle it was temporarily disabled when it stepped on an IED saving the lives of its occupants. |

buygala: Sir, then you have no idea of a mine's effect... When a mine is done with those wheels, there will most likely only be squeezed and shredded metal where those tyres used to be
Please tell me the vehicle can run without wheels as well Tracked vehicle are slow, cumbersome and cannot navigate some terrains. The importance of MRAPs is just that occupants escape alive and with minimal injuries when they step on landmines. The vehicle too will surely be damage but you will agree with me that saving human life is more important than shredded tires. |

PROFORCE has finally released the final prototype of its long awaited Mine Resistance Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle. It is a very huge and beautiful beast. And it is proudly made in Nigeria by Proforce. Named ARA (THUNDER), it is a testimony of Nigerians' ingenuity. At least 9 units are currently on order by the Nigerian Army. bidexiii: GENERAL COURT MARTIAL SENTENCES AIRCRAFTMAN BERNARD KALU TO DEATH BY HANGING
The General Court Martial (GCM) sitting at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base in Makurdi has sentenced Aircraftman (ACM) Bernard Kalu to death by hanging for shooting and killing his female colleague, late Aircraftwoman (ACW) Sholape Oladipupo. Delivering the judgement on Tuesday, 15 August 2017, the President of the GCM, Group Captain Elisha Bindul, found ACM Kalu guilty of the charges of murder, house breaking, impersonation, failure to perform military duty, loss of Service property and disobedience to standing orders. The verdict is, however, subject to confirmation by the Convening Authority.
The Defence Counsel, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the verdict, adding that if the Convening Authority did not review the verdict, he would appeal to a higher court. The judgement today brought to an end, months of the GCM trial of the unfortunate shooting incident involving the two NAF personnel. It would be recalled that ACM Kalu shot and killed ACW Oladipupo Sholape on 12 March 2017 at the NAF Base, Makurdi. The successful conclusion of the GCM is a validation of the NAF's earlier assurance to the general public that justice would be served to all concerned parties in the matter.

walemoney007: NEWS B’Haram attacks Adamawa, kills scores, destroys 60 houses
Published August 11, 2017 Share Tweet Share Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai Many people were feared dead on Thursday in a fresh attack by Boko Haram Islamists on Ghumbili community in the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attack comes a few days after a similar incident in neighbouring Mildu village in the local government, where seven people were killed by the insurgents.
Confirming the attack, the Chairman of Madagali Local Government Council, Mr. Yusuf Muhammed, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the attack lasted from 11pm on Wednesday to 3am on Thursday.
He said that the jihadists burnt no fewer than 60 houses and looted foodstuffs.
“They looted foodstuffs, killed livestock and burnt the village completely,” he stated.
ADVERTISING inRead invented by Teads Muhammed said that the exact number of the dead and the injured people had yet to be ascertained and that villagers who escaped the attack were currently taking refuge at Gulak, the headquarters of the council.
But the spokesman for the Police Command in Adamawa State, Mr. Othman Abubakar, who also confirmed the attack, said no life was lost.
He, however, said that houses were destroyed in the attack – the latest in a string of deadly blows on mainly soft targets in Nigeria’s troubled North-East.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Haruna Furo, said that only one person was killed and that many houses were destroyed.
Boko Haram appears to have raised its onslaught in recent weeks in its eight-year bloody insurgency that has claimed thousands of lives. Source:punch newspaper

ShyCypher: FIGHTERS DO NOT DROP BOMBS, THEY FIRE MISSILES. Only multirole jets can do both and the F7 is not a multirole jet.
The multirole jets are the F35, F22s etc
Bombers are designed to drop bombs. End of. Wow, I quit. You are far too gone and irredeemable. Imagine more than 5 people have been trying to open your mind yet you remain obstinate. U need to understand that learning is continuous in life so always keep an open mind. Ur case is different. |

ShyCypher: Again, droppin' pictures prove nothin'.
You are not the NAF.
I want you to show me PRECISELY where it is said that this aircraft was used for this operation.
Incase you didn't notice, the footage provided was captured by a satellite and not a plane.
Which is why I asked when Nigeria acquired a military satellite. You are yet to answer that question. Satellite capturing live footage so precisely you could see every action to the second? Uhmmm, u must have been living in a world of cartoon movie. No offense, but that video wasn't made by a satellite. Which is why I told you to educate yourself more about NAF. |

ShyCypher: Yet your colleagues have shown us THREE other planes that carried out the same task.
Which one are we to believe? Initially, we were using the ATR-42 for ISR until the Donnier were recommissioned recently. They were even repainted to desert camouflage to blend perfectlyn into Sambisa environment. The truth is, Nigeria has CH3 drones, Amebo drone, ATR 42 and Donnier all for surveillance so no one can tell for certain which plane made the video. Plus the video is top notch. Contain everything that smart security analyst needs |

ShyCypher: Hhahahahahahaha
Who are they foolin'? Me?
This video is fake. Probably a screenshot while playin' Flight Simulator 2000.
Do they think Nigerians are that stupid?
Let them show us evidence of the aftermath of these 'attacks' and the Boko Haram corpses - that's what every world military does. Even after the lyin' US government dropped the Mother Of All Bombs on Afghanistan months ago, the aftermath video was shown.
1. Nigeria has no bomber jet, we only have some obsolete fighter jets and fighter jets do not carry bombs - they carry missiles. Missiles do not drop from the undercarriage of any plane - only bombers can do that - they are fired. 2. That HUD looks very fake. Even after playin' it full screen, I couldn't make out anythin' written on it. Is that how the supposed pilot managed to hit his mark? 3. Nigeria has no workin' satellites so how the Bleep did they capture this video? Bomber jets & fighter jets do not come with undercarriage cameras. Judgin' by the footage, the camera was stationary and not moving fast. There's no single bomber/fighter jet in the world that can stop mid-air.
This video insults our intelligence.
Buhari's administration is an expensive joke. What a shame! U think you know so much but you actually know nothing. Worse still, you have no idea you are wallowing in ignorance. To know that nearly 40 Nigerians actually like your dumb comment goes to show that our youths are in serious trouble. For the record, the plane that recorded the whole incident is an ISR plane. Intelligent Surveillance and Reconnaissance plane. It spotted group of terrorist and the same message was relayed to the Alpha and F7 jets that did the bombing and strafing of the target zone. Educate yourself about NAF alright instead of misleading people here on NL. |
